When I received the shaver I was a little skeptical thinking this will be just like any other shaver that has an inbuilt moisturising bar, but I was pleasantly surprised by both the results it did achieve and also the ease of use The rubber grip on the shaver made it easy to hold and not fall out of your hand. However the suction cup that came as part of the packaging wasn't very useful, as the shaver kept falling off it. The razor had 5 blades which I liked, it provided me with a close shave especially around the curves near the knee areas. The water activated moisturising serum helped with keeping my skin both hydrated during shaving and also after shaving, as a result my skin felt smooth and silky. Because of this serum, the whole process of shaving was made easy and fast. The only downside to this product is that there isn't a lot of moisturising serum per razor blade. I could only use it about 4-5 times before it ran out. Over a long term period it would become a little expensive to keep buying the razor blades. Overall, I really enjoyed using this shaver. It's definitely one of the best ones out in the market at the moment. I loved how my skin felt moisturised, smooth and silky. If this shaver had more moisturising serum on each razor, I would definitely consider purchasing it as value for money is definitely important.

Rated 4 out of 5 by aleksandra from Close, smooth and hydrating shave! The Shick Hydro Silk razor has definitely impressed me during this trial. The first time I used the razor to shave my legs, I found that the 5 shaving blades worked wonderfully to remove every single hair from the area with ease. It provided a close and smooth shave. On the first few uses of the razor on my underarms and bikini area, I found that the razor also responded to the contours of the body really well. The razor features a water-activated moisturising serum that is infused with marine extracts. This serum allowed me to have a very smooth shave and left my skin feeling hydrated. For me, I found that this serum was hydrating enough for me to skip shaving cream on some days. It helped the razor glide across the skin much more easily. I really enjoyed the way that the razor is designed to flex to the contours of the body. The head of the razor is quite flexible so it allows you to get the closest shave possible. I never cut myself, experienced razor burn, or got any nicks from using this razor. I thing this might have been because of the nifty addition of unique skin guards on the razor which help to protect the skin from irritation. In terms of the razor itself, it has an ergonomic handle with a soft rubber grip which makes it easy to hold on to and ensures you won't drop it if you are using it in the shower. Overall this is a great razor for when you are after a close, smooth shave with the bonus of an included moisturizing serum!

This razor has 5 blades but I find that it doesn't always give me the close shave I didn't use shaving gel with this razor as it has its own conditioning gel in it This product really delivers- it leaves my skin moisturised, it gives me very smooth skin, and not dry or irritated after every shave Recommended!

Rated 4 out of 5 by princessxxpeach from Good razor - part of the trial team I was lucky enough to be selected to review this product as a member of the trial teams The packaging on the product was pretty to look at and everything was compact in a small package Inside the pack was a razor and 2 blade cartridges as well as a sticky bath wall holder The features of the handle reminded me a lot like the gillette venus handles which are easy to hold and fit in your hands without slipping through your fingers. The shick handle gets a thumbs up as the part where you attach the blade is very flexible so that the blade can contour into curves to get that perfect shave The first time I used this product it was quite gliding on the skin as the blades have a serum to hydrate the skin which is great but it was a lot on the first time around using it I did love the feel of my legs afterwards though as they were nice and smooth and did not feel as dry, a couple of uses though and the lovely glide feels odd when you glide it along your skin without a product already on the area your shaving which would be expensive if you had to replace those blades constantly Overall I had a good experience with this product, the holder was great as the shaver had somewhere to go without laying around the bath tub. Also it was a great idea to put a serum with the blades as a lot of people dont have time to moisturise and I felt that this helped me when I forgot to moisturise 4 out of 5 stars :)

Actually my current razor is also a Schick one from way back, just been replacing the head, so I knew the quality was always going to be good. I'm not really sure what the 'infused with marine extracts' bit means, but whatever it is, my skin felt pretty smooth after.

