The smell is amazing and the product itself triples as a hair mask, conditioner or leave in conditioner. I have curly hair that just soak product up so I frequently use it as a leave in conditioner after I have showered. It leaves my hair non greasy, soft and smelling very lush.

Good enough to eat (I did somehow manage to resist having a taste though) After using it, my hair smells absolutely lovely. I like that this Nourishing Banana Hair Food can be used in three ways - as a Conditioner, a Mask or a Leave-in treatment. For me, I have found it works best as a mask. For an extra moisture boost, I will leave the product in overnight and then wash in out in the morning. My hair is left feeling very soft, smooth and shiny Because my hair is quite fine, using it as a leave-in was a bit too heavy for my hair and left it looking a but greasy, even after using a small amount. So I put some water into a spray bottle and added some of this conditioner, and I found this works better for me. I'd be keen to give some of the other treatments a go and see if they are as

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nourishing & leaves a long lasting, gorgeous scent Background on my hair; my hair is coloured, and tends towards dry ends (oily roots when a new product doesn't agree with my hair). I was intrigued by the multifunctional properties of this product - a conditioner, masque, and leave-in treatment! The tub is practical when used for a leave-in treatment, but not so much when taken into the shower (make sure you don't let it fill up with water). Aside from this, the consistency is rich, creamy, and luxurious. The scent - oh my - I absolutely love it! This was the stand out feature for me. It smells of "natural" sweet bananas, rather than smelling artificial. The closest thing I could compare the scent to would be a desert, with fresh bananas and icecream. The scent is long lasting, which I adore. When used as a treatment, I used a small amount and ran through the mid-lengths to ends. It did not leave my hair feeling heavy or weighed down, but rather nourished and silky. As a conditioner and masque, I experienced much the same effect. Additionally, it didn't leave my roots looking oily, which was a huge plus! Would definitely recommend this product.

The product is a great thickness and easy to apply to your hair. Sometimes we use it as a replacement conditioner. It leaves our hair feeling soft and nourished after using it. My hair felt softer, stronger, shiner and just overall looked amazing! This probduct was so easy to use and one I will add to my hair care routine from now on! It came in a great tub and I was able to easily scoop out the desired about I wanted to use each time. I then stored the tub in my shower. There is lots of product and it will last me a while before I need to buy another one. It left my hair smelling amazing as well as nourished. I loved that it was mostly natural and it just added to the products appeal. Used conjunction with the shampoo and conditioner my hair looks and feels the best it has in a long time. The hair food really feeds my hair the goodness it’s been needing for quite some time.

I have been using this generously sized 390ml tub of Garnier Fructis Nourishing Banana Hair Food as my weekly deep conditioning treatment for a couple of weeks now and am really loving the results! My hair is quite damaged and dry due to bleaching and with the cooler weather we've had lately it has become even drier! It always needs a good deep treatment regularly, but especially now and coming into winter. I love that this intense treatment smells like freshly chopped bananas! It isn't that sickly sweet lolly scent or that over ripe smell. It is so fresh!! The formula is completely white and about medium thick so it's really easy to lather up and work through your hair making sure it coats every strand. It is made up of 98% natural origin with no paragons, artificial colourants or silicons which is always nice to hear and I prefer to use products which adopt this formula. This product is designed for dry hair types which exactly describes my hair to a T! Since using the product my hair feels a lot softer. It did so after the first use. Drying my hair with my hair dryer didn't seem to effect the moisture levels of my hair as much as it usually does. I like the diversity of this product which can be used on both wet or dry hair. In addition to using it weekly in the shower, I have also used it overnight a few times to really let the ingredients work their magic throughout my course, dry hair. It really makes such a beautiful difference the next day after you wash it all out and dry/style like usual. Overall nice a lovely product and I really adore the smell too! Would highly recommend and will be re-purchasing to use throughout the rest of winter this year.

