Mode of Action: This hydroalcoholic solution contains 8% Glycolic Acid, an Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), to exfoliate skin, and target clogged pores and excess surface oil.

Results: Formulated to exfoliate, clarify and help tighten pores. This high-strength AHA formula is designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Directions

Apply to face, chest, back and other oily areas with fingertips or cotton pad. Use after cleansing and throughout the day if needed, as tolerated.

When I apply it , I do find my skin tingles a little. However nothing alarming and the tingling sensation lasts about a minute. The consistency is thicker than a toner. Kind of an in between serum and toner consistency. You have to be careful about dispensing the product because I sometimes pour more than I need onto my hands. You have to be very gentle in tipping it over to control the amount of product that comes out of this bottle. It 's quite concentrated and I feel I only need a little bit. The product is amazing, it really controlled the excess sebum and helped my skin maintain the matte balanced look and not become overly oily throughout the day. This product did not dry out my skin and did not cause any dry or flaky skin. I noticed my skin felt so smooth and bright. The wonderful feeling and look of skin that has had a beautiful facial treatment. This can be used on its own but if you use it with the serum , it packs the punch. My favourite product out of the range. If I want an instant pick me up of my skin and want to instantly brighten my skin and look fresh, this is the product I would pick. My skin is so smooth and supple and has that youthful glow. It has a slight scent to it.

It help my skin more clear and brighter after I use cotton and wipe all the excess oil, dirt left after I used the cleanser, it helps minimise the pore, the shine, my skin doesn’t feel dry or greasy with this toner, very smooth and freshen up throughout the day. The good part with this toner has reduced the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, which helps early signs of ageing. Formulated with glycolic acid so it is suitable for oily/acne skin plus oil-free, fragrance-free, non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic. I used to use Clinique Clarifying lotion for my oily/acne-prone skin but this toner is better than that and It is absorbed into my skin, my skin feels more moisture after I apply it. I would like to recommend oily/acne-prone skin. It is a good toner for my skincare.

Uneven skin tone. Used acids before, skin tough. This toner is clear, no scent, medium runny. Contains : Water, Alcohol Denat., Glycolic Acid (8%), Propylene Glycol, Ammonium Hydroxide, Polyquaternium-10, Chlorhexidine Digluconate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Polysorbate 20. Very simple formula. After cleanse I apply this toner, let it dry (allowing all alcohol to evaporate), it quickly makes my skin prepped for the serum/cream. Keeps my pores free of whiteheads and gently, slowly exfoliates. It is not too strong for my skin as I use acids regularly for a long time. Skin when using this toner is smooth and keeps its elasticity and plumpness.

These products are above my standard price range, but I received several compliments on the clarity of my skin whilst using them, so I'd have to say it's worth the extra splurge. I liked this liquid oil eliminating solution. I applied it after cleansing, like a toner. It was effective in reducing oil and improving my skin tone and helping me maintain a shine free t-zone. I found the packaging a little difficult, which sounds odd for a toner. I ended up pouring it into a toner spray bottle which worked much better for me. It's fragrance free and lightweight. I didn't suffer any reaction to it, but ensure you follow up with applying sunscreen to protect your skin.

My skin is quite oily, sensitive (does not tolerate any fragrance) and also blemish prone. This means I needed one that controlled the oil, didn't irritate my skin and didn't clog pores. The Neostrata® Clarify Oily Skin Solution ticks all those boxes. I've been using for a month and my skin is glowing, I've seen age spots fade away and my pores are clean and so consequently look like they are smaller, and my skin looks tighter after using it, yay!

With wearing a mask regularly (thanks Covid) I did use this quite a bit over my chin/nose area (where the mask covers) and found it helped me to keep breakouts at bay. My skin has remained clear and smooth despite a few clogged pores threatening to erupt. I found that when using this, I didn't need a lot of product and I didn't use it every day, only when needed or when I could feel bumps under my skin. All in all, I would purchase this again and found it did work for my skin.

I guess maybe because I haven’t found it really makes a difference to my skin. But this toner actually felt like it improved my oily skin. It was a little stingy on my open breakout around my hairline but this disappeared quickly. I used it after cleansing with the mandelic cleanser & my skin was left feeling super clean & clear but not stripped & tight. I follow it up with the serum afterwards & I feel like it’s done wonders for my skin. This solution has made a drastic difference to my teen daughters skin too who was experiencing a bad breakout on her back. We will continue to use it as part of our skincare rountine & is happily recommend it to anyone who suffers from oily breakout prone skin

I usually get a few hours in the morning before my T zone becomes a reflective surface, but now it's really not so noticeable any more. This product's texture is not quite watery, not quite gel-like. Be careful when dispensing because it tends to squirt out. I usually apply with just my fingers. It feels fine on my skin, never tight or uncomfortable, and it absorbs quite quickly. My skin always looks glowy and fresh after I use this product. I think with extended and regular use over time, it would help to minimise my acne scarring. I didn't use this or any of the other products in the range every day, as I'm not keen on using acids daily. But it's been a nice addition to my weekly rotation of exfoliating products.

