General Information

Swisse Retinol 0.1% Clear Skin P.M. Balance Serum improves skin texture, tone, and the appearance of fine lines, while keeping breakouts under control. Designed to be part of your evening beauty routine, this lightweight, fast-absorbing serum combines pure and encapsulated retinol with niacinamide, zinc sulfate, and hyaluronic acid. Continued use reveals a renewed, balanced, and hydrated complexion. Co-developed with a dermatologist and suitable for all skin types, including acne prone.

Directions

For optimal results, apply a small amount (1 pump) to the skin at night after cleansing. Limit initial use to 2-3 times a week and gradually increase frequency as tolerated. For night-time use only.

It was super smooth and easy to apply. Started using it just a few times per week and will increase over time as needed but yet to see noticeable results on skin. I do have quite sensitive skin so it’s a big win that I haven’t had a reaction. I got this product as a gifted trial

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Balance [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Managing my skin during the spring and summer can be challenging since I have combination skin. I was excited to try the Swisse balance serum since the market seems to lack serums for this skin type. I followed the directions and applied a small amount to my skin at night after finishing my skincare routine, gradually increasing the frequency until I used it every night. However, the serum's texture, which is more like a cream, didn't suit my skin. I prefer water-based serums that absorb quickly and feel refreshing. I also noticed no improvement in reducing my skin's breakouts. I experienced more breakouts, possibly due to the product's formulation. To use this serum, it is recommended to protect the skin with sunscreen rated SPF 30 or higher, which is a bit inconvenient for me. I hope that in the future, the Swiss brand can create a serum for combination skin that doesn't contain Vitamin A. On the positive side, the serum comes in a practical bottle with a pump, making it easy to apply the recommended amount. Overall, this product didn't work for me, but it did make my skin feel soft and slightly more radiant.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Feels like a nice moisturiser [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have been using consistently for 2 weeks starting with only 2-3 times a week and building up to everyday but I’m unsure if due to the short time frame or other reasons I haven’t noticed any differences in my skin. It does feel more hydrated overall but I’m not guaranteeing that’s from this product, I plan to continue using it to see if it reaps the benefits claimed and may update my review if something drastic changes, but currently it just feels like a good quality moisturiser

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for me [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked the pump bottle but the serum came out a strange neon pale yellow. The scent reminded me of cucumbers, fresh and pleasant enough. I used this product 3 times a week for the first week and then 3 days in a row the second week as I discontinued using it after this. Each time I applied the serum my skin would feel slightly warm. However my skin did not sting or go red like a reaction. If I touched my face after application, dried bits would come off on my fingers, like dead skin but I am not sure if this was my actual skin peeling or the serum dried out on my face. When this happened I would wash my face and my skin was nice and smooth afterwards, with a little warmth. Could not see any reviews online where others had this issue so because I did not know whether it was my actual skin or the serum, I stopped using it as I felt a little unnerved. Personally I would not use this product again but it may work better on a different skin type.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not impressed.. Not really what I was expecting. Since I started the product, I haven’t notice much change. There is minimal to null change on the age lines. I did notice changes in the pigmentation however is not an even change. I have lighter spots which makes the pigmentation look more darker! I think this product might be for people with very light pigmentation and light skin. I do not recommend it for people with honey skin tones.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Swisse skin care sucks Swiss Skincare Sucks, I have not been able to find a product that doesn’t pill, this means the product isn’t actually absorbing or doing its job, fifth product I’ve tried that pills and rolls up, it’s gross - beauty therapist here, have specialised in product chemistry and this product along with most active products in the line are just not it.
