Tabu by Dana Eau De Cologne Spray 1.5 Oz is a Women's Perfume
- Launched by the design house of Dana in 1932, TABU by Dana is
classified as a flowery fragrance.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Timeless Classic of Oriental Beauty I can remember Tabu from the 70s when I was in my teens. It was a knock-you-dead-at-10-paces bomb in the days before watered-down reformulations when women were feminine and weren’t afraid to make a statement. The bottles then were black glass and funnel-shaped with a cylindrical gold top and its potency was legendary and the dry-down heavenly. This one differs from the picture in that while it’s a rectangular bottle the script is gold instead of black and it has the woman’s face logo pictured in gold. It’s made in India and the colour of the juice is deep amber, which excited me when I opened it as it made me hope it was still as potent as Tabu of yesteryear. While it’s not the same beast I was surprised that this reformulation still packs a punch and it seems better than another one I tested in Terry White’s which was very lightweight. It still projects well and the longevity is still several hours (my skin makes most perfumes disappear in no time). There are many different bottles of Tabu now and from reviews they seem to smell a little different. A reviewer on Fragrantica collects them and in his opinion the violin-shaped one and the twisty cylindrical bottle rate best. I think this one is a keeper too. While I’m grateful Tabu can still be found at Chemist Warehouse I really do wish they would listen to people’s wishes and get some bottles in-store. Just a few days ago I heard a lady asking for it to be given the usual ‘no, we don’t have that’. Well, why not when it gets rave reviews and it’s what women want? No matter how I love Chemist Warehouse it’s still a corporate game of eliminating the competition then when big enough you don’t have to pay attention to people’s requests. This fragrance is an absolute stunner and work of art and for the price – and do not equate it’s cheapness with cheap quality – it’s classy and quite amazing. I love it and will always continue to buy it as long as they’re still making it.

I always get compliments on how good I smell....( not after curry night though !! ) I attribute these compliments to Tabu...everyone seems to love sniffing me when I wear this gorgeous scent. If you want strangers taking notice of you...I highly recommend Tabu.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incense I sprayed it on a woolen scarf. It is warm, deep cherry that settles quickly into woods. Even lacquered timber-maybe cherry timber, who knows. Incense, sandal, overall it ie winter dark evening, a bit sad and elevated feeling. Reminds me of church and solitude.

I have only brought it here a few times because it is always sold out. I will always keep buying this perfume because it will always be my favorite as I have tried many others & I just love this the best. I have had both men & women stop me & ask me what perfume I am wearing because it smells so good on me & they always say that to me (which makes me feel very special). I’ve paid hundreds on expensive perfumes and always revert back to Tabu. Sometimes very difficult to get so when Chemist warehouse gets it in I stock up as I hate to run out.