I'm in love :) I was really intrigued to try this hair mask (it's described as an intense conditioner but I loved using it as a leave in treatment and mask) I've never used anything with banana for my hair. Firstly, it smells delicious! Almost edible, like a banana smoothie. The smell lingers in your hair and I really like it. Another thing I love about it is how natural it is, it doesn't contain parabens, silicones or artificial colourants. I'm becoming more aware of what I use in my beauty routine, so this was a big plus for me. The conditioner is 98% natural origin and breaks down every ingredient on the side of the container and where it's derived from. As far as performance goes, it's fantastic. My hair felt nourished and moisturised after using it, which is so good now the weather is getting colder and wreaking havoc on my hair. My hair can tend to be a little frizzy and this tamed my hair to the point where I didn't need my usual daily serum, but didn't make it feel heavy or greasy. I used this as a conditioner, leave in treatment and mask and loved it. I will definitely be buying more!

As soon as you open the tub a strong scent of sweet banana erupts. Although it smells delectable it is not fit for consumption. I have used this as a leave in mask, applying just a small amount and combing it through well in advance for my usual hair washing routine. As well as an intense treatment, using it after shampoo and conditioner and applying it for about 5 minutes. After using the banana hair food my hair has been noticably softer, hydrated and healthy. It has provided a boyance and bounce to my locks whilst still maintaining its naturally straight texture. The product is ideal for dry hair and the formula is made up of 98% natural ingredients the other 2% is made up of efficacy and preservation. The hair food has been dermatologically tested and comes in a 390ml tub. It is recommended to use the product within 12 months of opening it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Moisturising, sweet-smelling mask I received this as part of a trial from beautyheaven. I also received the Garner nutris shampoo and conditioner the product is designed to be used with. I used all three products together as recommended, but the mask would be fine to use with other products as well. The mask comes in a large tub with a screw lid. While this is standard packaging for many hair masks, it’s not easy to use in the shower compared to a squeeze tube, as you need two hands to open it, then you need to set it down so you can scoop some product out with your fingers, while trying not to get water in it and then screw the lid back on before putting it in your hair. I did manage ok, however I think tubes are easier. The consistency is of a thick, creamy conditioner, which spreads through wet hair nicely. The smell was my favourite part, a sweet, artificial banana fruity smell, which lasts even after my hair is dry. The product can be used as a conditioner on its own, a post conditioner mask, or a leave in treatment. I tried it as all three, but preferred it as a mask the most. I found that it really seemed to nourish and moisturise my hair, which is quite dry. I’s 98% natural, with the remaining 2% necessary for product preservation and efficacy according to the packaging. I think this is a nice touch, and I love that it has no silicone in it. I would buy this again, mainly for the yummy smell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nourishing hair treatment The Garnier fructis nourishing banana hair food is more like a hair treatment than a regular conditioner. It comes in a large 390ml pot with screw top lid and the product is white with a gluggy sort of consistency, a little like conditioner but a bit thicker. It didn't smell at all like bananas to me which i did kind of expect but its a pleasant sweet smell. It says it has no silicones, parabens and artificial colourants which is good but not soemthing i generally think about when buying hair products. It includes a 98% biodegradable formula, vegetable oils is is terminologically tested. I used it for about 15 minutes as a leave in treatment and it left my hair feeling very soft and hydrated, more hydrated than conditioner usually does for me. I have replaced my usual conditioner with this as it does a much better job than conditioner at hydrating the hair. The only thing i would suggest is despite the thick formula it still would have come out of a more convenient squeeze or pump bottle and also be easier to keep the product clean and fresh.

The smell was so lovely and I got a few compliments that my hair smelled great after a shower, drying and styling. It definitely does nourish your hair, I could feel a significant different between when I started using the product and when I ran out of it. If I was going to buy any of the range again, it would be this one. I love the yellow packaging and branding is on point as always with Garnier range- its just fun.

However, i know it’s suppose to smell like banana but i really didn’t like the banana smell on my hair.. that’s the only reason i wouldn’t buy it again. But it was really thick & hydrating on my hair and it comes in a big generous tub & a great price. So it lasted me a long time which is great!

