Rated 4 out of 5 by from Anti-ageing retinol alternative face oil I received a 20ml bottle of the the Glow Lab Age Renew Retinol Booster Oil as part of the Bh Natural Beauty Month trial box. I am a fan of many Glow Lab products and this is no exception. The face oil is packaged in a dark amber bottle with a dropper dispenser. It is thin and runny and almost clear in colour. It is not a greasy oil which is perfect for layering with serums and moisturisers. Admittedly this is the first time I've seen a retinol product which is neither a serum or a moisturiser. I should also clarify that the "retinol" in this product actually refers to bakuchiol which is becoming increasingly popular as a natural form of retinol (and less finicky). The form of bakuchiol (Sytenol A) used in this formula is claimed to reduce the depth of wrinkles by up to 31% after 12 weeks. I also assume this is based on day and night usage per the instructions on the box. I have been using this only as part of my night-time routine for the past two weeks (period of the trial) so it's too early to tell whether it's effective at reducing the appearance of wrinkles. It is easy to use and will continue to use as part of my skin care routine. As I have not had any skin reactions to it, I will also start to use in the morning as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Softer, smoother skin I am a big fan of Glow Lab products, as I generally find they are quite effective and pretty reasonably priced too. This Retinol Booster Oil has a concentrated formula that is very nourishing, moisturising and hydrating. It contains a natural ingredient, Bakuchiol, which is designed to work like Retinol. I therefore found this Booster Oil less irritating than many Retinol products I've used in the past. I apply a few drops of this oil to my clean face at night and it absorbs quite well into my dry skin. It has a natural herbal scent and hasn't caused any irritation at this stage. I find the sunflower oil is slightly heavy, therefore I don't need to use a lot of night cream or moisturiser on top. I haven't noticed any different to my skin tone or fine lines, but I find it smooths out my dehydration lines well and adds a healthy glow. I think this product would be ideal for more dry, mature skin types.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Glow Booster Oil I think I need to finally accept that I am aging and have signs of aging on my skin and I really need to address them and do something about them. I have used Glow’s facial moisturiser before and I really loved it, it was perhaps one of the best face lotions I have used so I have high expectations for this oil. This oil comes with a really easy to use dropper and I can easily get the product out. The oil smooths easily onto my skin and it instantly absorbed by my skin. It feels really nourishing and moisturising on my skin and I am ready for my moisturiser. I feel the oil has assisted in filling in the fine lines on my face but I suppose I really need to finish the entire bottle to know the long term impact on my skin. But so far, so good. This is a really nice facial oil.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Natural Beauty Month Box review I have always been curious about retinol because as I get older, I have been hearing about more and more women using it in their beauty regimes. Unfortunately retinol is one of those products that are unsafe while breastfeeding so I was pleasantly surprised that Glow Lab have created a natural alternative to retinol using Bakuchiol which is indeed safe to use while breastfeeding. A little goes a long way with this stuff, you only use 2-3 drops for your face and neck and it spreads relatively easily. In the couple of weeks that I’ve been using it, I haven’t noticed a difference really in my wrinkles looking smoother or anything, I feel I would need to use it for a bit longer (their packaging even states 12 weeks). But I have really enjoyed adding it to my skincare routine and will continue to trial it :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light Oil easily absorbed I was given the Glow Lab Age Renew Retinol Booster Oil in a Trial Box. I was also given another similar type of product to trial. I decided that I would use the Glow Lab Retinol Booster Oil on the right side of my face and the other product on the left. I used the Oil after cleaning my face at night and after my shower in the morning. It comes in a small bottle with a dropper. The product is a very light oil with a subtle floral (rose) fragrance. The instructions said to use 2-3 drops on hands and massage onto face using upwards strokes. As I was only using it on one side of my face I found that 2 drops was more than sufficient because it spread very easily and massaged in quite quickly. There was very little residue (mainly when I accidently used too much) and as long as I left it go a while there was not problem applying my makeup over it. I would not recommend trying to apply makeup straight away. I found it needed time to fully absorb. As far as whether I noticed any improvement in my skin, to be honest, not