Directions

1) Add the colouring cream to the developer and shake well to mix.

2) Apply the mix to your hair, starting from the roots then throughout the lengths and ends. Leave in hair for 30 mins.

3) Rinse your hair until the water runs clear. Use the Caring Gentle pH Shampoo to remove any excess residue.

4) Apply a halzenut amount of the Lightweight Nourishing Mask. Leave in for 3 mins then rinse your hair. Use the mask once a week until your next colour for soft, shiny, lively hair.

Applying to dry hair is so much easier and makes the process quicker. Still find the mixture stinky but it wasn't too messy. Gives good grey coverage and is a good match for my hair colour.

I had some difficulty at first trying to work out what to use and when because the quantity of bottles was a bit confusing. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the L'Oreal Paris Excellence Creme 5 in Natural Brown over the weekend and thought it was a great home-salon product which covered my grey roots pretty well. I have medium length hair and decided to use the whole product rather than split it into a two-time use; which I sometimes do with other hair dye brands. The directions were easy to follow and the required time was sufficient to cover my grey roots. I found the smell of the chemicals not too overpowering either. The addition of the shampoo and conditioner in the kit was helpful. although I did feel the quantity of the products may be an overkill for an entire use. A great bonus to keep for subsequent hair washing. The conditioner left my hair nicely hydrated and nourished, maybe a bit thick for my liking, as I felt I had to use a lot of water to wash it all out. I would normally go a little darker in colour (like a darkest brown) but I found that this natural brown also did the job well.

The colour develper was a little strong but the shampoo and hair mask smelt really fresh. The colour coverage for grey hair was fantastic i now have no greys showing and the brown is now even all over. After using this product my hair was left feeling smooth and silky and I love that I have a mask to continue use for 3 more weeks to keep hair smooth silky and colour fresh

The hair colour was very easy to mix and apply, with the application bottle included in the box. The colour develops in less than 30 minutes and rinses away well. The included post-colour shampoo and treatment work well to leave the hair soft, smooth and shiny. I found this hair colour covered my greys well and the shade looked very natural. It's a very easy to use and effective at home hair dye.

I would like to suggest that, this product needs to add extra tap to seal, cause sometimes losses the conditioner or others inside, the conditioner is the best part of this product. I need to mention about the gloves, they are getting too small for normal fingers. I like to see the improvement.

Gone are the days where I can afford to go to the salon every two months so I spread out my salon visita and handover my interim hair colour treatments to L'Oreal Excellence. It's incredible the results you can get at a fraction of the salon price and a 'hair pick me up' always feels great. My husband sometimes asks if I've been to the salon - how good is that? I need a dye that doesn't strip the hair too much as I'm always working against the grain to combat dry hair - this does a pretty good job, leaving my hair soft and manageable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't color after using Magic Root Coverup I have had really good results using four prior times. Today, I colored after using L'Oreal Magic Root Coverup. The two areas where the spray was used remained silver gray! I even left the color in for the extra 10 minutes recommended for resistant gray! A note needs to be made that hair should be free of this temporary spray color.

Part of what made it worthwhile paying the premium price was that you got decent quality gloves that fit my hands easily and dont tear. These new ones are TINY, i couldnt even get them on either hand and im just an average Australian woman. And please get rid of the shampoo, i have plenty of that in my shower already. Bring back the serum instead

Today I used the "new" one and am very disappointed that the gloves seem to have been downsized to the piont that I could not even get them on. I am not a large person but had to dye my hair without the protection of the gloves. L'Oreal, please go back to giving usable gloves!

I have a disability so I am unable to go back to the shop. Five star for the colour. One star for not suppling the whole product

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Previous satisfied customer unhappy I have been using this product for about 10 or 12 years - not natural brown, but 5.6 Auburn. The product now has a strong amonia/bleach smell - not noticed previously The colour does not last as long as it used to. One of the best things about this product was that it took less time for the water to run clear than all others, and that is still the case. I will have to go back to trying other brands now, to find one that lasts and doesn't have that strong smell. I have previously recommended this product to many friends but not any more. Please advertise when you go back to the old recipe so I can come back.
