Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best leave in I purchased a few of these I have curly bleached hair ,it is amazing I used it as a conditioner and also the best thing I found was as a leave in conditioner ,I don't need to apply any other products whatsoever it's really a lifesaver for me as it makes my curls soft and also treats them at the same time ,I would highly recommend this whole brand ,thereby are a few different types all smell beautiful

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! I am usually really lazy with my hair care. I shampoo and I condition, but I don't do much else besides that. This mask could not have come at a better time. So how do you use it? It can be used a few different ways: 1. Use as a conditioner - instead of using my usual conditioner, I would put this in instead, leaving it in for a minute or two before rinsing it out. 2. As a mask - Use after your conditioner and leave in for 5 or so minutes before rinsing out. 3. As a leave in treatment - post shower, apply a small amount into damp hair and then style as usual. My favourite way to use it is as a mask. I apply it after the conditioner, put it in for about 5 minutes (usually while shaving or doing a full body scrub) and then rinse out. After using it as a mask I always find that my hair feels so soft and light once I dry it. It looks shiny and smells amazing. I often find that hair products make my hair oily, but I haven't found it with this treatment. I am so in love with how my hair feels after using this treatment! I use it every other wash and my hair has been looking so much healthier since I started using it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very concentrated I LOVE THIS HAIR MASK! The packaging is a huge round tub with a twist off lid. It looks like a big tub of yoghurt. It smells good enough to eat and I noticed the packaging says DO NOT EAT. The fragrance is papaya and it is sweet but not sickly. Love it! The mask itself is white and thick. You only need a small amount and it spreads through your hair very easily. I used about a tablespoon of it as a conditioner/mask in one and my hair felt silky smooth afterwards. It made my super-long hair much easier to brush. My hair was still frizzy the next morning after a dry brush but I have found that only leave-in products fix that. I haven't had time to try it as a leave in conditioner but you would need only the tiniest bit. I love that the ingredients are explained on the packaging. It gives me confidence that the brand is trustworthy and proud of their formulas. Hopefully this product is ok to use every wash because I am addicted. You will love this hair mask/conditioner/leave in conditioner. I also can't believe how great value this product is. This huge tub will last forever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it First thing first, this hair mask smells amazing and it lingers for a couple of days (even after I've washed my hair). It smells very sweet and tropical, much like mango and peach and just a hint of papaya. The product says it does not contain parabens, silicone and artificial colourants, which is a huge plus for damaged, fine hair like mine. The cream is rich and luxurious. I use it as conditioner, after shampoo and apply on my hair except the root and scalp, wait for about a minute then rinse. Hair feels light and smooth and very easy to comb. I love that this product doesn't weigh my hair down or make it more oily like other silicone-based hair conditioners. The jar packaging is a bit disappointing though, as it could be messy in the shower. But a bonus point is that the jar is huge and I only need as little as the size of a 10c coin for each use. For the retail price of $11.95, I think this is such a bargain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YUM I've always been a fan of Garnier products. They always smell amazing and the scent lingers even after a few days. In regards to this product, I gotta say I'm not a huge fan of papaya but the product smells amazing! It smells sweet like mangoes from the packaging but when you put it on, you definitely can smell the papaya. There are different ones in their line, so if you don't like the scent but want beautiful hair, you can op for one of the others. It's very natural, thick and creamy. After use, your hair will feel soft and nourished. Even for fine hair like mine, it did not feel like my hair was weighed down. There are 3 ways to use it: 1. As a hair mask: After shampoo, apply onto wet hair and leave on for 1 minute. Rinse. 2. As a conditioner: After shampoo, apply to hair from root to tip. Rinse. 3. As a leave-in treatment: Apply on damp hair for frizz control and color protection. I left my hair to naturally dry after using it as a mask and it looked so soft and healthy! The packaging is great. I'm loving the bright colours!