It is really thick but suprisingly becomes quite smooth and soft when rubbed into skin. I like that it doesn't feel heavy at all or greasy. I used this on my face after laser treatment and it didn't irritate and kept my face hydrated and protected. It kept my skin hydrated and it did not clog my pores or break me out. It is also good to use on hands, feet and any dry patches. I like that it has ceremides as well. There is no fragrance.

I put a pea sized amount onto each foot, put on a sock and left them overnight. In the morning my heels felt very smooth and soft. The cream definitely deeply penetrated my heels leaving them very smooth. The cream, although thick, works very well. I would definitely recommend this product and I will be interested to see if it works as well on other body parts that contains dry skin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jupiter from [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a big fan of QV's Dermcare eczema cream that works great as a face moisturiser, so it was great to trial another product in the range. Like the cream, this also contains ceramides, but is completely water-free. That makes sense since anything with water can sting when the skin barrier is compromised. Firstly, we were given the 100g tube for this trial. The product is quite stiff and I found it very difficult to squeeze the product out - I needed both hands and good grip strength, and even then, only 1-2mm of the product sticks out. I found it so be thick, a bit waxy, but not as waxy as Vaseline. It melts into skin with warmth from the hands. I wouldn't say that this was 'hydrating', but it is very occlusive, so it will stop trans-epidermal water loss very well. I imagine it will work well in very cold or windy situations. I tried using this in various parts of my face and body. The area around my mouth outside my lips always feels dry, so I put some of it on on top of moisturiser. It felt great and kept dryness at bay for many hours and I was using it overnight. However, by the third morning, I had a breakout spot (unusual for me), so it is a bit comedogenic. I don't think this product is suitable to replace a moisturiser (nor does it claim to), but if you're not prone to breakouts, I can imagine using this for slugging on top of moisturiser. It also works well as a lip conditioner. I tested the 'sting-free' claim around small cuts and agree with the claim. It also works really well rubbed into the cuticle area where I often get peeling. It works well on dry areas like elbows. Overall, a good occlusive product and definitely has it uses. The tube packaging really needs to go though - that's a fail and makes it so hard to use this product on the body. I would only recommend getting the 200g tub.

I was using it for a while and I can say that my skin is smoothar and my dry patches are slightly gone. My skin is starting to look healthy. However, it was very difficult to squeeze the cream out of the tub. I was struggling a lot to get even a small amount. I don't think the tube option for a 100 g of this cream is a good idea, as it wasn't a good experience for me to struggle to get a cream when I need it, especially when I'm in rush and I'm trying just to put a cream on a dry patches on myself or my daughter in the morning before leaving for school and work. I'll definitely use it in the future and highly recommended to everyone with a dry skin but definitely buy it in the different packaging not in a tube.

With it being an ointment I assumed it would be think and hard to spread on the skin, however I found the opposite. Initially it was a little hard to squeeze the ointment out of the large tube, so I was surprised to see the ointment spread so easily. In saying that, I think this should be highlighted on the packaging as when I read ointment I assume very thick. The ointment itself is clear and once applied to the skin, its easy to apply and spreads easily,and doesn't leave a horrible feeling like stickiness on my skin. I used on my face and specific dermatitis area on my neck, after the first application I noticed an improvement. I find the packaging quite clinical looking & think it would be better if it was directed more to our youth. I don't like the title of sting free Ointment as ointment based products are usually not easily to apply, but this ointment is very easy to. I'm extremely happy with this product and will continue to use and have no hesitation in suggesting this product for others to use.

