1. What is a hair cuticle?
The hair cuticle is the outermost part of the hair shaft. It's comprised of overlapping cells that resemble fish scales. It's there to protect the inner layers of your hair (like the follicle) from damage and provides shine.

After using all the other products in the range, my long, bleached hair was already looking and feeling smoother than it usually does before I'd even applied it. This product went on nice and easily and a little definitely went a long way. With my hair being so dry, it suited me perfectly and the end result was definitely added shininess without a feeling of oiliness. The scent was also appealing, like others in the range. Overall, I am a big fan, feel it does offer good value for money and would definitely purchase it again.

The chunky looking glitter made it look a little gimmicky and I’m usually quite disappointed with leave-ins because my hair refuses to be tamed, but I do feel like it controlled my frizzy hair quite well and added a really lovely fragrance to my hair. I would say this didn’t add too much weight or stickiness either, it was a nice soft cast on my waves. I would say this pairs so well with the other products in the range and compliments them nicely.

It was easy to apply to my damp hair and brush through. I blow dried my hair and I loved the results! The glitter isn't that noticeable once your hair is dry but it does leave a nice finishing touch to your hair. My hair felt and looked amazing and I really enjoyed using this product. I found that while using the L'Oreal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss range my hair was shiny and bouncy and looked amazing. The products all paired together really nicely and is definitely worth purchasing.

The sparkly pinky pearly texture of the solution just gives girly pop vibes! So adorably and cute! The entire ranges packaging definitely suites the solution since all the products have similar sparkly textures, except the conditioner. The packaging gives 2000’s girly vibes. It’s pretty and cute! It’s not a large package so I don’t know if it’s worth the price tag. This is the smallest product in the range but you also don’t have to use a lot of it since it’s a leave-in and styling product. The 4 step process is long but the serum is the quickest step! I didn’t use much of the serum since I have short hair. It did not dry my curls our or leave an cakey/waxy residue. It left my hair so soft and I had a lot of compliments about it. I didn’t use my other hair products after using this as I wanted to see the full effects of the serum and I’m really surprised about the end result!

I love the pink packaging, the perfect shade and just very pretty to display. After shower leave in treatments are a must for my hair. This is definetly rich and adds that extra care dry hair needs. I do feel though for my hair I require something a little more thick like a creamy consistency. Love this nonetheless and will continue using it. It would be great if they have different types of leave in products in the range for different preferences and hair types.

At first sight, it looks shinny and glittery but once applied on/through my hair you can't see any glitter. I have used this both on damp hair and dry hair. I have long thick, wavy and frizzy hair so I was really excited to see how this leave-in serum would help keep my thick frizzy hair under control. I was pleased to see my hair less frizzy and looking shinny and healthy. I would recommend this leave-in serum to the ones who wants to have the smooth and shinny looking hair.

I am not a fan of the shimmer/glitter it leaves behind. I do however feel like my hair feels oily and weighed down quicker but nothing that reducing the amount of quantity can’t fix. This product has helped me lock in the shiny look and it makes my hair feel and look as soft as silk. The packaging of the product felt very lux and expensive. I would recommend to friends in the market for this particular product however it's not an absolute essential.

Its formula, infused with glycolic acid, worked to add shine and smoothness to my hair. I love that you can use it on both wet or dry hair! It’s made my hair feel smooth, manageable and vibrant; all whilst being light weight, non-sticky or oily (didn’t use it from the roots). The packaging is a pretty pink pump bottle; you can see all the shimmer in the serum and the pump makes the product easy to use. Only downfall (if any) is that all that gorgeous shimmer is left on your hands after use. Overall, it's a promising product for reviving and enhancing hair health and appearance.

I put this in as soon as I jump out of the shower but I use a lot more than what the bottle recommends. I have dry thin curly hair so I put alot in my frizzy ends and this gives an amazing shine without weighing my hair down. I recommend it to everyone I know. I wish it was cheaper but it lasts a long time so it's worth it if you have the money to splurge in these hard times. The whole range is great minus the conditioner.

Unlike the other products in the range I actually really liked the serum on its own and found it helped with fizz and shine. I have bleached thin frizzy hair. The smell of the serum is nice and the packaging feels high end. I will continue to use this product and have since been using it with my normal shampoo and conditioner and it is still working really well.

The Leave-in Serum is a fun pink colour with sparkles and has the nice scent of the rest of the range. It comes in a nice bottle made of recycled plastic and is a good size. The Leave-in Serum is very easy to apply and coats hair nicely. I would use this as a top-up in between washes as needed, but probably don't need a four-step routine for every wash. Overall, leaves hair feeling very soft and looking glossy.