It contains banana, shea butter and coconut oil. It doesn't contain any parabens or silcones. The packaging is attractive on the tub.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great affordable silicone-free alternative to a conditioner/leave-in This product comes in a tub (meaning no product will be leftover, like in tubes) which houses 390ml of product. Garnier claims that it can be used as either a conditioner, leave-in or mask, however, I believe it is not hydrating or creamy enough to be used as a mask. It has a decent consistency, but I was expecting it to be thicker. The smell of this is divine, it makes me want to eat it! As someone with very coarse, curly hair, I like to use this as a detangler. Like I mentioned before, it's not rich enough to be used as a mask, so I use this on wash days where I don't need as much hydration. I love that this is silicone and paraben-free, however, products like these don't have as much slip as regular conditioners so you really have to work at it more. This product is great because it doesn't leave any residue/buildup - making it perfect to use as a leave-in and for people with finer, thinner hair. Next time I'd probably try the Macadamia version as I've heard it is more hydrating.

No parabens, no silicones, no artificial colourants. About the product: The Garnier Banana Nourishing Hair Food Mask comes in a very generous 390ml white and yellow tub with a yellow screw top lid. It can be used as a conditioner: apply to hair after shampoo and then rinse A mask: apply to wet hair after shampoo and conditioner. Leave on for 1 minute, then rinse. A leave in: apply to wet or dry hair. Dispense a 10 cent amount focusing on mid lengths and ends. The consistency of the mask is very creamy, it has excellent slip and is very easy to work through the lengths of the hair. The colour of the mask is pearlescent white. The scent is heavenly, just like fresh bananas. It smells sweet and fruity. It lingers delicately for quite a while after rinsing. My thoughts on the product: I found the scent of this mask to be the best thing about it, the scent is absaloutely heavenly, I was almost tempted to eat it! I found it easy to use, the consistency was lovely and creamy. It is easy to spread through the lengths and ends of the hair. I did have to use a considerable dollop sized amount of product per application as my hair is waist length, thick and wavy. One tub has provided 15-20 applications which, for my hair, is quite generous. I used it as a mask, after washing my hair and left it on for at least five minutes before rinsing. I found it easy to rinse out with no residual film or tacky feel left behind. It wasn't as hydrating or nourishing as I was expecting, the macadamia version in this range is more nourishing than this one. This mask is quite gentle, much too gentle for my hair type. After rinsing my hair was left delicately scented with the scrumptious banana fragrance and felt soft but quite tangled, I needed to use a leave in conditioner to detangle my hair and add hydration to the lengths. The final verdict: A little disappointed with this mask, the scent is definitely the stand out feature of the mask. It is less hydrating than the macadamia version in this range (which wasn't overly hydrating either unfortunately). I loved the scent and ease of use but other than that I would not re purchase this one as it doesn't quite cut it. It leaves my hair smelling nice and feeling soft but that is all. It left my hair tangled after use and a leave in was a must to put hydration back in. Probably better suited for shorter hair types that is in good, healthy condition.

I have used the product as a hair mask after conditioning, as a conditioner and as a leave-in conditioner. I found the product too thick for a leave in conditioner. However thought it amazing as a replacement to conditioner or as a hair mask. My overall preference is to use the product as a hair mask after shampooing and conditioning as usual. My hair is very long and can get quite dry on the ends which often results in splitting. I can see from using this product over the last month how much my hair has improved. It is much softer, and the ends definitely have more moisture. My only complaint (and it is relatively minor) with this product is the packaging. It comes in a large tub which I find cumbersome to use in the shower. I would much prefer a squeeze bottle.

