Makeup remover & facial cleanser for dry, intolerant, sensitive skin.

Designed to be used as both a facial cleanser and make-up remover, Toleriane Dermo Cleanser 200mL can be rinsed off or removed with cotton or tissue. Gently cleanses the face and effectively removes makeup. Toleriane Dermo Cleanser has a soft, fluid milky and nourishing texture. With La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water. Best used in a daily skincare routine suitable for sensitive skin types, including a sensitive day and night moisturiser and a soothing facial serum. Directions

Pat on, massaging in a circular motion, with fingertips, then carefully wipe off using a cotton ball/pad, taking care not to rub. Rinsing with water is optional.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from The good thing about this is that it was gentle on my skin. I did get some in my eyes but it didn't irritate them. As I wear heavy make up I found it did not take it off. I used with cotton bud and even with water but i still found it would not take it off. I had to wipe with a wipe to take off the excess. But I found it took off the foundation when I only applied a very thin layer. Eye make up was hard to get rid of all at once.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I received this product to review as a member of Review Crew. It claims to be a cleansing and makeup removal fluid for all types of intolerant skin. The product is quite runny and milky and has no noticeable scent. I tried this as both a cleanser (massaging it into the skin before rinsing off) and as a makeup remover (both by massaging into the skin and by applying with a cotton pad). I found the product good as a cleanser, provided I had removed my makeup with another remover first. It left my skin feeling clean and soft with no tightness or itchiness. However, I found it to be absolutely useless at removing makeup. It could remove blush and powder, but left foundation, concealer, mascara and eyeshadow basically untouched, it just kind of moved them around a bit but didn't seem to actually aid in removal at all. I have taken off 2 stars for this as the product only does half of what it claims to do. If you want a nice, basic cleanser suitable for sensitive skin, this is your product, but if you want a makeup remover, look elsewhere.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I enjoyed using the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser. I found it was great for cleansing my face when I had no makeup on and left my skin feeling hydrated. What I did find was that it took multiple washes and a lot of product to thoroughly remove my makeup. I usually use a cream based cleanser to remove my makeup then follow up with a gentle foaming cleanser as the second cleanse to effectively remove my makeup and impurities from the day. \nI would have preferred a more foaming formula which was still gentle so that all traces of makeup could be removed - which is why I gave it 3 stars. \nI didn't get any stinging or irritation which was great. I used this cleanser in the shower on damp skin and double cleansed. \nI'm not sure I will buy this when it runs out, but if there is another formula developed which focuses on makeup removal, I will be keen to give it a try.\n

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I was not the greatest fan of this product. I feel it may be not as strong to the Clinque cleansing balm because I felt I really had to scrub at my face to get my makeup off. The product is defiantly hydrating and I can see it suiting someone who only wears light makeup such as a BB Cream. It did take some makeup off, but eye makeup was almost impossible. \n\nI did try just cleansing my face, but also found a film stuck around after I had wiped or rinsed it off. \n\nThe packaging I found to be rather annoying, the bottle I got was very hard to squeeze product out and when you did it came spurting out. \n\nAs a passionate double cleanser, I just felt this product did not live up to it's claims. \n

You use very little of the product, and it’s a good sized bottle, so it would last a long time being value for money that way. If you have sensitive skin I’d say this would be very good. Fragrance free.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I suspect this cleanser will be really handy for those who suffer from really sensitive skin that can be prone to dryness and irritation. It can be quite hard to find skincare that has the perfect balance of restoring skin's optimal moisture and well as maintaining the integrity of skin barrier function. My skin gets really quite dehydrated and flaky during the very dry Summer heat in Adelaide, and I'm very breakout prone so I look for something that is going to help will adding moisture back into my skin without making my acne worse. I've always been a big fan of the gentle cleanse rather than stripping the skin to remove the daily dirt and impurities, so this cleanser is more suited to my liking. However, I don't always like creamy type cleansers. I found that this was really quite gentle, but in doing so it wasn't as effective as cleansing makeup as I would have liked. I found I did have to use this a few times to remove my makeup to my liking. I use it by applying a little on a cotton pad and sweeping over the face and eyes. No irritation which was fantastic, but I did have to repeat the process a few times. Perhaps using micellar water gently over the eyes will help before use. Other than that - it worked nicely. \n

