Rated 4 out of 5 by HelenP5 from Hydrating Eye Serum The Cetaphil Optimal Hydration Refreshing Eye Serum comes in a 15 ml tube with a nozzle tip for easy application & a snap on cap. This design was a bit troublesome for me as you need to use a little bit of force to get the cap off, which more often than not, resulted in wasted product from needing to squeeze the tube at the same time. I think this could be improved by having a twist off cap. The serum is more like a very lightweight cream that absorbs quickly into the delicate eye area. The serum is formulated to reduce dark circles, puffiness & smooth the look of fine lines caused by dehydration. I used this serum morning & night as directed for just over two weeks, unfortunately I didn't find it to be as effective on my puffy eyes or dark circles as other products I've used in the past, but it has improved the overall condition of my eye area. My skin looks more supple & it has smoothed out a lot of the fine lines that my concealer would normally settle in. I found that it layered well with my makeup & other products in the collection.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Debs C. from Nourishing eye serum [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Cetaphil Optimal Hydration Refreshing Eye Serum along with the 48Hr Activation Serum, daily cream, body spray moisturiser and body lotion in the same Optimal Hydration range to trial. I have dry to normal skin, more leaning towards dry in the cooler months on my face and body so this was the perfect range to try for my skin needs. The eye serum is packaged in a 15ml plastic tube with a unique flat nozzle. Similar to the facial serum, I found the consistency and texture of the eye serum to be quite thick for an eye serum - it was more of a lotion consistency. This didn't really bother me and I didn't have any adverse reaction from the thickness of the serum around the eye area. It was very nourishing and absorbed easily into the under eye area without any sticky or tacky after feel. I didn't have any issues with layering this under the facial serum either. The serum was fragrance free which is great for those sensitive to fragrances. The serum contains Hyaluronic Acid, peptides, jojoba and algae extracts, vitamins B5 and E to rehydrate and soothe the look of fine lines. I didn't really notice any visible reduction in fine lines or the appearance of dark circles and puffy skin. I don't think it's really possible with this product however I did really enjoy using this serum and would definitely recommend and purchase as it was hydrating and nourishing regardless.

It is fragrance free and I did not experience any irritation from it at all. It comes in a squeezy tube, but the lid is sturdy enough that it will stand up on its end. The applicator tip is the best I have used - it's hard to describe, but it's good. I used this serum around my eye area twice a day and I did find that it was hydrating and left my skin feeling soft and plump, no dryness or tightness at all. The white cream is a nice consistency and applied easily. It goes a long way, so only a small amount of product is required.

It applied well and offered intense yet gentle hydration and nourishment to the under eye area. My skin looked more rested and refreshed after applying and puffiness was visibly reduced. It was wonderful on my sensitive skin and didn't cause any irritation while leaving me with a beautifully radiant, healthy glow. It was soothing and calming and hydration lasted throughout the day and night, leaving skin silky soft and smooth. A product that I would happily continue using and recommend to others, great and a little of this goes a long way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Emily from Simple and nicely smoothing [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Plumping, fragrance free, effective yet simple; this eye cream isn't for someone with deep crows feet, but would likely be suitable for someone who is young and has decided they want to introduce an eye product into their regime. Strong points for being non-irritating and absorbing quickly. I took off one star for the applicator – it has a little rubber lip designed to be swept under the eye area, but I didn't think it was necessary as it didn't spread the product very well. Instead I dispensed it onto my ring finger (it has a gel-cream consistency) and gently pressed and smoothed it in. The under eye area was hydrated very well right away, and concealer sat on top nicely. I might buy again; I find eye creams to be hit and miss and often my diet and sleep is what improves this part of my face more than any cream has (I have tried Lancome and Tatcha), but I cannot find huge fault with this.

I am always a little sceptical of eye products and their claims. But this serum is lovely. To start with it has a great little applicator, I've never had an applicator like it. It's great though and allows you to squeeze out just the right amount and it keeps it from leaking and making a mess. I'd imagine it also keeps it clean and somewhat sterile. The serum itself soaked in after a few minutes and left my under eye feeling hydrated and lush. I actually do think I looked slightly less tired when I was using this product. I also find some eye products are too thick and end up giving me milia, however this serum was lovely and light and I had no milia or irritation at all (sensitive skin girl).