Firstly, it is a bit of a workout to get this product out of the tube, I’m not sure if this is usual or maybe I received a very thick batch as I’ve never tried it before, but some serious squeezing is required and I was worried it would all come out at once.It is a clear, solid very dense ointment, almost like very thick Vaseline, I found it quite difficult to get the product out initially, but after a few uses it did get easier but I feel that unless you cut the tube open a lot would be wasted as it is hard to get out. However when you do get to use the product it is excellent, in the winter months my skin is very dry and nursing in a hospital I’m constantly washing my hands and using harsh sanitizers so I need a product that is super hydrating and effective. The dry skin on my hands, around my cuticles, knees and feet really responded well , it works best applied directly after a bath or shower when it absorbs quickly. It can feel a little greasy when first applied but I feel this shows the ointment is actually going to be effective rather than something you put on and it disappears immediately. My skin didn’t have any adverse reaction to the ointment which is fragrance free. The very dry skin around my nails and fingers which usually looks white and cracked is now very healthy and feels so much better. I would definitely use this product again and recommend it to anyone suffering from dry,cracked skin.

Continued side effects from accutane were dry lips and this ointment was helpful in reducing the cracking and dryness The product I trialled came in a tube and it was a bit difficult to actually get the ointment out at first but there were no issues with the ointment itself The ointment can be used for different skin problems etc so I'd recommend trying it yourself to see if it suits your needs.

On clean dry skin I rub it between my fingers and liberally apply it to dry areas which include backs of knees, heels, thighs, lips, inner elbows and hands. The ointment feels lovely and moisturising right away especially now when it is cold weather I have lots of areas to apply it. I like that it is fragrance and colour free. We both have areas that can become quite sore and this truely doesn’t sting.

It is a great product to soothe and help repair dry and damaged skin patches. The product is colourless and unscented and has a waxy texture. It applies more like an oil or a balm as opposed to a cream or ointment and doesn’t leave skin sticky or with a residue despite the thick texture of the product. It kind of melts into the skin. This was great for body areas I.e. dry patches on hands and elbows, but wasn’t the best on my lips as they felt like they were drying out too quickly. The only real downside to this product is I found it a little hard to squeeze out of the tube, especially when it was cold. I was grateful to receive this product as part of Trial Team.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Saffy86 from [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After showering daily I haven been massaging the QV Dermcare Sting Free Ointment into the heels of my feet which have some cracking due to my own fault of wearing incorrect shoes in the summer months I have been generously applying this before putting on my socks and also on my lips and my hands before bed. Packaged in a stand up squeeze tube, I did struggle to squeeze this out initially this may be because of the freezing cold weather we’re having at the moment, once I had used it a few times I did find it easier but do wonder if the consistency might be better suited in a tub than a tube? The balm is a thick consistency and cloudy white in appearance I need to warm it up in my hands first to melt it down a little so then it can massage into my skin. As claimed on packaging it doesn’t sting at all, it feels nourishing and comforting and massages in really well. I apply socks to my feet as I do apply a lot to that area but a little goes a long way for my lips and with my hands I apply before bed so I don’t wash it off giving it the most about of time to work on my hands. I have found since using this daily my heels, lips and hands aren’t as dry as they were in fact that feel soft and nourished. I like that it has no scent and it can be used for multiple areas. The 100g size is good and think it will last me a decent amount of time.

The packaging is minimal which is nice, easy to open and easily to be transported without any leakage. Product is very thick, be prepared to get it into your hands after, a little goes a long way. It is long lasting on the skin although can sting especially if you have cracked skin. It does work with hydration with a decrease of itching. But be sure to do a patch test as it can be irritating to cracked irritated skin. Best to put on after a shower to lock in the moisture or a wet wrap with a cloth and submerge in water and put over the cream to look in the moisture. Easily to re apply

It has a rich and concentrated formula that's ideal for very dry, cracked and flaky skin. This ointment has a thick texture and it's a bit hard to dispense the product from the tube, although once dispensed it melts into the skin. The texture is similar to coconut oil, and it quickly smooths, softens, and soothes dry, flaky skin. My skin can get sensitive skin, particularly in Winter, and I found this ointment added instant relief from excess dryness and it also helped soften my dry, rough skin very well.