The razor actually impressed me a lot! I thought it would be like all the other ones i tried but No...it was actually wya different. The word 'hydro' did mean that it locked in a lot of the moisture you lose with other razors giving you that soft and supple feeling. THIS RAZOR DID DELIVER EXACTLY THAT! Another positive is the style of it. Very easy to hold and clutch and does not slide around to much. It moves with you and you have full control with it. It is gentle yet effective. Another positive which is great if your on a budget is that even after 3-5 shaves, the blades are working just as well! They do not wear out too quick which is great. They also do give a close shave meaning that they leave your skin prickle free for up to 3 days The only negative i would say was that it does have bit of a sracthy feeling but nothing too drastic which affected my sensitive skin Overall, i would definetly recommend this product to people wanting to try a new razor which delivers as well as keeping your budget in place. It is a great investmant and idal for a quick, fuss free shave :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by swoopingbuzzards from trial team review I've always used disposables so was interested to see if this would be any different. well I can tell you I'm pretty sure its sharper as I cut myself first use - I seriously had never cut myself before!! wasn't bad though once I got over this, it is pretty great! such a smooth shave and the little bumpy strips make a slime (LOL) when wet and it really does help you shave smoothly and quickly. no shaving rash or anything like that. and I have been using it for a few weeks and its still good and sharp! although I have noticed the bumpy strips have started to pop out on one side, but its still useable I've been actually using the hanger. I stuck it on the glass and it has not fallen down once (they always do) I'm really pleased with this and will be buying the replacement heads when I run out. thank you beauty heaven for the opportunity<3

It gives an excellently close shave, but I found the head was not quite manoeuvrable enough to use on my legs, leaving me with a lot of nasty little nicks. Whether this was a design flaw or just my own clumsiness I'm not sure, but it was enough to make me a little wary! This was a fantastic razor for my underarms and bikini area though, where less flexibility is required. I experienced no nasty ingrowns! I especially appreciated the inclusion of a second razor head and the little razor holder - my bathroom is incredibly cluttered and being able to store the razor on the shower wall is so convenient. Overall, I am not sure whether I would repurchase, as I prefer a razor which is suited to all areas that require attention, but I'm glad I was able to trial this product!

It arrived in a purple box and contains 1 razor handle, 2 razor heads and 1 wall mount holder. It was a little hard to remove from the box and the plastic packaging but was fine once I cut it open I used this shaver 2-3 times a week for 1 month. I always used this in the shower. The moisturising serum comes out once you have put it under water. I found the first time I used it a little too much came out but every subsequent use dispensed a good amount. It doesn't have a strong smell, quite subtle The razor itself is blue and it is an easy to hold shape that is perfect for the shower as you won't drop it. The 5 blades gave me a close shave and I only nicked my knee once. The razor head moves very well around the knees and ankles. It also worked really well on my underarms. My skin was left very smooth and I got an extra few days out of my shave when I did my legs I didn't like it for shaving the bikini area. It was still easy to use and a nice close shave, however the next day I would have little pimple like bumps where I shaved that I can only think to attribute to the serum as I don't usually use a shaving cream on that area I found the shower holder was easy to stick to the tiles in my shower and it hasn't budged yet Removing a razor head when there is no more serum was easy. You just press a button on the back of the handle and it comes off. Putting on the new one was a little trickier for me but maybe it would be easier to do when not in the shower and wet. I found one razor head to last almost a month Overall I was very happy with this product. My skin has been less scaly and it was very quick to shave. I have only ever used basic razors before so this was a real treat. I would probably buy this as I liked the shower holder and how my skin felt with the addition of the serum. It is a bit more expensive than basic razors but it really isn't expensive as a product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Starry-eyed from Smooth and silky legs! I received this razor as part of the Trial Team, and I was so excited to use it! In winter, my legs get so itchy and irritated after shaving if I forget to moisturise so I was keen to see if there was any difference with this razor First off the bat, the razor is easy to hold and the rubberised grip ensures that you won't drop it, even if your hands are covered in shaving cream! This is particularly handy when you're in a hurry! The moisturising aloe vera makes your legs feel quite gooey and silky which I like- it made it very easy to tell which areas had been shaved, not to mention making my legs feel lovely and soft I did a few tests to see whether the aloe vera made any difference to itchy legs, and shaved with and without moisturising afterwards. While there was obviously a better result with moisturising afterwards, my legs didn't feel at all itchy and dry when I didn't moisturise! However, I found I didn't like this razor as much for underarms, the gooeyness which feels delightful on legs wasn't as pleasant under my arms- but it did the job well in any case! I only got a nick or two on my legs after the first use, and after that, everything was fine and injury free!