The packaging could be improved a bit, the opening was a bit big and more than once I squeezed a bit hard and way too much product came out. I’m used to using more oils around my eyes. This serum kept the area moistured but I wouldn’t say the fine lines improved, and the dark circles were still there after two weeks of morning and night use. I did like the texture and the light, barely there fragrance. I just feel as I have mature, thin skin around the eye area I’m better suited to a heavier “oil” type serum.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was lucky to have been sent the Cetaphil Optimal Hydration range for trial which includes their daily cream, eye serum, body spray, body lotion and activation serum. The eye serum comes in a compact easy to use squeezy tube with a very efficient applicator tip. You can apply by squeezing this straight under your eyes or like me i prefer to squeeze it on to my finger first and apply from there. There is no scent and does not leave a sticky residue. Skin around my eyes feel firm, hydrated and refreshed. Overall, very pleased with the range!

I used it day and night for 2 weeks. I am 47 yrs old with fair normal skin. I am slightly oily in the T zone and drier in the cheeks. Firstly the packaging is good, the lid is a pull off as opposed to a screw top. It has a small square nozzle to squeeze out the cream onto your ring finger. The cream has no scent and is a white mid weight product. The texture is beautiful and spreads very easily along the eye area. No tugging or pulling the skin when I massaged it in. I felt it left my skin hydrated and nourished and it absorbed very well. Definitely refreshing, silky and smooth. I didn’t notice any improvement in texture to my skin around the eyes but it felt nice and hydrated. I will continue to use and recommend to my friends if they are after a budget eye cream.

It provides basic hydration, but falls short in delivering noticeable improvements in fine lines and puffiness. I give it a fair 3-star rating, as it fulfills its function as a basic eye serum without any particularly remarkable features. While it does provide a degree of hydration to the delicate eye area, I found the results to be somewhat underwhelming compared to other eye serums I've tried. The silicone tip allows you to dispense the product and then massage it in without extra product coming out. I’ve tried roller application so many times but too much product is always applied as you try to massage it in. The serum itself is nice, it’s light weight and easily absorbed. I haven’t been using it that long so I haven’t seen any affects other than moisturising. I will be going back to my more active eye creams once finished to keep on top of the dark circles and fine lines.

My under eye area is very sensitive to products and I'm not sure if this had much of an impact or noticeable improvement on my skin. I used nightly for 3 weeks but didn't necessarily notice any improvement in my under eye area tone, texture or circles. Maybe I just need to use it for longer?? I'll continue on with using it in the hope I start to notice a difference. It wasn't as hydrating under the eye as I was hoping it would be. I do have very fair skin which shows dark circles quite easily so I was hoping this might be able to help with that. I'll keep trying it to see if I just need to use it on a longer term basis.

I am Asian in background and has sensitive and dry skin type, age 35-40 years. Packaging - the product comes in a plastic tube with a flat nozzle/tip. Product - the product is odourless and transparent in colour. The consistency lies somewhere between a gel and ointment. It is easily spread over the eye region and quickly absorbed. No left over stickiness sensation is left on the skin after application. Effects - To be completely honest, i did not notice any significant hydration or any sort of improvement for my skin.

I used it morning and night but didn’t really notice any visible improvement job my eye area. The main positive would be that it is a lovey consistence and it applies nicely. Also no scent who can is good for sensetive skin. It does provide some hydration to the eye area but it didn’t last very long. If your younger and your eye area isn’t aging this would be a great starting product but if you’re older you probably need something a bit more that this.

It doesn't target wrinkles, puffiness etc but it is a lovely, light cream to use at night and does seem to keep my skin hydrated. I tend to use a gel based eye cream in the morning to brighten my eye area. Some creams in the past have caused little pimples around my eyes or some itching, however I didn't notice any of these symptoms with this cream so I would recommend it to anyone with sensitive eyes or skin. It didn't leave any sticky residue either. The tube tip makes it easy to glide along under my eyes which I like. I will definitely continue using this at night or when my eyes are particularly dry.

This eye cream has no smell and is not heavy nor too light in texture. It absorbed very well under my eyes and as a prep for make-up. I have 50 year old combination skin for reference. Wrinkles, fine lines and crepiness are my main concerns. I would recommend this eye serum to others as a good base for their daily face routine topped up with a retinol product for a boost. I will continue to use it as it’s a great value trusted brand.

I think I actually went backwards a little in terms of elasticity around the eyes and fine lines. I am noticing them more using this product than I would my normal eye product. The applicator is nice and easy but I'm not a fan of applying products straight from container to skin as it can transfer bacteria. Still better than sticking your finger in a tub though. A pump style applicator is safest. This cream did leave my eye area feeling greasy, which I didn't like at all and for this reason I wouldn't re-purchase. I would probably recommend for anyone with dry skin around the eyes though or texture problems. Overall not a bad product but no improvements since using it and too greasy for me.

