I was attracted to the packaging as well, and I was able to purchase it on sale at my Chemist. The first time I used the razor it was fine. I found it easy to hold and manoeuvre around my body. Unfortunately, from the second time onwards I was dissapointed. It did not give me the closest shave that I wanted, and left my legs covered in nicks and cuts. The little moisturising strip did absolutely nothing after the first use of the razor. Since the price of the refills are so high, I was not satisfied enough with the product to re purchase. I am still on the hunt for the perfect razor!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Miffny from Not Bad at all. I love this razor so much it doesn't nick my legs I like the blue color too. I have found that using it everyday I go through a blade every 5 to 6 days as the moisturizing strips fall off which is annoying as I Never leave it in the shower .

Rated 3 out of 5 by Princess Perfume from A Few Nicks I want to say I love this product because I won it in the Glosscars (thanks BH) and because there are so many good reviews but this really nicked my legs in spite of the flat blades and swivel head. I'm not too sure what went wrong because it felt fine while I was shaving with it and it was only later that I realised that I had a lot of cuts. I did use foam and was pretty careful but I still managed to nick myself in several places. It might be better after a few shaves have dulled the blade a bit. I also don't have the smoothest legs around which may have made it more difficult but while it did give a close shave and my legs feel smooth I have to mark it down in terms of gentleness. Obviously though, most others don't have problems with it but I would say this would be best for those with normal to oily skins and possibly not for those with sensitive, dry skin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by emms32 from Wasnt close enough for me. I used the Schick Hydro Silk Razor on my underarms. I found the packaging to be quite eye catching and a bit difficult to pop out the back . The razor had a good handle however the in shower holder felt cheap and looked quite plain. It wouldn't attach to the walls of my shower and had to go in the glass door. I compared my under arm shaved with a budget end shaver and the Hydro Silk , and found the shave wasn't as close on the Schick side . I liked the convenience of the in built moisturiser on the Schick , but found i still wanted that extra lather of a soap before shaving . I didn't notice any after shower extra moisturisation in comparison to my regular shaver either . There was no real smell to the product , and nothing lingering after the shower. The re growth was exactly the same on both under arms .

Rated 3 out of 5 by bebeautiful34 from Great razor Thank you BH for including me into the trial for the Schick Hydro Silk! This was a nice sleek razor and I like the shape and grip of it. The holder is handy for sticking it on the shower, the razor is easy to use and the blades are easy to replace. As advised, I shaved one leg with this and the other with my trusty Gilette Venus, and I must say I found no difference in the results. Both give close shaves, and my legs were smooth and hairless afterwards. With this razor I was really interested in the water activated moisturising serum, so I didn't use a shave gel. I don't know if I needed my legs to be completely drenched for the serum to work, because it certainly didn't feel hydrated like I expected. In fact, it felt so dry I had to slather on a body butter afterwards. I will definitely use it like my other razor and use a shave gel. I think this was a great razor which gave me a close shave, but I felt it didn't live up to the moisturising claims, which is why I give it a lower score. It was comparable to my Gilette razor, and I was disappointed because I was expecting what the claim promised. It looks like everyone else loved the razor, so I'm not sure it didn't work so well for me, but I didn't think this was very special.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Calla from Trial Team Review I have been using my Schick "silk effects" razor for more years than I care to remember and I love it, so I was keen to try the latest offering from Schick - the "hydro silk". With 5 blades (compared to only 2 for the silk effects) I was expecting great things. Sadly, the hydro silk didn't offer the results I was after. It did adjust to the contours of my skin nicely and the handle was easy to hold, but it didn't offer as close a shave as I expected. In fact, I used it on one leg and my silk effects on the other and there was really no difference. The moisturising serum didn't appear to moisturise and the extra three blades made no difference. At more than double the price of silk effects and more than double the blades, I expected more, but the hyro silk didn't deliver. I will continue to use my trusty silk effects.

Rated 3 out of 5 by cherry pie from Trial Team Review This is the last time I will use a razor designed for women. I can't stand the huge heads and built-in moisturisers that don't work. This razor would be great for legs and probably feel really cushy, but I don't shave my legs and I found it impossible to get a close shave with this razor on my arms and elsewhere. The bulky head is hard to manoeuvre and after a day of leaving it on the rack in the shower, the moisturiser strips had swelled up so the razors couldn't get close to my skin. I had to peel them off so I could use it. The packaging was great - razor was easy to remove, so points for that, and it's easy to hold, but I will go back to using mens' razors in future so I can get a close shave.