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed with cleansers + sizes of containers Neither cleansers remove make-up so I have reverted back to my previous cleanser. The sunscreen is much runnier than the sample product I trialled. Did I order the wrong one ? The moisturiser although good - is not value for money considering just how small the container it is in. A bit disappointing overall with my purchases.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good for morning but not for night I have been happily using Clinique for years but decided to try La Roche-Posay after a recent perioral dermatitis (rosacea) break out. I am also using several prescription skin treatments including Retrieve, Epiduo and Rozac so my skin is quite fragile and sensitive. I chose this particular cleanser because the packaging said it was suitable for face AND eyes whereas others said they were not suitable for eyes. This is a nice morning cleanser as it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth however, I am disappointed with it as a night cleanser. Even after a double cleanse, rinsing with water and a face washer there is still makeup residue on the toner cotton pad. Perhaps this is more suitable for people who don’t wear make up.

It was no good on my face in the morning, leaving a residue, and requiring copious amounts of water and wiping to make me feel 'clean'. However, this product does a great job at removing makeup at the end of the day (or evening). The issue: I found I needed to use quite a bit! That said, it's great with sensitive skin, and great with contact lens wearers (of which I am). It seems wasteful to use so much product, and expensive to boot.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from My skin tends to be combination, but at the same time sensitive in areas. The cleanser worked well for both these issues. I didn’t feel it made my skin any shinier and didn’t aggravate it in any way so long as I rinsed it off rather than going for the optional rinsing as indicated on the bottle. I did find though that it was not ideal in terms of removing makeup. I prefer a foaming wash or a micellar product and found that using the cleanser meant I still had to use make-up removal pads. On the plus side, I found that I didn’t need to use too much of the product so it would last quite long.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I really wanted to like the La Roche Posay Toleraine Dermo Cleanser but unfortunately it was not for me. The container is very thick and comes in a flip top lid which made it somewhat difficult to get the product out. After several cleanses it did not effectively ‘clean my dermis’ as the title of the product states. In fact, I found that I was having to use a different cleaner on top to remove the slick film it left behind. This product may be perfect for light eye makeup removal only. I found that it did not suit my skin or my lifestyle (in regards to how much make up I wear). So unfortunately I’ll have to give this one a miss.

It has a nice consistency and is definitely gentle and didn’t cause any irritation but I found it wasn’t very effective as a cleanser or a make up remover and I needed to use a lot of the product to remove mascara or foundation.

I loved the moisturisers however the cleanser I felt wasn't nearly as successful. The consistency was a little runny for a cream cleanser and it really did not remove all of my makeup as it claimed it would. I applied with a cotton pad and it felt nice and soothing when using, however I felt there was residue on my face after this cleaner and needed to use my normal gel cleanser afterwards to help my skin feel thoroughly clean and refreshed.\n

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser was quite different from other cleansers I would normally use.  I'm used to cleansers that foam up a lot more so at first it didn't feel as though it was working.  I found that I have to take my make up off with another cleanser first as this product seemed to smudge the make up around my face.  I'm also not a massive fan of the packaging. It was a difficult to open and a lot of product seemed to be wasted when opened.  The cleanser did leave my skin feeling soft after however I still probably wouldn't repurchase.

