Directions

1. Unfold the mask. Gently apply on clean face. Adjust the mask to the contours of your face. 2. Leave it for 15 minutes and then remove the mask. 3. Massage the excess serum into your skin, including neck or remove it with a Reusable Eco pad or cotton pad.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I was so excited to get notified that I’d be testing out the garnier skin active pure charcoal tissue mask. I’m a huge sheet lover fan when I have the time to just relax. Inside the packet sent to me by @beautycrew to review was 1 mask. It was quite a soggy mask and it looked almost like black cotton t-shirt material with cut outs for the face. I applied it, sat back for 15 minutes and hoped my pores would be smaller by the end. According to the packet, it says that one mask will deliver 24 hours of hydration and after the 15 minutes I should appear hydrated and refreshed, my pores refined and purified. This was definitely true of my results- I was hydrated and my pores seemed slightly smaller. The only complaints I have are 1. that i wish we had been sent 2 or 3 masks as the packet also says after testing 1 week (of 3 applications) skin is smoother, radiant and has a healthy glow which I would’ve liked to have tested. I think it would’ve allowed me to see the full potential of the product. I think I’ll be purchasing another of these to see if this is true. And complaint 2- it actually broke me out In one area the next day but having said that, my skin is really sensitive. For a sheet mask, it’s a great price point though and although I did have one breakout, I’d buy it as I found it very hydrating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This mask worked wonders on my face! With my skin clearing up almost instantly. It’s super easy to apply and remove from the face. I saw a huge visual difference in my pores as they got smaller and it also seemed to remove and fade my blemishs and acne.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I can see this is a brilliant product and that for most people it would work really well for them but I do advise you be careful when first using the product, particularly if you have sensitive skin. I has a slight reaction which resulted in my face looking like a blotchy tomato but I put some aloe on and all better. It did feel really soothing going on though and was super relaxing .

The Charcoal facemask in particular works well to hydrate, nourish and moisturise the skin. However, although the packaging stated that the mask would minimise the appearance of pores, I didn't see any visible results.

However, I couldn’t see any results apart from my skin feeling moisturised after leaving it on. I enjoyed the smell and could see myself using it again in winter for its moisturising effects however not for troubled skin. The price is reasonable which is another benefit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average It was easy to use. The mask fits the shape of my face well. There was a lot of the serum product covering the mask that some of it was running down into my eyes. The product serum is a clear gel, and the mask is a black tissue mask. There is a very mild scent. It felt cool and refreshing on my skin with a slight tingling feeling. I lied down for about 15 minutes with it on and it felt nice the whole time. Once taken of i rinsed and dried my face. After i noticed my face felt cleaner, hydrated and smooth, but that is about where it ends for me. I didn't find that it reduced my pores at all and the next morning my skin felt and looked back to normal again. I wouldn't recommend this product for the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice mask This mask looks different than other tissue masks I used before.It is black :) It is soaked in serum.What I like about: it is really easy to fit on The face , it doesn't move once it's on.I had it on for about 20 min. It feels refreshing and the skin feels soft after use. Otherwise I didn't notice anything different regarding my skin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average mask Sheet itself is black (I guess to mimic the charcoal colour), so looks cool on. Liquid serum is clear. After 15-20 minutes on there is still serum left on the skin. Takes some time for it to dry leaving that glossy stuff on the skin. I can not put other skincare over as it peels. Saw no difference with my skin (huge pores, normal to oily). Just was as it always is. The experience of using the mask is good though. Mask stays on even without my silicone holder over it. And the mask does not have that excess plastic things inside to cover the mask and need to peel off. This one is single mask sheet and less waste. Do not like that it is filled with propylene glycol. It makes my skin dehydrated with regular use. But one off this mask was ok to use. I did wash off the formula after couple of hours of the skin. As do not like that coat on my skin and want to use my skincare and for it penetrate better (and not ball up), this needs to be removed. I'm not too sure if Garnier's 'Skin Active Pure Charcoal Tissue Mask with Black Algae' actually 'purified' my skin but my skin definitely felt nice, hydrated and refreshed afterwards and I was relaxed.

