1. What is a hair cuticle?
The hair cuticle is the outermost part of the hair shaft. It's comprised of overlapping cells that resemble fish scales. It's there to protect the inner layers of your hair (like the follicle) from damage and provides shine.

I love the pink packaging, the perfect shade and just very pretty to display. I like the scent of this shampoo, I love that it lathers up nicely - a must for me otherwise my hair doesn’t feel like it’s getting cleaned properly. My hair felt nice and clean after using this, it didn’t feel like it had been stripped dry. I obviously used this in combination with the rest of the ramge so can’t comment on how it makes my hair feel after showering as a standalone product. I loved it as part of the range though

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having recently semi-permanently dyed my hair, I was looking forward to using this product to see if it will add some shine to my hair. Using the shampoo, conditioner, serum and leave on made my hair smell sooooooo good. The shampoo by itself is great- it lathers up fairly easily even with just a small dollop. It leaves my scalp feeling clean and refreshed without feeling dry and rough after rinsing like some shampoos make me feel. It's better used with the other products but I've also tried spending a day having used JUST the shampoo and my hair feels wonderful and bouncy regardless

The shampoo has a nice scent which isn't too overbearing. It lathers well, and cleans the hair thoroughly when used for a double shampoo. The shampoo doesn't seem to overly strip the hair of natural oils etc. When using the entire range, my hair does look and feel nice. I would say that it is a little shinier than when using some other ranges, but I do find that my hair does get oily a little faster than usual.

The scent is wonderful across all the products and I did appreciate the aesthetic packaging. The glycolic gloss shampoo lathered really easily and did a good job at cleaning my hair. I have dry ends and I didn't find that it dried them out any further. There was also no thick residue on my hair upon drying either. I believe my hair has benefited from this shampoo and is much silkier and shinier than when using my previous grocery store shampoo. I have recommended to friends over the past few weeks, whenever I get complemented on how my hair is looking. I would prefer if the shampoo was in a bottle similar to the conditioner as it makes it easier to get the product out of the bottle

The product itself lathers easily and has a nice smell; you don't need to use much. I have medium-length hair and use a walnut-sized amount. The shampoo is easy to rinse out and effectively removes any buildup. Although the product size is on the smaller side, its ability to lather easily means you don’t need to use a lot. I would recommend this product if you’re travelling due to the size.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First time tonuse the L’Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss Shampoo ,it is an amazing shampoo. It is suitable for all hair types, I have bleached hair it helps to hydrate my dull hair, give the gloss my hair needs. I have split ends and my hair tend to brittle easy cause of the dryness but since using this shampoo I can see the differnce, there is improvment on my hair. Feels smooth, smells devine and my hair looks bouncy and alive.I have been struggling to find a shampoo that really works my bleached hair. This shampoo really works on my hair. Whenever I use this shampoo ,the fragrance on my hair lasts for days it looks like I have been to salon. It is a salon quality but in descent price.Nice formula and sulfate free.The packaging is nice, very handy to use, easy to apply.Foams well and 200 ml will last longer as my hair is not too thin , not too thick.The pink bottle giving you a sassy girl vibe .I would recommend this product to my family and friends.

I normally have very thin and dry hair, especially postpartum, but after using this shampoo for few weeks my hair got shine, soft, hydration and a healthy look. It cleaned my hair effectively and added a little bounce without creating any flyaway hairs. It makes my hair manageable and easy to style without product weight. It’s easy to apply and it smells amazing. The price is fair for the product value. I enjoyed using the entire product range together and would purchase again.

Not only are the bottles super cute, but the formula is also pink and smells really nice. The shampoo is easy to lather and leaves my hair feeling clean - I find a double shampoo suits my hair best to remove hair products and oiliness, and I was impressed that it left my hair feeling clean but not stripped so it was a lot easier to manage when wet. Overall I did feel like it made my hair smoother each time I used it, however I don’t feel like it had long term improvement to the smoothness of my hair as I only had these effects when I used at least 3 out of the 4 products in the range. On days where I didn’t use the lamination treatment, I saw no difference to how my hair normally feels and looks compared to my regular shampoo & conditioner. It’s a nice shampoo and as part of the Loreal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss range it performs well, however as a standalone shampoo I’m not sure it delivers what it promises.

The scent of this isn't my favourite but it's growing on me. Since using this for the last few weeks my hair feels a lot more glossy hair and smooth. This is definitely a good Sulfate-free shampoo and I will definitely continue to use it as my hair has never been this shiny. I wish the bottle was a bigger size but still happy to purchase this again.

My hair feels and looks glossier and healthier. This shampoo emulsifies really nicely so only a small amount of product is required. For context I have thick curly hair and find I only need a 10c size (even a little less). The shampoo has a pleasant smell but isn’t too overpowering. The packaging for this is also super cute and looks great on my vanity. Overall I would recommend this product as the rrp is very affordable and I can see myself purchasing this whole range again in the future.

Beautiful and sweet in scent and gorgeous pink pearl colour the shampoo foams, and cleans my hair well and after using in conjunction with the conditioner, lamination gloss and leave in serum leaving my hair feels clean, soft and shiny. The shampoo doesn’t leave my hair feeling stripped at all more so nourished. Once my hair is dried I’m really impressed with how shiny it is. I would buy this 4 step glossing system again and have already been recommending it to my friends and family. My only personal recommendation would be to make it in a bigger size as with the amount of hair I have this wouldn’t last me very long at all.

