They're definitely a cute design, but functionality isn't great. They're very thin and they leaked for us every time. Unfortunately wouldn't purchase these.

Very thin and the material is quite tough compared to the other Huggies ranges. They get very saggy as we only after one we and the side tabs break very easily.

They are however very affordable so may be good for during the day when nappy changes are more frequent. They are a really cute design also.

Although I have had good experiences in general with the Huggies brand, this particular range of nappies are not my favourite. With good absorption and fun patterns they are a good alternative however I found they did not fit my babies very well.

I also found them not to be as soft as other nappies I had used. Cute pictures on them and are more affordable then other huggies nappies

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Huggies Essiential nappies Trialing many different nappies on our newborn, I found these not as soft and absorbent as others. I found these didnt hold up against those nasty poop explosions and I’d have to have a full outfit change when that occurred. As our little one grew and nappies were of a shortage I had to purchase these ones again. I found the next sizes up of this brand were not as bad as having them on a newborn. They fit better and we’re not as bulky. I believe they still don’t absorbs as much as other nappies but for a cheaper price they do the job and I would recommend them for day time use, just change them frequently or when needed.

I found them good during the day but they didn't hold up for night time. My son is almost 10kg. I had a bit of trouble making sure they were secure around the waist and legs. I would be interested to try the next size up. The print was very cute with Mickey Mouse.

They dont hold as much, you definitely can’t use them over night and they just seem pretty low quality. For the low price they’re ok but you can get better nappies for a similar price range. I wouldn’t buy these again

The material is thinner than the other ranges (Ultra Dry and Ultimates) so I found I needed to change it more often with these ones. It is very basic so if your child’s output is not a lot then this would be sufficient. My child has a high output so I would prefer the more premium ranges for higher absorbency.

I try to change bub each feed but if he slept longer than usual he had a few leaks. Overall ok as a back up but would stick to the more expensive huggies

I like the fit, and the wetness indicator is always good... but I seem to get lots of leaks with them. Regular huggies I could probably leave on all night without leaks.

I would not recommend trying these especially when huggies have some other great nappies on the market. They are a little bit cheaper but you pay for what you get. Try another type.

That’s why I thought I try the essential range because they are cheaper than the other Huggies nappies. Unfortunately it’s not the best nappy from Huggies. They are not as soft as others. I didn’t have any problems with them. Just prefer the ultra dry ones.

I was gifted them so didn’t purchase them myself, however, they turned out to be ok. I don’t know how good the absorbency would be if you weren’t doing frequent changes though.

We had less leaks from these when he was in size 1 and 2. However once we went up to size 3 he would be wet not even halfway into the night. No other size 3 and up nappy that I've tried leaked so quickly and so often.

They did tend to leak fairly often out top, though this could be an honest mistake of ours too, being first time new parents. They are very affordable and soft on babies bottoms

I felt like I had to change them more frequently not making them very cost effective. I continue to use Huggies original for the little bit of extra money you spend is definitely worth it!

Initially we thought that they were alright, but then we had too many blow outs. They are a lot thinner than the other Huggies nappies. Therefore they are less absorbent. I like that they have the wetness indicator on them.

It still contains the wet line indicator which is my must have in a nappy. The mickey mouse print is pretty cute and gender neutral. I would still prefer buying the Huggies nappies from the high end range than this one. This would be something I would buy for daycare and for baby to wear during the day.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could Be Better over the past few months I've been trialing a few nappies with my Bub, I personally want too fond of this range of buggies nappies, I felt like even after an hour or two the nappy was damp on the outside even when the nappy wasn't full, and it really did not last overnight, by the time its morning the nappy is basically overflowing and her clothes saturated.

I find that huggies overall are pretty good quality, but for some reason, these ones are thinner, worse quality and not that great to use. I really am not a fan of them at all and I find that they leak all the time.

I brought the essentials nappies at the chemist when I forgot the nappy bag and was surprised by how disappointed I was in them. They are very thin and definitely not as absorbent as the other huggies nappies which I guess is reflected in the price but still not worth it in my opinion.

No issues. Can't really complain other than during the night. Not the best nappy out there but a good alternative if you couldn't find the ones you prefer.

They are good for day time but I have found they leak sometimes, due to not being as absorbent as the Huggies Ultimate nappies. Overall, they are good value for money and do the job.

We are happy with the pricing of the nappy (budget) but the nappies are thin and not as soft or absorbent as the ultimate nappies. Have only tried these once and I will go back to the premium Huggies (or other brands).

What I have found with these nappies is that they tend to be on the smaller side compared to other huggies nappies. While they are cheaper than other huggies nappies (or can be bought on special more often), they sometimes dont fit.

I much prefer the ultra dry nappies or the premium nappies as they are much softer and more absorbent than the essential range. My baby actually developed nappy rash while wearing these nappies. I am unsure if it is a coincidence or not.

Good thing is this one got a cute Mickey print all over. I use this nappy for daytime and Huggies Ultimate for night time or dayout as Ultimate is thicker and softer.
