Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bouncy curls for days [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I actually really enjoyed this product. I used it as the leave-in conditioner and as a mask and I liked them both. I was hesitant to use a mask product as a leave-in conditioner because I thought it would make my hair stringy and look oily but it absorbed very quickly and did not give that effect at all. I have very fine virgin hair so a lot of products don't always work on me, but I found that this gave my curls a nice bounce without weighing them down. Definitely will re-purchase when I run out. I also love the Garnier is now cruelty-free and working towards being more natural. My only criticism, and the reason it's only a four-star, is that the smell is very artificial and very strong to the point that I can smell it in my bathroom when the lid is on, but honestly, worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smells delicious! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Garnier Fructis Hair Food Watermelon Treatment is a great product. I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks and have been able to see a huge difference in the quality of my hair. I’ve noticed that it’s a lot healthier, smoother and smells amazing! I get lots of comments about the smell of my hair and people ask me what product I’m using. I love the fact that you can use this product three different ways- as a mask, as a conditioner or as a leave in treatment. I will definitely keep using this product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from LOVE IT! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved this product! I have used the papaya scent as well and love both! I used the hair food product as conditioner after shampooing and left it in as a mask for a few minutes before washing it out. It left my hair feeling very soft and detangled! It also left my hair spelling beautiful! I love the watermelon scent. It would be suitable for people with dry or damaged hair as it is extremely nourishing! It is a very good price for the amount of product you get within the tub and quite cheap for the great quality of the product. I have quite long and curly hair so it gets quite knotty but I only used quite a small amount when I used it as conditioner and it worked well. Will be using it again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Watermelon goodness [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After recently trialing the companion garnier hair food watermelon shampoo and conditioner, and really enjoying them, I was excited to get the chance to give this Garnier Fructis Hair Food Watermelon Treatment a go. I LOVE the fact, like this others, this product is also almost completely all natural-97% to be exact- and that the packaging gives you a breakdown on where the ingredients are sourced so I don’t have to worry about all those unknown chemicals I’m putting on my hair. About the product itself, the first thing I noticed was the delicious scent, which stayed on my hair even after it had been washed out. It also has a lovely smooth creamy texture to it, albeit a bit messy and awkward to get it out the tub to apply. While I’ve trialled this as a stand alone conditioner and leave in conditioner, I’ve mainly used it as a hair mask a couple of times a week. I can’t say though I’ve seen radical changes in my hair since I’ve started using this but maybe this will come with time. I can say my hair seems smoother and softer after use although still lacks the volume it promises. Overall I’m enjoying this product and will continue using at least until my current container is empty to see if it does improve over time. I’ve also gone and purchased the other available Garnier Hair Food Treatments so see if one of those is a better match for my hair. Will this become part of my permanent hair care routine? I’m still undecided but optimistic so if your considering purchasing I would encourage you to give it a go.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smooth thick Hair! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using Garnier's similar product Banana hair Foods Treatment I was happy to try this as I love the way it leaves my hair. I didn't love the smell of the watermelon, it seemed very fake and not natural considering it is "97% origin". However I love the texture and how many ways you can use this product. I use the banana and watermellon treatment as a mask on a regular basis as my fine hair can get very dry. I find that it leaves my hair so smooth and thick for days at a time with the volume I like. I also love the products are vegan biodegradable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great smell [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first opened it, the smell was amazing. Smelts like watermelon lollipops. The container design was great and catchy. I used it in the shower after my shampoo. I didn't put any conditioner in my hair after my shampoo, I just applied the Watermelon Treatment. After leaving it for a few mins I washed it wash, then out out to dry my hair. My hair smelt great, felt so smooth and soft, but I did notice it made it more oily than normally. On the tub it says volumising . I was expecting my fair to be more fluffy and flat. but overall for a treatment to make your hair more soft on days your hair is dry as sand then its great. Great smell I would recommend it for sure!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great smell I tried this out with high expectations because of the reviews on the banana flavour, but was not impressed. Other than the smell (which is absolutely scrumptious) I didn't find any long lasting moisture in my hair. I used a larder amount than the directions suggested - as a ten cent piece was not cutting it - and coated my ends in that, but still the hydration was gone within 2 hours, and my hair was being weighed down. The smell didn't last either, so I was thoroughly unimpressed with this. Wouldn't recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not great Gave this one a go after using the banana one and enjoying it. I found the watermelon variety underwhelming. The smell was sickly sweet and definitely that fake watermelon smell so I didn't enjoy that. Putting aside the smell, I used the full amount over a few weeks and didn't feel that my hair had any more volume and my hair was quite dry. I definitely wouldn't purchase this product again. However, if you had really oily hair, this might be a good option. Branding is great like always, bright, fun colourful on the shelf