The Nourishing banana Hair food comes in a super generous 390ml white tub with a yellow screw top lid. It states quite clearly on the label and lid that the product is of 98% Natural origin. It also shows that there are no Silicones, Parabens or Artificial colourants. This is great for those that are conscious of the ingredients in the products they use. Because it stands out so well it means you don't have to spend hours reading the ingredients of different products. My hair is naturally really curly and quite dry on the ends. It's also quite thin strands. I often don't use conditioner as it tends to make my hair feel heavy, frizzy and fluffy. The mask itself is a thick white cream and easy to scoop out. It has a lovely subtle scent of bananas. I used it after washing my hair with just shampoo. I was provided with a Garnier shampoo and they worked really well together. I also tried using it with my everyday shampoo and the results were much the same. I tried it as a conditioner by smoothing it through my hair and also as a mask by leaving it in for a few minutes before washing it out. I also tried it as a leave in conditioner by applying a small amount to my hair while it was still wet. As a conditioner it worked really well. I was pleasantly surprised. After using conditioner my hair usually feels a bit slimy or like there still a bit of residue. This didn't do that at all. After washing it out my hair felt lovely and smooth. I didn't apply it to whole head I just stuck to the mid lengths and ends. As a mask I used it the same as you would a conditioner but i left it in for a few minutes. On the tub it suggest 1 minute but i thought with the way my hair is i'd go for a few minutes instead. After washing it out my hair felt lovely and smooth and didn't go fluffy when I dried it I was left smelling the delicious banana scent for a day or so after using which was nice. After a day or two my hair did start to feel a bit greasy. I don't normally have this problem so I think I'd stick to using it as a once a week conditioner. As a leave in treatment my hair felt heavy and almost oily after it dried. I felt like I needed to wash my hair again. It really didn't work for me this way. When using the tiniest amount it wasn't too bad but I think I preferred it as a conditioner. The only negative I had was that the tub was quite large and a bit awkward. In my shower there's no shelving which meant the tub had to sit on the floor. It wouldn't fit into the stand and might be better as a pump bottle. Having a screw top lid it's a pain to use it in the shower and screw the lid on without getting water in it. On the label it suggests pairing the product with Fructis Nutri-Repair 3 range. I think it worked perfectly fine with any other brand of shampoo and hair products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great all rounder! I was a bit hesitant to try this because of the 'banana' scent but it is a very sweet smell. I tried it three different ways, the first few days as a leave-in, then as a mask and then as a conditioner. I find that as a leave-in, because I have oily hair it is a bit too heavy and makes my hair very flat. As a mask it is fantastic! It is so hydrating and leaves your hair soft and luscious. I tried it as a short mask which it says to leave in for 1 minute. It was effective in this short amount of time. I really loved it as a sleeping mask. I put it through my hair and then popped a shower cap on and washed it out in the morning. Definitely a good boost of hydration. I'll probably keep doing this every few weeks. As a conditioner it's fantastic. It is creamy in texture but isn't thick when you apply it to your hair. It feels almost water based so it soaks into your hair super easily. I tried this in conjunction with the Garnier Fructis nutri-repair 3 shampoo and conditioner and all up I think they're a great system to use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Soft and silky finish! I generally think of Garnier as a cheap brand that will never give me the results I am after, however, this product blew my mind. The packaging is cute in a yellow, medium and easy to use tub. The smell of this product is absolutely devine with a strong banana scent. I first used the mask as a conditioner after I had shampooed my hair. The comb glided easily through my hair after I had used it, which is not normal for me after I use conditioner. The next day it felt instantly soft and luscious. I then decided to use it as a mask a few days later. I left it in for about 30 mins and then washed it out. It didn’t weight my hair down like some other masks do. This product is amazing value for money and I will absolutely be recommending this to my girlfriends!