General Information

Azclear Action Medicated Lotion contains 20% Azelaic Acid and is an oil free, invisible anti-bacterial lotion for the treatment of blackheads, pimples, acne & rosacea.

Azclear Action Medicated Lotion is an acne treatment that contains 20% w/w Azelaic Acid. This dual action formula attacks pimples by fighting bacteria and unblocking the oil ducts, which acts to reduce redness and dry up pimples. Treats mild to moderate acne.

Warnings

For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of reach of children. Initial mild irritation may occur. If severe irritation occurs discontinue use. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hidden gem Azelaic acid is not very common in products compared to other acids like glycolic or lactic acid but by no means no where near as effective. Azclear can help with acne, pigmentation and Roseaca. I myself use it for acne and pigmentation and it has shown a difference and my husband uses it for redness and again has shown a difference to him too. It can feel a little drying on the skin so I like to apply it after any water based serums and then use a moisturizer on top (It can ball on the skin at times). It is readily available at chemists and a really good price.

The pimples are not really big, but we obviously want to minimise their appearance. This lotion is alright, it definitely helps to get rid of the pimples faster, but I can't say it's a miracle solution. It is applied on the pimples on clean skin right after shower. The lotion comes in a squeeze soft tube, it is easy to use and to dispense only a small quantity because it's all that's needed. A little goes a long way in this case.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Affordable option Azelaic Acid is an ingredient I've incorporated into my routine to combat my hyperpigmentation. It has the highest percentage of Azelaic Acid I've found for an OTC product and is certainly affordable. The formulation is smooth when applied but tends to pill over time so I only use it at night under a moisturiser. In terms of pigmentation, it won't result in any major changes but is just one of the Tyrosinase Inhibitors I use each day for stubborn pigmentation. I won't be using this one long term as I feel there are other more elegant formulations out there with a lower percentage.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nothing special I have hyperpigmentation as a result of my hormonal acne, and I have been using this product for a couple of months now, but have not noticed a significant improvement in my hyperpigmentation or active acne. With that being said, I also did not experience any sensitivity or reaction to the product. The lotion also pills a little, so it's probably best to put it on as the last step in your skincare routine. I know this product works amazingly for some people, but unfortunately it did not live up to the hype for me. Now, I'm using the Finacea brand of azelaic acid, and I like that one much better than Azclear.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works but slow Was looking for an alternative to benzoyl peroxide and this is good. Doesn't work as quickly but it does help reduce pustules and inflammation. Is also very gentle and I like the lotion texture even though it dries with a glue like consistency that pills off.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Didn't notice a difference for acne I used this product in place of benzoyl peroxide in my skin care routine for about 2 months but I didn't notice a difference in my skin between using this and using nothing. I've read online that azelic acid is more effective in a serum form. This product also had a tendency to peel during application, so I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who wears makeup every day. I applied this over my moisturizer as the last step of my skin care routine to prevent it from peeling when other products go on top.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very drying I wanted to try this product as I have acne on my cheeks and chin and everyone has been raving about it, I don't know if it's just me that had problems with it but here are my problems. The product does not sit well under makeup, It pills, dried my skin out lots and made my skin very red. My skin was very, very flaky and sore about a week after using this cream (and I normally have oily skin) but I continued to use this once a day hoping it was just going to dry the pimples out but I saw little to no improvement. I feel like this would be okay to use once a week on a certain spot but it didn't work for me :(