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from amazing! I absolutely loved using the Garnier Fructis Repairing Hair Food, especially the papaya flavour! It smelt delicious and did wonders for my hair, transforming it from dry and damaged to vibrant and lush. It was a very simple product to use as either a conditioner or a hair mask. My hair felt a lot softer and healthier after one wash. My sister who has wavy hair also used the product and it helped to define her curls a lot. Seeing as the product comes at such a low price, I would recommend it to everyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good conditioner/hair mask This product is great for nourishing dry hair. I have used it both as a conditioner and as a hair mask and found that it works well in both scenarios. This was one of the first conditioners that I used and I noticed a significant difference, my hair used to be dry and dull but now it is hair soft and silky. The product does a good job of preventing my hair from drying out. The product does not use silicone so it doesn't build up on the hair and weigh it down, good for fine hair like mine. The design makes it easy to scoop out the product and apply it to the hair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Product for me! The Garnier Fructis Repairing PAPAYA HAIR FOOD is A lovely all round, multi-purposed product, that leaves my hair feeling soft, lightweight, healthy and nourished. It not only smells divine, it’s worth its price, it has a great texture & consistency. I tend to use it more for my dry ends, it’s a great conditioner and of course hair mask. I don’t mind using the tub, but it really would be great if you didn’t have to stick your fingers in. It would be awesome if it came in a squeeze bottle. Overall, very happy with product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Adds moisture and helps repair hair This is a great product for when my hair gets very dry. It’s super easy to use, I just smooth it on after shampooing and leave for a few minutes and rinse. It has he most delicious fragrance and makes my hair smell amazing and after using this my hair is so easy to style and feels really soft and silky and it’s so much shinier. This is a great leave in conditioner for winter as it helps repair damage and hydrates my hair. At $12.00 it’s great value for money and I only need to use it once a week. An added bonus for me is that it also helps control frizz, I have very thick hair so this extra moisture makes my hair so much more manageable. I really like garnier products and I love this papaya hair food. I would recommend it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect size I love the Hair food Mask! My hair loves it too ! It smells amazing! The price point this product is at and the amount of cream you get is amazing! I have thick hair & it takes a lot of product. I use this product apart of my styling routine. I have dry, frizzy tick curly hair ! & this product is Curly Hair friendly! The products are gentle and good for curly hair. And its approved for Curly hair. I use this cream along with the Gariner serum perfect combo

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It does the job I've been using this for the past 6 months, my hair feels and looks healthy and this is my second Garnier hair mask, impressed with the quality and the price. It leaves the hair smelling gorgeous for days. I used it as a conditioner, mask, and leave-in treatment and all results were soft, easy to comb, and healthy hair. I would highly recommend it and would repurchase it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product Wasn't keen on this when I first used it or the smell. Would have preferred the banana one but not suitable for my hair type. I applied all over my hair but found it weighed it down too much as I have fine hair. I use it on the odd ocassion but apply it to the ends of my hair only which works better. Today I applied to the ends of my hair and left the product in which made my ends easier to style without my hair frizzing. Its just like any other conditioner but alot thicker. Im still undecided whether I will buy it again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing smelling Yes the fragrance is definitely a winner here! Smells amazing. Apart from that, the value is also amazing. The product is a little thick which makes it hard to regulate how much you use. I always felt I was using too much. Great as a conditioner but for me the best use was as a leave in treatment. I have very fine curly hair, which is extremely hard to get my 'rake' through. But I add this product after I towel dry my hair and it makes combing it a breeze. And leaves my hair feeling incredibly soft!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Food for hair At first, I was sceptical because it is quite cheap for a big bottle of mask. However, it is surprisingly good and the scent is good as well. According to the direction stated on the container, it can be used as a conditioner, mask or leave-on. However, I used it as conditioner or mask treatment only. It leaves the hair soft and smooth without making the hair oily after using it especially after applying a generous amount to the hair and leave it for half an hour. The scent may stay on the hair for all day if you used it as a mask treatment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I liked how the product was paraben and silicone free. What a fantastic product, I just love the sweet small it is so addictive, the easy to open container is great as well, To use you only need a small amount as a little goes a long way. My hair was so flat with no life, I needed something that I could use to be quick in the mornings, and this was it, I would apply in the morning as I had my shower, and leave in for about one minute then rinse off, It rinsed out quite easy leaving my hair feeling great