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice hair treatment but strong smell I bought this in the Rewards Room to help improve my shoulder length dry coloured hair. Garnier Fructis is a well known range - my husband used it for years before switching to Dove. Garnier is a L’Oreal brand and this product is made in Germany, it is cruelty free. This hair food comes in a good sized 390ml plastic tub which should last a long time depending on how often and how much you use. It has a screw on lid, so nice and secure for travelling or if you knock the pot over. It is a thick white lotion with a very strong smell, it’s not unpleasant but if you are sensitive then you may found it overpowering. I put it on damp hair before bed one night and with my hair being close to my nose on the pillow I found it way too strong and it actually made me feel a bit sick. I checked outside because I thought someone was using glue. So it’s definitely not a natural watermelon smell. You can use it in 3 ways - conditioner, mask (for one minute on wet hair then rinse) or a leave in on wet or dry hair (ends and lengths). I have been using it as a leave in on both wet and dry hair. It isn’t sticky and doesn’t leave any noticeable residue on my hair. It doesn’t weigh it down and leaves it nice and soft although I haven’t noticed any extra volume or bounce. I don’t notice the smell unless I use it as mentioned before. For the price point it is pretty good although I think if you can afford it there are better options available. I would recommend you give it a try but check the smell first if you can. I will try it the other two ways and may find it works really well, especially as a conditioner, in which case I will edit my review accordingly

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK I love the versatility of this mask - it can be used as a leave in mask, a treatment or as a normal conditioner. I found it a little too heavy for my fine hair when used as a leave in, but as a treatment or conditoner it soften my hair and made it more manageable. Unfortunately the smell is very strong and is a very fake watermelon scent that I find really unpleasant.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works, but too much fragrance! I picked this one up in my rewards room order as I have had great experience with some of the other hair food products in the past. It can be used as a mask, conditioner or as a leave in treatment for the ends of the hair. I like to use it as a mask while in the shower. My hair did feel hydrated and soft within the day following using it, however the scent was rather strong. After closer inspection, I found that it contains fragrance/parfum which appears to be the only unnatural ingredient. Personally I find the scent of the product to be its letdown, but it does seem to work nicely on the hair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Smell incredible [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This smells incredible! It's quite a strong fruity watermelon scent when I use it and it leaves a subtle smell to my hair the few days after I've washed it. I used it as a conditioner. I left it in my hair for a few minutes after shampooing and then washed it out. The product is quite thick and a little goes a long way which is great. It felt nice and made my hair feel smooth as I was washing it, but after my hair gets quite dry and tangles really easily, so I don't think it is doing a lot for my hair's health. I usually use 100% natural products, so the fact this is mostly natural products is great! Garnier is taking a step in the right direction.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I was excited to try I was excited to try this Watermelon scented Hair Food. The smell is not what I was expecting, it is not my cup of tea. I love the feeling of my hair after using this as a hair mask thigh, so I will tolerate the scent. I also used it as leave in after conditioning as my hair can get frizzy. This Hair Food helps.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It is good [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product is average, the smell is amazing, and the package is cute, but I did not see a lot of difference comparing to normal conditioners. I have used after shampooing because of lack of time to do it, so that might have affected the results, as maybe using as a mask the results are better. The texture is good, and the smell is amazing, so even if the result is not very different at least your hair is going to smell really nice. I didn't see much difference to other products in the market, but overall is good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hydrates the hair Garnier fructis volumising watermelon hair food is a good mask for hydrating the hair. Its 97% natural. I used this as a mask applied to the hair after shampoo and left it on for 1 minute. It left my hair soft and smooth. It can also be used as a leave in product or as a conditioner. Its made in Germany. It doesn't contain any silicones or parabens.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great value for money [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Fructus watermelon hair food ultimately does its job. It’s a three in one product that works as either a leave in treatment, mask and conditioner and comes in a huge container which is great value for the price! I’ve tried all three ways and for someone with quite fine, bleached/damaged hair that often gets greasy quite quickly... my hair took well to the product! My favourite way to use this product is by doing a mask once a week, I found my hair softer, silky, visibly thicker and with less fly aways/visible broken ends. I also found that it didn’t sit too heavy in my hair which some similar products can do to my fine hair after a day or two. I didn’t find this product absolutely ground breaking, but I did like it, and would recommend it for anyone that’s looking to try to replenish their hair without spending a fortune! It smells incredible and I really appreciate the value for money and love that it’s vegan, cruelty free and derived from 97% natural ingredients!