General Information

Swisse Blemish Remedy Fast Acting Drying Lotion is a targeted, triple-action anti-acne treatment designed to provide rapid breakout relief and help clear the skin. It is expertly formulated with active levels of sulfur, salicylic acid, and zinc oxide to tackle stubborn acne spots, minimise redness, and prevent new breakouts by gently exfoliating the skin and unclogging pores. Co-developed with a dermatologist, it can be used on the face, chest or back to target even difficult breakouts.

Suitable For: All skin types, including acne prone.

Directions

DO NOT SHAKE PRODUCT.
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1. Ensure sediment is fully settled at the bottom of the vial.
Step 2. Dip a cotton bud inside the vial and coat the tip with a small amount of sediment. 
Step 3. Apply directly onto blemishes. Do not rinse. Can be used on face, back and/or chest. Avoid eye and lip area. Can be left on overnight.

With 10% sulfur - to visibly reduce inflammation & pimple size. 5% zinc oxide - to minimize redness, it also provides rapid breakout relief & helps clear the skin. It also gently exfoliates to unclog pores & help prevent new breakouts. I found it worked effectively on my blemishes, aligning with its intended purpose. However, the scent is quite strong, which made me hesitant to use it at first. Since it’s a targeted spot treatment, those with sensitive skin or fragrance concerns may want to patch test before use.

This fast-drying quality makes it a convenient option for anyone looking for a quick overnight treatment. As the packaging suggests, the lotion helps to dry out pimples, and I did notice a decrease in size and redness after consistent use. By morning, the inflammation was reduced, and the blemish appeared calmer. However, as the pimples dry out, they can leave the skin feeling textured, which I found made me more tempted to pick at them - something to be mindful of. While this product works well as a short-term solution, it doesn’t provide immediate, dramatic results after just one use. It’s more effective when applied consistently over time. My pimples had fully developed by the time the treatment started working. I also didn’t love that you have to use a q tip every time. But overall, it was quite easy to use and if you have the patience it would probably be your best friend!

It claims to gently exfoliate the skin and unclog the pores, I personally didn’t find that it did that. It also dries off with a pink residue in the spots I treated so not idea to use it unless you are staying home only. It is easy to use, application is done with a fresh clean cotton tip. I was given this product to trial.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Useful but not my jam [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was incredibly excited to use this product, I've been suffering hormonal acne on my chin and neck for the last 12 months and have been struggling to find something to keep it at bay. I really enjoyed the way it is packaged, though found it frustrating to have to go through so many cotton tips just to apply enough to all of the areas I needed to. It was definitely calming and soothing to use at first, providing a cooling sensation and preventing me from picking at the areas because I didn't want to jeopardise the treatment. When I washed my face in the morning however, I didn't find much of a difference in the acne compared to other products I've used, and a couple of times it actually seemed to be worse than the night before. The fact that you have to wait for the product to settle meant that if you knocked the bottle over or tried to take it with you somewhere overnight, you may not be able to use the product straight away which was also frustrating when I first opened the package when it arrived. I would probably only use it for smaller areas in the future, rather than larger breakouts. I received this product from Swisse to review.

The vial bottle not only adds a touch of enjoyment to the application process but also ensures hygiene, as you don't need to use your fingers. It effectively dried out my existing pimples, yet I didn't observe a significant change in my underdeveloped pimples (small bumps beneath the skin). While this product worked well for my acne-prone skin, it might not be potent enough for more severe cases. I found a noticeable decline in how long a spot would stick around while I was using it. The chemical smell was a bit overwhelming. I didn't notice a considerable difference in my skin after using it as it claimed I would, just a slight reduction in pimple redness and size over a couple of days. The sediment in the bottle was frustrating as you have to wait for it to settle before you can use the liquid and if you dropped the bottle or even knocked it, you had to start again. The product does smell lovely and has a good consistency however.

My skin recently broke out again so I began using this drying lotion. I think the concept of it is fun and creative, however I didn't see results as soon as I was hoping to. We all want a next day fix and unfortunately this product didn't personally do that for me. It took about 3 consist nights of use to see a reduction in size of my pimples, however this was at the expense of drying out the surrounding area of the pimple, making my makeup not sit well.

But this product didn't really irritate me, but it also meant it took a few days to see results (it is also hard to determine whether this was just the skins natural healing period). I put this on my skin as soon as my pimples were starting to appear and it definitely wards them away. Next day the redness of starting pimples have disappeared. You are required to use a cotton tip for this i.e. have to dip cotton tip past liquid to touch the pink sediment at the bottom and then apply to face. The product leaves a pink residue on your skin and has quite a strong smell though (it reminds me of the old clearasil formulation) until you wash it off, is what I have found. So its a balance between effectiveness, smell and added steps! I received this product from SWISSE to review.

This blemish treatment comes in a glass bottle, it’s a little bottle. When I first see it, the pink and the water is all mixed together but after placing it down overnight, the pink separates with the water side. I follow the instructions and dip a cotton tip all the way to the bottom to get the pink part of the product. When I lift it up, the water part drips onto my hand which was annoying, I am not sure if that was suppose to happen. For pimples that have come out onto the surface with the yellow pus, this product is good at drying it out. For pimples that are still under the skin, it doesn’t do anything to do. It doesn’t always work with one or two application. For some pimples it works well but for others, there is no change. The pink also leaves a residue so be sure to clean it off the next day.

However, the next day the patch was red and extremely itchy so I did not have the opportunity to test it further. Lesson learnt to patch test!

You can't have anything on your skin before you put the product on and you can't put anything over it after you put the product on. This makes it incredibly tedious to add to a routine and use regularly. It also didn't have the fast effects that it was said to have. I saw no noticeable differences over the two weeks I used it. This may be because I had challenges adding it to my routine.

I put it on as per the instructions at nighttime and washed it off in the morning. Unfortunately I didn't get the results I was looking for. I did find that it dried up the inside of the pimples however it didn't reduce the look or redness of them. I found the constitution of the liquid different... it says not to shake it and to let it settle so I did. The top half of the lotion is clear and the bottom half is a thick pinky substance. I wasn't sure what I should be applying to my skin. All in all, I didn't find this product worked for me. I received this product from SWISSE to review.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inconsistent and inconvenient [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited to use this product as fast acting is exactly what I wanted however I found it to be really inconvenient and inconsistent. It wasn’t as “quick” to dry as I thought (unless I used too much) and it got all over my pillow. Which is disappointing as I was really hoping to use it on pimples on my back/neck. It worked on pimples I had already popped and it decreased the redness and inflammation on those however on pimples that hadn’t fully come up yet or those that weren’t popped yet, it made no difference. The smell is pretty strong, and it’s personally just not ideal for travel as the sediment needs to fully settle to the bottom. My skincare routine is simple and I felt this complicated it with little to no results.
