Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gentle moisturiser for very dry, irritated skin This is a thick moisturiser that is very gentle and doesn't have any irritating ingredients or fragrance. It comes in generous sizes up to 1L and can be used on both the face and body. It is sometimes recommended by dermatologists for sensitive, irritated skin. It is quite heavy would suit dry to very dry skin better and is great for the times when you are suffering from dry, flaky or itchy skin or when your skin barrier is disrupted. It's not suitable if your skin leans towards the oily spectrum. It's better for night time, as it's not something that can be layered easily under make-up, especially since you'd need another sun protection product as it doesn't contain SPF. As a facial moisturiser it doesn't really have any useful active ingredients, when other brands such as QV and Cerave have ceramides and niacinamide etc, I feel that Cetaphil is falling behind and I would recommend other brands in preference to this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Basic body lotion Have used this lotion after trying and using up baby version (that I love, minus the soapy scent). But it does not stand up to that one. This one is thicker in formulation and white. Feels a bit coaty on the skin and does not soften my skin as well as Cetaphil baby lotion. Some use this as a face lotion too, I would not ever....it is only for body and even there does not really hydrate. After using most of the bottle have noticed that it just is an extra step, but nothing more. Could easy not apply and have same skin result. It is basically water with processed chemical emollients. Some small amount of macadamia oil and vitE added. At the end B5 too. WIll go back to my other lotion or baby version. This one does nothing good for the skin. But nothing bad either. Ingredient list: Purified Water, Glycerol, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Cetostearyl Alcohol (and) Ceteareth-20, Macadamia Nut Oil, Dimethicone, Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate, Stearoxytrimethylsilane (and) Stearyl Alcohol, Panthenol, Farnesol, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Hydroxide, Citric Acid.

Based off the ingredients, I don't think it's really benefiting my skin at all. I find it sits on top of my combination skin and doesn't really sink in. THAT SAID... when I recently had an allergic reaction to actives in my other skincare, and my skin couldn't handle anything, having this in the cupboard was a lifesaver. I knew I could put on this moisturiser without flaring up or irritating my skin further. My husband has inflammatory eczema and this is all he can use safely.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from an alright product I bought one of the giant pump bottles of this moisturiser during a sale, years ago and still haven't finished it.<br />When I first purchased it my skin was doing fine and this moisturiser didn't irritate my face or body. My skin has since gotten worse for unrelated reasons and I have stopped using this product on my face, but as a body moisturiser I still really enjoy it.<br />I have never had any issues with it, but it doesn't provide the deep moisturising that my dry skin needs, and as a result, I will not be repurchasing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Takes a While to Absorb I actually bought this for my daughter who has sensitive skin but I thought I'd try it myself to see how well it moisturised (as I also suffer from sensitive skin at times). It is a medium thickness cream that has no discernible scent to me. The one thing I didn't like about it is that it takes forever to absorb. It sits like a layer on the skin and you really have to rub and rub before it sinks in. It is gentle on the skin and does make skin soft. The hydrating effect lasts all day too. So all in all it's not a bad moisturiser but not my fave.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nothing special... I decided to try a small bottle of this to see how it compared to my QV moisturising cream as it was more affordable. I used it as an all over body moisturiser. It was a thin lotion consistency but quite heavy when applied to the skin. I found that it took quite a while for the moisturiser to sink into my skin and I didn't like the greasy feeling it left on my skin. This is ok for Winter when my skin is drier, but I think it would be quite uncomfortable in Summer. It doesn't have a strange smell like some fragrance free moisturisers do. It's pretty much scent-less. Which is definitely a bonus for my sensitive skin. I don't think I will be buying this again. It is a good moisturiser, however I feel that I get slightly better results using the QV moisturiser.

It was a god send when I suffered from acne as it did not cause my skin to break out and it didn't irritate my existing break outs. I still use Cetaphil in the morning but at night I use a more hydrating moisturiser otherwise I find that my skin gets too dry.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Alright, but can feel greasy I used this with the Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser for a time, and I find that even after applying minimal amounts, it makes my skin feel overly oily and causes my hair to stick to my skin etc. I have combination skin (normal/oily), so I need a very lightweight moisturiser, and I fear that this product is not good for that purpose. The only reason I'm giving it three stars is because whenever parts of my skin flake/becomes too dried out (due to use of harsh products - acne treatment such as salicylic acid), this moisturiser does a good job at restoring moisture for those spots.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not too good. I bought this to use to moisturize my face, as it tends to get a little dry and flakeey.<br />But once i used it on my face, it was very greasy and it didn't suit my skin type very well.<br />You could use this on your body, but on the face its not pleasant.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from does the job....But i use it on my body not my face I have used this lotion for while now and for me i think its pretty good. It does get in and it does hydrate my skin. I use if after i shower and i like to have it when i go to the beach; as after being in the salt water i found that no matter how much water you use at the beach you need something that hydrates well. And for me it does. And its not expensive.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for me My skin is more on the oilier side and this moisturiser was a tad too greasy for me:( my sister on the other hand has more dry skin and this hydrated and firmed up her skin, this moisturiser is perfect for sensitive skin which both my sister and i have and we didnt experience any reaction and it is perfect for dry patches on your face and body.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very oily I used this product a while ago in conjunction with the gentle cleanser after seeing great reviews on it. I personally did not like this moisturiser at all. I have combo skin, leaning towards the drier side, and I found that this moisturiser made me so oily! I purchased it in hopes that it would help clear my skin, however it only made it worse. It may work better for someone with dry, non-blemish-prone skin, but for me it just didn't work.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Since I loved the gentle cleanser I brought this aswell... It feels good but makes my skin look shiny after awhile...it doesnt seem to soak in so I using it on my body instead and even then it doesnt seem to hydrate me that well (i have very dry skin on my legs :S)

So wish I had known this was happening would of bought numerous bottles of the original formula - now will have to find another product to use. Very disappointing Cetaphil

Rated 1 out of 5 by from no i really dont like this<br />i tried this for my face and it made it produce so much oil<br />it is somewhat thicker than what i would have wanted<br />i dont like the packaging as it's quite tacky in my eyes and could be improved<br />no smell to it really<br />decent price point<br />i have oily/acne prone skin and this really did not help<br />i would not recommend it and would not repurchase<br />but this might not be the case for everyone