As someone who loves a glitter product, I was excited about the added shine this serum promised, and I did notice a significant difference in my hair’s glossiness. Additionally, the serum effectively reduced flyaways throughout the day, which was a nice benefit. I also appreciated the environmentally friendly aspect of the product, especially the recycled bottle. However, despite these positives, I found that the serum weighed my hair down and made it feel less soft, clean and bouncy. While it has some good qualities, it might not be the best product for my hair type. Because of this, I probably wouldn’t repurchase it.

I have been using this daily once styling my hair and really enjoy the overall effect it has had. I did find that 1 and a bit pumps is enough without making my hair look too oily - I have naturally thick curly hair for reference. I find that this product makes my hair look and feel glossier and helps to tame any loose strands. Overall I would recommend this product

My hair has needed some extra TLC and shine. I was very happy to see that it is sulphate free and contains glycolic acid. Repairing the hair fibres and quality. It is such an affordable price and very convenient to purchase. The treatment seals the fibres helping with the smoothness up to 10 shampoos. Pink is my favourite colour, the colour is a shiny pink, with a beautiful fruity, floral scent. It is a very easy process to use, and I love pampering my hair. So far I am very happy with the results. My hair feels and looks revived, smooth and healthy!

Pearly pink and sweet in scent I pump 3-4 times and run this through my hair to the ends. It leaves my hair looking beautifully shiny and healthy. The serum works great on damp or dry hair and I have had lots of compliments on how nice my hair looks since using this and have been recommending it to my family and friends.

I used this on towel dried hair, I found that using 2 pumps weighs my hair down and it looks oily. The perfect amount for my hair is 1 pump. I normally skip the lamination when I use the serum and vice versa. The glitter looks evident in the bottle however once dispersed on my hair it gives a subtle beautiful shimmer. However, my hair felt oily after using all 4 products. I probably would not repurchase this product as I find that using the previous products were enough in achieving glossy silky hair.

While the glitter is noticeable in the bottle and on the hand after application, it appears subtle on the hair, providing an immediate glossy and shiny boost. The serum distributes easily through wet hair, and only 2-3 pumps are needed, so a little goes a long way to avoid weighing down the hair. However, this is the product I am least likely to repurchase from the set of four in this range, as the shampoo, conditioner, and lamination already provided sufficient results.

I’ve used this a few times now and I still can not get over how good it smells in my hair the amount of compliments I have received are amazing. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is quite a thick serum that really feels like it seals my hair and tames frizz and fly aways. Used with the shampoo, conditioner and gloss treatment, my hair feels so soft and less prone to tangles, and it is noticeably more shiny. This serum has very fine glitter that is super pretty, and unlike anything I’ve tried. It is on the heavier side, so should be used sparingly for those with fine hair, and only applied to the ends of the hair. My only con is that I wish it had heat protection in it!

When combining the shampoo, conditioner, lamination product, and serum I found my hair was noticeably softer and silky. It did however make my hair harder to style, as when I heat styled it, it dropped very quickly afterwards. I also don’t know if I would use the entire range together, and although each product was very effective on its own, it was very time consuming to use all four products in the range in one session. Nevertheless, it is an effective serum so I would recommend it to others who are looking for a serum that easy to use and apply, and one that doesn’t leave any unwanted residue.

I really like it so far love the sparkle/glitter as it makes your hair look more shinny!! This product smells amazing and makes your hair feel really hydrated. You do not need a lot of this product as a little goes a long way. As you don’t want to weigh the hair down and make it go oily faster. I use it on my ends and whatever is left just on my flyways. I would definitely repurchase after I finish the bottle. Good amount of product and very easy to use and apply. Definitely recommend as it’s also different with the sparkle inside!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The L'Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss Leave-in Serum has been a great alternative to my usual pricey leave in serums. As usual, this product smells gorgeous, as does the entire range. The product has a nice feel to it and is a lovely finishing step in my hair care routine. Taking 1 star off as I haven't seen an amazing transformation while using this, but in saying that, it does make my hair smell and feel lovely after use! It adds a lovely finish to this range when used altogether. I'm excited to see how my hair reacts to use after long term usage!

I tried the serum once with wet hair after my shower and then another time after I had blow dried and straightened my hair, (I have really curly hair) and the results were a lot nicer when I applied a bit to my ends when the hair was dry. The serum looks like it would have sparkly glitter in it, but you don't notice it once it's in your hair. A little goes a long way, so the bottle could last a long time. I like that the bottle is recyclable, I like that it is sulfate-free, and it states on the back that they don't test on animals - so a star for that. I would recommend this to friends that are looking for a serum product for some gloss and shine.

I used it in order with the shampoo, conditioner, laminate and then this leave in serum, I only needed a few drops as the bottle stated even though I have very long hair I find it went a long way, unlike some of the other serums I often use. I feel like this size bottle is perfect and will last a long time given I don't have to use much to get my desired look. Very nice feel also, not sticky or tacky and it absorbed really well into my towel dried hair. Will definetly continue to purchase this product! Visually appealing also! .