really, But, I was only using it for approx 2 weeks and I think with any of these types of products you need to use them for a couple of months to get the full benefit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Retinol I received this Glow Lab Age Renew® Retinol* Booster Oil as part of the Beauty Heaven Natural Beauty Month Trial box. I have never tried retinol before as I have sensitive skin but this retinol is gentle and a good introduction to retinol. For someone with young skin, retinol helps with redness and acne scars and I found that this retinol oil helped me with redness and acne scars. It is not heavily fragranced, there is only a light fragrance but is not overpowering. I really think this retinol serum is good for sensitive skin. It is helped with pigmentation. I highly recommend this serum, it is so good especially for sensitive skin even rosacea! Ingredients: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Coco-Caprylate, Dicaprylyl Ether, Pentaclethra Macroloba (Pracaxi) Seed Oil (BERACARE BBA™), Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil, Bakuchiol (Sytenol® A), Sclerocarya Birrea (Marula) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Pelargonium Roseum (Rose Geranium) Leaf Oil.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Retinol Alternative Oil Blend Glow Lab Age Renew Retinol Booster Oil was included in the 2021 Natural Beauty Month Trial box I received. It comes boxed and the 20ml Booster Oil is in an amber glass bottle and dispensed by the glass dropper. After cleansing and toning, I applied a few drops onto the palm of my hands and massaged onto my face using upward strokes and followed by my moisturiser. Serum is clear and lightweight, odourless and surprisingly blended into my skin without leaving a heavy residue. Initially for the first week I only used it at night time thinking the oil wouldn’t absorb readily, for daytime use, but after a week, I began using it morning and night. I was a bit confused at first - I thought I WAS using a retinol product, then realised it was a Retinol Booster Oil – so I’m not using a retinol product?? Oh right, it’s been formulated to mimic the effect of Retinol using Bakuchiol. So, what is this Bakuchiol? This plant-derived ingredient is popping up in everything from oils and serums to moisturisers and night creams. Bakuchiol is clinically proven to mimic the effects of Retinol. Bakuchiol is a vegan skincare ingredient found in the leaves and seeds of the Psoralea corylifolia plant. It is a potent antioxidant, visibly reduces skin discolourations from environmental exposure, and has a pronounced soothing effect on skin. In a nutshell, you get all the benefits (improves cell turnover and skin elasticity for a smoother, firmer complexion) without the irritating side effects associated with Retinol. It helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation – with Bakuchiol (Sytenol® A) clinically proven to reduce the depth of wrinkles by up to 31% after 12 weeks. Well, I’ve only been using the product for 2 weeks and have not seen any dramatic improvement to my skin – nor would I expect to. It does feel and leave my skin feeling lovely and soft and I’ve had no irritation and happy to continue it’s use for another 10 weeks to see if it's the "miracle oil" or simply another serum made of blended oils. Contains NO Parabens, Sulphates, Phthalates, Silicones, SLS, Cocamide DEA, Mineral Oil and No Animal Testing. Ingredients Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Coco-Caprylate, Dicaprylyl Ether, Pentaclethra Macroloba (Pracaxi) Seed Oil (BERACARE BBA™), Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil, Bakuchiol (Sytenol® A), Sclerocarya Birrea (Marula) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Pelargonium Roseum (Rose Geranium) Leaf Oil.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smoother, younger looking skin I have used a few different moisturisers from Glow Lab before and have loved all of them, so I was very excited to be trying the Age Renew Retinol Booster Oil as part of the Natural Beauty Month here at BH - thank you BH and Glow Lab for this opportunity. This booster oil contains a natural retinol alternative called Bakuchiol and is designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation. It is free from paraben, sulphates, silicons, SLS/SLES, synthetic dyes and mineral oil. It comes in a simple bottle with a pipette for easy and hygienic dispensing. The oil's consistency is what one would expect from a facial oil and as is the case with many oils, it does require a bit of time to absorb into the skin. As is the case with many retinol products, I prefer to introduce them into my night time skincare routine, so that is what I have done with this oil as well. Plus this allows for more time for it to be properly absorbed by my skin. I have found that it leaves my skin feeling hydrated, soft and refreshed. With longer use it may have a further effect on my fine lines as well. At any rate, I plan to continue using it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Glow for sure! This is a great product and I knew