I am aware of Mandelic acid as a product and have used it before in the form of a serum, but never as a toning solution. I found that this oily skin solution is much more gentle than my glycolic acid toner (not surprised at all!) and as a result, it was more of a pleasure to use. I was able to use this every day as the first step in my skincare routine (after cleansing, of course!) One of my favourite characteristics is the packaging - its easy to get the right amount. You can easy apply it directly to your hands, or use a cotton pad/reusable makeup pad. Overall, I am very impressed with this oily skin solution! I have to wear a mask for the full duration of my workday and honestly feel that it makes a difference in how oily I am by lunch time and the end of the day, when i use this solution. Quick side note: don’t forget to layer on that SPF!!!

This toner is watery so using it by cotton pad to clean your skin is the easiest way to use this toner ! Only little goes a long way ! I love the bottle design ! Like a typical toner is quite liquidy and doesn’t have too strong of a scent. With the use of a cotton pad it removes any oil or debris that I might have missed while cleansing. It’s a small bottle but you don’t really need much product for it to do it’s job. I don’t think it would be too harsh for most skin types. Overall it’s a nice toner which can help with diminishing the appearance of blackheads

I appreciated that this range was fragrance free and also appreciate that the brand uses scientifically based active ingredients such as glycolic acid. I use this every second morning as the second step in the Neostrata system. The product is nice to use, it was unique in that it has a thicker consistency to most toners. I applied it to a cotton pad before swiping over the face and neck. I could feel the active ingredients in this toner and could tell it was chemically exfoliating in a good way. My skin was clear, soft and baby smooth while using this product as part of the Neostrata system. I would recommend the Neostrata Clarify Oily Skin Solution.

My main concerns are pores, pigmentation & skin texture (acne scars) I’ve been interested in NeoStrata products for a while and I was delighted to finally have an opportunity to try their products. I’ve been using the entire clarify range and because I wanted to avoid over exfoliating my skin, I only use this twice or three times a week and only use it for my oily area like nose & cheeks. I was not sure if 8% Glycolic Acid (AHA) is stronger or not, but I’ve been using this lotion for a few weeks and I didn’t experience any sensitivity, dryness nor peeling. I haven’t seen any dramatic improvements for my oily skin and pore. My pores have been not so clogged from the start that’s why I didn’t see any changes. But the shine from nose has slightly reduced. Last a few weeks my diet has been very bad and I have only one small pimple under my chin. Surprisingly it healed very quickly and I believe it’s because of NeoStrata Clarify skincare range. I recommend this AHA lotion if you have oily skin as well as overall improvement for adult skin. Overall, I highly rate this product. Great formula and I’ll definitely continue to use this product.

I found this a little too harsh to use on my skin everyday/twice day in combination with the rest of the range but rather used it 3 times a week or every other day when my skin was feeling extra oily or congested. It feels lovely applied on the skin, and keeps skin feeling refreshed. It didn't cause me to break out or have a reaction which is always a win! Overall a nice product not the best toner I have ever user but does the job.

It’s a toner which worked well with my combination oily skin. It didn’t dry out my skin (which I have struggled with in the past), but instead left my skin feeling clean and fresh. I would first cleanse and then apply the toner with a cotton pad. The product packaging itself is nice and simple, a good sized bottle and the product was easy to use. I having been using it in conjunction with the Neostrata cleanser, mask and serum and have noticed it has kept my oily skin at bay.

Pros: I love that it is non-comedogenic, non-acnegenic and oil-free! Being oily, it is very important that the products I use won’t cause my skin to break out more than it already does. It is fragrance-free! While I don’t mind some fragrance in skincare as my skin tolerates it (whether or not I like the scent is another story) but some people are sensitive to it so it not being included as an ingredient makes this suitable for more people. Due to the absence of fragrance, this does have a sort of chemical smell to it but it isn’t unpleasant or strong, and quickly dissipates as soon as it is applied. I love the texture! I prefer toning type products to have a slightly viscous consistency (thicker than water) so I can apply them with my hands with ease and without wastage. This is perfect for using with my hands, and also great for using with a pad. It works! I found this to really help control the oily on my skin for hours after application. Cons: Unfortunately this did irritate my skin slightly at times, with a brief stinging sensation in a couple of tiny spots. I had no lasting irritation, only the brief sting which also didn’t happen every time. I ended up diluting the solution with a gentle calming toner which solved the issue, but I’m not sure why it happened as I have used products with different acids, including glycolic, of varying strengths many times without issue. Due to this, I can see this as possibly being irritating to someone with very sensitive skin. Conclusion: After a few weeks of use, I found the amount of excess sebum on my face was reduced (also on my upper back/neck where I break out) which I attribute to the use of this and the other three products I used from the Neostrata Clarify range. My overall congestion and the amount of breakouts I experienced have reduced since using these products. I think this range can be beneficial to anyone as gentle exfoliation is fantastic for keeping skin clear and youthful, so I definitely recommend for anyone interested in the benefits to try it. If you have sensitive skin though, I definitely recommend you don’t skip the patch testing with this particular product due to my experience.

