Rated 4 out of 5 by PandaBear18 from Best Razor i've used I love this razor, I don't think i've ever used one that's been so close and not caused any irritation! The Schick Hydro Silk has 5 blades (usually I use a disposable razor with 3 blades) I think the 5 blades really helps with the close shave you get, i can go almost 3 weeks between shaving my legs with this razor. The Moisturising strip is quite long lasting, not like some razors which the strip either crumbles or stops working after the first use. I like the handle too, it fits nicely into your hand and the grooves in it keep your grip when you have shaving cream or body wash on your hands. The refill cartridge blades are a little expensive, but i think really worth it in the scheme of things. Especially for young girls shaving for the first time i think a proper razor like this would definitely save a few chunks out of the knees or ankles!

Rated 4 out of 5 by misfortune8 from Superior Smoothness To Disposables, But a Little Clunky To Manoeuvre 5 Blades! We'll be shaving with venetian blinds next! I do get a close shave with this razor, but it's a little cumbersome to use: I sometimes have to nudge the top edge of the blade head so that it sits flat against my skin. I use Cetaphil or fragrance-free sorbolene as a shaving cream, so I haven't noticed much of a difference with the moisturising strip. The strip was all gone after 1 and a half full leg shaves. Shaving has never been my preferred method of hair removal. I've been using an epilator for many years, but I'm currently undergoing IPL hair removal treatments, which means I'm only permitted to shave. I used disposable razors for my first few IPL treatments, & the difference between those cheapies & this razor is noticeable. Prior to IPL treatment, I haven't shaved regularly since my 20s: I'm now 50! It's been so many years since I shaved regularly that I don't think I've ever used a three or four blade razor! (I'm a dinosaur!) This 5 blade razor shaves me smoother & the blade has lasted well, but I'm glad I won't have to use this clunky razor permanently. Made in USA & assembled in China. Rated 4 out of 5 by Am1851 from Nice close shave I am always looking for the perfect razor and though I was happy with the very close shave after a single glide, thanks to the 5 blades in the contoured cartridge, I will still continue my search. Shaving legs is a real chore and this razor certainly made the task less of a chore with the beautiful contour cartridge and the many blades without the need to go over areas already covered. The gel lubricated, the contour cartridge just glided beautifully, the razors did their job perfectly, but, I was disappointed in the grip of the razor as I found it slipping within my hands and had to wrap a washer to make sure it would not slip during shaving Shaving underarms was a little tricky due to the contour and I was concerned that I may nick my skin if I tended to go closer so my end result was not as smooth as I would have liked. Perhaps using a contour cartridge takes a bit of practise to get the perfect shave. I don't think I would like to spend so much money on a shaver as my legs already have become spikey the following day after use.

I'd won this product in a BH competition (thanks- made my day!) otherwise I would have continued to avoid shaving and would have seriously missed out! At last I can shave my legs without spending days afterwards scratching my dry and upset legs. The moisturising strip does the job nicely, and while the head of the shaver is quite large I haven't had any issues with nicks or cuts, even when navigating the less straightforward parts of the body The shave itself is close with lovely smooth results. I can get by for a week or so without reshaving which is great. The shaver feels great in the hand, and all round I'm super happy that a competition win has got me back in to shaving with this great product!

Gives a nice close shave and has an easy grip handle. Down side is I found I couldn't leave it in the shower because the gel would constantly leak and get very tacky, causing it to run out quickly. Like the way the gel moisturises the skin afterwards, as I find sometimes shaving gels and creams can dry my legs out.

I used the razor while in the shower and the water activated the gel which helped the blades to glide so smoothly. It gave such a nice close shave and left my skin moisturised, unlike when i use other razors. I was surprised at how smooth my skin felt. I also love the shape of the handle which fits nicely in my hand. It also has a soft rubber grip which makes it easier to hold. Overall, I'm very happy with this product. It's my favourite razor at the moment that actually make me feel like shaving.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bellefleur from Gentle on the skin, fierce on unwanted hair! I got this razor in the last Beautorium and it actually took me a while to get it out of the box and try it out. I generally switch between epilating and shaving depending on how my hair is behaviour ie. in-grown hairs, bumps etc. And I generally stick to simple disposable razors and basic shaving cream, when I do shave. So this is the fanciest razor I have ever used and I must say that it did take some getting used to for me. I found the sliding and curving head a bit tricky at first, but once I got the hang of it, I did enjoy the results. While I can't say that it gave me a much closer shave then I would get from my normal disposable razor, it left my skin feeling very soft and moisturised. So it definitely lives up to its 'hydro' name. I liked the shower holder that came with the razor too. Nice touch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Lani06 from Gentle razor I find this razor is a lot more flexible around curves. It feels really gentle and gives a close shave. I also love the little holder that suctions to the bathroom wall (it's never fallen off). The one thing that's weird is depending what soap you're using, the moisturiser that the razor releases sometimes doesn't mix well, and I had a sticky mixture on my skin - but that washed off fine. I think the moisturiser released by the razor does have an effect on decreasing skin irritation. This razor feels really good quality when I use it, and I'm glad I chose this in beautorium!

