Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a fan! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The concept and idea is very well thought of but ... i am not a fan of solid shampoos in general. This one i thought would change my view but fell short. It smells so good though and soft in the hair but it is so much work to lather and scared that i might end up with chunks of the soap in my hair. It also melts easily so i still like the liquid form so much better. It helps the planet but it is inconvenient for me to be honest. I think this also will cost me more than using the usual shampoo in bottles. Nice try though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used other solid shampoo products in the past that missed the mark for me, so I was excited to try this Garnier product. Firstly, the scent is delicious. I can smell it every time I walk into the bathroom - but I didn't notice the scent linger on my hair so much. The shape of the bar is easy to hold (at the initial size, anyway. I imagine it's more difficult as the bar is used up). I found the best way to use this product was lathering it up in my hands first which worked well, then applying the lather to my hair- rubbing the wet bar against my hair did nothing. After first use, I was pleasantly surprised. My hair felt soft and was super lightweight and fluffy (in a good way) after air drying. However, after second, third and fourth use in a row, I found this was no longer the case. I felt as if there was build up of product in my hair towards the roots (nothing else but the shampoo had been used) even after being thoroughly rinsed out each time and my ends were feeling dry. It says it's nourishing, so I tried it without conditioner, but it definitely needs conditioner afterwards, as it is no where near as nourishing as I'd hoped. I think it would be a good space-saving, leak-free option for travelling, but it won't replace my regular shampoo. It would be good if there was a travel/storage tin for the bar to keep it clean for travel etc that was a separate purchase so you could just refill with a new bar. I have only used the bar a handful if times over the last few weeks, so it would be interesting to see how many uses this bar lasts for, because if it suits your hair type, it could be quite cost effective. It seems to be a good starting point for a solid shampoo, but it definitely needs refining for me... I'd like to see something more hydrating. Perhaps a solid conditioner would be good too. I think it would be a good option for a weekend away, but as the formula currently is, it would not be a long term regular use product for me. So a purchase recommendation definitely has a disclaimer against it. But a good start in the right direction for sustainability and eco friendly. But can definitely make more products with that fragrance!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shiny result but lots of arm-work [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I've never used a shampoo bar before, and what initially drew me in was the simple packaging and lack of plastic. I have used this product several times now, and have noticed that the bar leaves my hair super shiny and feeling very clean. I also feel that I can go more days between washing my hair too which is great. The only things that don't make this shampoo bar worthy of 5 stars is that the smell is quite potent for me and it does take some patience to work the product through the hair, as it doesn't lather. I am used to products that don't lather, so it didn't bother me that much, but as my hair is quite long now, it did take some time. I would recommend this bar to people with much shorter hair.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Shampoo bar [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The idea behind this product it self is great having used no plastic since that's the way the world is heading The shampoo bar didn't seem to work amazing for me I have very normal sometimes dry ends but I found this to dry my hair out and make it a tangle mess I love the idea but it isn't for me I find it very hard to find a shampoo and conditioner that actually work for my hair even though I have a normal hair type alot of products dry my hair out or make it very oily and this product did that the smell is nice but the bar does seem like a normal soap bar does shrink and start to crack like soap

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Banana shampoo bar [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve tried the shampoo bar for a few weeks and found the banana shampoo bar smells AMAZING, I love that it’s eco friendly packaging, but it leaves my hair feeling extremely dry and just out of control. I have frizzy hair, so I’m not sure how it would go on straight hair. I wouldn’t recommend it on hair that is curly or frizzy because it made it unmanageable. The application of the bar is difficult to and as much as it smelt good, and it’s eco friendly, I’ve found I would prefer a shampoo bottle for ease of use and convenience. I wouldn’t personally purchase the product for myself but I definitely say if you have straight hair and don’t mind a bit of application time if you have long hair, then definitely try it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Idea but Not an Ideal Substitute [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was the first shampoo bar I have ever tried. The packaging was simple/ convenient and I wanted to use it to help the environment but I wasn’t that impressed. Whilst the shampoo left my hair with a beautiful smell there were many flaws to this product. This product did not produce any lather and it was really difficult to use. I won’t be using it again and instead will return to my regular shampoo. I really want to find a way to reduce plastics, especially in the bathroom where we can't swap over to glass and these bars offer the perfect opportunity for change. But while the idea is great the execution isn't. I have long curly hair, so just getting the product into my hair was a chore. It definitely wasn't as hydrating and nourishing as I was expecting it to be. I will not be using this product again due to my thick hair. However, this product would suit thinner hair.
