Rated 4 out of 5 by from Soft shiny clean hair [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] On initial glance this shampoo caught my attention for the fact it has 0% parabans and colourants. this is such an important fact when picking my shampoos and too find a shampoo that is affordable and free of these chemicals initially wins me over. I love the tropical vibe the bottle gives off also. When opening the bottle the amazing scent that comes out leaves me excited to wash my hair and feel like I am in a tropical oasis. It is not overpowering but gives that holiday fresh scent that I love when washing my hair. When applying this shampoo the lather is nice and even and is easily rinsed out. I always do 2 shampoos and on the second it washed out just as easy leaving my hair feel squeaky clean and fresh. Once dried my hair was increasingly shiny. Considering I have bleach platinum hair I was amazed how soft and glistening my hair was. Typically I tend to buy salon quality shampoos to maintain my hair, however after 2 weeks of using this product I am converted to a more affordable and just as good quality as the expensive products I used to use.

It lathered up really well and easily. their coconut smell is on point (bring on summer!). But what surprised me most was that my hair felt well cleaned but not stripped of moisture like with others I’ve tried. My hair had that great clean feeling but didn’t feel like straw. It was in an easy to apply bottle which is always helpful. I would definitely recommend this shampoo for anyone seeking a natural based shampoo that works and doesn’t dry out hair. Obviously the summer smell is a great little bonus.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a mix of wavy and curly hair and while my roots can get quite oily, my tips tend to remain dry. This shampoo is stronger than my usual brand, and I found that using too much dried my hair out quickly. If you have dry or curly hair like mine I'd recommend using a smaller than usual amount of shampoo, and lots and lots of conditioner. Really, I feel like the conditioner is the real hero here. Both have a very nice scent that isn't quite coconutty -- it's more floral but that's just a nitpick. And as an added bonus, because the shampoo is so strong, it lasts for longer too. I've used this for a month and wash my hair every 2 or 3 days and I've barely made a dent in the bottle. Would buy again.

It's a large bottle and great value for money and left my hair feeling clean, silky and smooth. Comparing it to much more expensive salon shampoos, I found this stacked up although I would probably alternate it with more moisturising options longer term. Some of the ingredients in this shampoo can be a little drying. But overall it's a great option and certainly the best supermarket/pharmacy shampoo I have tried. Bonus - smells delicious!

It adds shine and volume as well as does clean the hair well. I recommend this if you have damaged hair or if you want your hair to feel smooth. It’s hydrating and smells nice too. It leaves your hair soft. The smell it’s very good and it lasts almost all day. It does not have any silicones or sulfates. Can’t beat herbal essences for good value decent shampoo and conditioner. Love the scent of this range. Leave my hair soft and clean without stripping hair colour.

It has that tropical coconutty scent that makes me feel like I am in a holiday in summer in a beautiful tropical destination. I also love that the scent lingers in my hair throughout the day. The scent is not overpowering at all. The shampoo works well on my long fine hair. Lathers well and rinses without leaving any residue. Left my hair clean and I did not need to double shampoo my hair. The texture is perfect not runny . It left my hair soft and shiny and love that it did not dry my hair out. It also did not cause frizz in my hair.

I used it paired with the coconut milk conditioner and continued to use it every 2-3 days for 3 weeks. The packaging is pretty, I like the design colours. the shampoo feels like it’s cleaning my hair well. My hair gets oily so I was pleased that it removed the oil well. It seems like a good quality product. It has a nice smell but isn’t too strong. When my hair dried it didn’t really have much scent to it and I usually like a stronger scent. When my hair dried it felt soft but not as soft as other products have made it. I’ve used products before when my hair dries I can just run my fingers through it and don’t even have to brush it but I found with this one I still needed to brush it. No big deal. It did make my hair sit well, not frizzy or fluffy. It has no parabens, colourants, mineral oils, BHA’s, DEA’s, coal tar hair dyes and other coal tar ingredients, paraffins and no added phthalates. It’s great that the shampoo is natural so if you have a sensitive scalp, react to certain things or just prefer a more natural product this would be good for you. I suffer with dandruff, it didn’t get rid of it but it didn’t get any worse while using it either. My hair did seem healthy after using it. The price of the product is reasonable I found it in woolworths for $8.40 for the 400ml bottle. Although this is a great product it is not right for me and I prefer to use other products so I would not purchase it again. I like my hair to feel super soft when it’s dried, and to smell nice after it’s dried. I would recommend them to family and friends that prefer natural products though.