The razor easy to hold and is nice and wide especially when trying to reach the back of your legs. Always left the house nice and silky. The suction cup holder is so convenient and the re-fills are generous but are pricey when you purchase more. The only thing that annoys me is that the conditioner within the razor to keep your skin hydrated runs out fast when you rinse it. Other than that great product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Elunia from A close shave with a hydrating gel but not for travelling This Schick Hydro Razor is a nice product to have – only it does not travel well. Trust me, I will explain later. This razor has a nice and soft touch blue coloured handle which is easy to hold and does not slip. The shaving head is made of a white and aqua coloured plastic with 5 blades and the head is easily removed and replaced by pressing on the release leaver on the back of the handle. The razor blades are quite sharp and gives you a close and even shave. The moistening strips help the blades glide across the skin so that there are no nicks and bumps and definitely no missed hairs. I took the first razor I got of this type with me for an overseas trip where I was travelling every day. Each time I used it I tried my best to dry off any excess water from the razor before I placed it in a zip lock bag, removed as much air as possible and put it in my suitcase. Each time I took it out to be used again the moisture strips had expanded and the inside of the zip lock bag was a horrible gooey mess. This also meant that there was a lot of gel I needed to remove before I could get the razor exposed again. Therefore if you are travelling a lot just consider a more basic razor. This second time was a much nicer experience since I was able to let the razor to air dry naturally and not in a confined space.

It gives a really nice close shave, especially compared to other razors so you don't have to shave as often. I also love the moisture strips which means that your skin isn't left as dried out and cracked, however these don't last as long as the blades and peel off in water meaning many of your shaves don't have this benefit.

The blades give a close shave while the moisturising band leaves the skin feeling very slick which helps the razor glide over the skin. These are darn expensive though!

I might have been converted! I love the shape and feel of this razor. The handle feels really nice and the razor moves effortlessly on my skin on even the hardest to reach places. I found the lubricating strip a bit gooey for the first couple of uses, but after that, it feels less gooey. All in all, it's a great razor!

This little razor with the replaceable head is great in that it's got a gel strip that goes across the top of it, which moisturizes as you shave. I tend to replace it once the gel strip disappears, and the handle is easy to use, not at all cumbersome, which means that you can steer it around all the nooks and crannies. Smooth, happy skin - that's all I can ever ask from my razor! I will say, however, that I do love my disposable razors - they are just a little easier for me.

The get patch does leak out sometimes if left under water, so best to keep it in a dry spot when not using it. I think the gel patch is what leaves my skin nice and smooth and not dry. When the gel runs out, it's time to change the head!

It left my skin feeling amazingly smooth and silky, delivering a close, long lasting shave. The moisturising bar left my skin feeling luscious, however, it didn't last very long, after about two weeks use, the moisturising strip had pretty much disappeared. The razor continued to give me a consistent close shave long after the moisturising gel had run out. It glided beautifully over all of my skin, and passed the test on my knees with flying colours. I didn't realise just how luxurious this razor was until I returned to a disposable razor, and regretted it straight away, wishing I had my hydro-silk back. ”¨It comes in a package with two cartridges, plus the handle and a suction holder, which makes it super easy to hang in the shower. The handle fits perfectly in the hand, giving just the right amount of grip for a perfect shave every time. ”¨The refill pack is a little expensive, but you get 4 cartridges per pack, and they do last a long time, so I personally think they're a good investment. It gives a much closer and more effective shave than any other razor I have ever used, and left my skin feeling much silkier. My only wish was that the moisturising gel strip lasted longer, but a silky feeling was achieved even after that had run out.

