I have purchased a few of the cheaper brands of nappies and found they don't wick the moisture away as well so I usually purchase the Huggies ultra dry nappies for my son. I was surprised by the quality of the essential range. They don't wick as fast as the ultra dry (but faster than other cheap nappies) and they need changing more often but the gel doesn't feel weird when wet like some other brands. I'll still use ultra drys as my main nappy but I'd happily use these in a pinch.

I have used Huggies essential before (new born size) but they were always leaking. These are way better than the ones for newborns. I still prefer Huggies Ultimate over the essentials.

Makes it way easier to put on wriggling babies/toddlers. My husband was super impressed by the accuracy of the 'wee' indicator, so that was also a big plus also. Unfortunately what lets these down a little for me is the material. They have a 'plasticy' feel and so are not soft enough for me to make these our regular nappies. Also I wasn't a fan of the design - I wish it was something more neutral.

They go around the bum cheeks properly where some nappies seem to go to one side or ride up the bum. The designs adorable, they hold everything in them extremely well and bub seems to be comfortable in them.

I had bad experience years ago with the essential Nappies from Huggies, but it looks like they have fixed the problems with these ones. We had no leaks and they feel premium. I still prefer the ultimate, because they feel luxury and feel like they can last and cope much longer than the essential ones.

I would not encourage you to buy them in the early days as this does not matter and they are changed just as much as other brands. However, it is of great benefit when bub is older.

These are a great alternative to buying normal huggies. They still have good elastic around the edges and are very absorbent, maybe just slightly thinner than normal huggies. I am finding they are much more cost effective for out family and am so far quite happy with the switch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not what I was expecting I bought these as they were cheaper then the normal huggies I buy, I wasn’t expecting the nappy I bought but was not disappointed either. They don’t have that thick padding I find the other huggies have but I have had no leak through between a good 12hr change. I find it holds wees and poos well. No offensive smell some other nappy brands have. Whether coinsidence or not, my little one doesn’t wake wanting a change either. These hold the moisture quite well and draw it away from the skin. Some nights with other brands or huggies, he feels “sweaty” from the nappy moisture. Would definitely buy again.

They are also well priced and easily can tell the front from back even overnight. Overall, they were a great product which I would happily use again.

They still work and do not cause any irritation for our little boy however we did find that they are a small make therefore making you have to change sizes more regularly and they do sometimes leak.

This Huggies nappy just fit a little different around the legs and smelt once the nappy was full. They are a great price to buy though.

My daughter is in size 4 and is great for both day and night. The tabs are super stretchy compared to other brands i have tried and i also like they are gender neutral. Wish they came in bigger pack sizes.

It turned out to be good. I had some issues with the waistband, so I am using one size bigger. Size 4 instead of size 3, and it is very good for overnight use . This is a great option for sticking to huggies brand, and is a preffered diaper for many childcare services.

I only use it on my child during daytime and if we are only at home. It tends to sag a lot compared to other nappies. Leakage wise it's good.

They are also very affordable, which is another bonus point. The only thing I found that was as my son got older they weren’t as good as when he was a newborn but I would definitely recommend them for children around newborn to 4 months.

Huggies have always been a preferred product in our household and we continue to use it for each and every grandchild. Just ensure to put the straps on the sides on securely and pull out the frills around the inside of the thighs and this product is just as good as the other Huggies nappies.

The only problem is, they don't do the greatest job. I found they leaked way too often. They are just not value for money. You need more than cute when it comes to nappies
