Rated 3 out of 5 by maggieball from High quality moisturising for dry skin I'm very conflicted about the QV face range. There's so much I like about it. QV is an Australian company started by a chemist and is very gentle on the skin. The packaging is lovely and simple - a nice glass jar with silver lid, and although it's a super thick very white cream, it's almost uniquely matte when it's applied leaving the skin very soft and well-moisturised but not at all greasy - it melts in very quickly. It's unscented (though there is a faint whiff of paraffin - like a candle - which isn't unpleasant), and contains some nourishing ingredients like safflower oil. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now every night and my dry-tending sensitive skin is hydrated and not irritated- eg no breakouts which I often get when I try new products. Also it's reasonably priced as the thickness of this means a little goes a long way. However, I am very uncomfortable with the ingredients. For one thing it has several kinds of parabens in it, which I try to avoid (I note that their UK version doesn't contain these) and to my mind worse, several petroleum-based ingredients as well as silicon. The product does seem to work very well, and I would rebuy in a flash but I'm reluctant to put this on my skin on the regular. I'm sure their petroleum is purified and probably safe to use - they are chemists after all, but I still don't like it in my skincare for a range of reasons which I won't list here but which can be very easily looked up - there have been plenty of studies about the possible long term implications of using these ingredients on your skin. That said, if you aren't worried about the ingredients, this cream does work very well in moisturising skin and is a high quality night cream.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Tigerlily from Good basic night cream I received a deluxe sample of the QV night cream. The cream is white and very thick in consistency. As it was quite thick, I only needed a little bit each night. I have dry skin and found this effective for providing added moisturisation over night. I didn't find it overly greasy and my skin very soft and moisturised the next day. It feels like an effective basic moisturiser and is fragrance free so good for sensitive skin.

As a whole, I love QV's products which is the reason that I decided to purchase this night cream in order to complete my skin care regime. This product formula is very thick - you literally have to use the tiniest amount to ensure that you don't wake up with greasy skin and subsequent break outs. Whilst this is cost effective, for my combination skin I feel that this product isn't the best for oily areas. Despite this, however, I will continue to use this product as it does make your skin feel extremely soft in the morning and limits irritation.

It did a good job at moisturizing, but for my slightly oily and break out prone skin I found it to be too heavy and a bit greasy. I imagine this would work much better for maturer, dryer skin types, but it just wasn't for me.

In the morning my skin feels oily, and I have since had a pimple breakout on my neck. I'm disappointed that this isn't suitable for me, as it is a great price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by lynx from Feeling of heavyness on the skin Thankyou beautyheaven for allowing me to trial this night cream. The product comes in a classy 50gram jar with a silver lid and looks a bit special. I quite like that the product comes with a tamper proof seal to ensure the product is kept safe. The product inside is a rather thick fragrance free cream. I have been applying nightly before bed and after cleansing my skin. I have not had any bad skin reactions to it and it does feel quite gentle although I do find I can really notice it's presence of feeling heavy on my skin. It feels like it is more of a barrier cream as it doesn't really feel like it penetrates my skin but instead sits on the surface. The surface of my skin remains shiny and greasy looking with it on. My pillow case needs a wash regularly when wearing as the greasyness of the cream transfers some residue. I haven't noticed change in hydration levels within my skin from using this product. I wouldn't purchase for my skin as I don't think it provides my skin with a substantial amount of nourishment.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Peach perfect from Nurturing may be but not hydrating Usually QV packaging is pretty simple and conveys the simplicity of products but with this night cream comes packed in a slightly manner - a chunky little jar with shiny lid which feels more like most main stream chemist shop products. Apart from being fragrance free and not finding any harsh chemicals on ingredient list, the product itself also turned out to be as disappointing as the packaging. My impression has been that most QV products are very suitable for dry skin. This one however might be appropriate for someone with oily skin and no hydration issues. Mine is oily but dehydrated skin. This cream felt good on application and absorbed easily but right after initial few minutes, my skin was feeling dehydrated again. Also I expect my night cream to be bit more rich - moisturising while this was very light in terms of moisturising factor as well. May be if you like to create lots of layers with oil, toner, serum etc. this would work well being light and not loaded with active ingredients. But if that's the case, what are you really adding that layer for?

Rated 2 out of 5 by skincare junkie from QV Face Nurturing Night Cream | Thick and greasy I usually enjoy QV products but this night cream is a fail for me. I have normal skin which has turned more like combination recently due to medication. While I might not be the target audience of this night cream as I do not have dry and sensitive skin, I do enjoy a nice think night cream and I have used others without any problem (e.g. Antipodies Avocado Pear, and Rubifresh collagen cream). My biggest issue with this cream is that it tends to sit on the surface of my skin without being absorbed, whereas other creams I have used even though they are thick, they do get absorbed and I wake up the next day with soft and nourished skin. The QV cream just leaves a layer of grease in the next morning, which I don't like. It does not have any smell at all.

Due to the thickness of the cream I tried using only a small amount thinking I was just using too much, but no I still had the same greasy feeling. Luckily it was only a small traveller size and not a full-size tub. I won't be purchasing this one again.

I felt it sooth my face after cleansing but that hydrated feeling did not last to long and an hour or so later my face felt dry.Over the weeks of using it I felt my face feel looser the skin felt saggy. So although the price a lot less than a lot of creams I think in this case you get what you pay for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mon72 from QV Face Nurturing Night Cream - too thick I received this product in the mail for testing which i was quite excited about. Im always happy to try a new face cream! The jar is nice and looks a bit more fancy than the other QV products packaging. I really only used it once and to be honest - I wouldn't use it again. Its is very thick so only used a bit and I'm glad that I did. I'm not fussed on the smell when you first put it on but thankfully after a bit that disappeared. Unfortunately for the whole night the cream was very greasy and i could feel it on my face the whole time. It never felt like it soaked in at all. It just felt so oily and greasy and even if I touched my face you could see the oil on my fingertips. Unfortunatey due to this I wont even be bothered to keep trying to get a result. was more like a lanolin.