Thankfully I was lucky enough to get a bottle to sample.\nI just felt it didn’t remove anything, I always went over with micellar water otherwise my skin didn’t feel clean enough.  I agree with others that it was difficult to get the product out in the first place \n

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This cleanser is good for removing eye makeup except it can't remove black liner or liquid liner completely; it leaves behind remnants of colour and if i apply more of the cleanser it still does not remove it.  I have to use another product to remove it completely.  I did not like the packaging as it is awkward to get product out despite having a lot of it still in the container.  It was excellent in the fact that it did not sting my eyes.  I did not like the texture of the cleanser on the rest of my face.  I recommend it for eye makeup removal but not for heavy eye makeup.  You do get a lot of this product though which is good. For an overall cleanser I did not enjoy it.\n

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The cleanser is a runny-milky consistency, with a light chemical scent, which can be applied to the face and left on, or washed off.  I found when I used the cleanser with water it felt like the cleanser was never fully removed from my skin, and it almost left a film of product over my face.  I prefer cleansers with some kind of gentle acid and a foam consistency so that my skin feels properly cleansed and all traces of makeup have been removed.\nI attempted to use the Dermo Cleanser with my Clairosonic brush but as the cleanser doesn’t ‘bubble’ it  just moved the foundation around my face, staining my brush head in the process and leaving my face covered in a slimey wet foundation.\n The bottle unlike the La Roche-Posay moisturisers which have pump lids is a pop off cap which needs a few upside down shakes to get the product out of the bottle, I found doing this that I would have no product in my hand to a palmful of cleanser within one shake.\n While my skin did not react from this product it also didn’t feel properly cleansed, I would assume because the ingredients in products that make them ‘bubble’ can be harsh and strip the skin and this cleanser does not contain any parabens, fragrance, alcohol or colourants.\n

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I can’t really say I was a fan of the La Roche Posay cleanser. I have sensitive combination skin so I was really excited to try it. I generally cleanse in the shower so this is where I trialled. \nI apply to slightly damp skin with my fingers, massage in then use a Foreo device for a deep clean. The cleanser doesn’t lather or foam which is fine for me.\nI personally feel like I need to rinse about 3 or 4 times before all the residue is gone. It leaves a film on my skin which I’m not a fan of, I feel like I need to use a different cleanser to remove my cleanser. \nThe positives are it didn’t irritate my skin and did leave it feeling soft. \n\n

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I had the chance to trial this cleanser as part of the beauty review team. I hate to say that unlike the moisturizer that came with this duo I really hated the cleanser. It felt very heavy on the skin and left behind a layer of film even after you thoroughly washed it. I do not see my self ever using this as a cleanser alone, especially for my combination oily skin type. However, it does work quite nicely as a makeup remover! I do not see myself ever purchasing this again but will continue to use the remainder of it as a makeup remover prior using a normal cleanser on days where I would wear a full face of makeup.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I did not like this at all! The thought of patting a cream on my face to clean it (and leave it on the skin) did not appeal to me. I tried this as per the instructions and it did a terrible job of removing my makeup...in fact it didn't remove any of it, it just smeared a little. It was much more time consuming than just using a regular face wash or even micellar water. I have normal to dry skin and I was better off washing my face as normal and then using their moisturiser to hydrate my skin. I wouldn't recommend this as a cleaner that removes makeup.

But unfortunately, whilst it was lovely to apply to my skin and it did remove some of my makeup, it did not completely rid my skin of it. I would have to cleanse my skin again using the cleansing gel from the range. The cleanser left a residue on my skin too which made it difficult to continue with my morning routine of applying makeup. I would have to wash my face again. This product would be great if i already had perfect skin and didn’t wear makeup... but I don’t.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a fan of the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser at all! After following the  instructions, the cleanser did not shift any of my makeup. I then used with a cotton makeup pad with the product  and there was still alot of makeup left behind. The instructions say you can leave the product on and don't need to rinse with water, however the product felt thick and heavy and unpleasant. The cleanser might be suitable for people who dont wear makeup, but I certainly won't be using again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This cleanser is not really great for me, it can’t remove all your make-up, it is a thick cream and when I apply on my hand it does not foam up with water, I feel after I clean with it, it slightly stick on my face, it doesn’t feel clean with this product so I would not recommend it.

I don't wear heavy make-up but I needed to use my normal facial cleanser after this to completely clean my face.\nUnfortunately after a few days of use, my skin started to breakout a little on my forehead and I had to stop using the product.\n
