Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands feel clean [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I buy the Palmolive Antibacterial 2 hour defence liquid hand wash to use in our bathroom and in the kitchen. I like trying new hand washes especially ones with appealing fragrances. This scent is strong and slightly spicy, slightly woody musky, but I like the fact that this scent lingers on my hands after I use it. If I've been chopping onions or cleaning fish, I want this spicy intense scent on my hands rather than some offensive odour. It also lathers well and doesn't dry out my hands. I wash my hands several times during the day, so this hand wash works to clean and lightly fragrance my hands. I wish I had some scientific equipment to test out the 2 hours antibacterial defence, but regardless, this hand wash is a favourite in our home. I also keep this in the bathroom for daily use and it's perfect to do a good and thorough wash up after I've done some cleaning or gardening.

It doesn't have a pleasant smell but that's not what I use this soap for. I also use this soap to thoroughly clean my makeup brushes. It cleans so quickly and easily. Highly recommended for this use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My parents have this in the laundry room at their farm and we use this when we've been out doing farmwork, with the dogs, chickens etc. It works really well and the antibacterial properties in this works. It smells a bit clinical so isn't what you'd want to use maybe if you're on your way out or want to smell particularly nice. It's not a bad smell, but it's just a very practical smell. It's a yellow gel that is thickish and lathers quickly. It washes off well and leaves my hands on the dry side. I always use hand cream immediately after. If I don't I find that the skin around my cuticles tends to go a bit flakey. I would reccomend if you need an anti-bacterial hand wash versus a nicer smell wash.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Palmolive Antibacterial Liquid Hand Wash [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I quite like this liquid hand wash, it does what it is expected of it; cleanses the hands effectively, rids the hands of dirt, grease and grime and isn't too harsh. Protects the hands from germs for up to two hours which is a huge plus. It can be a little bit drying, especially if you wash your hands in warm water, but a bit of hand cream after washing easily fixes this issue. A little goes a long way, it foams up quite well to a soft foam. Rinses off easily. The handwash is transparent orange in colour, the scent is quite sweet from the orange. I don't mind it although it can smell a little bit 'medicinal'. I can understand why others may be put off by the scent, it can smell a little bit cloying. One bottle lasts for ages, it is excellent value for money. I think if you can get past the medicinal scent it is a good household hand wash, it does what is expected of it.

I would describe it as the soap you would use if you were in a public restroom or doctors office. It keeps your hands clean but I find that it does make my hands feel dry so I usually use a hand cream right after. I bought this several times but I have gone back to using other kinds of liquid soap. I am not a fan of the plain packaging and orange colour, it's not very pleasant.

It's gentle and only need a small amount for a good lather- rinses out easy with only a mild scent left. Brushes come out perfect! If my foundation brushes are stubborn I add a little olive oil, put it on a plate and swirl the brushes around, the mix helps soften all the product and rinses out beautifully. Would definitely recommend giving this a go.

My hands don't retain any orangey scent after washing. One squirt provides ample product to clean my hands thoroughly. The gigantic 1L bottles last for ages. Even by the end of the bottle, my hands never develop any dryness: however, I"m not prone to dry skin. REPURCHASE? Yes. This hand wash is cheap & it does the job. I still prefer Palmolive Macadamia Oil and Vanilla hand wash, but I rarely see it in the 1L bottle. Made in Thailand from imported & local components. INGREDIENTS: Water, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Lactic Acid, Sodium Chloride, Cocamide MEA, Fragrance, Sodium Salicylate, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Glycerin, Tetrasodium EDTA, Benzophenone-4, CI 16035.

I have the 2 hour defence handwash in my kitchen (orange scented) because I do a lot of dirty jobs there (think preparing meat, emptying the bin, cleaning the benches) so I wanted a good anti-bacterial handwash for this area. The handwash is an orange coloured gel that smells amazing. It really smells like a perfume I used to own by Anna Sui called Secret Wish. It's a lovely scent that's less juicy orange to me and more eau de cologne. I was worried that having an anti-bacterial effect that last two hours that this might be a bit hard on the skin. But it's actually really gentle and hasn't bothered my sensitive skin at all. All in all this is a really great handwash. I like it's light lather and the reassurance of its anti-bacterial protection.

I really like using this product. It comes in an easy to squeeze pump bottle. I use a small quantity of the product and it lathers well. It helps to get rid of the smell from my hands. It leaves my hands feeling some and smelling great. It does not leave my hand dry as some of the other hand washes do due to using them often.

When we travel, always keep a bottle of it handy in the vehicle. The smell is sort of sterile, reminds me of a hospital a bit.

Presented in a pump pack, the orange liquid has a fresh orange citrus scent. It lathers well and leaves my hands feeling clean and refreshed. Overall it’s not a bad product. However, it has stained the bathroom vanity quite badly. I do a lot of household cleaning for them and I can’t find anything to remove the stain, not even bleach. I would be unlikely to purchase this for use at my own home because of this.

The fragrance is strong and leaves my hands smelling after use. The soap lathers well, like a foam. I like the pump action, the bottle comes with a wide round pump action lid. I like the clear plastic bottle, so I can see when I need to buy more soap.

It gets the job done with minimal fuss. The only thing is that I hate the scent. It smells like men's cologne and I find it way too overpowering especially for a hand wash which is used multiple times a day. While I love how cheap this hand wash is, the smell puts me off. I'd much rather buy another Palmolive hand wash with a milder scent.