I was very impressed with the Schick Hydro Razor, as Deb says in the video tutorial, it feels like a close shave (which is always what you want really) so there was no prickly feeling for at least 2 days. The moisturising buds I shall call them, really moisturised the skin and after shaving both legs I could rub them together in the shower and they felt so slippery smooth it was quite amazing! The razor itself is very lightweight, and super comfortable to hold. It pivots not only up and down but a little side to side as well, so it glides over curves really well. I only have 2 minor downsides for this razor, sometimes it felt like I could feel the actual blades scraping over my skin, which was a tad strange but my skin never stung or felt like a dry scraping shave. The second point would be perhaps a tiny bit large to shave the underarms smoothly, but I guess that gets the job done quicker so it's not that bad. After using the product I felt pretty good! Slick and smooth and fuzz free, a great shave result. I was worried the moisturising buds on the blades would have a heavy perfume, but I can't smell any at all. The one thing I love about the moisturising buds is that they are totally multi-use! I've been using the razor for about 3-4 weeks now and the blades not only still feel sharp, but the moisturising buds still work every time! How's that for value?!

After a few uses they are pretty much totally gone, and if you arent careful get stuck on washers, exfoliating gloves etc Other then that i still love the razor, because it does provide amazing results

Pros: I did not nick myself once using this razor. It was very comfortable on the skin and well cushioned to protect you from nicks even in tricky places. I liked the grip on it and the shape of the razor, I didn't slip at all or drop it. Cons: No real complaints but some shortfalls. It didn't give me the closest shave I've ever had, There were a couple of places I had to go over more than once. I found the gel/serum part too slippery and I think this was one factor that hindered the closeness of the shave. The hanger wasn't very good, the razor kept falling off it. I still needed to use shaving cream - the silky part wasn't enough for me Overall satisfied but I won't be switching to this one.

All in all four stars The packaging looks great, and the suction cap for the shower is especially practical! The most impressive part about the shave was the smoothness of the razor over my legs! The soap was super handy and helped it glide over my skin. The razor was incredibly easy to use and had firm and steady grip for ultimate coverage of the leg. Using the shaver for underarm usage was PERFECT. I have never experienced such a close shave with no cuts. The razor made me feel super confident and sexy, ready to go out! Four days later and still silky smooth. Great job Shick :)

I love the fact it includes the extra blades and the shower holder, which I think when purchased you feel you got value for money. The razor itself is soft, easy to hold and curves in all areas. Its hard to believe your shaving because it is so gentle on the skin. Being a moisterising razor you really only need to rinse the blade under warm water and use minimal shaving cream or gel as it wont cut hair as closely and starts to feel gooey. I found i had to go over areas a few times to grab all the hairs however I was really impressed and satisfied by the super softness of my skin at the end of each shave. I admit I'm a super quick/careless shaver and always seem to end up with at least one cut but I didn't get any from using this razor.I'm happy to keep using the Hydro Silk razor as once you've gotten used to using minimal shaving gel, it does the job fantastically.

I previously used another shaver with 5 blades as well, but wasn't able to get the smaller hairs at the bottom of my armpits like this blade did! This shaver was super comfortable to use, especially with the strip of moisture around the blade, which really preps and smooths the surface of the skin. I'm overall happy with the results and would purchase this product again!