While it's quite hydrating, doesn't do anything else and even the hydration effect doesn't last that long.\nSince it claims to have active pure Charcoal, I expected this mask to be very potent but looks like the charcoal part is probably used just to make the sheet look black. The clear fluid smelled amazingly fresh but didn't even seem to have a trace of charcoal. I used the mask before bed and kept it on for 20 minutes - that's 5 minutes longer than the recommended time and didn't wash off the residue as suggested in many reviews. It felt very rejuvenating for my dry skin but soon all the leftover serum. dried off and it started feel somewhat sticky. Anyway, this didn't bother me so much but when I woke up, all that hydrated feeling was long gone and didn't notice any particular difference in appearance of pores either - not that there was any pore magic happening right after the mask either.\nOverall - not a bad product if you're just looking to refresh your skin a little bit but not particularly effective in terms of brightening the appearance.\n

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Relaxing and refreshing but didn't make a huge impact I tried this sheet mask after exfoliating and cleansing so my pores were nice and clean and could soak up what the mask had to offer. The mask itself was black, a good thickness so it didn't rip when putting on my face and it had a lot of clear serum which smelt fresh but not overly strong or sweet. It was relaxing to have the face mask on and I relaxed for 20 mins and my skin felt cool and refreshed with the mask on. When I took the mask off, I massaged the rest of the serum in and found it didn't soak in very well and just left my face feeling sticky when it had dried. I had to apply moisturiser after it had dried because it didn't hydrate the skin a lot, and I didn't notice much of a difference to my pores. My skin tone looked nice and fresh with an even tone which was nice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Refreshing but nothing special The Garnier Skin Active Pure Charcoal Black Tissue Mask is your generic packaged moist sheet mask aside from it being black. It claims to purify and hydrate skin, and tighten enlarged pores. I personally found the mask refreshing and noticed that it left my skin feeling both plump and smooth. I can however find these same effects with other and cheaper masks. The mask didn't really make a noticeable difference to my pores and thus, I wouldn't say that it met my expectations. I do think that this mask may work better after repeated use so I may give it more of a chance. The mask also left my face feeling sticky after use and peeled up into little clumps when I tried putting moisturiser on top so I would recommend washing your face properly after use if you wish to get rid of the stickiness or to wear makeup.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from great mask I tried this mask on my brother who has a lot of blemishes on his skin. Out of all the Garnier Tissue Masks, this is the easiest and quickest one to use, as the mask has already been prepped for you (so you just use it straight out of the packet).. In comparison to the other Garnier Tissue Masks, you'd have to manually mix the formula with the mask and that takes a bit of time to do. The mask itself is soaked with liquid and it smells amazing. Also, the liquid itself is not sticky at all, but very fluidy. The disappointing thing about this mask is that the sheet is not big enough. My brother has a large forehead so it didn't fit onto his entire forehead, so I had to squeeze the excess liquid from the packet and spread it on the exposed parts of his face. I personally found this particular mask a little hard to tell whether it works or not. The package says the charcoal draws out impurities on the skin, but my brother and I couldn't really see much of a difference in that particular aspect. However, it did moisturise the skin. It is not as moisturising as a hydration mask, but it is definitely a lot better than a clay charcoal mask. Also, approximately 2 days after using the mask, his acnes and extractions did heal a lot, but I'm not sure whether it's from the mask or if it's from using the other facial products. Overall, I would try this again just to re-test out the mask and see if the result changes from multiple uses, but I wouldn't recommend this product at the moment as I am not sure of whether it works or not.