It’s definitely a lovely eye cream for sensitive skin. Previously I’ve had issues with other eye creams causing skin irritation under my eye area, but this cream was very gentle. Personally not the biggest fan of the applicator, it felt a bit scratchy on my skin so I ended up using my fingers instead. My under eye area feels nicely moisturised now. I haven’t yet noticed any long term effects but I’ve only been using it for a couple of weeks. I would definitely recommend it for every day use for sensitive skin.

The packaging of the serum was good with a nice dispenser which dispensed only a small amount as a little of this serum goes a long way. I have to say the texture of the serum is more like a cream rather than a serum, which applied well and sunk into the skin easily. I didn't notice a big difference with using an eye cream but with the affordable price I'll continue to use to see if there is a difference longer term.

This is the very first time I have ever used an eye serum and it's not a bad experience. Like all Cetaphil products, it’s fragrance-free and this particular line is full of so many beneficial ingredients. The serum has the appearance and texture of a light lotion and I apply it as instructed; however, while it leaves my eyes hydrated, I feel the same job can be fulfilled by the face serum. I love the tube and the ease of applying the product but I do prefer the regular face serum.

It’s lightweight and un scented which I like. It claims to instantly hydrate the under eye for up to 48hours and help reduce the signs of dark circles, puffiness and fine lines. In my opinion I honestly don’t think it did any of those things for me. I generally don’t go for a serum when it comes to eye products, more so a cream targeted for those specific concerns. If anything it did hydrate my eye area but that’s about it. Wouldn’t repurchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jessa S. from Hydrating [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I started using the optimal hydration refreshing eye serum and found it to be really nourishing and moisturizing but a little unnecessary when using in conjunction with the Optimal Hydration Daily Cream and the serum. I personally preferred to use the daily serum all over my face and around my eyes and it felt a little more hydrating with the Daily cream than the eye serum. However, if I didn't have the Daily serum then this eye serum i would certainly continue to use it. It has a lovely light and creamy texture that glides onto the skin nice and smoothly, and you really do only need a small amount. This cream has a pleasant fragrance without being too heavy.

I'm not entirely sure this was enough time to really see any effects or changes. I applied the cream nightly over the top of the 48hr Booster Serum but could not say I have noticed much of a difference. The product itself is quite thick in texture and requires substantial blotting to absorb this into the skin. I found this product to have little to no frangrance which is a plus for me as I prefer odourless products for any nighttime routines as I sleep. Overall, I don't feel the trial timeframe was adequate enough to be able to assess this particular product.

The consistency of the eye serum feels quite nice on the skin. On application it absorbed into the eye area quite well. Over the period of the trial I can’t say I am any better for using the cream as I cannot see any improvement in the eye area. It has nice packaging and is easy to use but I am disappointed I did not see any change in the eye area. I probably wouldn’t recommend this eye serum which is a shame as I had high expectations because of the brand name.

While the body products were disappointing to me (for dry skin only, normal skin will probably appreciate these), and the face products were quite nice, the eye serum falls in the meh category. The texture is good and like the rest of the range, expect no strong fragrance, as well as no issues for sensitive skin. However this product was supposed to help with dark circles and puffiness… which was not a benefit I have personally experienced. If I had to choose just 2 products, I’ll go with the daily moisturiser and the face serum only

The applicator was easy to use and dispensed the right amount once you worked out how gently to squeeze the tube. The eye serum felt lightweight and a little oily. Only needed a very small amount as a little goes a long way. I found that it took a while to absorb into the skin, therefore I couldn’t use it in the mornings - prior to makeup application, only at night. No real benefits could be seen after trialling this product for a couple of weeks. Given its hyaluronic acid ingredient, I will continue to use in the hope I can see some results.

It is lightweight and sank into the skin without much effort. I like the packaging. It is also easy to use. I like how you can just dot the eye cream under the eyes. It is easy to get the right amount of cream as well. Unfortunately, this eye cream does not suit me. Out of the three Cetaphil skincare products that I have tried, this is my least favourite. It is not moisturising enough for me. After using this eye cream, I noticed that there were signs of dehydration under my eyes. I immediately stopped using and went back to my usual eye cream. Luckily the dehydration signs have gone. I think this eye cream will suit people with normal skin type.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sarah B. from Not Worth It [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this eye serum as part of a product trial with the 48 hour activation Serum, and the Healthy Glow Day Cream. My honest assessment is that it did little to nothing after two weeks of use for my dark circles and fine lines. Granted, I’m not one to care very much about dark circles and fine lines, but the claims on this product led me to try and see if it really did work. I did like the applicator that made it easy to apply, even for people who are clumsy and often drop things. Only a small amount of the product is needed, and it is dotted under the eyes and gently smoothed into the skin. It felt smooth and creamy to use and there were no negative points for it, except that the results for me were the same with or without it. The other two products in this series are great, but I’d skip this one.