it from get go because all the products I’ve used so far from Glow Lab have been fabulous. The smell, the liquid and the actual end result is great. Comes in a wonderful white packaging box and has a beautiful bottle inside it. The bottle has a dropper which makes it perfect to take those few drops to moisturise your face as per the instructions on the packaging. The best part of this product is that it is made in New Zealand. Has all the goodness from the best part of the world and has no Parabens, sulphate, silicones, synthetic dyes, cocamide, mineral oil and best of all no animal testing. I used it alternatively with my moisturising treatment and it really had a noticeable affect on my skin. The smell of this product is 10/10 honestly. This product is fantastic as it does not have any nasty stuff in it it’s all natural and helps with anti ageing. Apply two to three drops on hands or fingertips and massage it on a clean face you can mix it or use your fingers to boost its anti ageing properties try not to have any contact with your eyes. I am a huge fan of this product and will be a future advocate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Retinal Boost I was super thankful for being apart of this year's Natural Beauty Event. Of the many products trialled was the retinol booster oil from Glow Lab. It was packaged in a cardboard box and inside with a glass bottle with a dropper. I've never used a natural retinal alternative before but I like the sound of it being able to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation. All the 3 worrying things about my skin! I found the oil quite thick, I normally apply it after cleansing and then moisturiser on top. What I did find was that it started to pill afterwards which is not a good sign. I've since applied it by itself at night to let my skin soak about the oil. My skin looks noticeably less pigmented which is a start. I'm sure the more I use it the better my skin will be!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helps to fight the visible signs of ageing I received this product to trial as part of the Natural Beauty Month. I have never used Retinol before so was excited to try this oil to see if it lived up to its claims of reducing the depth of wrinkles by up to 31% after 12 weeks of use. Comes in a 20ml glass bottle with and eyedropper. Contains a natural Retinol alternative called Bakuchiol. I have sensitive skin so as per directions I decided to use 2-3 drops nightly mixed into my night cream. Massaged into cleansed face using upward strokes. I have not have any adverse reaction which is great .As yet I have only been using the oil for 2 weeks and am pleasantly surprised that my skin looks brighter and feels smoother with more elasticity. It is too early for me to notice if it has reduced the appearance of fine lines or wrinkle depth. But I will persevere and keep using to see what the results will be after 12 weeks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Natural alternative I love all the Glow Lab products I have used so I was keen to try this one which I hadn’t used before. I didn’t realise until I read the packaging that the product doesn’t actually contain retinol which until researching now I didn’t know was synthetic. I like that this product uses Bakuchiol instead which is naturally derived. The serum itself has a soft scent which smells a bit like rosewater. Once a few drops are required to cover the whole face and it’s easy to apply. It does feel a little oily and leaves a soft sheen on the skin once absorbed, so may not be suitable for oilier skin types for daytime use. I have been using this at night-time before applying a night crème and also sometimes in the morning before an SPF moisturiser. I trialled this as part of Natural Beauty Month which also required me to use other facial products so it is hard to isolate the result of this product in a rather short trial period of two weeks. I think perhaps my skin looked a little smoother and more even, but I will need to continue trialling for a longer period before I know.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far, so good I was very curious about this natural retinol as I have very sensitive skin and can sometimes have a reaction to normal retinol serums. It comes in a small bottle with a dropper top and warning, it is very runny so be prepared when using it as the first time I did it just ran all over my hands. There is a very faint fragrance of Rose Geranium which I love as it’s one of my favourites, but this disappears almost instantly. It’s easy to apply and absorbs really fast. I love the finish it leaves on my skin - not oily at all, in fact quite a matte finish. I haven’t been using it for a long time due to the length of the trial, however since I’ve started my skin feels plumper and look brighter and a bit more even. I use it at night after cleansing (and a Vitamin C serum in the morning). I’ve had absolutely no bad reaction to it and I’ll continue to keep using it as I think the results will continue to show.