General Information

Swisse Retinol 0.1% Clear Skin P.M. Balance Serum improves skin texture, tone, and the appearance of fine lines, while keeping breakouts under control. Designed to be part of your evening beauty routine, this lightweight, fast-absorbing serum combines pure and encapsulated retinol with niacinamide, zinc sulfate, and hyaluronic acid. Continued use reveals a renewed, balanced, and hydrated complexion. Co-developed with a dermatologist and suitable for all skin types, including acne prone.

Directions

For optimal results, apply a small amount (1 pump) to the skin at night after cleansing. Limit initial use to 2-3 times a week and gradually increase frequency as tolerated. For night-time use only.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice skin serum for use overnight - hydrates face [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using Swisse Clear skin for a week now as an alternative for my usual face cream I have been quite pleased with the result and have not had any adverse reaction.. I have followed the instructions and applied one pump after cleansing. It is quite gentle on the skin and absorbs easily. It is not oily or hard to rub on the skin. I think the ingredients do help to keep breakouts and acne away and help hydrate my skin from being in an air-conditioned office during the day. It is water based, so I do feel like that helps my skin absorb the serum. The bottle and pump is good quality and you get a good amount to use each night. I do like this product and would recommend it. I received the Swisse product to review.

My skin did feel plump and smooth after use and I didn't have any redness or sensitivity from the retinol which was good. However, I did not notice any noticeable difference to my fine lines after 4 weeks of use and the pump was a bit stiff so I felt I wasted product when too much came out.

Now I’ve just hit my 40s this product will be continued so I can work on the overall appearance of fine lines. I’ve always wanted to try retinol and it didn’t disappoint. My fine lines have been a lot smoother and overall appearance of my face a lot cleaner. I’m looking forward to continuing this as a regular part of my routine and super affordable too. Nice product with some noticeable results. Either way it feels good to apply and works well with other products.

Only issue I found was that if I went in too quickly after with moisturiser it would pill but that was easy to fix by waiting a bit longer.

I noticed a difference in my skin , some of the lines have reduced. I love the serum mostly because its nit like an oil other ones I have tried tend to tingle whereas this is more of a cream also hydrating. My skin is feeling more hydrated and plump with some wrinkles less noticeable after 4 weeks of use. Also love that it has a pump and not a dropper style , always find they stop working and cannot get all the product! Awesome product highly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helps Smoother & Less Oily Skin backed by Science! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Swisse serum a few weeks ago and so far, I'm impressed. My skin has gotten smoother and less oily and haven't noticed any breakouts so far. The serum is easy to apply and absorbs quickly. It doesn't have a strong fragrance, which is a bonus. It contains retinol, which is known to help with signs of aging. The only drawback i can think of, is that it's a bit expensive, but I think it's worth it for the results.

I was skeptical of this product doing anything noticeable to my skin but after about 7 days the dark spots looked lighter after 3 weeks my skin is the most even and clear it’s ever been. So much so people have complimented my skin which never happens.

A decent sized bottle with a heavy feel to it. Smooth and easy pump applicator made it easy to control the amount used. I was using 1-2 pumps to do both my neck and face. I was surprised by the colouring - bright yellow but doesn’t stay this colour on your face or anything it blended right in. I first cleansed my face using my regular cleanser and patted dry, before applying this retinol. It was comfortable to put on. No stinging or irritated skin, as someone who has sensitive skin and rosacea this is really important to me as triggering a reaction is my nightmare! The product itself leaves my skin feeling hydrated, soft to the touch and plump. I have used it regularly over the last two weeks (3-4 times a week) and followed with my regular facial moisturiser. I think there is definitely an improvement in my overall face texture as well as some of the fine lines in my forehead and smile lines. I was lucky enough to be gifted this product to review but I would purchase it again. Great retinol at an affordable price point. I prefer it to the dropper version I have trialled from other brands as this is easy to control the amount and isn’t runny.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm in my early 40s and I've never tried any SwissE skincare products prior to this serum, I was surprised at how good this product is especially for hydration and nourishing the skin. This product is a serum it's light weight, fragrance free, easy to dispense and absorbs quickly into the skin. I've been using this continuously as my night time routine, my skin feels more softer, it has some radiance to it which is probably from the hydration and my skin just feels more refreshing in the morning. I've noticed subtle changes in fine lines and my skins texture, for its reasonable price point its a great addition to add into your nightly skin care regime. It absorbs into the skin very quickly and goes not feel greasy at all. The texture is more like a cross between a gel and a cream. I did a patch test first as recommended by the product instructions and then proceeded to use the serum 3 times a week. After the first use my skin felt incredibly soft and smooth, however by the second use there were a few retches of skin that were red and peeling away. I'm not sure if that is expected or not. I received this product from SWISSE to review.

I also did not see a change in my skin tone, texture or pores. However when I applied it I did notice it hydrate my skin but this is the case with most creams I have used in the past. Overall nothing remarkable, would not purchase in the future.

Not amazing, not terrible—just somewhere in the middle. It went on smoothly and didn’t feel heavy, which I liked, but I wasn’t blown away by the results. The biggest change I noticed was in my dark spots—they looked a little lighter and overall brighter, so that was a plus. But aside from that, I didn’t see much of a difference in my skin. Would I recommend it? Maybe, if fading dark spots is your main goal. But if you’re after something with more noticeable results, this might not be the one. 3/5 stars from me.

Upon application my skin felt hydrated, though I don’t believe I saw any major transformations beyond this. I enjoyed using the water based formula, it was very easy to layer it with my evening skincare routine products. The pump is a smooth and easy process, 2 pumps is the perfect amount to cover my face and neck. This didn’t irritate my neck, this often happens with retinols. I was gifted this product to trial and review. This formula absorbs quickly and you need to distribute quickly to cover desired areas with each pump. Yet to see results with fine lines or deeper wrinkles. However, I would assume that with a little more time and patience results will show themselves.

I was keen to try this product as I understand the Balance range from Swisse is for oily skin types. I was hoping this retinol would improve my skin texture and just generally help with smooth, healthy looking skin. I've been using this product 2-3 times a week at night for just under a month. The product absorbs well, has fragrance and one pump is enough for your entire face. I had a little breakout initially while my skin adjusted to the retinol. After using it for a couple of weeks, I saw some improvement in my skin texture and a little more brighter looking skin. I think it's still early to tell though, so further use will probably show further improvement.

I like that it has niacinamide to keep acne & redness at bay & hyaluronic acid for hydration. Easy use pump. I started using every 3 or so nights so it wasn't really until the a few weeks of using it that I felt a clarification to my skin Worth it for a low cost alternative to expensive retinol brands out there!
