1. What is a hair cuticle?
The hair cuticle is the outermost part of the hair shaft. It's comprised of overlapping cells that resemble fish scales. It's there to protect the inner layers of your hair (like the follicle) from damage and provides shine.

2. What are the benefits of hair gloss?
Shine is the ultimate sign of hair health. When hair is damaged, the cuticles lift and become misaligned. The surface becomes rough and porous, with a Limited ability to reflect the light. As a result, hair has a dull, lifeless appearance. By contrast, healthy hair has a smooth surface with seamlessly sealed cuticles that reflect light and give it radiant shine.

3. Why Glycolic Acid for hair?
Now proven for your hair, glycolic acid brings a double glossing action that firstly, restores the hair fibre from the inside to improve its quality, and secondly, seals the hair with a lasting shiny glaze.

4. How do I use the Glycolic Gloss range?
Our at home glossing service can be incorporated daily into your hair routine, or between washes for a gloss that lasts through 10 shampoos*. Begin with our Shampoo and Conditioner. Follow this with our 5 Minute Lamination Rinse-Off, and finally coat with our Leave-in Serum.

*instrumental test after application of the shampoo, conditioner and lamination treatment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My hair was left shiny after using the product however the texture of my hair felt course and after styling had a large amount of flyaways. The smell of the product was not as nice as the remainder of the treatment process and reminded me of a fake chocolate smell. Having said all that the following days after using the product my hair felt really soft, clean and shiny.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Need an hydration mask to complement [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] "I love the scent of this hair mask; it's really nice. But, it dries my curls out, which isn't great for my hair type. On the plus side, it leaves my hair looking glossy and bright."

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Smells better than the others [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Trialled all of this product range. This product smell was the best one. Left my hair feeling heavy though. No change in shininess or the glitter wasn't noticeable. Felt the glitter was probably the supposed to the shiny part.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from L'Oréal Elvive Glycolic Gloss Serum [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Serum bottle is so pretty and smells fantastic. The appearance of glitter in the Serum is a bit off-putting though as I don't really want sparkly hair in my 30s. I think it made my hair slightly more silky but I think I need something with more moisture as my hair is still very dry.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from L'Oreal Glycolic Gloss Leave-In Serum [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The L'Oreal Glycolic Gloss Leave-In Serum was a little disappointing. I loved how it looked and smelt- the pink glitter was a lovely surprise and matched the scent perfectly. I did not seem to find any substantial difference in my hairs condition or shininess with the leave in alone. in conjunction with the rest of the line, I found my hair was slightly more shiny. the product was somewhat difficult to apply in comparison to the other products in the Glycolic Gloss line and did leave my hair a little weighed down, which I found incredibly surprising, as I have never had an issue with products weighing down my hair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for me [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the added glitter! It smells nice but it seemed to make my hair oily.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has a great smell but a runny consistency. After using, my hair looked shiny and felt nice but made my hair feel a bit heavy. The bottle says two pumps but im going to try again with one pump to see if it makes any difference. It does have glitter in it so if you arent going for that look i wouldnt recommend. Other than making my hair look shiny, it didnt make any difference to my hairs condition overall but i am going to continue to use it to see if it just takes more time to work better. Other than that i would reccomend if you are just looking for a serum to make your hair look good but there are better serums for way cheaper that work alot better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'd say my experience with the L'Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss Leave-in Serum was a bit of a mixed bag. On the positive side, I appreciated its pleasant scent and the subtle pearlescent effect it left on my hair, adding a touch of glossiness that I found quite appealing. However, I couldn't ignore the fact that it seemed to weigh my hair down, giving it a somewhat limp and clumpy feel at times, which wasn't exactly the look I was going for. Despite having short hair and using just a small amount of the product as recommended, I still felt like it flattened my hair more than I would have liked. In terms of application, the pump dispenser made it convenient to use, although like others, I found it a bit challenging to control the amount of product dispensed, leading to either too little or too much being applied. Additionally, the presence of glitter in the serum, while not a deal-breaker for me, felt unnecessary and added to the mixed texture experience.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's alright? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think out of the whole 4-step process, this is probably the one that I could do without. Pros are that it smells good and it leaves a pretty little pearlescent effect on my hair adding to the glossiness. Cons are that it weighed my hair down. It felt like I had hair gel on and at times it made my hair a bit clumpy. I have short hair so I didnt need to use much (one pump was enough) but it made my hair so flat. Might be a product that would be better used if you had longer hair but for me, I think it's a pass.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Greasy [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you for the opportunity to trial the L'Oréal Paris Elvive Gloss leave in serum. The product comes in stylish and pretty packaging which looks great in my bathroom. I didn't like how much glitter this contained. I also felt it was quite runny and not a pleasant consistency. It smelt beautiful and my hair looked a bit shinier. However I feel my hair was left greasy afterwards. It really put me off using it again as I didn't like the feeling. I would not recommend this product. I felt after using the conditioner I had good results and felt this step was unnecessary.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I’m glad i gave it a try [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using all four products and having a good experience over all I was excited for the shimmer aspect of the serum I loved this bottle ! It was easy to use product smelled great . I felt like although the other products were great for my long wavy hair this one I felt like I could have used more of it ! So didn’t go as fair as the other products I noticed a shimmer but nothing that I was amazed about . I also like the other products noticed it wear off a day after use. I enjoyed the overall experience of using this entire range and I will probably use the shampoo and conditioner again but for someone who works long outs and my routine is quite quick in the mornings the additional two products draw out my getting ready routine in the morning which I like to keep short and simple