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A non-oily skin boosting oil Don’t let the name oil trick you into thinking this is some oily formulation that will leave your skin feeling greasy. Instead, this Age Renew Retinol Booster Oil by Glow Lab is a pleasant surprise for your skin. The booster oil comes in a glad bottle with a dropper applicator, which makes it really easy to control portion. The booster oil itself is a clear yellowish liquid and doesn’t have much of a scent – a plus for me. Used to using rosehip oil, I thought this booster oil will be a bit of the same, in that it will feel slightly greasy initially, but once rubbed and absorbed into the skin, it will leave it feeling smooth and fresh. So what surprised me is just how light the formulation is. The first time I used it (two drops or so), it felt like the booster oil evaporated before it even touched my skin. Now, I use about three or so drops, and while it still doesn’t feel like I’m applying anything, I do know that I’ve rubbed the oil into my skin because of the way it feels and looks after. I tend to use this booster oil in the evening, after cleansing my face and before my night moisturiser. A few times, I’ve mixed the oil in with my moisturiser to apply together, and while that works fine, I feel it just creates unnecessary work and mess as I try to balance all the products and lids. The product is absorbed very quickly and well by my skin and there’s definitely no irritation nor greasy feel. In fact, it really feels like nothing at all. Best of all, my skin actually seems healthier and brighter as a result.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Glow Lab age renew great for aging skin The Age Renew booster oil with retinol made in New Zealand has very good properties to smooth and help skin especially age related problems. Fine lines and wrinkles are greatly diminished with this great retinol booster oil. Uneven skin tones and age spots appear greatly lessened after continued use. The product claims 31% decrease in wrinkle depth after twelve weeks. This is a good estimate of how well this product works. It boasts a naturally derived form of retinol from Bakuchiol and this does seem to have reduced irritating effects that some other forms of Retinol can have on very sensitive skins. The oil seems very gentle and delicate yet it does perform well to create a firmer and more luminous skin tone the effects of which are quite noticeable. The product has an absence of parabens, sulphates, silicones, synthetic dyes and above all has no animal testing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Hydrating Oil I was given the opportunity to trial the Glow Lab Age Renew Retinol Booster Oil as part of the Natural Beauty Month Trial. This delicate oil blend improves cell turnover and skin elasticity for smother and firmer skin. The "retinol" in the bottle is actually Bakuchiol, which is actually NOT retinol. It is a very good product to introduce in your skincare before introducing retinols as they can be a bit harsh to the skin but this oil feels so natural and provide amazing hydration to the skin. The oil absorbs quickly as i use 1-2 drops work well for me which does not make the face look greasy or heavy. With this oil you have to use twice a day for best effects, but i have started with introducing once and i can still feel my skin very soft and hydrated. I cant see my fine lines disappearing but definitely can feel my skin more brighter and hydrated.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Glow Lab Age Renew I got the Glow Lab Age Renew Retinol Booster Oil in the trial box. The "retinol" in the bottle is actually Bakuchiol, which is actually NOT retinol. If you are looking for proper retinol, this is not it. This is a natural alternative that is plant derived. While research says that Bakuchiol's effect is comparable, it's not exactly retinol. The oil is mainly sunflower oil, there is no fragrance added into the mix. The smell itself is not great, but I don't mind. The oil does not absorb as quickly as cream or serum, the direction does say massage using upward strokes. 1-2 drops work well for me. With the oil, you have to use twice a day for best effects, which is what the studies did to compare. So far, I think my forehead wrinkles are looking a little better, not as deep. Sometimes I mix the oil in my cream so I don't have to deal with the oiliness, that seems to help too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for dry skins Thank you to the BH team for sending me this product to trial. This is an anti-ageing oil made with a variety of natural oils that aim to reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles and general signs of ageing. I have dry sensitive skin and now that I'm in my 30s I have noticed my skin gradually get drier and fine lines have appeared as well. The oil comes in a easy to use dropper bottle.I used this after cleansing and I noticed that my skin immediately felt more hydrated, smoother and more glowy. I have not noticed permanent improvements in my skin just yet, but I am happy with the improved hydration levels in my skin which has in turn, reduced the appearance of fine lines. The scent is mildly herbal- non irritating and non offensive. I think I will be continuing to use this product over the next few months to see if there are any changes with pigmentation and skin elasticity.