Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible eyeliner, do not buy A few nights ago as I was getting ready to go to a party I realised I had run out of my favourite eyeliner by maybelline, and ya girl cannot go out without her wings. So in desperation I drove to my nearest chemist warehouse and, as I couldn't see my usual liner, I purchased this one instead thinking it would work just as well. How wrong I was. When I got back home and continued to apply my makeup I was bitterly disappointed. This liner is terrible. It only applies liquid if you press down REALLY hard, meaning it is not possible to fine or precise lines as it falsely claims. As a result my wings were less than their usual perfect and I started my night in a very bad mood.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from RUINED THE BEST EYELINER EVER I have used the master precious liquid eyeliner pen for years and years. I wear a cat eye every single day and it has been the best brush tip and formula ever until it changed recently. The top went from almost like a brush to a spongy but scratchy huge cone. It’s terrible and so hard to use and I consider myself an eyeliner expert. And to make it worse, the formula isn’t as black, is patchy and wears off by the afternoon. Worst decision ever and I read Maybellines replies that this was based on customer feedback which I cannot understand as this was the best most universally loved eyeliner on the internet so why would you ruin it?!?!?! Devastated.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from PLEASE go back to the original! I had found the perfect eyeliner when MAYBELLINE first released the "master precise liquid eye liner". I have used it for years and absolutely loved it. I also constantly got feedback from people on how prefect and delicate it looked. I recently purchased the newly released version and to my disappointment, its actually bad... The tip is different and it applies quiet poorly, you don't get the same even flow. Not sure why a good really good product had to change. Please go back to the old tip and formula!

It’s not precise, the tip is dry and doesn’t create a sharp line or wing, it’s not easy to use AT ALL. And the formulaaa whhhhyyyyyyy did you change it? It smudges in the corner of your eye over the day or if it gets bumped and is SO hard to remove! This new product is the absolutely worst. Lost a customer. Not interested in using the other eyeliner products otherwise I would have already been using them. Please put this product in the bin where it belongs and bring back the best eyeliner on the market!

The eyeliner melted and smudged like nothing I've seen before. Two hours into my day and I looked like I'd been punched in the face twice. It melted and smudged all around my eyes even though I only had it on my top lid. Ironically it was then somehow incredibly difficult to wash off, practically scrubbed my eyes raw.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from D-I-S-A-P-P-O-I-N-T-E-D I first noticed the original Master Precise Liner fading out a couple of months ago and decided to stock up on the old formula. But now after running out of the old liners, I was forced to purchase the new one which had me hopeful because a new formula could only get better, right? But boy was I wrong... the pen tip itself had me cringing from the start. It was dry, stiff and very difficult to handle. After multiple tries, I finally got it to work the way I wanted, but couple of hours into the wear, I experienced severe smudging which made my make up look horrible. I was stuck with black rings around my eyelids the whole day as I had assumed that it wouldnt have budged.. a very disappointing outcome. Maybelline, I really hope you fix this soon, because the way I’ve heard other people talk about this liner is doing you no favours.

I'm so disappointed. Have hunted high and low to try to stock up on the old version but can't find it anywhere. Please save me the search for a new eyeliner and just bring back the old one that was tried and true

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad decision to change a once great product I have been a long time user of this eyeliner. It WAS my holy grail eyeliner - it beat ALL the top end brands in my opinion. I would always recommend it. The recent change to packaging and product is horrible. Don’t waste your money, this is nothing like the previous formula, tip or packaging (the lid comes off easily in my makeup bag). Like other loyal fans, I am so disappointed with the new version - I immediately noticed the difference in one application. You will lose a lot of fans - listen to your feedback and bring back the old version.