The original packet comes with the razor stick and two refills. The razor itself fits nicely in your hands with a comfortable grip. And the razor head is easy to attach and remove. Always a nice close shave with a moisturizing strip to help keep your skin smooth. I very rarely nick or agitate my skin when using this. Always a bonus.

It is easy to hold with a comfortable grip, easy to use and always provides a close shave (with its five blades) without leaving my skin feeling irritated or dry. The top of the razor moves along with the contours of my leg which makes shaving easier and less prone to nicks or cuts.

I like that the 5 sharp blades leaves me with smooth silky legs and with the water activation, it is so easy to use in the shower. Another plus is the movable top following the contours of where you are shaving. It doesn't feel anything like my old cheap razor. On the downside, refills are expensive and hair growth remains the same.

However, the first couple times I used it I found little nicks and cuts the next day. I could swear I was very careful and gentle in shaving my legs but clearly I wasn't. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the razor's design or my own faulty shaving technique but it is something to keep in mind. I'll consider getting them again if my legs stop getting cut (tiny ones, mind you!) otherwise I'll probably buy another brand's razor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kate486 from Pretty Good This Razor is nice, very pleasant to use, with the moisture panels it doesn't even feel like you are using a razor - more like you are running soap along your leg yet you are left with a close shave which i did really like. Once the moisture part wears away, which admittedly is pretty fast, it acts like a normal razor. I wouldn't say that it leaves my legs hair-free for any longer than a normal razor. The only thing that has put me off buying re-fills for this razor is the price, im not a fanatic when it comes to shaving im not very fussy so im still contemplating whether it is worth the price or if i should go back to my old cheap razors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Stensen from Decent Razor A decent razor which is I found quite hydrating. It has 5 blades for a super close shave - but don't panic because I have not nicked. I'm usually somewhat careless with my razor andDespite the rubber handle, I tend to drop my razors a lot and then the blade falls off and I have to reconnect the cartridge. But that doesn't happen here. It's so easy to hold on to with the rubber handle and weighs next to nothing. Being able to buy refills is also a plus. My only complaint is the moisturising beads in the skin guard which unfortunately seems to run out quickly. Other "moisturising" razors have the entire head of the razor coated with the lubricant which eventually falls off and isn't perfect either but at least it lasts longer than the beads.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dash26 from Silky smooth results I retrieved this razor as part of a trial team and have been using it since. I love that it is flexible and moves to suit your shape and curves. It moisturizes the skin effectively, but I have noticed that the moisturizer strips wear out quickly. Regardless of this, the razor shaves just as well. It is a close shave and none of those nasty stubbly hairs are left behind. The shape of the razor is great because it fits in the hand easily and comfortably. It's easy on the eyes too, but it could do with better packaging and instructions, or a bonus head due to the moisturizer running out quickly. Overall, it's a great shaver though and sure beats most of the disposables, reusable, and electricals that I've tried during my hunt for the perfect shaver!

However I think that the moisturising aspect didn't quite live up to the claims for me and it seemed to run out quite quickly. If you are prepared to use shaving gel or conditioner on your legs while you shave this will give you a great result.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Saje from Convenient & comfortable Razor with Excellent Results I received Schick Hydro Silk Razor as a sample and really like the look and feel. The soft touch handle was easy to grip and didn't get slippery in the shower. There were no instructions on how to get the best results, so I first tested by shaving a leg that was wet from the shower and the other leg with shaving foam. The leg with shaving foam had a closer shave and smoother finish. The moisturising effect was more noticeable on the leg which did not have shaving foam on it. The water activated moisturising serum doesn't last as long as the blades, but as the moisturising effect is not long lasting anyway, I just went back to my normal moisturising routine. The blades seem to stay sharp for a long time and while it is a bit pricey I found it convenient and comfortable to use.

I love how sturdy yet soft it feels in my hand and its very easy to maneuver around the lumps and bumps of my knees, ankles, calves and thighs. It gets a little more tricky with bikini line but not so hard it isn't doable. I don't notice a huge difference with the serum but I suppose I haven't noticed as much irritation lately so this might be the cause of the reduction. The packaging, as with all razors is annoying but I'm sure that's perfectly appropriate.

It is easy to use and provides a really close shave without irritating skin. I do use this product with a shaving gel, but the in built moisturising serum provides further protection for my skin. Ordinary razors can sometimes leave my skin feeling dry and irritated but I have not experienced that with this product. I will be re-purchasing.