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Garnier Repairing Papaya Hair Food About the product: The Garnier Repairing Papaya Hair Food comes in a 390ml white and orange plastic tub with a orange screw top lid. The consistency of the treatment is quite creamy, it has good slip and is easy to work through the lengths of the hair. The scent of the treatment is very pleasant, quite a light, sweet, fruity scent from the papaya. My thoughts on the product: I have tried all of the Hair Food masks by Garnier now with the exception of the Goji. This is my second favourite in the range, after the macadamia version. I find that I do need to use a very generous amount of product (about the size of 2x 50c coins) for my very long, thick hair; but having said this I have been able to get approx 15+ applications out of one tub so that is actually really good. I only used this product as a hair mask, applied to shampooed hair and left in for up to five minutes before rinsing out. I found it to wash out very easily with no residual film, tackiness or weighed down feeling left behind in the hair. After using the mask my hair is left feeling soft, smooth, easier to brush and delicately scented with the delicious papaya scent. I can't say that I have noticed any difference in regards to repairing damage (split ends, frizz) but I have noticed when using the mask the lengths of my hair don't feel as dry, they feel softer and smoother, not so coarse and dry. The final verdict: I quite like this mask, it is my second favourite in the range after the macadamia one. Whilst I haven't seen any damage repair I have noticed that it leaves my hair softer, smoother and more easier to manage. The results last 1-2 days which is quite good given the very affordable price tag of this mask. I will most likely be purchasing again in the future if I see it on special.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product - really loved it! I was given this product by a friend as she had used and not liked it so was interested to trial it myself. Firstly the smell is incredible!! I really loved the texture as well you could really feel it was going to have a great effect on your hair. I left it for the reccomended time and after 2 uses found a real change to my hair texture. Loved it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helpful Unfortunately I have always been a sufferer of oily scalp and dry ends with my hair. I thought I would try out this mask as others moisturizing hair masks make my hair so oily and limp. The fact that this product claims to be 90% all natural was very appealing to me. The mask smells delicious and I use it on the ends of my hair every second day when I wash it. It goes on smoothly and leaves my hair quite soft afterwards. As much as I do like this product I wouldn't call it a 'mask' it is more just like a heavy conditioner for me. Coz of this I have only given it 4 stars as it isn't a hydrating treat for my hair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Soft hair and great smell I bought this conditioner based only on the fresh packaging and the special price of $5.99 but it packs a punch. The smell is amazing, fruity and fresh. My hair is curly and frizzy so I am always on the hunt for a conditioner that been nourish my hair. I left this conditioner on for a couple of minutes in the shower and found my hair to be soft after washing it out with a great clean smell. The only real downside is the tub packaging does get a bit waterlogged in the shower.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smells amazing I have used the Garnier Fructis Repairing Papaya Hair Food several times now. I have used it as a hair mask, conditioner and leave in, as suggested by the packaging. Upon receiving the product I’m the mail I was intrigued by the name ‘hair food’ as it implies nutrients for hair. As the name suggests I definitely felt as if my hair was had more nutrients. The product itself has a very sweet yet organic papaya scent which smells delicious. The product itself is thick and white. Applying it to wet hair I did have to use quite a lot of product in order to fully cost my hair in the product. After using the product my hair felt very soft, lightweight and silky... however I did notice it didn’t give my hair any volume which I found to be a bit disappointing. Overall though, I thoroughly enjoyed using the product and will continue to do so.