I was lucky enough to be included in a trial team for few different Garnier Tissue masks and Skin Active Pure Charcoal Tissue Mask with Black Algae was the first one I decided to try. I have never used tissue masks before as I am more of a 'old fashioned' kind of girl however I quite liked the whole 'new' way of applying a face mask. It was fairly easy to just follow the instructions provided on the package. I must say when I got the mask out of the foil it was a bit messy as there was a lot of liquid coming out. I was not too fussed by it, just an observation. Upon application I quite enjoyed the cooling effect, the smell was subtle and overall quite a nice experience. When I saw 'pure charcoal mask' I got quite excited as normally it does wonders to my skin in terms of purifying effect. I must say it did not cleanse my skin in any special way and I was not wowed by it. In terms of hydrating effect I didn't notice a massive improvement in my skin quality after the treatment. Although i was a nice experience to have the mask applied, I don't think it delivered in terms of its effectiveness. It's not a bad product, but not one I will rush to buy after the trial.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A quick and easy mask The Garnier SkinActive Pure Charcoal Tissue Mask with Black Algae is a purifying tissue mask formulated with charcoal, black algae and hyaluronic acid to refine pores and skin texture, while leaving skin moisturised and soft. It is a black sheet mask (different to many that I have used before). To apply, I simply removed the mask from the packet, unfolded and applied to my face. It fit my face comfortably and easily. If anything it was slightly big, but still comfortable. I left the mask on for about 15 minutes before removing. I found the mask wasn't completely dry when I removed, but I could feel that the serum has started to soak into my skin. As for results, I probably saw the least change in my skin with this mask. Immediately after using the mask my skin felt hydrated and soft. I didn't feel like I needed to apply a moisturiser or anything immediately after removing. My skin was comfortable, but I didn't notice a change in my pores or anything like that. I would use the mask again, but I probably wouldn't choose it over the other Garnier sheet masks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad for a face mask I am used to bulk buying face masks at $1 -$2 but a last minute buy cost me $3.50 for 1 of these masks on special. It does tge same job as tge $1-$2 masks. I liked that the liquid didn't drip down at all and stayed on the black mask. Overall it was moisturising and calmed my face down. I also liked that the ingredients did not contain overly toxic stuff. It's a mild face mask.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy and quick to use A huge thank you to bh for allowing me to be part of the trial team for this face mask. I have oily skin which is prone to blackheads and breakouts. This mask came in an individual packet, where you tear open one side to take the mask out. The mask was easy to unfold (as much as sheet masks are), and then apply to my face. I left it on for about 15-20 minutes as directed to allow it to soak into my skin. The mask had the classic charcoal scent, but wasn't too overpowering. Also, the sheet mask itself was black/charcoal infused, but the actual serum was clear. Once removed, I had some serum left on my skin which I left on overnight, then washed it off in the morning. All in all, a very easy product to use, however I didn't feel like it made much of a difference in terms of clearing impurities or controlling shine. Perhaps if I used it regularly once a week I would notice more of a difference.

I have troublesome skin sometimes so I thought maybe the charcoal would help draw out the impurities, or make it feel a bit clearer. The mask is black! Which made me look like a Ninja and gave my hubby a good giggle - but obviously to be expected with charcoal. It's a earthy sort of smell which wasn't really up my alley, but again it's charcoal so that's to be expected. I must have also got it a bit close to my eyes because it made them sting a bit. The mask itself was a bit thicker than what I had used in the past too. However it didn't make my skin flare up (I had excema as a kid, so it's quite sensitive) but I didn't really feel any benefits either. I think you would need to use it more than once to actually see if it helped clear up the skin - I would imagine that it would as it has the charcoal in it. I'm keen to try the other masks as they might be more suited to me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I was sent one of these masks to try, I like the packaging, its lightweight, sleek looking and would be an easy mask to pack when you travel.\nThe packaging was easy to open and the mask easy to remove and apply. The mask cloth is a quite sturdy material that is well soaked in product, but with no dripping. There was some product left over in the packet, however I tend to save that and use it later in the day or the next morning to save wastage. The mask was easy to manoeuvre the contours of my face, however I did have a bit of trouble with the eye area. I just couldn't get it to sit correctly. \nI have quite sensitive skin, so on application there was a bit of stinging and burning sensation, however this happens with most new products I try; when introducing a different or new active ingredient and only lasted about a minute and had no lasting effect, my face was not red after using it. In fact quite the opposite. \nAfter the 15 minutes is up, you take off the mask and are left with quite a bit of serum on the skin. This was very quickly and easily absorbed into the face and neck with a bit of a massage. The serum left a tacky sticky feel to the skin.\nImmediately after use I noticed a heap of my pores had "shrunk" in size. They looked less pronounced and the skin looked 'bouncy'. This didn't happen with all the larger pores on my face but enough to see somewhat of a difference. The skin also felt amazingly smooth after the mask.  After about an hour my face felt quite tight, so I did have to go in with another moisturiser over the top, but that didn't take away from the lovely smooth look and feel of my skin. The coolness of the mask also temporarily helped with the appearance of redness on my skin. \nSo after such a stellar review you may wonder why I only gave it 3 stars? Well the packaging states that the best results are achieved after using 3 of the masks consecutively. Which begs the question of why is the mask not sold or marketed in 3 packs then???  \nAs a result of using the mask only once, how can I comment on the best results able to be achieved??  Having said that I am keen to buy a few more of this mask and giving it a good test run, as the instantaneous results make me hope for greater things after 3 uses.\n