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smells delicious I really liked the sound of this product especially for my hair coming into winter. I have very fine, thin hair, that is long so the ends get dry easily but the roots can be oily. I’m also a fan of natural products, and this one is 98% natural so that’s pretty good on that scale. The first thing I noticed was the packaging. It comes in a neat tub, with a screw top lid. The lid is large so you can easily scoop out product, but being a screw top it’s hard to replace the lid before using the product, which is necessary to stop water getting into the container. The next thing I noticed was the scent – it smells like banana but in a really delicious way. The product is reasonably thick which makes it easy to apply to the hair. I used it only on the lengths and ends of my hair, after using the complementary shampoo and conditioner, and left it on for around 1 minute. After my hair was dry, it definitely felt much more hydrated and was smooth and soft. I did find this product was a bit heavy to use after every wash on my fine hair as it seemed to weigh it down slightly. This product is very versatile as it can be used as a conditioner, mask or leave-in conditioner so it is great value for money. The price is very reasonable so I will be considering repurchasing in the future, but given it’s quite a large tub I doubt that will be any time soon!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nourishing and affordable hair treatment Thank you BH for the opportunity to trial the Garnier Fructis Banana Hair Mask! I currently have should length hair, I get oily roots and super dry ends. The product definitely addressed my dry ends! The product comes in a 390mL tube and the consistency is a creamy thick conditioner type of texture which is suitable to scoop out of the tube of desired amount. It's not too thick or pastey so applying it to my hair was quick and easy, rinsing the product was also swift and didn't require a lot of rinsing. There are 3 ways to use this product- as a conditioner, mask and leave in treatment. As a conditioner, it works like every other conditioner, quite similar to their Garnier Fructis Nutri Repair conditioner, nothing too exciting there. As a mask, I have tried leaving it in for 5 to 40mins, I can say that the longer I leave it in my hair the more it has time to do its job! My hair definitely feels the best when using it as a mask! It'll be a 5 minute mask while I do emailing or 40 minute mask while I do some house work. As a leave in treatment, this one I believe is a bit too much for my hair to handle, having oily roots this method just weighs my hair down and in need of a rinse. As mentioned before, using it as a mask has helped make my hair feel more nourished and super soft without interfering my roots, I found it made my hair easier and faster to style as I don't need to reach out for my straightener as often and also less knotty or tangled strands! I like that the mask is formulated without silicones and SLS! Which I give extra stars! The fragrance isn't to my liking but neither does it bothers me, it's a cross between artificial banana fragrance with the typical Garnier Fructis hair product fragrance. I believe the fragrance can be better. However, the packaging is not so appealing and underwhelming, the tube gives the illusion of big quantity but if were made in a squeeze bottle cap it would be more practical because it becomes a bit fiddly to scoop out the product and can't recap it without having my hands full. If the packaging was reformulated to something more easy and practical then I would consider repurchasing it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from so silky! Well what a surprise! This product is such a good concept and idea, it is just what my hair needed! Firstly the idea of banana in there is positive its the type of product I want to put in my hair to provide moisture and repair. The packaging is nice, simple and a good size. It is also quite easy to open and put my hand into when getting it out and onto my hair. The product itself has a nice texture, and isn't too thick or thin to apply to the hair. I have quite long hair so this tub wont last too long but is still a nice size. When I used this product I found it softened my hair and made it very manageable. It wasn't as knotty and much easier to brush. I love this product and will be using this often as it delivered great results.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gorgeous scent I quite liked the packaging and the size (390mls) is huge! Considering it's Garnier so it won't be expensive, I think you get great value for money. It's in a tub which can be messy in the shower but at the same time I like that you can get every last bit of product out. I really loved using this as a deep treatment. I would hop in the shower then shampoo my hair and put the mask in so it could work it's magic as I showered. The smell is so incredible! I really love it, it actually reminds me of a joico product I used to use years ago. Fragrance is a funny thing though, what smells amazing for me might be too much for someone else. My advice would be to smell it before you buy it if you're easily bothered by scents otherwise I think you're good! I was really happy to see that it doesn't contains silicones as my hair is quite fine and I don't like having them covered in a layer of silicone which does tend to weigh my hair down and make it greasy faster. If you have dry course hair I think you could use this all over. The way i found it to work the best is to focus it on mid lengths and ends. My scalp gets greasy pretty quickly so I didn't need any help there. Overall I will continue to use this product and have already recommended it to my family and friends. It left my hair nice and moisturised which is great as it's definitely getting colder and drier now.
