The Effaclar +M Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser by La Roche-Posay, with new active ingredient Phylobioma, targets the root cause of acne-prone skin. Powered By Microbiome Science. Directions

1. Wet face first with temperate water to open pores.
2. Apply a small amount of Effaclar +M Foaming Gel Cleanser.
3. Massage gently into the skin to form a lather. Apply gentle circular strokes on forehead, nose, chin & neck.
4. Rinse thoroughly with water.
5. Use Effaclar DUO+M Anti-Acne Moisturiser on cleansed skin to help target pimples and reduce recurrence.

Use morning and/or evening as a daily cleanser. Can also be used 1-3 times a week as a purifying pore cleanser.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This face wash is definitely the highlight of the range for me, and I feel it does a good job in controlling the oil in my skin without drying up and parching my skin. Although my face can feel on the tighter side after using the face wash, it definitely goes away once I apply serums and moisturisers over the top. A little goes a long way and it pairs well with the Effaclar Duo Plus. Would buy again.

I do feel the need to still go in with a scrub afterwards but if you were just looking for a cleanser for every day use for acne prone skin, you wouldn't go wrong with this product.\n\n

I found that my skin looked a little more glowy after regular use. The product was lightly scented but caused no irritation.

I use this in my regime as part 2 of a double cleanse to remove makeup at the end of a day. No horrible overpowering scent, easy to use packing for travel/ shower/basin. On my combination skin it allowed a thorough cleanse without stripping of all moisture. Definitely on my repurchase list, also suitable for my teenage daughter who has acne prone oily skin. It's a win for the family

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this face wash! It is now a staple in my shower/skin care routine. You only need a small amount and it foams up very well. I have found my skin to feel less oily and I have had less break outs. You also just feel so refreshed/cleansed after using it. I found my skin felt a little bit dry after using (however certainly not as dry as some other cleansers have left me feeling). I would follow up with the Effeclar Duo/Effeclar Mat and found that to be the perfect combination.

It feels really nice to apply and leave my skin feeling nice and clean without drying it out and making it feel too tight. I’ve defintely noticed an improvement in my skin since using this cleanser. A little goes a long way and it’s a really decent sized bottle so you definitely get your money’s worth!

It was was refreshing and gentle on my skin but also felt like it really cleared my pores without having to exfoliate and make my skin all rough and red afterwards. It works really well as a combination routine with the duo! Definitely 5 star worthy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've been using the Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel for about a month now and I must say that it has done a fabulous job in reducing my breakouts and making my skin feel less oily. This cleansing gel is designed specifically for oily and acne prone skin and I do think that it would not be suitable for people with dry skin as it is a bit drying. The gel foams very well creating a gentle lather and it leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh after I use it. I have been using it twice a day and have hardly had any pimples at all since I started to use it.\n\nIt comes in a great 200ml size and as you only need a little bit to cover the whole face, it is great value for money.\n\nI also really like that it is free from parabens.\n

Most of them were harsh and dried out my skin. This is brilliant. I only have to use a little amount and it foams up to a creamy gel, removing all the dirt on my skin without drying it out. Leaves my skin healthy and supple after washing my face and, my skin feels super clean. I would highly recommend this to anyone with acne prone skin. My acne is considerably under control now and my face is less oily. I'm extremely pleased. \n

I have really sensitive skin and I have never had any irritation from this. 200ml lasts ages - you only need a small amount. It has also assisted in clearing my skin up. I use with the Effaclar Duo moisturiser.

Its fragrance, paraben, soap free & has a ph of 5.5 to neutralise skin.\nThe container is a standard cleanser container with a flip top lid & contains 150mls.\nWhite in lotion this basic cleanser foams up on application to the skin with water. It does foam quite a lot but it does remove sunscreen & makeup very well. Excess oils are removed from the skin as well as pore clogging agents.\nSkin feels quite soft & smooth after use. It looks very clean which I like. I do occasionally find this cleanser can be drying on the skin which is unusual as I have combination skin. Skin can feel quite tight but I think its the foaming agents not so much the other ingredients. I also noticed that you need to use less of the product if this happens. That being said it does keep my skin breakout free. Its completely non irritating & I like it for combination/ oily skins/acne prone skin.\n

I have tried other cleansers but find I keep coming back to this one. My partner has even said he feels this is the better cleanser of all the ones we have tried so I think we will stick with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have sensitive skin and loved this foaming gel cleanser as its free from soap, alcohol, colorants and parabens so it never irritates and is super gentle. I also have an oily tzone and the cleanser effectively reduces oil for a reduction is shine and fresher skin. Its super easy to use and foams well, rinsing clear. After using this my skin feels so clean and fresh and feels soft, its quite hydrating and not at all drying as some gel cleansers can be. Its really well priced as I never need to use a lot and is packaged nicely. This is a great quality gel cleanser for anyone prone to acne or oily skin, its really effective and I would recommend it.

The product comes out in a thin worm amount so you do need to squeeze quite a bit of product. I love that this product is gentle enough to wash your whole face, even around your eyes but it is not a deep clean and find I need to use another cleanser to do the job properly. Good for everyday use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ever since I discovered La Roche-Posay Effaclar Foaming Gel it has literally been my go-to skincare product for breakouts. it also works so well with the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Plus, which you can buy in a starter pack together. I personally have sensitive skin and this is one of the very few skin care product that works for all types of skin including sensitive skin. I use it every day as it helps to clear my pore giving me a fresh face to start the day off. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Foaming Gel works best if used routinely to see the best result for your skin.

The cleanser does help to reduce any untoward breakouts, however, it did leave my skin feeling a little dry. Other than that this product is really nice to use\n\n

The gel formula of the cleanser was great because you don't need to use a lot of the product for it to foam up, and also a lot of product does come in the bottle. I'll definitely continue to use this product to see how the results are longer term.

For myself personally, I would prefer a 'stronger' product and will return to my regular once I use up the Effaclar Foaming Gel. The gel had no harsh smells, and didn't sting or tingle at all when applied to skin, but I felt like it wasn't as 'clean' as when I use my regular cleanser. When I tried this product, my skin wasn't as sensitive as it usually can be, so that might be why I felt like it didn't 'work' as well as my other cleanser, but it will be a great option for when I do have a flareup and I can't wait to see how well it performs then.

I still use my Dermalogica cleanser alongside as my skin is very prone to breakouts, but this product is a great addition to my night time cleansing routine. Would recommend!

I tried using both morning and evening but felt it dried my skin out too much. This stopped when I stared to use in the morning only. A little goes a long way which is nice. I’ll continue to use as it was nice and refreshing in the warmer weather. Not sure if my skin improved with this as I feel the rest of the range I noticed more of a dramatic difference with. A good cleanser overall that didn’t irritate or make my skin worse.

I did find my skin felt quite dry after I cleansed, and I needed to moisturise quickly after use so it wouldn't dry my skin out too much and cause a reaction. The gel consistency of this cleanser was easy to use and foamed up really nicely, making a little amount of product go a long way over my skin. I did not notice any dramatic differences in my breakout after using this for a month, but it always left my face feeling super clean, and it did not cause anymore breakouts to appear. If it was less drying on my oily skin, I think I would love this product more!