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome multi-use product I was quite impressed whth this product and was surprised as I have never had much luck with the garnier fructuse range. I found that the packaging was not ideal as you had to stick your hand in and therefore was slightly messy and not greatly convenient. However the consistency was lovely, not too thick or too thin and allowed for smooth application. Once applied and smoothed through my wet hair it instantly felt smoother and more manageable. I have used this as both a conditioner and hair mask and will continue to use both ways. I probably wouldn't use as a leave in conditioner as I feel it would leave hair wet looking. I found this product made it easier to brush and style my hair afterwards and helped to nourish my dry split ends and defrizz my wavy hair. The only negative is the scent which I found to be quite overpoweringly fruity, a scent i don't typically gravitate towards

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I am obsessed!! I really enjoyed trialling this product, thank you beautyheaven for sending this product! What I loved the most about this product was the smell and the way it left my hair feeling so hydrated and healthy. I used for three days and I really did see how much of a difference the product did to my hair. My hair is quite damaged and dry from the heat tools I use to curl my hair. I also have a lot of split ends, the product has made my hair look so healthy and helped with restoring my damaged hair. I use this product more as a conditioner because I don't have time to really put this product as a mask. I think it would be better to use it as a mask that way, you can really get better results than just using it as a conditioner. I wish the packaging would be in a tube, it would be much easier to dispense. Other than that, I enjoyed this product so much and I definitely repurchase this product!! I actually love the new range that garnier fructis has been coming out with. I am not disappointed!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great all rounder for hair conditioning This hair food product is marketed as a multi-purpose hair treatment product that can be used as a normal conditioner, a hair mask or as a leave in conditioning product and is said to contain 98% natural/plant based ingredients and does give you a feel that this is very much more natural than other hair products out there - talk about great marketing! That aside, I've only used the hair food it as a hair conditioner or a mask and I must say I really enjoy, the thick goopy cream that you scoop from the tub to rub into your hair and its ends. During the shower I would leave it for up to 3 minutes while I lather up my body and rinse it off before rinsing out the conditioner. I always blow dry my hair after washing as I have very thick hair and it would take me forever to naturally air dry in this cool winter weather. I've found after using this papaya hair food that I have less hair breakages during blow drying and brushing. I also noticed that my hair feels soft, is lighter in feel and has more volume and isn't weighed down by the use of silicone based products that I normally use (to keep my frizz at bay) but it still manages to keep the hair frizziness at bay. I'd definitely keep using this product and at great prices when on special at the supermarkets, I'd be definitely picking up another tub when I finish up with the current one. A must try for anyone wanting softer hydrated hair without the silicone weight

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Hair Mask Thank you beautyheaven for including me in the trial team for the Garnier Fructis Repairing Papaya Hair Food. I haven't used a Garnier hair product for a long time as none seemed to go well with my hair so I was surprised to say the least at how good this was! My hair is long, thick, uncoloured and sometimes gets a bit coarse so I like to use a hair mask once a week. So the product comes in a white tub with an orange lid and label with green and white print. I was surprised at how big the tub was and it was also full of product (no half-full container nonsense here!). The product is a creamy white colour and it's consistency reminded me of Greek yoghurt. The smell was definitely papaya and a bit strong but not too overpowering once applied. The label reads that it can be used as a hair mask, conditioner or leave-in. I first used it as a hair mask. After shampooing my hair like normal I applied the product to the mid-lengths and ends of my hair and combed through with a wide tooth comb. The instructions say to leave it for 1min however I left it for about 5-10min before rinsing. My hair felt so soft and smooth after and it stayed that way until the next wash. Off to a great start! I tried it as a conditioner next and unfortunately it felt a bit heavy. My hair was still soft and smooth however it seemed to become oily on the top of my scalp after a day or two. As a leave-in it was way too heavy and I ended up washing my hair after applying it because of this. I would recommend the Garnier Fructis Repairing Papaya Hair Food as a hair mask for sure, the silky, soft, smoothness after use was awesome!