It glided on my legs as the moisture strip was activated by water. It gave such a close shave and left my legs hairless for a week!! I was soo shocked I kept using it to see how effective it was. After a few uses I found that the moisture strip dissolved and you def needed shaving cream or conditioner to put on your legs first or it's just as bad as shaving dry. It didn't leave my legs as smooth and hair grew back quicker. The razor just became blunt I guess from use. The packaging and design of the razor are fine and I would still use it as a straight razor but disappointed that the new feature of the water activated moisture strip pretty much only lasts after the first shave!

Even though I was not keen to shave I'm glad there is a razor to make it a more pleasent experience. I found the razor itself great for underarms and legs but found it a bit bulky and hard to manouver for bikini area although it did feel safe to use and wasn't too worried about cutting myself or anything.The lubricating strips really work well but I did still want to put on a little shave cream on for larger areas. The razor sits well in the shower and I like its stylish look it would be great if it came in several colors. I find the razor quite expensive so I will defiantly use the refill as well to and then see if I would purchase it in the future.

That's got to be the most I've ever seen on a razor. This razor is great for shaving legs very smooth to use, with skin guards to protect from knicks and skin irritation. the razor also has a movable head so that it can move to match the curves of your legs, this is great for legs but I found this to be really annoying when shaving underarms and bikini line. The razor also had some moisturising serum to protect your legs but I found that too much came off when I used it The razor also comes with an additional blade for when the first one gets blunt and a suction thing for storing in the shower. This was a nice touch All in all, it was a nice razor. Great and ideal for shaving legs but almost impossible to use for other areas which I found a bit annoying. The 5 blades were nice but when using for areas other than legs made the razor too big..

I prefer to wax my underarms and bikini area, so that's kind of my background/history with razors and how I tend to use them I did try this razor on my underarm and bikini area and had some irritation under my arms. I'm not sure if this is due to the actual razor or just the fact that I'm not used to shaving there. I really enjoyed using the razor for my legs, as it gave a really close shave with no cuts and it worked well on the curved areas of my legs. The moisturiser serum is great. It was very hydrating and made it a very smooth and comfortable shave. I was able to go almost a week without shaving again I didn't have any issues with the in-shower holder and found it quite handy. However, the moisturising serum did ooze out a little bit while I wasn't using it. I think it would benefit from an extra cap, I just use the plastic cover that it came with Great, quick, hydrating razor for the legs!

The pack included a small suctioned holder which I felt was a little philmsy as the razor just balanced on it and was easily knocked off. The first shave was really good and gave a nice close shave, leaving my legs and underarms silky smooth, but I found on the 4th time I used it that the blade had become quite blunt and left lots of small nicks. which was a little disappointing as I'd like to get more then 4 uses out of a blade before needing to change it over. I don't think I'd repurchase the refills simply because it's too expensive to only get 4 uses out of a blade. Overall I don't think this razor was suited to my hair type.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Dancenow13 from Hydro Silk Razor I've been trialing this for a few weeks now. I was quite excited to get it, and it came just when I needed a new razor, so thanks BH! This is a pretty large 5 blade razor, perfect for shaving just about anywhere. On the razor head itself are strips of a moisturising serum, which is great in theory because it means you don't need to use as much soap or shaving cream! Unfortunately for me, the amount of serum coming off of my razor was seriously out of control, and still is after weeks of use! I'm not sure if my razor is slightly faulty, but it's meant that I only need the tiniest amount of soap, because there is already more than enough serum, sometimes so much that it's actually dripping off the razor! Other than that, this is a great razor. Because of the larger head size and 5 blades, it gives an even, thorough shave and actually saves you time because it covers so much skin at once. It's also very easy to hold even while in the shower, and it comes with a spare head too I am hoping that once I switch over to the other head in the box, this razor will live up to all its hype for me, but until then I'm unsure as to whether I'll be purchasing it again...

