Directions

Use as a pre-shampoo treatment 1-2 times per week. Part hair at scalp as best as you can. Apply a small amount to damp or wet scalp and gently massage in small circular motions. Rinse well, then shampoo and condition as normal

It is gentle but still feels like you’re thoroughly clean, nourished and not overly dry. I also found it easier to rinse out compared to other scalp scrubs I used in the past. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Unfortunately I often struggle with a dry scalp and visible flakes which obviously makes me a little self conscious. So I was very pleasantly surprised to find a product that really works so well at removing the visible flakes. After using the Deep Clean Scalp Scrub only a couple of times, I already noticed a reduction in the amount of visible flakes I had. My scalp felt cleansed and exfoliated and in general just felt better. I received this product from A’kin to review.

Although it does take a while for me to wash all the scrub out of my hair it is definitely worth it! It smells amazing and it is great my for my sensitive scalp too! After shampooing I still noticed my scalp wasn’t completely clean with a few flakes and build up here and there but this scrub removed so much build up from my scalp and left it feeling so clean and fresh! The scent is very refreshing and beautiful and I love the packaging. I find it combination with the shampoo and conditioner this works really well. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Revitalising at Next level A'Kin Deep Clean Scalp Scrub I feel like my hair has gotten a lot softer over these last couple weeks and I'm noticing it more within this past week. I think it took roughly just over 2 weeks for me to see noticeable results, such as a great reduction in dandruff and my hair looking a lot healthier! What I love most about this scalp scrub is that it has a very fresh and cooling sensation which I crave since I get such an itchy dry scalp. The smell was also quite nice, not too overpowering but enough for my hair to smell nice. My curls look more defined and my hair certainly feels a lot softer. Whether you use hair products or not, scalp and hair follicles will get clogged with dirt and oils! This Salt Scrub is hands down the best part of hair wash!! I could see what the brand was and what the product was very clearly. I agreed with the claims on the bottle how it reduces pollution build up and it increases shine. It's great how it has been dermatogically tested and it's Australian made and owned. It was very easy to squeeze the product out of the bottle. The scalp scrub was nice and yellow. The consistency of the scalp scrub was just right and it lathered into my hair really well. The scalp scrub scent was beautiful, all the ingredients worked really well together. After using the product in my hair, my hair felt so fresh, clean and hydrated afterwards. I do have oily hair and the product was suitable for oily hair. My hair felt more dry afterwards and less oily. I had never tried a scalp scrub before and I was very impressed. I was gifted this product to trial and review.

I have a lot of hair so the scalp scrub is not the easiest product to use / wash out, however the results were very satisfying. I was initially worried that my hair would be dry or frizzy from using the scrub, but when paired with the Deep Clean Shampoo and Conditioner, my hair (& scalp) looked and felt so healthy. I initially received this product from A'Kin to review, however I will continue to purchase.

It's feels almost like a facial scrub except for the scalp. If you have thick long hair, it maybe a bit difficult to get close to the scalp to scrub.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the concept but difficult to use on long hair I really like the smell and the concept of this scalp scrub. It's the first scalp scrub I've ever used. However with my really long head of (+ a lot of) hair, I found it difficult to apply the product evenly across my scalp, and rather only really managed to get it in small areas with my fingers as my hair doesn't easily part while wet in the shower. The second difficulty I had was rinsing the scrub out completely. I had to use my handheld shower head to get right up into my scalp however I still noticed when I was drying my hair that I had little bits of leftover product that I wasn't able to remove. My husband however found the product easy to use and wash out with his short hair. The scrub did clean my scalp and in happy with the exfoliation and increased blood flow to my scalp from using this however it requires a lot of effort to use to ensure you're applying enough and rinsing it all out which is why I've given 4 stars instead of 5. I was gifted a sample to trial and review.

I've never used a hair scrub before and although it felt a bit thick and odd at first, once I added some water the mixture was easier to rub into my scalp. You could feel the product build up being gently sloughed away with this gentle although effective scrub. It felt like a special spa treatment! I'm not sure it reduced the oil after use but I'm not sure anything can with my hair lol. I received a sample to trial and review.

Hence my expectation was very low when I tried this, the scrub itself is salt based and fine so it actually stays on scalp to do its job. Not very aggressive on scalp skin but still does a fine job. Another thing I had noticed with salt scrubs left my hair dry, again not with Akin. And easy to wash off the scalp as well. If you have itchy, flaky scalp like mine this helped! I hadn't used a scalp scrub prior to trying this one and I was pleasantly surprised! It does take some getting used to, as it feels very gritty and strange getting it into your scalp. BUT I did find a reduction in flakiness and it did definitely help with my greasy looking hair and product build up. You do need to double shampoo after using this to get all the grit out. Rated 3 out of 5 by from sandy hair ok so heres the thing. i had never used a manual physical expholiant on my scalp before but LOVED the idea of it as i love them elsewhere on my body so why not on my scalp right? well listen, this is by no means the fault of the product as its actually a very nice scrub but ive discovered that i dont like all that grit all up in my hair. i aint about it. so ive used the scrub elsewhere on my body, legs and feet mainly and its great haha! it does wash out of your hair well if you make sure to rince properly so there was no issues there, i think its just s sensory thing for me! i was sent this for review

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Left my scalp feeling cleansed. Product is okay, but parts are average. I used this as part of a gifted set with the conditioner and shampoo to review. I would purchase it if it was on sale because my scalp did feel clean and my hair lasted a few days without needing a wash. I usually get a big dandruff and oil build up. I used the cleanser then the shampoo and conditioner and this definitely gave me a very thorough clean. I will say that both the cleanser and shampoo are really quite drying so using a very hydrating conditioner and then hydrating product post shower was very important. I wouldn’t use this product every wash, maybe every two or three washes. I used a small amount and rubbed it through my scalp. It is not foaming at all and has small bead style things to exfoliate the scalp. It was difficult to wash out but I got most of it out when I was rinsing my shampoo. It isn’t a product that you should rub harshly as it could damage your scalp. Just a gentle motion (I am used to a harsher scrub to ensure I get rid of product/oil/dandruff build up). This product lost points with me due to the packaging. It had a seal under a screw cap lid but it was like a tube with a large opening. This made of difficult to control the amount of product coming out and it made it hard to screw the cap back on while holding the product. Other similar products I have used previously had a cap lid that just snapped open and shut over the screw top. It frustrated me. It’s a decent enough exfoliating/deep cleansing product for its price point but I would only purchase it if it was on sale.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Texture is Too Fine.... Unfortunately, I hated this scalp scrub. The formula and how it cleans my scalp is fantastic. I have quite oily hair and this helps to get into my scalp and give it a deep clean however my issue with it is how fine the scrubbing particles are. It has a similar texture to sand which isn't ideal in my scalp scrubs. I also found it really hard to wash out and found myself the next day feeling like I had sand in my hair even though I had vigorously washed my hair. Overall, great formula but they really need to get the scrub texture down pat as it's horrible!! This is not at all a reflection of the brand as I love other A'kin products.

I found it just left the scrubbing agent (salt like product) in my hair that was hard to clear out even with shampooing twice and conditioning. It was difficult to get to the scalp and stuck everywhere but. It doesn't go far either, so it seems a lot is needed to clean properly. I did use on my husband who's head is partially shaved as an exfoliant prior to shaving, but he wasn't a fan either.

I found the consistency to be more sand like and it took a lot of rinsing to get it out of my hair. I also didn't find it to do a lot for me, I would prefer a formula which is more like a body scrub texture with bigger granules. The smell is quite nice and the easy to squeeze tube but that's about it for me. I was gifted a product sample to trial and review.