It’s not an overpowering coconut scent but you can just tell it’s clean and paraben free. You only need a little to shampoo your hair. It’s got a silky texture to it and found it great for my dry damaged hair as it does it’s gentle cleaning. You’ll need a conditioner though to smooth out if you have hair like mine. I love that it doesn’t have the nasties to clean your locks. As my hair is damaged from bleached and colouring, I have been advised by a stylist to go for hydration shampoo to which this is perfectly suitable. This product also compliments other hair protein treatments I am using to keeping my hair smooth. Overall greatly recommend this product!

It comes in a beautifully designed bottle that looks very nice in my bathroom. It’s great value for money as it comes in a generous size bottle and works well to hydrate my hair. It lathers up really well in my long hair and smells absolutely divine. The coconut scent is so relaxing. I love it so much I wish the strong scent stayed in my hair when I washed it out but once rinsed the smell was light. Herbal essence does make a coconut oil hair blend that smells the same and goes on great when drying my hair to keep that beautiful coconut smell. The shampoo hydrates my hair without making it oily and leaves it soft with a nice healthy shine. My hair definitely looks and feels better when using this shampoo and conditioner combination.

I have sensitive scalp and dry fine hair and it worked well for me. It lathered up easily and washed out well. My hair felt nourished and my scalp wasn’t irritated. I also lent it to my teenage daughter who has hair that is a little bit oilier than mine. It worked well and she was happy with it - especially the fragrance. My only complaint is that the shampoo and conditioner look the same so hard to tell the difference without glasses in the shower!! Probably not a problem for my daughter but hard when you get to the stage of needing glasses to read the small print like me.

The bottle looks nice and the flip top is easy to open and dispense product from. The shampoo itself feels very creamy and smells great. I have fine hair so my scalp gets oily quickly while the length and ends are super dry and this shampoo cleaned the hair well. I do have to use the conditioner as, while the shampoo cleans well, without conditioner my hair felt dry so can’t skip conditioner. I enjoyed using this shampoo and will certainly buy again.

It smells fragrant during and after shower but would be nice if the fragrance lasts a little longer. It is nourishing, and softens and hydrates my hair. Suitable for daily use as well. It is also easy to lather and is gentle on my scalp and hair. It is rather good value for money, affordably priced, free of nasties such as parabens, animal cruelty free and vegan. The bottle is of a good size that is easy to carry and store, and the shampoo cap is easy to open and close.

I saw this Herbal Essences bio:renew Coconut Milk Shampoo and conditioner on sale, so I decided to use it. It smells Devine, the scent lingers hours after washing my hair. Smells fresh and coconuty. The bottle is gorgeous as always. It did hydrate my dry hair slightly, but nothing major. I buy these for the scent more than anything. Love love the scent of this Herbal Essences bio:renew Coconut Milk Shampoo, brings me back to my childhood every time. It does hydrate your hair without making your hair greasy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the smell Herbal essence is made with a blend of essential antioxidants as well as aloe and sea kelp. This products smells amazing even after 2 days. I love the coconut and vanilla scent. Within a few washes I started noticing a great difference in my hair. It left my hair feeling very soft and hydrated and not feeling greasy at all but nice and soft and clean. I took it with me to Bali on holidays and now when I use and notice the scent it always takes me back there. I would definitely recommend this product.