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hit or miss [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Using this product involved a lot of trial and error for me. I tried applying the recommended amount on the bottle 'two drops' but it evaporated by the time I'd rubbed it between by palms and was ready to apply it to my hair. I then tried two pumps and whilst I was able to apply it to my hair, it left it looking oily and a bit limp rather than the desired glossy and shiny effect. The third time, I tried one pump and this finally seemed to be the right amount. Upon application, I didn't really notice any extra shine in my hair, but it did a good job at taming any loose strands. Whilst I applaud the environmentally friendly production process (bottle is recycled material, factory uses renewable energy, no animal testing etc) I think that for the hefty price and compared to what is currently available on the market, it could be a better and easier to use product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for dry ends [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The leave in serum was my favourite of all the products. I used it whenever I needed (not just when I shampoo and conditioned my hair) to get rid of frizz, used on my dry ends and to make my hair more shiny. This product definitely works, I find you need more product than it says to use on the instructions as it is quite thick. Also recommend brushing through the product to get best results. But the product did make my hair shinier, my ends didnt look as dry as usual when used. It can make your hair appear really oily, so i recommend using it more on your ends than on your roots to avoid this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A decent serum that adds shine [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been trialling this entire range for a few weeks and have enjoyed it. This serum in particular was quite lovely, however if you used too much it quickly made hair weighed down and limp. Once I worked out the correct amount for my hair it worked well. My hair was shiny and soft and frizz was at a minimum. The fragrance was beautiful and it lingered in my hair for hours. I didn’t like the glitter in the serum, I found this unnecessary and kind of gimmicky. My hands would be covered in glitter afterwards. Overall a nice serum that added shine and hydration