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A natural alternative to Retinol I received Glow Lab Age Renew Retinol Booster Oil as part of the Beauty Heaven Natural Beauty Month Trial Box team. The oil is packaged in a 20ml dark glass bottle with a dropper for easy application of the oil. The oil can be used twice a day morning and night after cleansing. It can be used by itself or mixed with a moisturiser. I used this on its own. It is meant to reduce the appearance of wrinkes, pigmentation and fine lines. As I'm nearly 50 and pigmentation and uneven skin tone are one of my main skin concerns, I was excited to use a product containing a natural alternative to Retinol, Bakuchiol. The oil was easily absorbed into my skin and was non greasy, It left my skin feeling soft, smooth and hydrated and made my skin look clearer and brighter. This product doesn't contain any parabens, sulfates, silicones, SLS/SLES, mineral oils and is not tested on animals. It is dermatologically tested and is cruelty free, vegan and is made in New Zealand. The packaging is recyclable. The product is best used within 6 months after opening.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this product I received this as a apart of natural beauty month trial box. I've had this for about two weeks now. I haven't seen too many results yet .This contains natural retinol alternative. As retinol takes a time to really start showing results, I hope this might be the same. How ever I haven't had any irritation from the product despite using it every night as part of my skin care regime. I have dry-normal skin and this oil sinks in beautifully. Doesn't leave me greasy at all just glows, and it feels very light on my skin. I use 2-3 drops into my cleansed face at a time. I don't feel I need additional moisturizer on top this at night. I feel this retinol booster oil is hydrating enough, I can leave it as the final step in my routine. I instantly feel soft and smooth skin. I love the feeling on my face it leaves in the morning. This booster oil comes with 20 ml small bottle with squeezable knob. The knob squeezer works perfectly to get oil out of the bottle. I found this booster oil has very calming smell. I'm definitely going to pay a bit more and get something that feels better on my skin. I would recommend this retinol booster oil for any one who wants improve skin firmness for younger healthier looking skin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Convenient bottle Thanks beauty heaven for allowing me to trial the beauty box such amazing things inside. I have been using the glow booster oil now for 2 weeks and I have combination skin. I use two to three drops as recommended and use after cleansed skin morning and night. I have seen an improvement I didn't have wrinkles as such I am 40 but have noticed my skin feel more subtle and smooth and have found my skin def looks different and doesn't make my skin break out due to it being an oil which is a major bonus for me. I like the fact it is cruelty free the only thing I would.like more info on is if it does contain palm oil. As I know some glow products do. This price is also reasonable and definitely affordable. I will definitely be purchasing again. Which is great to try this first

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Greaseless oil suitable day or night Thank you BH for this trial and first time user of this product. I am happily surprised by this oil as normally it is unsuitable for me for some reason . This is the first time I've used any Retinol ( Vit A ) and pleased it is natural ingredients ( top notes Sunflower seed oil ) as too scared to try the clinical one. It comes in a good size tinted dropper bottle clearly labelled with a mild scent very pleasant to the nose. I firsted tested this in the evenings ( ICW Essano brightening oil which is part of the same trial ) on my face and neck area as I can't use oil during the day due to the greasiness and was very surprised it is actually greaseless and felt very smooth on my skin. Normally it sits on top and then feel horrible but this one is very absorbent and actually feel good for once. After a couple of days my skin felt smooth, soft and weightless. Lines are normally on my neck and it felt much smoother than usual. After being confident about this I applied it on its own in the morning and no greaseface !! I think this oil is suitable for all skin types and can use on its own or as a boost under your face cream or lotion . A high quality oil from this brand .