I washed twice for the best results and it left my hair sparking clean. It came in a really attractive bottle and the packaging label stands out above others. The product is a nice thick consistence so only a little is needed for each wash. I loved he light coconut smell that lasted in my hair. Used in conjunction with the conditioner this product works extremely well and left my hair hydrated, silky and extremely soft. After shampooing and conditioning my hair was extremely easy to style and did not look dried out. This product was gentle enough to use on the whole family and my husband loved it as well as the older kids. It is definable a product that I will continue to use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but nothing Outstanding I was very excited to trial the Herbal Essences biorenew coconut shampoo & conditioner as I was a long time user of Herbal essences as a teenager and was a big fan. I kind of went off them when they rebranded a lot of their products into the different formulas for different hair types as there wasn’t one that suited me and the things I liked about the brand (i.e. a focus on natural extracts) seemed to get lost. However with this range it seems to be a return to their roots!<br />I found it hard to review the shampoo of this range – because I liked it, but there was nothing outstanding or exceptional about it. It was just a good, standard shampoo. I guess that’s not a bad thing! IT isn’t as super cleansing as some shampoo’s I have used, but it still creates a nice lather, and it has a lovely subtle coconut smell. The bottle is quite large, so you get good value for money.<br />My favourite thing about this range is the natural extracts. It has no parabens and includes aloe and sea kelp.<br />I think moving forwards, I would try a different shampoo from the range, perhaps a volumising one, and stick to the coconut conditioner, as I think that would be a good combination for my hair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Silky and smooth hydrated hair The Herbal Essences bio:renew Coconut Water Shampoo is targeted towards hydrating hair and leaving it soft and silky. I have been using this shampoo together with the matching conditioner. The shampoo comes in a plastic container with brown packaging, and 400 ml of product. The shampoo has a flip top lid. Upon opening the shampoo, you can smell the lovely scent, which is a mix of coconut, vanilla and a soft floral. It is a really nice scent and you smell this softly in your hair throughout the day. The shampoo lathers up well, and was easy to apply and wash out in the shower. After rinsing out this shampoo, my hair felt silky soft and smooth. Overall, I noticed that after using this shampoo my hair was more hydrated and smoother throughout the week. I have less frizxy flyaways too. Another plus is that the packaging says the shampoo has no parabens or colourants. I have found the shampoo great for my hair, and my hair is colour treated. I did experience a bit of build up after using this shampoo for a while. So I recommend using with a cleansing shampoo once a fortnight or so. Overall, I think this is a great everyday affordable shampoo.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice product, cleanses without damaging I was lucky enough to trial this new shampoo from herbal essences bio renew with coconut milk. Firstly the packing is quite nice, very different as it comes in a dark brown almost black bottle. This looks nice tho, quite sophisticated and almost felt like a bit of a luxury product.<br />The colouring on the label goes well too, some sort of bluey tones with feathered pictures. I admit it did take me two applications to realise that the lid actually pops open. I had been untwisting the whole top and wondered why it was pouring out so fast! So note to self, lift pop up lid. But maybe it wasn't clear enough to see this option I'm not sure.<br />The product itself is nice, general consistency and clear colour.<br />I did not really find much of a scent, only really light and didn't really smell like coconut, although maybe coconut milk smells different from normal coconut I don't really know.<br />I did find it lathers well and is easy to rinse.<br />My hair felt quite clean but not stripped or damaged in any way, and I do shampoo too often, almost every second day so not too drying is important for me.<br />I didn't notice any negative effects from this shampoo but also not really any super amazing or long lasting benefits either.<br />It seems to be quite a nice shampoo for general use and effective and gentle especially for price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The future of hair care! I was lucky enough to be selected as a participant to trial the exclusive bio:renew Herbal Essences.<br />It is so exciting!! The bio:renew shampoo and conditioner set are paraben free, gluten free (which I assume means it's safe for those suffering from coeliacs disease). They are also ph balanced, safe for coloured hair and have antioxidants to purify and protect your hair.<br />The best thing about it is that the plant that manufactures these products matches the amount of electricity used with renewable wind power credits. I am seriously impressed!! Now. My first thought when I saw the bottles was 'oooh coconut!'.<br />I have mixed feelings about coconut in fragrance or beauty products. Sometimes I love it some times I don't. I think it's an easy scent to get tired of. The bio:renew products actually have coconut water so it's very light.<br /> The shampoo does have a slightly 'coconutty' scent but is not overpowering at all. You still get that gorgeous yummy smell that herbal essences fragrance is famous for.<br />In my experience, the coconut smell hasn't lingered which means it doesn't interfere with any perfumes.<br />I have super long hair that is always a drama to wash. I don't wash it every day so when I do shampoo I double cleanse. This shampoo allowed me to do this, working up a nice creamy lather that left my hair nice and clean without being 'squeaky' which is a sign that is isn't stripping the oils.<br />There was no issue with my scalp feeling dry or anything. I think this would be suitable for those with sensitive scalps.<br />It was lovely and gentle while still being effective.<br />The bottle is quite big (400mls) which is a bargain. It also has a flip top making it easy to control how much you squeeze out.<br />I'm really impressed with this innovate idea!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gentle Cleanser This shampoo is gentle on the hair and doesn't strip it from it's natural oils! It smells delicious first of all, like a coconut smoothie. It luckily doesn't have that strong artificial coconut scent, which I really dislike. It foams up nicely (this would be the SLS) and cleansers hair clean, including oily roots, with just one wash. It doesn't give me particularly voluminous hair, but it also doesn't leave my hair over weighted and flat, which I appreciate. I would have liked to see some more botanical extracts and perhaps coconut oil in the formula (it only contains coconut extract) to make the ingredient list really stand out. I like that the shampoo is made in a sustainably way (the power used to make the shampoo is 'given back' in renewable' wind credits') but Im also confused about this. Is the brand as a whole moving towards renewable energy or is it just this line of products? Why aren't they made using renewable energy to begin with? What about the ingredients, are they sustainably sources? I'm confused by this 'selling point' and don't think the brand has thought through all the answers, but wants to label their product as being 'bio friendly'.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful shampoo that leaves your hair clean and smelling divine The Herbal Essences Bio:Renew Coconut Water Shampoo is a luxurious shampoo that left my hair smelling like a trip to a tropical island. Beautiful coconut teases the senses while you work the product into a rich lather to clean and hydrate your damaged locks. (Can you tell I'm in marketing?!) But seriously, I loved using this shampoo! It definitely left my hair softer, silkier and more hydrated and it even felt like it stayed cleaner for longer which hardly ever happens when I go to the gym 3 times per week! The only thing I wasn't really a fan of is the bottle graphics. The bottle itself is nice and pretty good quality for a supermarket-style product. However, the actual graphics and label design wasn't very interesting or enticing. This is a shame as I really think that this product deserves a beautiful and eye-catching bottle design - maybe a bright yellow or orange or a tropical flower and a coconut on the side. This aside I will definitely pick up this product again in future and highly recommend for dry/damaged hair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smells great and very nourishing I really enjoyed this shampoo. It smelled fantastic - a nice, gentle, coconut scent that made me feel like I was laying on a tropical island. It did not dry out my hair at all and left it feeling fantastic I have thick wavy hair and a dry and sensitive scalp - this did not irritate me at all and kept my waves in check. I usually have to use a dry scalp shampoo once a fortnight to stop myself scratching my scalp like crazy, but I did not have to do that whilst I was using this shampoo. Just great, all round My only dislike is that it contains SLS which can be quite irritating and has the potential to dry out hair, so I generally prefer to use products without it This is a great value for money shampoo. It lathers well, has a nice creamy texture and was a pleasure to use.