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good value [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product smells divine! I’m addicted to the scent alone. I trialled using this as a leave in, mask and conditioner. I believe the best use is as a mask. It did leave my hair feeling smooth and soft however I don’t think it is moisturising enough as a conditioner, especially for dry, colour treated or heat damaged hair. I also think it was a little too heavy for a leave in for thin hair. I did not noticed any change in volume for my hair. Would recommend it as an affordable good value product (great product size) however I think there are better products out there.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the scent, not for my fine hair [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I read all the amazing reviews and I wish it worked that great for me as well. I love the smell, the size of the tub but unfortunately it does male my hair look greasy after only 12hrs after using it! No matter if I use it as a conditioner or as a mask. Immediately after use the hair does look sleeker and shiny but half a day later it just looks like a greasy mess. I have very fine hair and have been struggling with some postpartum hair loss so that could also influence it and that’s why I’m giving it 3 stars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice, but not for my fine hair. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After already trialling the shampoo and conditioner that is part of this range, I was looking forward to trying this product. The smell is lovely and makes using the mask a nice experience. I have fine hair so I’m pretty hesitant to use hair masks as they usually leave my hair pretty oily. This mask left my hair feeling soft and smelling lovely, however, my hair got oily pretty quick. I appreciate the versatility of this product and decided to use it purely as a conditioner. Overall, I liked this product but as I have quite fine hair and this mask ended up making my hair oilier, I would not repurchase this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Underwhelming but not bad [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Underwhelming after falling in love with the shampoo and conditioner in the watermelon range. I have previously used the banana mask from Garnier and I found that this watermelon mask lacked the nourishment I need and expect from a mask or leave in conditioner and didn’t add my volume or body to my hair like the standard conditioner from the range does. I tried it as a conditioner, a mask and a leave in product. I wouldn’t purchase to use as a conditioner, the standard watermelon conditioner is better. I wouldn’t purchase as a mask as there are other more moisturising masks out there. I would however purchase as a leave in product. I unite liked it applied to my ends as it dried soft and left my hair quite light but shiny and smooth.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Affordable hair treatment with a wonderful smell [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was lucky enough to receive this for a trial and has been using it 3-4 times a week for about 3 weeks now. I have used it as a hair conditioner and mask but not as a leave-in. The mask has a soft creamy texture and smells wonderful (like watermelon lollies). I have thin fine hair and my hair does feel soft and smooth instantly after each use, however I didn’t find it add much volume to my hair as the product claimed. I would say the result is comparable to other hair products of the same price range I have used before. Overall, a pretty good hair conditioner and mask that doesn’t cost a fortune.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Smells like watermelon – that’s about it [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think the 3 in 1 feature is a little confusing – the conditioner and hair mask work effectively however I did find that my hair wasn’t as smooth as when using my normal conditioner. I also didn’t find that it was very effective in giving me more volume. In terms of the smell I can see how some people would like it but I personally found it really overpowering and almost a fake watermelon smell. Personally I wouldn’t purchase it myself but I do think that maybe for people who had thick, curly hair this would be a suitable product. Plus the size of the product is very generous so I do feel as though its good value.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Smells great [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sent this Watermelon hair food mask which is touted to have 3 different uses (mask, conditioner, leave in). My hair gets quite oily as the day goes along so I must admit I did not use it as a leave-in treatment. As a hair mask and conditioner, it does an ok job. My hair did feel reasonably soft after use but I did not feel it was outstandingly better than other conditioners I have used in the past. It's a nice idea that it has 3 uses but I'm not too convinced that it is particularly effective in it's different uses. I did like the idea that it is 97% natural origin and vegan. It also helps the treatment has a delicious watermelon smell and leaves a nice scent to your hair after use. This treatment claims to be volumising but I did not find much of a difference in volume after using it unfortunately. I would still recommend this as a basic hair treatment/mask especially if you like watermelon scented products. However, I wouldn't be calling it a miracle product by any means.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent quality conditioning treatment [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Garner Fructis Watermelon Hair Food smells amazing, as you’d expect from the description on the tub. The formula is creamy but not too heavy, and spreads easily through the hair. Once rinsed out the smells dissipates but my hair is left feeling hydrated and smoothed, and without feeling and looking weighed down. I didn’t really notice any volumising results as promised, but my hair did feel better for using it. The size of the tub is huge— especially for the super affordable price. I’ve been using it every other day for a couple of weeks now and I’m not even close seeing the bottom. I found that if I added a little extra to my hair as a leave in treatment that it did become a little greasy. I tried the smallest amount but then didn’t notice any difference when dried. I prefer just to use this as a standard conditioner. This Watermelon Hair Food conditioner is marketed at a 3-in-1 (conditioner, mask and leave in treatment) which can be a bit misleading as it is ultimately a conditioner. The leave-in aspect is neither here nor there as this could be said about any conditioner. All conditioners can be used as a mask, so I find this detail unnecessary. To summarise, I love the way it smells and the way my hair feels afterwards. It’s good for a moisturising conditioner, that doesn’t create tangles in my hair. My fine hair isn’t lank and limp afterwards, but instead looks healthy and glossy. I wouldn’t buy it for the voluminsing promises alone, but would repurchase if I need a good quality, deeply hydrating conditioner for an affordable price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the smell! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I often find tubs quite annoying to use because I don’t have a lot of space in the shower, however I understand that it’s not necessarily the same as a normal conditioner. I used this more as a treatment after shampoo and conditioner, but I would also use this on a weekly basis as a conditioner. I probably wouldn’t really use it as a leave in because it would make my hair too greasy. I love love LOVE the smell of this product, the watermelon smell actually stayed in my hair for the next 2/3 days after washing, which I liked. Price wise, the pot itself is quite big so it’s excellent bang for your buck! I didn’t really notice any difference with my hairs volume, however I do love that it’s 97% natural, vegan and biodegradable. I probably would have rated this product higher, but it didn’t necessarily do what it said it would by making my hair more ‘voluminous’. I would probably only recommend the hair food as a treatment and for the smell.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good as mask or leave in conditioner [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Firstly, it's a big tub of product, so definitely value for honey. The smell is also refreshing and pleasant smelling, and true to its advertised "watermelon" hair food. The consistency is similar to regular conditioners or just a tad thicker. I preferred using it as a leave in rather than the advertised 3-in-1 way of just using it as a conditioner after washing my hair. As a conditioner, I felt like it didn't make a significant difference, whereas after using it as a leave in, my hair was very soft and nourished. My hair was noticeably smoother, softer, detangled and I liked that it was mostly made from natural ingredients. I tend to have sensitive skin and normally react to even products that are deisgned for "sensitive skin" however I didn't have a problem with this product. I did not find that it improved the volume of my hair after using it. It didn't cause any staining to clothing/bedding after using it as a leave in. I will continue to use this product until it is finished, however I am not sure that I would repurchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a great texture or smell but there was volume! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought it was strange that there wasn't a freshness kind of seal when I first opened it like most other products. The packaging looks and feels budget but the lid fastens tightly which is important. The texture and smell of this product made me want to gag - very similar to yoghurt - not my cup of tea. I used this product all over my hair as a treatment after I shampooed and conditioned it. I left it in my hair for about a minute before rinsing. I have super thin hair and definitely noticed volume! The volume probably only lasted a day though.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great smell, okay product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all, the smell of this product is amazing. It reminds me of other watermelon beauty products on the market. As soon as you open the lid, you get this watermelon scent. As for the product, it's okay, but I wouldn't say it's anything life changing. I first tried it as a conditioner and my hair just didn't feel as soft as what other conditioners make my hair feel. I like my hair to feel really silky and smooth once I've washed out the product. Next time I tried it as a wash out mask after using my normal conditioner and it definitely felt a lot better and I got my desired result. After that, I tried again as just a conditioner but I used a substantial amount of product. This time it felt a lot better than my first use, but I did feel like I was wasting the product. In conclusion, I think this product is a good mask but not a stand alone conditioning product. I will comtiniue to use this up as a mask with my existing conditioner.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Should be marketed as simply a leave in! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love the scent of this product, it is reminiscent of watermelon candy. The tub is very large and you get plenty of bang for your buck. The 'three in one' uses of this product seems unnecessary and only serves to makes the product a tad confusing. As a conditioner and a mask, this product is simply ok. Nothing bad but not something I would reach for. However, this product is absolutely amazing as a leave-in conditioner. I have dry hair from bleaching and colouring and this made my hair feel so much better when used as a leave-in. I brushed it through and it worked great for detangling and left my hair feeling so much smoother. It gave my hair a nice sweet, fresh scent that wasn't overly strong. However, I didn't experience any added volume and didn't notice much extra bounce. I didn't notice any negative reactions to the product and I would have rated it 5 stars if it was marketed as just a smoothing and repairing leave-in.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't do what it claims [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm instantly a fan of anything watermelon scented so I was very excited to give this a try. I really like that it's 97% of natural origin and the generous sized jar of product. With the formula being targeted at fine hair, it was perfect for me as I have zero volume. I've used it all 3 ways and my preferred way would have to be as a leave-in conditioner. My lengths smell amazing and it leaves my hair feeling much softer and smoother. The only downside (which is the whole purpose of this mask) is that it doesn't give me any volume whatsoever. Quite disappointed by that, but I'll still continue to use it. I wouldn't recommend it for volumising, however if you love watermelon and require smoother hair, then that it does.
