At first when I tried Colgate charcoal optic white it had a very strong taste. Like a dentist product. I wasn't keen but I kept trying. That taste has definitely dampen down as I've gotten used to it and now it is almost enjoyable as it makes me feel like my mouth is really clean. I have noticed a slight improvement of the colour of my teeth and believe it should get better the longer I use it.

There’s a mild mint smell, and some foam when brushing. What I like about this toothpaste is that it contains fluoride meaning it can remineralize teeth by reversing small cavities and protect them from future acid attacks.

The blend of charcoal and fluoride left my teeth feeling lovely, clean and noticeably brighter! The clean mint flavour added an extra burst of freshness. The texture was gritty, giving a gentle exfoliation without being harsh. The grey colour isn't too off putting either, I expected it to be black. But overall I did see a difference from use.

It has I think a menthol smell, brings me back to my childhood but can’t quite put my finger on what it is. I would recommend it though and will be buying it again.

My teeth were kept clean and white after I had my teeth cleaned at the dentist. After blushing, I feel fresh and the flavour of the toothpaste is neutral, which I liked.

The taste is nice and refreshing, and lasts a good while after brushing. I feel like it does a good job of removing surface stains however they soon return once you have coffee etc, so it’s not a particularly long lasting solution.

I've heard alot of positive reviews with using charcoal to whiten teeth so I was excited to give this a go. Upon brushing my teeth the lather was the normal white toothpaste colour rather than black from the charcoal like I thought would happen. So glad it isn't a messy bathroom experience! 7 days later after completing the challenge, my teeth and gums felt healthy and clean however, the colouration of my teeth didn't significantly change. If it did, it's very minor and barely noticeable. Overall I still think it's a great toothpaste but if you're after immediate teeth whitening appearance, buy a proper teeth whitening kit or go to a dentist!