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Subtle Shine [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After incorporating the Glycolic Gloss Leave-In Serum into my haircare routine, I must admit that its effects were a bit subtle for me. I couldn't distinctly attribute the softness it provided to the serum alone, as the shampoo and conditioner also played a significant role. Skipping the serum for one wash didn't result in a noticeable difference, except for making brushing slightly easier. However, I did appreciate the smoothness it imparted to my hair. While the serum did enhance the shine of my hair slightly, it wasn't significant. One positive aspect of the serum is that only a small amount is needed, and it doesn't leave hair feeling oily or greasy, even when applied beyond just the ends. However, overall, I felt that the serum didn't stand out much, especially compared to the main work done by the shampoo and conditioner. It's a decent product, but I wouldn't consider it a necessity in my haircare routine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good smell [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this serum, which was slightly pink and quite glittery, with the glitter remaining on my hands. It had a strong smell that I liked. I used it most days as a leave-in product when doing my hair. Although the instructions said to use two drops, I found I needed a lot more. It felt okay in my hair, although it was hard to spread evenly. It left my hair smelling good and feeling a little smoother. However, I believe there are better hair oil serums available for cheaper. For this reason, I wouldn't recommend or buy it again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay leave-in serum.. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hadn't heard of glycolic hair care previously and I thought this range was a cool idea, so I was excited to be a part of the trial. After using the entire range for a few weeks I was fairly impressed with the results. The entire range has a pleasant smell which isn't overbearing. This leave-in serum applies easily and has a subtle shimmery effect on the hair, which does leave the hair looking shinier. I found I needed to use more than the directions suggested, but there was a fine line between enough for my hair and too much. I enjoyed using the entire range, but this product was probably my least favourite and a probably wouldn't repurchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay product but not amazing [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Glycolic Gloss leave-in serum is a shiny pink serum with glitter that comes in a pump bottle. I use two drops of the serum on damp hair immediately after showering and found that it absorbs into the hair pretty well and leaves my hair feeling less frizzy. Other times I’ve trialed this serum on damp hair that is less wet and have found that it sticks to the surface of my hair and seems to coat it with some shine rather than actually permeate my hair for deeper hydration. I would say that this product is okay, not bad but not particularly amazing. I’ll continue to use the product but unsure if I would purchase after I finish my current bottle

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok serum [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The L'Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss Leave-in Serum features subtle glitter in a cloudy pink base and has the same mellow floral tropical scent as the other products in the range. While the glitter is noticeable in the bottle and on the hand after application, it appears subtle on the hair, providing an immediate glossy and shiny boost. The serum distributes easily through wet hair, and only 2-3 pumps are needed, so a little goes a long way to avoid weighing down the hair. However, this is the product I am least likely to repurchase from the set of four in this range, as the shampoo, conditioner, and lamination already provided sufficient results.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overpowering smell [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The L’Oreal Glycolic Gloss Leave-In Serum has some great qualities but overall, I would give it an average rating. It adds an extra layer of smoothness and shine, making my hair look healthy and polished. The lightweight formula doesn’t weigh my hair down, which is a big plus. However, the fragrance is way too strong and overpowering for my taste. It lingers throughout the day and can be quite overwhelming. While the product does provide long-lasting smoothness and protection, I find the scent to be a significant drawback. If you’re sensitive to strong fragrances, this might not be the best choice for you. Despite its effectiveness in making hair sleek and manageable, the overpowering smell detracts from the overall experience. I believe there are other leave-in serums out there that can offer similar benefits without the intense fragrance.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A nice addition to hair care [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought the glycolic gloss leave in treatment was a good product. I massaged and brushed the product into the mid lengths and ends of my freshly washed and dried hair. My hair did look shinier and glossier but for softness and silkiness, I found more benefit out of the lamination treatment. The product did smell great and I really appreciated that it was a pump bottle. I will definitely keep this product on hand when I want my hair to look extra shiny, or windy winter days to keep the frizz at bay

