Directions

1. Wash: apply daily to a wet face. Rinse thoroughly with water.
2. Scrub: apply daily, massaging product in circular motions, concentrating
on the T-Zone (forehead, nose & chin). Rinse off with water.
3. Mask: apply to face 2-3 times per week. Allow to dry for 5 minutes.
Rinse off with water.
Avoid eye and lip area. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from I like this product, I've been using it three or so times a week as a cleanser/scrub. It cleans my skin but doesn't make it feel too clean, the exfoliating beads leave my skin feeling nice and smooth. Didn't notice a significant difference in the appearance of my pores and blackheads, I'm also not a fan of the scent, I don't like heavily scented products. I didn't really like it as a mask, I felt that it didn't make much of a difference to my skin. Overall, it's an okay product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I've been using this for the past 2 weeks as a scrub in the mornings. I have oily skin. This makes my skin feel very clean, but it dries it out so you have to use a moisturizer right after. I didnt see any reduction in blackheads nor any difference on my skin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This is one of those products that I like but it doesn't scream YES to me. I have oily/combo skin and I felt it did a good job at minimising my oiliness after use, that's the only big thing screaming at me that I truly like. Now, I'm not saying this product didn't remove dirt, leftover makeup or other nasties from my skin but I feel it could have been more effective. As a charcoal and anti-blackhead wash I thought it'd do a better job at keeping my impurities at bay, however, I saw my skin at its worst while using this product. My hormones were all over the place and they really affected my skin and breakouts but there are plenty of other products I've previously used that have been able to combat this. Another con is the application being quite messy and I mean I get it everywhere and after using my fingers to apply to my face I'm left with charcoal marks covering my hands instead of a slight residue. It's not a big issue as I use it while I shower but it is something to mention. I'm not saying throw out this product never use it (cause I know I still am using it) but there are other drugstore and even other Garnier washes that may be more effective for you instead of this. If this isn't for you, you might be better off trying the sensitive anti-blemish garnier wash which was a much better product for me personally.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Product left face feeling smooth and refreshed, packaging was appealing to the eye and did remove so blackheads but the small micro beads ended up scratching one of my eyes and has been red for the last week, so just be careful when rinsing off product make sure all beads are off before opening eyes

The fragrance was intense, a whole lot more than usual. i like the concept and as a face wash was ok but as a quick mask I found it had stripped all oil from my skin. My face was irritated for a couple of days afterwards. I have normal skin thats a little sensitive sometimes depending on the product.

Although skin did feel very smooth after each use, it felt like it had been stripped of its natural oils. As for its effectiveness on pimples and blackheads, didn't see much notable difference over use. I've used over 10 different clay masks and found that when I wash them off, they would tend to have a brown tinge to indicate real clay ingredients, but this did not do that. The smell was probably the biggest con for me. Personally, wouldn't recommend this to a friend.

I usually like to use some form of exfoliation on my skin to give my skin a good clean and to remove dirt and oils. This mask did just that. It can be used as a daily wash or a scrub. It helped to unclog my pores. I prefer to use it in the shower and lather a thick layer onto my skin and lightly massage it in after 2 minutes. My skin is left soft and clear, and without being dried out or irritated. It is also budget friendly as a drug store skin care product and the use of charcoal adds benefits to the skin as well as salicylic acid. Since it can be used to deeply clean the skin, it helps reduce acne and any textures to the skin. I use the scrub every day, mainly at night in the shower.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Garnier Pure Active Intensive Charcoal 3-in-1 trial team While I have been using the Garnier Pure Active Intensive Charcoal 3-in-1 I have not noticed any difference in my blackheads and I have continued to get pimples. Though it has been hot where I live and I have an active job where I am constantly running around, so I am not surprised I have continued to get pimples. But I was hoping I would see an improvement with my blackheads When I used the product as a wash/scrub it made my face sting a little bit. When I used it as a mask it made my face sting a lot, but not horribly since I was able to leave it on for the full five minutes When I used the product as a wash/scrub I only used it in the shower because it makes a mess. It leaves water drops with charcoal in them on the shower walls. When I used it as a mask I rinsed it off in the shower because I was worried it would make an even bigger mess. Also, traces of the charcoal would get stuck underneath my nails, cuticles and the corners of my eyes even though I always rinsed the product off thoroughly. That has never happened to me with a wash/scrub/mask before The cap on the bottle does not completely seal. Water gets inside the cap and traces of the product leak out Overall the Garnier Pure Active Intensive Charcoal 3-in-1 is an okay wash/scrub/mask. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Trial Team Review I enjoyed using this product as it left my skin feeling clean and fresh after every use. I found that the small microbeads helped exfoliate the skin but was definitely not too harsh or abrasive. It also has a clean, almost masculine scent, which does not bother me at all. However, those who are sensitive to smells may find it to be quite strong. I enjoy the simple packaging, it is very easy to use and there is a lot of product. The only downside to the product, but kind of a major one, is that I find it to be quite messy to use. I have not been able to use the product and not have grey water residue left around the sink! If this does not bother you then I would say give the product a try. On the other hand, there are plenty of other cleansers out there that can give the same effect for the skin but are less messy. The product is multifunctional, which makes it very unique and I enjoyed using the product as a mask as well to take out any impurities in the skin. It definitely saves on some money as it isn't necessary to purchase a separate face mask to use.