The shampoo comes in a generous size bottle, the appearance of the bottle throws off island holiday and relaxation vibe. Upon inspection the shampoo texture is very medium not thick and the scent is more like sweet lollies and coconut. The product is white meaning I can be assured that the product will not affect the tone of my blonde hair. The product scent is beautiful and this had me sold! The product foams well and one use was surprisingly enough, I usually require at least 2 washes. My hair was left smelling really gorgeous fresh and sweet like coconut and lollies. Hair felt smooth, controlled and nourished. Frizz is controlled and nice amount of shine not to mention SO SOFT... Defiantly feels like a higher end shampoo product and I would defiantly recommend / buy again as the results really did deliver. Thank you BH xx

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not a big fan of the smell I was very excited to receive this product. But to be honest I was a bit disappointed with the smell. Maybe it's just me but I did not quite enjoyed the smell. Anyways I gave it a go and started using this on my hair every second day. I was very surprised. It is very god. It made my hair very soft and silky. I could not stop touching my hair after starting to use this shampoo. My hair feels very healthy and nourished. It feels hydrated. I am not scared to wash my hair every second day now. Before I was a bit hesitant but the fact that this shampoo is very hydrating I can get away with washing my hair even daily. My hair has always been very dry, dull and damaged and I have tried quite a few things for that issue. Some of the things have worked and some have not. This is one of the products that's worked so I am very happy to use it further.

I was thrilled to be chosen to be part of the trial team for Herbal Essences new product, a coconut milk hydrating shampoo and conditioner before its release. The packaging for this product is very different to other shampoos in the Herbal Essences range, The black colour of the bottle with a smaller cap on top lends the product a slightly more exotic feel The shampoo has a nice subtle scent which sells faintly of coconut; it is not at all overpowering or artificial smelling. The shampoo lathers nicely and cleans hair well, but a second application of the shampoo may be required if you have been using lots of hair product recently. Using this shampoo in combination with the corresponding coconut milk conditioner left my hair soft, fluffy and more manageable. This was a lovely shampoo overall, however it was not overly better than other shampoos I have tried in the Herbal Essences range. I love Herbal Essences shampoos and conditioners, but I am undecided on whether I would purchase this product again or another shampoo from within the Herbal Essences range.