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This mask was very easy to apply and stayed in place well on my face so I could wear it and still move around without worrying about it slipping off or dripping. It was very genereously soaked and quite soggy and wet to handle, but my skin did feel noticibly more hydrated after taking it off. I didn't notice any reduction in the size of my pores which was disappointing, but maybe this would improve with further use? It's hard to say after only one application. Overall it is a nice mask for a quick burst of hydration to use before a big event, or great to use as a refresher while travelling but I don't think I would purchase this regularly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This was easy to use and didn’t have a pungent smell like I have found some have. I didn’t notice a major difference in my skin but it did leave it feel so clean and fresh. I would try it again to see if regular use makes an improvement.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I was really excited for this because I had previously tried the Garnier Hydro Bomb tissue masks and loved those. I really enjoyed the concept of a tissue mask hydrating the skin while simultaneously minimising pores. The mask was very easy to apply and had a great fit. It had a light scent. It also felt really cooling and soothing on the skin when applying and wearing it. When I removed the mask, there was a lot of serum left on my skin that I massaged into my face and neck, which absorbed quickly. I immediately noticed that my skin was smooth and hydrated and my pore size was significantly smaller. I used this mask during my night time skincare routine and noticed that this is better off used alone as it made my other serums peel off. The next day I was disappointed to have woken up to my face covered in new breakouts that were definitely caused by this product. I would not recommend this to those with acne prone skin.

I was excited to see that Garnier had released some new sheet masks specially infused with charcoal and black algae. I chose the hydrating and purifying formula as part of my weekly prep leading up to my wedding.\nFirstly, the packaging is pretty standard and simple for a sheet mask, a thin foil like packet which easily tears open. The mask was generously drenched in skincare goodness, the sheet is black in colour which is unusual compared to what I'm used to.\nThere's no real scent to the mask and it stays easily on the face, it didn't slip around uncomfortably.\nThe formula itself though made my face feel a little dry rather than hydrated, I've used other masks in the past either sheet or cream based that feel nourishing while wearing them. This one made my face feel tight and it didn't feel as supple as I expected it to once I removed it.\nI would definitely try the other masks in the range to try the different benefits.\n

Rated 3 out of 5 by from After returning from a holiday where I spent every day lying on the beach, my skin had become real dry and needed a boost. This mask was the perfect thing for my skin providing instant cooling soothe sensation to my sun-damaged skin, as well as provide and retain moisture to my face. My skin was silky smooth, plump and looked brighter. I'm not sure it did anything for my pores though. Will give it another go

The product only contains one mask and is not resealable meaning you have to always use it as a full face mask and cannot use it on smaller areas such as using it just on your nose or cheeks. For the price and packaging wastage I probably wouldn't repurchase.

My skin felt refreshed, smooth, clean and i noticed that my pores had reduced slightly in size after use. This product helped clear up some of that lovely time of the month breakout, but it’s important to note that it wasn’t miraculously cleared over night. Suitable for my skin type, however probably would not recommend the product for those with highly sensitive skin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from After using this tissue mask, my skin instantly looked clear and dewy with my pores evidently smaller than what they were pre-mask. The mask was easy to use and had a really nice scent to it, making the 15 minute wait to wear it quite relaxing. At times, I did feel my face had slightly reacted to the product (my face was pretty red after taking it off). However, I do have sensitive skin so I wasn’t too concerned. Overall, a great product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This was a really interesting mask.  I quite liked the light scent which was not overpowering.  There was plenty of essence which I could use to rub into my neck and into my face after removing the mask. I noticed some tightening of my pores which was great.  Really like this mask.