I was only to pleased to try QV no sting ointment with ceramides. I immediately could tell that quality ingredients had been used as it had solidified in the tube so a little difficult to get out but worth it when it did. Not an ointment I would use on my Face as quiet thick and oily but provides moisture to the body as needed and claimed. With warmth of the body the ointment melts into the skin and does what it needs to do. No overpowering scents which is also great as can be reactive to the skin. Definitely an ointment I would continue to use

However I docked one stars because it has not actually moisturised that skin and it still continues to sting when I do not use the product. I do love the fact that it is fragrance free as I have very sensitive skin and it did not irritate my skin. I instead I have used this product to slug my face and it has worked amazingly for that because it is petrolatum based and I can see that in particular around my chin and mouth where it is very dry has become more moisturised not because of the product itself but because it has been able to contain the moisture and benefits of the other products that I have used under it. I am a big fan of this product.

Great solution for my very dry and sometimes cracked fingers and feet especially during winter. Made in Australia and fragrance free. Rubbing the ointment in hands gently to apply to dry skin hydrates, soothes and envelopes the driest skin. Applying before bed ensures hydration overnight which I love. The only negative is the consistency, my ointment came in a tube not in a tub. I found it hard to squeeze out of tube especially when it’s cold, had to warm it up with my hands to be able to push it out. Tub would have been a better solution. Highly recommend this product for anyone with very dry skin.

It can at times become really red and itchy and being that this is on my scalp it can become very obvious that I have this condition. I thought that I would give QV Dermcare a go to see if it would have any positive effect on the psoriasis. I have bee very pleasantly surprise by the positive reaction that I have had with this. The angry red inflamed itch that I get has calmed right down. I am also finding that the flaking that I get from this condition has eased also. And being that this is sting free it has not caused any further irritation. But the best part is that this product contains ceramides which is what is found in our skin, these help to balance the skin and help with hydration and protect against irritants!! Winning!! Give it a go, considering the price of this product you don't have much to lose!

With winter being here my skin has become so dry and this ointment has come in handy. The first thing I noticed when using the ointment was that it had a similar texture and feel to vaseline. It is thick so you don't need to use much of the product. I would use it mostly on my hands and legs where I have dry patches and wanted to protect and hydrate those areas the most. You can apply it on your face and your body and it doesn't cause any irritation. It provides your skin with a barrier which is what you need when you have dry skin. I have used it on my lips as well which gets really dry and cracked. It's good to have on hand and you can use it all year round but it especially comes in handy during the cold, winter months.

The only reason for not giving it five stars is that the ointment is in solid form and difficult to scoop from the container.

However, after the first go, this product now easily comes out. This ointment is non-greasy, absorbs easily and is great as a barrier product, which is important for eczema sufferers like myself. I found it does much much to use a normal basic moisturiser underneath, as on it's own I didn't find it as moisturising. This can be gritty out of tube, so if you have very irritated skin, warm it up first between fingers before applying. The tube does seem to get a bit misshaped after squeezing, but it's otherwise easy to use. It's not the best priced product of this type out there, but this does include ceramides for better skin barrier repair.

It immediately softened and smoothed my skin and leaves a protective layer like vaseline but not slippy or oily. I also had a dry patch on my right ankle which seems to have cleared up. So, I also tried it on some eczema/ rash areas and it definitely provided symptom relief after using it daily for about 4 days. Found the squeeze tube a little hard to squeeze and use, so will probably try the tub next time. I will definitely keep using it and hope it will continue to provide protection and moisture to my aging skin.

It was very hard to squeeze it out of the tube & it looked very thick & hard. It felt like a thicker version of Vaseline & was slightly grainy in texture, there was no scent/ fragrance. I used it daily on my knees & elbows as I have very dry skin there & prone to getting eczema. It worked well, kept my knees & elbows moisturized. I think the grainy texture put me off this product. I don't think it was for me unfortunately.