Therefore I always like to have a good shaver around that I can use for a quickie What I like about this shaver: -it has five blades so i get a closer smooth shave (therefore the time between shaving is longer) -it has moisturising serum! (This is what I love about this, keeps my legs smooth and silky. I usually hate shaving because of the dry irritation later) It comes in a neat purple package with two refills and a hanger. Therefore you can hang it in the shower to use whenever you need it and the extra refill comes in handy too. It has a wide handle so easy to grip and use This shaver has been a gem to use and is definitely something I can get used to. (Since I got this i haven't epilated or waxed!)

Everyone should use this razor at least once The packaging is small and neat but kind of hard to get the razor out of the packet. Its a nice bright purple colour and it comes with a spare blade and a holder to stick to the shower glass (make sure you are sticking it to glass, not tiles otherwise it won't stick, and keep it out of the way of water) The blade curves to your body for a nice, smooth close shave. Worked wonderfully on my legs and bikini area, little bit disappointed for my underarms, but still a close shave. When you run the head underneath the water it activates the moisture strip so you don't have to use shaving cream (WIN!) and it leaves your legs nice and smooth and doesn't nick your skin (well I haven't nicked my skin yet!) and the handle fits nicely in your hands I probably would re purchase the razor blades for when i run out of my normal razor cos its great, but not too often cos it can get pricey A downside is that sometimes the razor leaks too much of the moisturiser and can end up everywhere and does make shaving a little bit hard sometimes, so it loses a star for that.

This does a great job, a nice smooth shave, and the self soaping strip means yiu dont have to worry with lathering up your legs first. This part is great for a time poor new mum It is nice to hold, all ergonomically designed The only downside is that initially there is too much self soaping - rather too much product coming off the strip in the first few uses. Other than that, this a great razor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nimbus from Nice & Easy First, I have a confession. This is the second razor I've ever used as I am only new to shaving as I was waxing before. So I suppose this is a good review for people just learning how to shave! First, I found the shape of the razor really user friendly. It had indents right where your fingers should be and it didn't matter what way your hand was positioned it was easy to hold. The colours were nice and cute The soap was great and really helped it glide on smoothly BUT i found that it ran out really quickly after only a few shaves so it didn't feel as effortless after about 5 times. I did find this razor only needed 1 swipe to get all the hairs of effectively and you didn't have to spend ages going over the same spot (as i did with my first razor) As for regrowth, I can't really comment as I dont know how long is normal/expected. The suction cap it came with was EXCELLENT and stuck to my shower perfectly. Additionally, it came with an extra razor head which is handy Overall, good product, easy to use :)

Shaver handle is nice, gel, with gripping ridges on it and shaver as a whole a nice looking unit. The blade head tilts which is great for going over the knees I tested on underarms & legs. There is a lot of the gel stuff to begin with but after a few uses there isnt so much making a mess. Close shave & legs feel silky smooth! Thanks BH for letting me trial this product! :)

The razor comes in a nice purple packaging with a spare head and a suction cap for easy storage in the shower. The razor has 5 blades allows for a very close shave. The handle I found to Be a little chunky but has a lovely gel covering allowing a good grip. This razor looks very pretty hanging in my shower. I found there to be no scent from the gel moisture strip, this strip did become a little gooey, but didn't interfere with shaving. I used my body wash as a shave cream. I used this product on my legs and underarms but preferred using it on my legs only, the razor head was too chunky to giv me a close shave on my underarms. Overall this razor is great for legs, very smooth soft legs post shave, I stil moisturizerd post shave but found my legs didn't get that dry skin look with this razor. I wil definitely stick to using this razor, only down fall is the cost of additional razors :(

