General Information

Swisse BHA 2% Clear Skin A.M. Balance Serum has been co-developed with a dermatologist to improve skin texture and clarity, and prevent breakouts, thanks to an optimal combination of salicylic and mandelic acid. Hyaluronic acid is also included to provide hydration benefits. Lightweight and fast-absorbing, ongoing use of this serum reveals a smooth and clear complexion. Developed to be part of your morning beauty routine, it is suitable for everyday use and all skin types, including acne prone.

Directions

For optimal results apply a small amount (1 pump) to the

It wakes me up and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and plump. As someone who suffers from acne, I find that it helps keep my breakouts under control. I decided to start in the morning as I didn’t want to introduce a new product roughly to my skin as my skin is super sensitive and difficult. I am 30 and suffer from acne due to pcos. Sometimes is ok however my skin often breaks out due to hormones. At the beginning this product caused more breakouts like with more pimples on chin, and face but after it looks my skin cleared up and got better. It seems also has reduced the pores size which is pretty amazing. I find it a bit dry on the skin so always use moisture after applying the product. Overall I like it and I want to use for longer and see how my skin is improved.

However, it dissipates quickly. In terms of skin texture, I did notice that it improved the look of my pores. As I don't suffer from breakouts anymore, I can't personally speak to the effectiveness in this regard, but I could see how the salicylic acid could help here.

My skin is in need of more hydration that this product provides. It is light weight and absorbs quickly, meaning moisturiser and makeup can go right on. It was easy to pair with other serums and products too. I would recommend for those with skin that is combo or oily.

Its primary function is to gently exfoliate and keep acne under control. The product delivered on all of that however I have to say I'm not a fan of the packaging. I couldn't "pump" the serum as per the instructions. There wasn't a doppler to drop the serum into my hand.

I was very excited to try this product as my skin has been feeling bit dull and not glowly coming out of this Melbourne winter months (did winter ever stop here?). I applied the serum night time only as I found that I didn’t get much time for the serum in my skincare routine during the day before work. I feel like the product has slightly improve my skin conditions, but will need to keep using the product more consistently. Overall, itself an okay product.

Other products in this category have been more effective for me. However, in saying that, this product at this price point is effective. It made my skin visibly smoother and added some hydration without making my skin oily. I wouldn't use this as part of a daily skin routine, and would only use it for some spots I already had, as it seems a bit too strong for daily application. Unfortunately daily use when trialling the product led to some of my skin becoming flaky and peeling off. I also was waiting to experience the "enlarged pore reduction" property of the product, to no avail.

The first time I used this I found that it was easy to apply on the skin and rather hydrating. I followed the instructions and applied moisturiser before my usual sunscreen with a high SPF rating before my make up. At the end of the day, I was upset to see that I had many more freckles than usual after a day’s use despite not staying out too much in the sun. After this I stopped using the product so I cannot say much about its skin clearing results. I would recommend a very high or zinc like SPF to protect against sun damage. I often have texture problems with my combination skin and have recurrent breakouts. I was excited to see how this product could improve my skin texture, but wasn’t blown away by the results. I’ve been using this serum every morning for the past few weeks. The texture is nice, it’s easy to apply and a great product to integrate into my quick morning routine. While my skin has definitely enjoyed this new product, I’ve been left slightly disappointed that my skin doesn’t feel any smoother than usual. Perhaps with longer term use I’ll see some results. I was gifted this product to trial and review.

I did wait ample time for the products to settle on my skin before layering, but still had no luck with getting rid of the balling.