To be honest, it was amazing and the shave wasnt as great as i would have thought- great for your underarms, not so great for your legs (i had to go over the same patch a fair bit) It came with a suction pad so can be stuck to the wall but it just fell over every time i closed the shower door (and after a while the head broke (so would have to replace the whole thing). The packaging was also a hassle as it was hard to get out: think one of those christmas toys you got when you were little that required hours of precise movements to get out of the packet A great positive was that the moisturised tip activates with water meaning it leaves you quite soothed and smoothe and you dont have to use shaving cream (big win!). It fits your hands perfectly and moves with your curves without nicking the skin (always a hazard of shaving). I probably would re purchase the razor blades for when i run out of my normal razor, but i wouldn't use it all the time. It would get expensive replacing blades.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jessessential from it does the job Got to try this in the BH trial team! The package it comes in has a lot of plastic in it, too much for my liking. It comes with a spare blade, and a suction holder to stick on your shower wall tiles. ( which never stayes stuck no matter how much force or water I use , every thing is on the ground when I come home from work ) the shaver itself claimed to be moisturising when in contact with water. It didnt do this until the second time round . And now the gooey stuff secreets everwhere for hours after im finished using it . The 5 blades do a nice close shave indeed. I love it for my underarms. The head is fairly flexible to reach hard to reach places. The handle is user friendly. My conclusion : A shaver that does what its supposed to do, but the blades are always pricey to replace so I wouldn't buy all the time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by My.Nongy from Hydro silk This razor came boxed with a spare razor head and a little suction cup holder for the shower. The packaging said to run under water to activate the hydro silk. I applied shaving lotion, run the razor under water then started to shave my bikini line. Perhaps I used too much shaving lotion but it turned into a gooey mess and the razor had a lot of trouble achieving a close shave. I rinsed off the shaving lotion and tried one swipe without it thinking perhaps I wasn't supposed to use shaving lotion with it. It felt very dry so I stopped and put the thinnest application of shaving lotion on before trying again. This was more sucessful but I still didn't feel I was getting a close shave. My bikini area really flared up, more so than usual. After a few days of applying lots of bump eraser the angry bumps and redness went away but I won't use this razor on my bikini area again. I have since been using the razor on my underarms with very nice results. The shave seems to be close enough and the skin is left feeling hydrated with no signs of dryness or irriation. The suction cup sticks to the glass in the shower nicely and hasn't fallen, but as a holder it doesn't really grasp onto the razor and instead balances it so it can fall off easily. Overall a nice razor but I probably wouldn't buy again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Fibee123 from Good razor, but too many negatives (trial team) Firstly, this is a great razor when it comes to getting all the hairs on your legs and underarms, with very little effort. I assume this is because of the five blades leading to more precision. I also LOVE the way you can just hold the razor straight and the razor head revolves around your curves. However, I found quite a few negatives that would lead me to not purchase this. 1. the holder is AWFUL. Very minimalist, you need good aim to get the razor in and stay there, and there is nowhere to put the spare blades, therefore... 2. ...you will inevitably lose the spare packet of blades. I did within days. 3. The gel stuff is too gel-y for me, it literally oozes Great for a close shave, needs some serious design changes before I consider it a worthwhile purchase. Despite being a closer shave, I'd rather go back to cheapy disposables because the negatives of this razor completely turn me off it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by pepsilid from Trial Team I absolutely loved the idea of this razor. I thought it was very smart the way it incorporated the shaving and the soap for such a simple shave. But upon using it I found it wasn't as simple as I first thought. It comes with a suction clip for sitting the razor on the wall with- although it is a little tacky and not exactly practical as it did fall off infrequently I didn't feel that the soap was really made to last and felt that I was going over my legs multiple times. I think it was more practical for use in my underarms and smaller patches. When using on my legs I almost felt that the blade couldn't reach my skin to fully shave the hair off The soap had a very pleasant scent, but it was very sticky like glue that took a little while to wash off The grip on the razor is very handy, quite bulky which makes it simple to handle and easy to use it trickier spots (behind legs etc.) I don't think this is the razor for me, and when the soap washes of I don't think I will repurchase. I feel there where a number of positives and I loved the concept, but it didn't do the job for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Petal from Not for me I'm sorry Schick, but I could not get the Hydro Silk Razor to work for me, unlike almost everyone else on beautyheaven. I never saw the moisturising serum appear. Also, I did not feel like the blade was doing a good job in removing the hair. I've had far better results when I've used cheap disposable razors. Perhaps I did something wrong. When I used this razor on my lower legs, even though I wasn't pressing too hard on my skin, my legs became scattered with small cuts, and one leg was sore as a result. On my underarms, I found it hard to move the razor around, but it did remove about three-quarters of the hair without any cuts. I tried using this razor with/without shaving cream, and inside/outside the shower. I still couldn't get a great result.