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Glittery [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently used L'Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss Leave-in Serum, and it’s impressive. The sleek bottle is convenient, and the subtle scent is pleasant. This lightweight serum is glittery, with glycolic acid, smooths the hair cuticle, reduces frizz, and adds shine. My hair feels softer and more manageable without any greasy residue. Ideal for quick touch-ups or daily use, it's a good mid-range choice for enhancing hair health and appearance quickly. Would recommend, although maybe better options available at this price point.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Caution- glitter and nice smelling hair alert [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried the entire range of these four products together. Each product has a light, pleasant fragrance and a lovely pink, sparkly color. They are all well-packaged with an expensive look and feel. You only need a small amount of shampoo as it lathers well. I then used the conditioner on the ends of my hair and a small amount on my scalp, leaving it for a couple of minutes (not quite the recommended three minutes). I followed this with a five-minute application of the Gloss Rinse Off Treatment. After using it, my hair was very easy to comb through, with no tangles! I applied the Leave-In Serum, using only a small amount since my hair tends to get flat and greasy if I use too much. After drying, my hair felt lovely and had a beautiful shine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not sure. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a bit iffy about this product. I am not sure if it does anything but i like how it smells. Subtle but it helps keep my hair smell fresh all day. It has a little glitter and i am not sure if i like that. First time to use a product like this glycolic gloss leave in serum. I am still trying to use it more and see if it helps more but so far i can easily not include it in my hair care routine and still have decent hair with only the shmapoo, conditioner and the gloss. I would still recommend others to try as it may work for them even if i am unsure if it works for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not suitable for my hair type [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product to trial along with the shampoo, conditioner and glossing treatment and unfortunately didn't enjoy this product as much as the others. While overall the range delivered the desired shine and smoothness to my hair, I found it very difficult to work out how much to use to obtain the desired effect without weighing down my hair. The label recommends two drops, however this often left my hair feeling heavy and greasy. I have medium thickness, straight hair and I think this was perhaps just not suited to my hair type. I wouldn't recommend this to others with a similar hair type to me, however this may be a good product for others who need more smoothing and shine after using the rest of the range.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lacking purpose but a pretty shimmer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited to try this amazing new Loreal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss range. Not only are the bottles super cute, but the formula is also pink and smells really nice. I wasn’t too sure what this product was meant to do given it’s a post-wash product and most of the smoothing action is done by the lamination treatment in the range. Despite this, the bottle is easy to use and dispenses the right amount (which is small but mighty - you’ll have this product for so long) & smells nice. I love the visible shimmer in the serum (as evident on my hands after smoothing the serum through my hair). It was easy to apply and didn’t make my hair oily which is always a concern for me with post-wash serums. However outside of the physical glitter it applies to the hair, this product had zero purpose as part of the hair routine. The product had no special benefits that the other products in the range didn’t already have, and serves no real purpose other than a shimmer serum for your hair - maybe good for festivals, not worth it for everyday.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good serum! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have natural black hair that is dull and wavy. I used the L’Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic gloss Leave-in serum as the last step in my hair care routine. I applied two drops off the Leave-in serum on wet hair through the lengths and ends evenly. Followed by blow drying on low heat. Not a fan of the glitter residue on the palms after applying. I noticed that my hair untangled quickly after application of the serum. After blow dry, my hair was smooth and shiny! Really love this product apart from the glitter residue on hands and would recommend!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from it is an okay product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have enjoyed trialling the shampoo, conditioner, laminating treatment and glossing serum as part of the reviewcrew. I found this to have the most pleasant scent in the range (a chemically sort of floral scent). It smells nicer than the other products in the range. It is a pale pink colour with flecks of what appears to be something pearlescent and shiny. The texture is that of a silky serum, non sticky or greasy in feel. I applied to wet hair and wrapped my hair in a towel for a bit then brush and air dry. For my hair (waist length, thick, wavy, dry/ damaged at lengths and ends) I need about 2-3 pumps of this to disperse through the lengths and ends. I can't say there has been a dramatic difference in terms of hair shine or smoothness, it does feel slightly soft once it is air dried but that is about it. I did enjoy using it but for me I would not purchase, I think this is bettee suited to hair that is already in a healthy condition.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Do you really need another product? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you're looking for a way to add some glamour and shine to your hair, you might want to try the L'Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss Leave-in Serum. This serum has a lovely soft pink color and a subtle shimmer that reflects the light. It also has a delightful tropical floral fragrance that makes your hair smell amazing. The serum is easy to apply; you just need to spray a few pumps on your damp hair and comb it through. The result is a glossy and smooth hair that looks healthy and radiant. However, you don't really need this serum if you already use the other products from the same Elvive Glycolic Gloss line, such as the shampoo, conditioner, and lamination. These products already provide enough nourishment and shine for your hair, so the serum might be an extra step that you can skip.