With my first i got a nice smooth cut free shave because of the combination of 5 blades and the gel activated strips, there was no need to go over again as the shave was close enough. But with the second use i ended up cutting my legs a few times, although it could have to do with that i didn't use shaving cream. I felt that the handle was a little awkward to hold depending on the position, but overall i really liked this razor, which i good as i am fussy about razors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Trial Team When I first received this product I was really impressed by the packaging, it's a very attractive purple colour - and being my favourite colour this would attract me to buy this shaver over others in store. It was easy to remove from the packaging and I even found that it came with a spare head for the shaver. When I first used the shaver it was mentioned on the box to run it under water before use. The handling of the shaver was an absolute breeze, the handle had a comfortable grip and an attractive 'water ripple' design, and the head of the shaver moved comfortably whilst shaving. The water-activated gel actually smelled kind of nice. I found that the activated 'gel' on the shaver made shaving a bit of a gooey mess but I did get a close shave as a result of using it. I'd reccomend using a very minimal amount of shaving cream with this product because if the gel strip gets too gooey it becomes extremely hard to shave. I would consider buying this product again but I think I may try another in the Shick Hydro range to see if there is a less slippery alternative. Another upside of this product is that I didn't cut myself once because it just curved with all of the shaving motions I applied and didn't catch anywhere, that is a major plus. I also like how there is an added suction cup for propping the shaver on the wall for convenience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SheriBomb from Trial Team I really loved this razor - it gave me a very close shave and the 5 blades, curve-sensing blades, gel handle and ergonomic shape of the razor made it very easy to use. It's probably the easiest razor I've ever used and made shaving my legs really quick and easy! The conditioning lotion was nice but runs out far before the life of the razor which is a little disappointing. It lost one star for that, but otherwise a great razor that I really enjoyed using and one that I would purchase again.

It gave a me very close, (actually the closest I've ever gotten) shave on my underarms, which I was very happy with, but I found that the head was a little bit awkward to get into the curves. It lost one star because it kind of just clicks into one of three positions rather than moving smoothly. The shaving power of the razor outweighs this problem though The conditioning strip works very well, I found that it dispensed enough of the lotion, and I didn't need to use any shaving cream. On my legs I didn't have to keep going over the same spot all the time, it took all the hair off the first go. The five blades are quite powerful. The handle is made of gel and is easy to grip and maneuver. I haven't experienced any cuts or dryness whilst using this razor. Thankyou BH, this was a pleasure to trial.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TheNewMe from Hydro-Inspired My tip? Don't over-do it on shaving gel / soap when shaving in the shower. Because water activates the moisturizing serum on the razor, excess moisture makes the serum turn sticky and it becomes like working with a spider web.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Yohanna from Good shaver I got this shaver to use along my at home IPL machine. Before each treatment I have to have a good and smooth shave, without any nicks. And this shaver is good for that! The pack comes with handle and 2 cartridges, plus added stick on hanger for the shaver. I found this hanger to be utterly useless. It does not work, as in just a minute the shaver falls on the ground. No matter where you stick this hanger,same will happen. So I keep this shaver in the drawer The blades are very good and there are 5 of them, plus moisture 'dots' along the top of the cartridge. They get activated with the moisture when shaving in the shower. I do not use shaving creams or anything when shaving anyways, so this is a plus. However it will not last long. Still no need for shaving foam (at least not for me) The shaver gives smooth shave and leaves my skin soft. Also for the replacement cartridges when you ran out of these 2 : make sure you get Schick Hydro Silk Shower Hang Refills with 5 blades and moisture activating serum. I took one star off as my previous shaver was with the smaller, actually narrower head, had superb performance and did outlast in number of shaves per cartridge (i.e. beats Schick in longevity). This one has a big head, harder to maneuver everywhere (yup, I do almost everything, Tassy area too).

Rated 3 out of 5 by Rachwho from Easy to hold in the shower Bought this on sale at the supermarket The shaver is nice with large easy to grip rubber handle which is helpful especially if using it in the shower I was impressed with the shave, it is effortless and I don't need to go over a few times. The shave is close and clean which is exactly what I want The moisturising strip I could have done without and it forms lumps at the shaver which is annoying I like this shaver and would repurchase at sale price.