As someone with oily and sensitive skin, I’m always cautious when it comes to trying new products. This clarifying solution has no perfume and a little goes a long way, so use sparingly. It has been great on my skin – no new breakouts and existing spots are slowly decreasing in redness and inflammation. My skin feels ‘tight’ after toning, but once moisturised this sensation settles. For those with extra sensitive skin maybe start by using once a day. Overall my skin feels clear, my pores look smaller and imperfections have reduced.

The Clarify Oily Skin Solution did dry my skin out a bit after using it everyday, however, I've just paired it back and use it every 2-3 days because my skin is a bit sensitive and I mainly use it on the areas that I have bad congestion. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with oily skin it works wonders!

The skin solution uses glycolic acid, which is one of my favourite skin care products for gentle but effective chemical exfoliation. Because of that, I found that this was a good product for my oily skin. However, I personally would be unlikely to repurchase, purely because I don't tend to use toner as part of my skincare routine, preferring a serum. But if you are someone looking for an exfoliating toner, this could be a good option.

Whilst I have been using it (mid winter) my skin hasn't been too bad but come summer when I'll have a permanent film of oil over my face, this will be my holy grail skin care product. I apply to my face in the evening after cleansing and you can really feel it penetrating your skin and getting to work straight away. It feels like it just strips all of the excess oil away WITHOUT drying your skin out. Some time I just use it on the oily parts (nose, forehead). I am definitely getting a lot fewer breakouts and less severe since using this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was lucky enough to trial the full Neostrata Clarify skincare line with BeautyCrew, including the cleanser, skin solution, serum and exfoliating mask. This skincare line has been amazing on my congested, oily and acne prone skin! The skin solution is very thin and refreshing on the skin, without making you feel super dry and dehydrated. I applied using my hands and found it to be the best way to make it sink into the skin. After several weeks of using it, in addition to the rest of the skincare line, I have noticed that my pores are visibly smaller, I don’t get as oily during the day under my makeup application and a lot of the small bumps on my face (particularly on my forehead) have reduced. Definitely recommend if you suffer from similar skin conditions or want to try a new, affordable range of products!

I also didn't break out after using it which is good. I put the toner on a cotton pad and it picks up dirt and debris from the skin that doesn't feel greasy or that my skin feel dry after use. The toner is oil-free and fragrance-free. The Neostrata® Clarify Oily Skin Solution is a welcome addition to my skincare routine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Neostrata® Clarify Oily Skin Solution is a toner that is formulated to exfoliate & target clogged pores & excess surface oil. Upon first use I loved the fresh clean scent & smooth consistency, not as liquid as other toners. Initally, my skin didn’t feel like it was being stripped & it felt nourished, hydrated, clean & fresh. However, after using the Toner for 2 days my skin started to sting & burn immediately after each use. Unfortunately it got worse the next 2 days & I had to stop using this product. Whilst I was using this product, it did help minimise shine, & I liked that it was Oil-free, non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic. Unfortunately it was not for me, but that’s not to say it won’t be suited to someone with different skin conditions.

All the packaging of the range is great and I love how much information is on the packaging and the directions are all really clear. Whilst I love the whole range I would say if you're not going to buy all 4 products this is probably my least favourite as personally I don't really feel like it really added that much benefit. I did try using it on my face with not much positive noticeable improvement from this single product Neostrata® Clarify Oily Skin Solution alone, it does mention it can be used throughout the day over makeup etc also and I was curious by this and did try it but must say it does not work like this and is kind of pointless to suggest that that would work. however where I did find the product effective I would say is else where I tend to get small break outs that are usually caused by exercise and sweat, on my declotage and sometimes bum cheeks, I would have to say it was quite effective for these. packaging and size of the product is also great, I usually get quite bad hormonal acne but have found this time around it has been a lot less severe with using the Neostrata range.
