NIVEA SUN After Sun Moisture Lotion has been formulated to be non-greasy and provide soothing relief from the discomfort caused by sunburn. The caring formula, made with Aloe Vera and Hyaluron, provides you with 48 hour moisture and helps to restore the skin's moisture loss after sunburn. The lotion cools and soothes the skin after sun exposure and instantly relieves the uncomfortable signs of sun-stressed skin. Its non-sticky formula absorbs quickly and helps to avoid peeling or flaking whilst also providing protection against premature aging caused by free radicals. The skin compatibility of this lotion has been dermatologically approved.

It smells like men’s aftershave. It’s quite strong and I don’t really like it. The scent lingers on your body for quite a while so I was reluctant to use it again. However, it is very moisturising and feels good on the skin especially after spending the day out in the sun! I gave it to my husband and even he said the scent was quite strong. He’ll still continue to use it though so it’s not going to waste!

When I returned home, I wasn’t sunburned, but my neck felt hot. I put a little bit of lotion on the back of my neck. I loved the instant cooling sensation, but it didn’t last. So I’d say you have to keep reapplying it, especially if you’ve been burnt. The lingering fragrance was also quite strong and a bit masculine.

However, in saying that, this product is amazing for instant relief! It takes the sting out of it instantly! And it applies nicely and can be layered on the skin. So I would say this product works great for a mild sunburn. But if your a lobster in colour, I would suggest using something else. As this does the job for a mild burn and really helps with the sting. But for someone really burnt it isn’t going to help as much as other products like straight aloe Vera gel in healing the burn.