I am not gonna lie though, when I first started using this product it was amazing my face cleared up but after the first week, my results with this product started to decline. I thought that I might have done it wrong, thinking that I might have left it on too long or something like that, but I was wrong because you were able to wear it as a mask. But on a positive note, I figured that this product worked best when you scrubbed. But my blackheads didn't disappear. Which was a shame.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I hate it I bought this product with such high hopes but was disappointed, it irtitates my skin and I feel a burning sensation a few seconds after aplying, it is hard to remove and smells terrible, kind of reminds me of men's deodorant. The exfoliating beads are way too big and harsh, I use it as a body exfoliator instead.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The product was dark grey coloured due to the charcoal, this unfortunately does stain white towels if you do not wash every single bit of product off. The product was also very fragrant, I am not actually a big fan of the smell, it was very off putting. Initially I was worried that the strong perfume would make my sensitive skin react. After a patch test it seemed fine but after a couple weeks of use I did find it stung any dry skin around my nose. Looking at the ingredients I was hopeful that it would help my acne because it contains salicylic acid and also contains charcoal which are proven to benefit the skin. My first use of the product was hopeful I noticed that it did help to reduce some of the many blackheads on my face and in turn make my pores look less visible. The smell of the product almost made me gag. After repetitive use for a couple weeks I didn’t notice any changes to my skin, the product did not help with acne and I believe that it was too harsh to be used as a daily cleanser. The grainy texture of the product means it is a good exfoliant but seemed to be somewhat drying on my skin after everyday use. \n\nAlthough the product is 3-in-1 I did not use it as a mask. The fragrance was too unbearable to be left on my face for 5 minutes whilst waiting for the mask to work its magic. The 3-in-1 is also a bit of a stretch, when using the product the ‘wash’ and ‘scrub’ use were exactly the same. \n\nI would not recommend this product to those with sensitive skin or dry/cracked skin as the strong perfumes will most likely irritate your skin. The product would be suited for those looking to reduce the appearance of blackheads. \n

I didn't notice any irritation caused by the fragrance, but I just did not find it an enjoyable smell.\nSecondly, if you have sensitive skin you will not be able to use this as an every day scrub/cleanser. I don't have overly sensitive skin but the exfoliants are way too harsh and irritating. \nAs I couldn't use it as an every day thing, I have instead been using the product as a weekly mask/scrub. I find this does not irritate my skin and does leave my skin looking and feeling fresh. However I have not noticed any long-lasting results. \nI would only recommend this for people with very oily and blackhead prone skin. Personally I would not repurchase as I find other products provide better value for money results for my skin.\n

Rated 2 out of 5 by from it didn’t do anything for my skin. Best used as a scrub 2-3 times a week not a daily face wash. If used daily it would irritate the skin too much. Even as a scrub though it was kinda basic. No lasting results with this one. A good mad and scrub would make suck an effect on your skin which you would only need to do 2 times a week, an all in 3 is not going to be as effective and no way should you be scrubbing your face daily, you are not giving your skin enough time to regenerate all the dead skin you scrubbed off the day before or in the morning.

It has an intense chemical smell which I'm not used to with skin care, and it was very off putting. I used the product as a scrub but I didn't find it left my skin feeling too clean post use. Sadly I wouldn't recommend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I wasn't a  fan of this product. The gently exfoliation was the prefect roughness but that was all it had going for it. I would not recommend using the scrub as a daily scrub though as I feel it is too course for daily use. The smell was strong and over powering and the stuff was a nightmare to wash off. As a mask it didn't dry hard enough for my liking. When used as a wash I didn't get that clean feeling after that I get from other cleansers. It definitely did not close or minimise any of my pores. I would not recommend this to a friend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This product is a wash, scrub and mask. I used it as a wash and scrub as a part of my night time routine for three nights. I have oily/combination and sensitive skin. This product is not bad however I feel that the cons overweigh the pros. Pros: works well as basic wash. Cons: smell is very chemically (I usually use organic or natural skincare so the smell was too strong for me), not enough beads to be a scrub but I feel as though as a wash it didn't really remove the dirt and left over make up I had on my face (which my usual wash is able to remove). It did not cause any reaction on my face which is good, but it is not a product I would look forward to in my skincare. The smell is too much for me to try it as a mask. Not bad product, but overall, wouldn't recommend to a friend.