I have been using the Herbal Essences Bio:renew Hydrate Coconut Milk Shampoo every day for about 3 weeks now and I must say that I have been loving it. I usually avoid anything with the word "coconut" in it, because I usually associate it with that sickly sweet smell of summer flavoured products, however, I was pleasantly surprised that this Coconut Milk shampoo had only the slightest coconut scent and I that I found it completely tolerable. Now, on to the product... the shampoo lathers up more than my usual shampoo, but it doesn't have that overly soapy feel that some of the other supermarket brands can have. It rinsed out well, and made my hair feel squeaky clean! I like the fact that Herbal Essences seem to be moving towards a more natural formula for their products. So, I was super glad to see that they had no parabens. Let's hope that in the future they can aim to eliminate SLS and alcohols.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Natural curls This shampoo surprised me - in a good way. Usually supermarket brand hair products aren't the greatest for my hair which is pretty dense, coarse wavy/curly hair. I'm either left a bit oily or totally dried out and a bit uncomfortable. And I'm not totally familiar with Herbel Essences shampoos as I generally only get the pink bottle green pump conditioner (which is awesome btw). This shampoo works great for thick hair. I usually try to go a week between washes, and I understand that's probably excessive for most people but I've found that it really reduces oil production over time and gives me much longer life out of my hair, particularly for times I straighten it (which is an event in itself). It's typically thick, lathers up really well and leaves my hair feeling nice and clean - not quite squeaky but that's a good thing. I don't get any drying or discomfort afterwards which can occur for me particularly in winter and with a more extreme/drying shampoo. Plus I do shampoo twice! Also the scent is nice, not grossly overwhelming but it doesn't seem to stick around long after washing Sometimes shampoos leave my hair looking pretty bleh after it dries. I like to air dry my hair because as anyone with curly/wavy thick hair will know, the less you brush it the better it looks. So sometimes it ends up looking pretty bad and other times it seems the curls form better and look more intentional and bouncy. This shampoo actually does that (in conjunction with the conditioner) so for a supermarket type product, I'm pretty happy and would recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from airs as smooth as milk! was so happy to be apart of another amazing product trail from beauty heaven i haven't used herbal essence for about twelve mouths or more but one thing that i always loved about herbal essence is there scents an smells in there ranges an loved this shampoo not just cause it 0% parabene free an also gluten free not sure if i ve never seen that on shampoo before who knew? most of all it lives up to whats it's saying it's going do it's hydrated my hair it's got more life to my hair it's so smooth an smells so good can't smell the sea kelp or aloe the coconut was the overpowering scent but like it an liked how it don't make my hair oily stopped it getting to oily just wish it was tear free an we wouldn't have one dislike about this amazing new herbal essence product i loved how new N different the package is also i would recommend this my hair is loving it an my dryness is near gone :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Herbal Essences bio:renew Coconut Water Shampoo & Conditioner | Great scent and fantastic lather Thank you BH and Herbal Essences for the opportunity to trial and review the Herbal Essences bio:renew Coconut Water Shampoo & Conditioner I have dry, colored and damaged hair type and I wash my hair daily. I enjoyed using both products especially the shampoo. I have been using a 10c piece each morning for 2 weeks, except on one occasion I have decided to skip washing my hair just to test out these products. I have always paired the Shampoo up with the Conditioner Pros:<br /> - comes in a big 400mL bottle: value for money! - lathers up nicely - cleanses thoroughly without having to do a second cleanse - smells delicious (even though I'm not a fan of coconut in general) - Hair feels really soft, does not leave hair feeling stringy Cons: - the shampoo and conditioner bottles are way too similar! I have to pick them up each time to read the writing on the bottle before knowing which one to use - the bottle is too big and I can't fit it into my shower caddy - the product is not silicone-free - I think that the product might have stripped some of my hair colour but I am not entirely sure - as it was a new hair dye that I have used Prior to trialing this product I was using a plant-based low-foaming silicone-free shampoo. I like the feeling of using the Herbal Essences shampoo during the shower a lot more, as I like to feel that the shampoo lathers up and I know that my hair would be properly cleansed. However, I found that some silicone-containing shampoo and conditioner can weigh my hair down over time (although not all silicone-containing shampoos and conditioners do that) I found that after 2 weeks of using this shampoo I need a proper cleanse using a detox shampoo (just once) to lift my hair up again. However, before the 2-week mark hits, it has been great I have also tried to leave my hair unwashed for one day and my hair was quite flat. Therefore these products, at least for my hair type, are best used daily Overall I am happy with the products, especially the refreshing and invigorating scent which wakes me every morning. I also found that my hair is very soft at the end of the trial.
