What are hair bonds?

Hair Bonds are protein chains found in the inner most part of the hair, the cortex. When hair is submitted to stress from colouring, styling or simply just brushing these hair bonds can break causing deep damage.

How do you treat broken hair bonds?

Elvive Bond Repair contains Citric Acid which helps build inner broken hair bonds. The molecule is small enough to penetrate deep within the hair to give back its original strength.


When should I use Elvive Bond Repair?

Elvive Bond Repair works on all levels of damaged hair and all hair types. Start with the Bond Repair Pre-shampoo, by applying on damp hair and allowing it to sit for 5 minutes. Then follow with the Bond Repair shampoo and conditioner. The final step is the Bond Repair Leave-in serum use on damp or dry hair to help shield and add shine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love how much the shampoo lathers and how clean my hair feels after using it I have noticed less hair shedding and breakage and my hair feels thicker after only a few uses, I have tried other brands bond repair products and the L’Oreal elvie range is my favourite so far I highly recommend giving the range a try I will definitely be continuing to use it in the future

I did have a salon trip before starting using these which helped a lot, but I really feel these products helped continue that stronger healthier feeling I left the salon with and my hair has overall felt less brittle and dull. The shampoo looks good in the shower, looks more like a salon type brand, and smells more upmarket than most basic shampoos. Overall I will buy again

The smell of shanpoo is so nice and fresh. I have blonde and freezy hair, sometimes it is hard to manage. After washing with this, my hair has become more easy to manage and smooth. Especialy it has helped me to get more stability.

My hair is dry at the ends and gets a little oily at the roots. I wash my hair daily, don't judge me! When I straighten my hair, I notice lots of breakage and frizz. My hair needed repair and quick! After just one use, I noticed less hair fall and my hair was smoother! This shampoo is amazing and is at an affordable cost point compared to the other brand which is very expensive. I will continue buying Elvive Bond Repair shampoo... Its a hair lifesaver!

I also tested them individually to make a good opinion on each product (and also because of the overall cost of the 4 products if I was to buy them). L’Oréal Paris Elvive Bond Repair Shampoo is a good product too but again I was not wowed by it on its own. Unlike the conditioner and the serum in the Elvive Bond Repair range that I feel can be used on their own and stand out in terms of results, I didn’t think the shampoo was a game changer. It is a bit pricey compared to other brands and I have not notice a massive difference in terms of how my hair feels after the shampoo. What I really liked however was that it had a nice luxury feel to it, great texture, and a nice smell. I swim a fair bit and I found that my hair smelled less like chlorine with L’Oréal Paris Elvive Bond Repair Shampoo compared to other shampoo brands so I would say that it is an indicator of the Elvive Bond Repair Shampoo cleaning the hair better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Feels Clean and Lathers well [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After trialling this shampoo along with the other 3 products in the bond repair range for 2 weeks, my opinion on this item is a bit mixed. For context, half my hair is bleached, the other half is not. When I had first started using the bond repair range (first 2 washes or so), I noticed that my bleached hair actually felt more dry and brittle than before. After trialling it for a bit longer, it started to feel healthy again, but can't really say that it had made a significant improvement for my bleached hair compared to prior to trying the products. On the other hand, the unbleached portion of my hair has definitely improved, and feels much healthier and smoother. Overall, the shampoo smells really nice, lathers up luxuriously and leaves my hair feeling clean, but the effectiveness is a bit debatable given that the shampoo contains the lowest concentration of the bond repair complex over the other 3 bond repair products, and may only noticeably improve unbleached hair.