Visually the packaging was nice I used the product daily as a wash and scrub and 1 a week as a mask. I found the product to be a nice consistency as a face wash and was easy to apply and rinsed off easily in the shower with warm water. However as a scrub I didn't find the product to be very effective. I found the granules were to small to provide any real 'scrub' type benefits on my face and still has flakey bits of skin after use. I would expect a scrub to remove flakey bits of skin and provide some refinement of the skin As a mask I liked the product and my skin did feel softer after use. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Did not live up to its 'intensive' name I was very excited to be invited to partake in the trial of Garnier Pure Active Intensive Charcoal 3-in-1 wash, scrub and mask. I have been hearing a lot of buzz about skincare products based on or containing charcoal and have already tried a charcoal mask from a different brand previously , which I really liked, so I was super keen to try another charcoal product This 3-in-1 product comes in a squeezable tube with a pop lid, which makes for easy dispensing. I found it very handy and easy to control how much product I get out each time, which is great. The tube itself is not very visually appealing (and us women do so like to have our beauty product be wrapped up in a pretty package), but given the price for the 150ml sized product, I can certainly live with that. The product itself is dark grey in colour as would be expected of a charcoal product and fairly thick in consistency. It contains micro beads that are meant to help with the exfoliating process. It has an artificial and sweet smell, which I believe is meant to represent the charcoal and blueberry extract combination that it includes, however I found it to be too sweet and did not enjoy it at all As with any product that boasts to do more than one thing, I generally feel a little apprehensive - I mean it's hard enough to find a product that will do one thing well, but three? That takes a true hero product indeed. And this 3-in-1 product? Is sadly not that for me. Out of the three things that it claims to do, for me it worked best as a simple daily wash. I would simply apply it to wet skin, gently massage and rinse off. As a wash it did leave my skin feeling fresh and clean, but the results were not very long lasting. As a scrub I found that it did not do a particularly thorough job and I have certainly used much better scrubs in the past. Finally as a mask I think it was the most disappointing of the lot - a charcoal mask is meant to really purify and tighten the skin, but this did neither of those things What I found most frustrating was that it boasts being 'anti-blackheads' on the front of the package and blackheads are one of my major skin issues. This did nothing to cleanse and reduce the appearance of the blackheads around my nose. Just for contrast I also used my usual scrub/mask combo and the results were instantaneous - blackheads were nearly invisible So overall this was, unfortunately, a pretty disappointing trial for me. Rated 1 out of 5 by from I have used this product for a month - as a cleanser, scrub and mask - and it has basically done nothing for my skin. I have noticed no difference in the amount of blackheads that I have. Using a pore strip is much, much more effective. Also, marketing it as both a cleanser and scrub is incredibly misleading because it is basically a cleanser with some exfoliating beads in it. The dark colour of it also makes it incredibly messy. It also has an odd smell, which is annoying as you are meant to use it around your nose.\n

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I used this Charcoal 3-in-1 face wash for about a month. \nAs a daily wash : a bit too harsh, so wouldn't recommend daily as the texture is gritty, so it would be a physical exfoliator. \nAs a scrub: awesome. Does the job and gives the skin a clean, refreshed feel.\nAs a mask: the texture is a little to thin for my liking as a mask, however it can be used as one too. Same outcome as the scrub. \nMy skin was mattified after use, but it was the same combination to oily self again the next day. (But this is the same outcome for nearly all products I've tried.)\n\nThe main reason for the single star - the smell. Initially it was tolerable, but as I continued to use it, it reminded me more and more of dish washing liquid.\n\nAlternatively, I would recommend the Garnier Pure Active 3-in-1, a 'white' version for the charcoal (in my humble opinion). Same idea, but more preferably - again in my opinion. \n

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not like this. I'm not a fan of these '3 in 1' products. This was quite strong in fragrance, and I felt it was too harsh for daily wash. As it functions as a wash, scrub and mask, you're pretty much using it as a scrub everyday, if you are using it as a wash. Did not like it as a mask either. If you were to purchase this, using it as a scrub would be best, and at most 3 times a week.