I have been using this product since it came on the market many years ago and have recommended it to everyone. I work in a humid environment and this eyeliner was the only one that stayed put all day. It took me years to find one that would perform in the environment I work in. I have been using the new formula for 2 weeks and by noon it has faded and started to run everywhere, including into my eyes. I'm so disappointed with this product. I really don't understand why it has been changed...? Please take note of the recent reviews you have on your page because we are all saying the same thing. Bring back the old formula and flexible tip because this product does not work!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New design is THE WORST. This was my go-to eyeliner that I have been using faithfully for YEARS. When I went to purchase my latest replacement I noticed that the packaging had changed, but little did I know that the actual pen and formula itself has changed too. The new tip is made of a spongey material and is much thicker and longer than the old pen. This makes it hard to control and makes it impossible to draw the thin lines anymore. The sponge tip is also incredibly long and scrapes on the lid when you take it on and off. I've only used it once and already the sponge tip has frayed. Why fix something that isn't broken? I am so sad that my favourite eyeliner from all these years is now useless. Please change it back or else I'll be searching for a new brand of eyeliner to use.

They were an excellent product and a fantastic price. Last week I picked up one of the new ones and... ugh. It's changed for the worse. - The tip is dry. I can only get liquid out by lying the brush flat and dragging it across the back of my hand but it won't work precisely across my lid. The old one was amazing. You'd just swipe and go and people would ALWAYS comment on how good it looked. - The formula seems different but that might just be a result of the appallingly poor applicator. I have no idea why the product was changed but it's atrocious. I went online to look for similar reviews and that's how I ended up here. Save your money, folks and buy one of the other (unfortunately more expensive) brands. This WAS an excellent product. It is now useless. I threw it away.

The new tip makes it difficult to get that really nice, thin line and perfect wing. It's so dissapointing to now have to find a new brand of liner to use - this new design is horrible, definitely won't be buying again.

Purchased the new version a couple of days ago and can't emphasise enough what a let down it is. New tip is a sponge that doesn't allow for the "precise" application of the previous design and horrible formula. I purchased the forest brown colour which I do enjoy the appearance of, however, I'm not sure whether its because of the new sponge tip or a different formula but this does not seem to last nearly as long as the blackest black in the previous version. So disappointed by the loss of what I considered one of my holy grail products :(. Used to always recommend the previous version when asked but definitely wont recommend this one.

They've unfortunately changed it recently... the new version pen tip is thicker and less flexible and therefore much harder to use; I end up with a bulky line when I want a fine line for my day job. Very disappointing. Also to note, the eyeliner changes between countries e.g. NZ and Germany. The one in Germany was also useless.

Now the packaging and formula have changed and now it is the WORST liner I have ever tried to use. The tip is DRY, it doesnt come out on your lid but scrapes across your lid irritating it. The old tip was soft and inky and perfect, the new one is dry and useless. I just stocked up and bought 5 and now have to throw them all out and find a new brand. Would like a refund and explanation.

It dries out too quickly, smudges too easily but won't budge with a makeup remover. Bring back the old formula, it was great! It stayed put, didn't smudge or run and was a breeze to remove when needed. I'll be on the hunt for a new eyeliner.

It wears off after a couple of hours, weather wasn’t even hot.. went home and realised smudging under my eyes. A bit disappointed with this one but I do love their ‘hyper sharp wing’ black eye liner that stays on well

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dried out in the 1st use I have been a fans of your black master precise black eyeliner (old package) for almost 2 years. Now this forrest brown came out I am so excited. And it dried out in the 1st use. As it is so dried it make it very difficult to apply and smudge straight away. Don’t give diplomatic response and really fix the product because you aren’t turning loyal customers away!!! This is a complete fail, admit and improve please!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I'm always keen to try out new eyeliners and was pretty happy to receive this. Unfortunately, my happiness didn't last a day. I used this eyeliner for an outing with friends where we were going to watch a concert movie and while I was expecting some slight smudging under my eyes since I knew I would probably cry during the concert I wasn't expecting my eyeliner wings to have already smudged off before I had even arrived at the cinema. My eyelids are not oily and I was in an air-conditioned car for 45 minutes yet the eyeliner had already managed to transfer everywhere.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Used to be the best but have changed This used to be my go to eyeliner when I lived in Australia and when I moved to Canada. It was as good as some of the best in the market but 1/4 the price. Unfortunately they have changed the manufacturing of this product (you can tell by the font on the tube). It’s not a fine of a tip as it used to be, goes on less smooth and dries out in a week or two. Hugely disappointed they have changed and will be looking for a new go to. I even tried the new curvitude but has the same drying out issue.