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not sure Thank you bh for allowing me to trial this product as part of Natural Beauty Month. I have mixed thoughts - first of all, there doesn't appear to be any sort of offensive fragrance which I like as I prefer my products to be free of artificial fragrances. It comes in a small bottle with a dripper and hence it is easy to apply. However, I find that this doesn't absorb into my skin super well and leaves my skin feeling really oily. I have tried applying both under and over my moisturiser and have found that it unfortunately reacts with my moisturiser and causes it to pill dramatically which is frustrating. I haven't particularly noticed any benefits from this just yet, but I do know that retinol can take a few months to do anything noticeable to the skin - I'm not sure if the same applies to alternatives. Overall though, I will finish this off but will probably return to my usual retinol products afterwards.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for me I received the Age Renew Retinol Booster Oil in the Beauty Heaven Natural Beauty Month trial box. The Retinol Booster Oil has a great fragrance which makes it very pleasant to use. This oil can be used alone or mixed in with your usual moisturiser, which I think is a great idea. When used alone, I found the booster oil left my skin feeling a a bit greasy. However when I mixed it in with my moisturiser, the oil seemed to absorb much more easily and my skin felt less oily than it did compared to when I applied the oil alone prior to my moisturiser. I wouldn’t recommend this product for anyone with combination or oily skin. As I was already using a retinol product prior to this trial, it is difficult to gauge how effective the Booster Oil is. My skin has been breaking out after I switched products however since I only had two weeks to test the product, it’s difficult to say whether or not the break outs are caused by my skin purging or the product itself.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Promising results Generally speaking I like Glow Lab products, they’re well priced, cruelty free and made from natural products.I was happy to have the Glow Lab Age Renew Retinol Booster Oil, in the Beauty Heaven Natural Beauty Month Trial Box. I’m not usually a fan of “oils” they can be too heavy and greasy, but I’ve been using this as part of my daily routine, following the instructions and watching closely for results. Medical style pipette helps keep to the right dose with minimal waste. Priced at RRP$35 it’s reasonable but not cheap. Daily routine morning and night, incorporate this new serum which is designed to deliver more even-toned and more youthful looking skin. The product is supposed to mimic retinol without being as aggressive and without the side effects. It has a new ingredient . Bakuchiol that reduces pores, minimises fine lines, wrinkles, and helps to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation. They combine it with Co-enzyme Q10 and together they offer cell protection.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Sure Yet I received the Glow Lab Age Renew Retinol Booster Oil as a part of the Beauty Heaven trial team for Natural Beauty Month The oil comes in a 20ml tinted bottle with a dropper, the oil is light in colour and smells light and fresh. I use the oil at night after my usual cleaning routine and after my essence, I found 2 drops was enough for my whole face, and I pat the oil in to help it absorb, it left my skin quite oily so I only used it at night. I tried mixing one drop of the oil with my moisturiser and I found I prefer this method as it left my skin nicely hydrated without the oiliness. After using for about a week, I haven't seen much of a difference in my fine lines so I will need to continue to use for a while to see any results

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A definite maybe I really appreciate the opportunity to test this product as part of Natural Beauty Month, however feel that just over two weeks is not enough to judge its efficacy* so can only comment on its immediate feel on the skin, etc. Certainly in the two weeks I was trialling it I didn’t see any noticeable changes in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation or elasticity, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that over a longer period it wouldn’t deliver on this promise. I have very sensitive skin on my face and had no reaction to this oil, so while that’s no guarantee for others with sensitivity it’s certainly a promising sign. It has a faint floral scent that dissipates fairly quickly. The oil absorbs relatively quickly into the skin, probably about 15 minutes or so, and the skin feels quite smooth once it has absorbed. I feel the marketing/positioning of this product is a bit misleading in its use of Retinol in the product name. It includes an asterisk that then goes on to explain that it doesn’t contain Retinol, but a natural alternative called Bakuchiol, but I feel that it puts too much onus on the consumer to read the ‘fine print’ to make an informed decision. I feel that Bakuchiol should be in the product name and any asterisk would then guide people to the explanation that that is a natural alternative to Retinol. I know this means more education is needed to inform consumers of what this ingredient is, but that’s what happens with any ‘new’ ingredient and feels like a more honest way to sell this product. * this BH article suggests around 28 days is a reasonable timeframe to determine if skincare is working: https://www.beautyheaven.com.au/skin-care/cleansers-washes/how-long-skin...