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hydrating hair mask So you can apparently use this as a hair mask (by leaving it in for a few minutes), as a conditioner (by using it after a shampoo and rinsing it immediately... although why would you unless you’re strapped for time. Also, I feel like this doesn’t count since you can do this with any hair mask), and as a leave in treatment (by applying on damp hair for frizz control and colour protection). I thought the leave in treatment was interesting considering most hair masks are normally rinse out. To be honest, I have only tried this on dry hair because washing my hair is so much effort, I tend to zone out and not bother with it after towel drying and then remember that I should’ve tried this mask on damp hair after my hair is bone dry. I only used a tiny bit on dry hair, as I didn’t want to weigh my hair down. It did a good job at moisturising my ends. However, I feel like this can be achieved with other leave in treatments. The hair mask does smell great though, so that is a plus, especially if you’re going to be using this as a leave in treatment. It is also fairly nourishing and hydrating. Although my bleached damaged ends do need a little bit of TLC (in the form of a leave in treatment) after. Unfortunately, as I have only used this a handful of times, I am unable to comment on whether this mask effectively repairs my hair. It is a hair mask worth checking out if you’re in the market for a moisturizing hair mask.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's definitely papaya heaven! Oh dang... You should have seen the look of disappointment on my face when I unwrapped this hair product and realised what it was - the packaging so closely resembled a tub of ice cream, and I, forgetting what was coming in the mail, was so excited about it because I was hungry, that I was a little sad when it turned out it wasn't edible. But I digress... Speaking of edible, aside from the amazing packaging that made me think of food, the scent of it is incredible! But I'm going off track again! Let's start with the packaging - it's a white tub with bright colours on it, which makes it look like fun. When you open the tub, you'd be hit by an amazing, fruity papaya scent. The product itself is an opaque creamy lotion, which kinda reminds me of a jam. But you haven't heard anything yet! This actually has several functions: 1) This can be used as a conditioner 2) If left on for a minute after washing and rinsing out your shampoo and conditioner, this can be used as a mask 3) It can also be used as a leave-in conditioner As a conditioner, this does leave my hair feeling quite soft, and by concentrating on the ends, I didn't find that this weighed my hair down at all. As a mask, I didn't think it was too different from being a conditioner, sadly, but I will continue to use it as a mask from time to time. As a leave-in conditioner, I actually found this to be a bit of a winner, AND I could still smell it in my hair regularly throughout the day - amazing! Just don't be too heavy handed with this as a leave-in conditioner! Packed with goodness from papaya, sunflower seed and coconut, this is actually a 98% natural origin formula. Try it for yourself!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Smells amazing but prefer the macadamia one This hair food comes in a large white tub with a bright orange lid and a cute papaya design on the label. The first thing I noticed upon opening this was the lovely fruity smell, which reminded me of a papaya fruit salad or smoothie. I have tried both this one and the macadamia one in this range, and I have to say I prefer the macadamia one only because it felt a lot more moisturising for my hair. I think the macadamia one has more nourishing ingredients like jojoba oil, macadamia oil, etc, whereas the papaya one didn't seem to have as many moisturising ingredients included. I prefer the colour of the papaya one though, as the hair food is white coloured whereas the macadamia hair food is almost brownish in colour and just looks a bit off somehow, even though I'm sure that's just because of the oil-types in that one and the fact it's mostly natural ingredients. On that note, that is another reason I really like this range - the fact they include 98% natural origin ingredients. It's not really that easy for me to find an affordable yet mostly natural product for my hair that works, so this product is just what I've been wanting. While it doesn't have the best result like other salon professional masks, it still works pretty well and the smell is so summery and uplifting. I will definitely re-purchase the macadamia and maybe this one, although I'm eyeing off the banana one next. Also, the consistency is nice and thick so it spreads in my hair mid-lengths and ends well without slipping and sliding too much, which is another win. Overall I'd recommend this to anyone on a budget who wants to nourish their hair (I get mine when they're half price for around $6). Works best as a mask but also can be used as a conditioner or leave-in.