It is the first step out of their 4 product glycolic gloss range. It is a sulphate free shampoo that lathers well and cleanses the hair thoroughly. It rinses easily and leaves my hair feeling slightly soft and conditioned. The only thing is i have combination hair where my ends get dry and roots gets oily quite quickly so I needed to wash my hair more than I usually do but that does not bother me too much. The packaging of the shampoo is in a holographic bottle which gives it an aesthetic appearance and looks wonderful on the shelf. Overall the shampoo smells amazing, cleanses well and does not leave my hair dry. I would recommend this shampoo to others.

Possibly due to the product being sulfate free (which is a good thing!), I've noticed that the product doesn't lather up very well so it wouldn't last very long for me (especially as I have long hair). The shampoo itself is a similar pink hue with a pleasant mellow floral scent and hints of tropical mango, making it enjoyable to use. It lathers easily and cleanses hair without leaving it feeling stripped. However, after about five uses, I felt the need to use a clarifying shampoo to remove some minimal product buildup. As the first step in a suite of four products, it's hard to say if this shampoo alone was responsible for my hair's increased shine and gloss, but it certainly contributed. I enjoyed using it, and given its affordable price and sulfate-free formula, I would buy it again as part of the complete lineup.

I found that it did a good job in cleansing my hair. I have a long curly hair and I didn’t need to use too much product to get my hair clean. I found that using this in conjunction with the conditioner, laminate and leave in serum gave my hair a nice shine. I do have incredibly frizzy hair and using the entire system together really helped tame a lot of that frizz. My hair does look a bit dull at time so the shine I got from this product line was a definite bonus. Now as for the claim that the shine lasts 5-10 washes, I am not so sure about that, because as I said, my hair is more on the dull side and I didn’t find that my hair was still shiny unless I redid the process with all the products.

The shampoo itself has such a good scent that genuinely lasts for 2 days +, and the lather is so nice and bubble. Personally I have really oily hair, I did see an increase of shine and less dullness in general after use, however it does affect how oily my hair gets after a couple of days. I would definitely recommend to people with more dry hair, however if you are really looking to focus on decreasing the dullness of your hair and having a nice shine, this shampoo will really benefit you.

The fragrance of the Glycolic Gloss Shampoo is nice and not overpowering. The smell linger for a little while after use as well. My hair is free from bleach or colour and is fine and long. My scalp is normal to dry. I typically wash my hair one to two times a week with a double shampoo technique. The Glycolic Gloss Shampoo does not feel like a clarifying formula, after the first shampoo my hair did not feel clean enough to only wash once. After the second shampoo I felt like my scalp was clean without feeling stripped of the natural oils too much. I will use this shampoo in the future but will rotate with a more clarifying formula. I may purchase the shampoo in the future.

I like the consistency of the shampoo and found it was easy to disperse from the bottle. It was also easy to lather on my hair, and I found a little product went a long way. It also effectively cleaned my hair and didn’t leave any residue behind. The only thing I didn’t like about the product was the scent, which I thought smelt a bit ‘fake’. Sorry cant think of another way to describe it. I also thought the packaging looked a bit cheap. Nevertheless I did like the shampoo and would recommend it to others who don’t mind the scent, as it did effectively clean my hair and left it feeling smooth and silky.

Love that it is sulphate free and the 2% gloss complex with glycolic acid enhanced hair quality and shine. My hair felt stronger and shinier. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Shampoo [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far I am really loving this shampoo! Not only does the scent smell so lovely I’ve noticed nice shine also!! I got this product to trail and after washing my hair 3 times so far it’s honestly really nice, the lather is nice, the scent smells very fresh and beautiful shine!! I would definitely 100% repurchase this collection from L’Oréal. It restores hair fibre and seals the hair cuticle leaving it glossy and shiny! Love that it is sulphate free too! I definitely have already recommended to friends and family!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First time trying this range of products by L'Oréal and I am very shocked at how well this shampoo worked with my hair. I found the product to lather really well and covered my hair fully without having to wash and shampoo a second time which I find I need to do with some other brands. The smell of the shampoo is really nice and I like the pink appearance of the product too, very cute and appealing! The packaging looks great too and easy to store in my shower. I wish it came in a bigger bottle as I have really long hair so this bottle won't last me too long but overall I loved the shampoo and definetly will get my friends and family to try it also!

It left my hair feeling clean. It lathered nicely. It rinsed out easy enough. It didn’t irritate my sensitive skin and it paired well with the others in its range. Everything about this product is so good, from smell to lather to my hair after. I haven’t felt my hair so soft in quite a while. I have received so many compliments from people after using this shampoo. I would definitely purchase it on repeat. It is so easy to apply and gives you a cleaner, fresher hair instantly. Already recommended to my friends and family and recommending this to anyone who wants a perfect looking salon like hair.

It does not produce much foam which I find useful because it means I massage it in more and it does not run into my eyes. It comes in attractive packaging and works particularly well when paired with the rest of this range. The packaging also complements the rest of the range (the conditioner, laminate and serum) which is visually appealing. The shampoo has a relatively nice scent, although nothing that particularly stands out. It would be nice if it had a more perfumed scent but not if this came at the expense of other attributes it has. I recommend this product as an effective, visually attractive and useful product.

However, much the same as any other shampoo I have used. It didn't irritate my scalp, it lathered up really well and my hair felt properly clean as it should.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shampoo Review [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall shampoo was okay, however it did not foam well at all. The product did not get bubbly when in the hair, and although it did clean the hair, the lack of bubbles was off putting as a second shampoo was needed to get bubbles. Also, the smell was not pleasant. It has a very strong chemical odour that made the experience unpleasant.