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Retinol Alternative for sensitive skin I received this product as part of a trial by beautyheaven and I was excited to try the naturally derived alternative to retinol, as sometimes I do get irritation from retinol products. This product claims to be clinically proven to mimic the effects of Retinol, and "reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation after 12 weeks". The oil is light textured, and blends nicely into the skin . It was not greasy and had a light scent. I also found that it did hydrate my skin quite well. I did not have 12 weeks to trial this product, so I did not see immediate results. Even though I didn't see any fast results, it did sit nicely on my skin and gave my skin a lovely glow. I think this product would be a good addition a few times a week to your regular skin care regime. Being a natural product is definitely a bonus as well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Seems ok but still on the fence... I have used retinol products in the past with not a huge amount of success, mainly because I never could see or feel the difference that was advertised on the product. So when I got the chance to try Glow Lab's booster oil I was excited as the product contained naturally derived ingredients which I'm a big believer in. First off, the bottle was pretty standard, just a dropper top but the cap was sealed which was nice. The oil itself wasn't too oily funnily enough, it was a lot lighter than expected, and didn't have a heavy scent which was also good. Following the instructions, I applied about 3 drops using upward strokes, but found it didn't absorb as much as I had hoped, it kind of just sat on my skin. After applying moisturiser it was better, but I think next time I might mix it with my moisturiser to see if it absorbs easier. Overall the oil didn't wow me, but then again it says it may take 12 weeks for visible results? Will still keep trying it though and see if it works.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good hydration but no change in my skin's appearance Thank you very much to Beauty Heaven and Glow Lab for the opportunity to trial the Age Renew Retinol Booster Oil as part of Natural Beauty Month. As a 65 year old whose face is showing her age, I am keen to try out any product that will reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation. I have only used one other product from the Glow Lab range (the Soothing Day Cream, which I loved), so I was looking forward to further exploring this brand. The booster oil is packaged in a dark brown, glass bottle with a dropper dispenser for the 20ml contents. I liked the use of dark glass to protect the ingredients from degrading due to light. The dropper made it easy to control how much oil I used. The ingredients list included a number of nourishing oils, such as sunflower seed oil, Pracaxi seed oil, Rosehip seed oil, Marula seed oil, and Rose Geranium leaf oil. It also included Bakuchiol, which is derived from the Babchi herb and has both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It is a natural alternative to retinol, which is known to cause irritation of skin in some people. The instructions were easy to follow. Apply 2 – 3 drops to hands and massage into cleansed face using upward strokes. Use morning and night. Avoid contact with eyes. I actually found I needed four drops to cover my face but this wasn’t a problem. You can use this oil on its own, or mix it into a moisturizer. For the purposes of this trial, I used it on its own. The claims for this product are impressive but not completely consistent. On the front of the box it says, “reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation”. On the rear it says, “Bakuchiol has been clinically proven to reduce the depth of wrinkles by up to 31% after 12 weeks.” So in the first claim, only the appearance of the wrinkles change. In the second, the actual depth of the wrinkles is altered. Since we didn’t have 12 weeks for this trial, I simply looked at the appearance of my face. The booster oil has a light-weight, flowy consistency and a yellow colour. It smooths easily onto the face and is absorbed readily. It has a pleasant, mild, sweet fruity scent which fades quickly. I found the oil was completely non-irritating to my skin. After applying the oil, my skin immediately felt softer. However, I could not see any immediate change to the appearance of my skin. Nor did I see any change over the days (about a week) that I used it. My skin was not firmer or smoother, the wrinkles and sunspots did not change appearance. So while this oil did contribute to my skin’s hydration, it did little else. As I said above, the appearance of my skin may take time to change, and I will persevere, but at this stage I have nothing to report. I was happy that my sensitive skin was not irritated and that my face felt soft and hydrated. But I’d probably use a simple moisturizer for that effect.
