A quality and consistent product that makes for a great entry level serum. Super hydrating and doesn't feel heavy or greasy on the skin. Absorbs nicely when paired with the other Swisse night products. Is lovely and light and good for sensitive skin. I found my skin felt plump and hydrated the morning after using the serum. I found the scent quite light and not overwhelming. Over all would definitely recommend this one as a basic serum to have on your beauty shelf.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reccomended Retinol [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Swisse Bio-Retinol was received, packaging the standard Swisse styling, nothing fancy. The pump itself easy and functional with enough product being distributed with a pump for the face and 2nd for the neck and chest. Huge tip do not forget your neck and chest! I generally use a retinol in my beauty night process, so was great to compare this product with previous ones. The standout for Swisse is the texture isn't think or sticky perfect for layering out products. The results were very similar to other retinols however my skin didn’t seem to dry out with the swisse product which is a huge bonus. It may have contributed to the night cream in which was the following step which had a cream consistency which made the application of the two together easier, and didn’t feel like I was wiping off the retinol by applying the cream. The two sat nicely on top of one another. The twice weekly mask was also trialled with the two previously mentioned Swisse products, I felt this thickness of application of products on MY skin was a bit much and felt sticky heading to bed in it. The next morning I did also feel the residue wash off my face and did absorb as well as just the two retinol & night cream. All in all I would highly suggest the Retinol and Night cream for an everyday night routine!

I also have pigmentation and it made its appearance lighter. the texture of this is also very smooth and very easy to absorb in my skin. it was very hydrating, this was great as my skin can be very oily at times so my skin was not left looking very wet and oily. the product also made the dry parts of my face really smooth and I was left with a brighter smother and overall nicer. I've also noticed changes to a lot of my wrinkles as it has made them not as visible whilst still being there

I found that it was easy to apply, but did feel slightly sticky after applying which meant you need to wait before applying any other products. While I defintely found that it gave my skin added mositure and a smooth finish I do not believe it had much impact on my fine lines and uneven skin tone. I did enjoy that I was able to use it each day and it was not harsh or drying on my skin as some other retinol serums can be.

It has a light pleasant scent that is not overpowering. It has a nice light texture and is absorbed quickly into the skin. I have noticed it definitely helped improve my skin hydration and improve the smoothness of my skin texture. I did not notice any significant difference to my fine lines or dark spots. Overall, I enjoyed using it and will continue to use it for the hydration and texture improvements to my skin. It's a good alternative to a retinol serum as it contains a natural alternative bakuchiol.

The packaging feels quite luxe being that it's in a glass bottle and its easy to apply using the pump. When applying, a little bit goes a long way and I can see this product lasting a long time. I like that is it part of a bigger range that can be used together to create a simple but effective skin care routine. My skin is on the dry side and I found that it was definitely more hydrated when I used it regularly. I applied both morning and night, followed by either by a moisturise and make up in the morning or the Swisse Bio-Retinol Renewing Night Cream at night. Overall I think it is a great product and would highly recommend.

I like that it absorbed easily and found that it resulted in a more hydrated, even skin tone. I felt it was best for daytime use and it worked nicely under makeup. I did not notice any significant change in pigmentation or fine lines but overall think it offers affordability and good value. I would still use a heavier serum for overnight hydrating and more dramatic anti-aging results as I have very dry skin that needs extra nourishing in the cooler months of the year.

It is very subtle and lovely. The texture of the serum when you first pump it, is like watery liquid but when applied to the face, it adheres to the skin & feels hydrating. The serum doesn't have a strong nor offensive smell and sits under my moisturiser for my night time routine. My skin feels refreshed the next morning from the Vitamin B3 with no burning sensation at all from the retinol component. Thank you for the opportunity to try this product, I would gladly recommend this serum for anyone with tired or stressed skin.

The fact that it contained bio- retinol made me come to the decision to only use every 2-3 nights, as I would with retinol in my usual routine. The texture was unremarkable, but quite comfortable. Over the period of time of which I used it for, my skin seemed to be okay, no more pimples than usual. It felt healthy but I didn’t notice any significant changes, but of course, consistent use is key. I would continue with the use of this serum.

I sound surprised because I am a huge skincare snob and seem to think if it doesn't come in sparkly packaging and cost over $100 it can't possibly be good for my skin Anyway, the texture is nice and I'm a highly sensitive sensory person so I'm really picky about textures being gritty or greasy- I can't stand it and these products were neither of those things. I also don't like when products leave a pilling effect, and these products didn't do that either. I think you'd need to use this product for a couple of months to really see the benefits and I didn't notice immediate changes but my skin did feel plump which is nice. I am in my very late 30s and need help mostly with fine lines and loss of skin elasticity and these products fit the bill. I'd be happy to recommend these products to anyone looking for a reasonable price point, quality product that will last.

From a packaging perspective I love how simple the designs. The brown glass bottles and jars feels very high quality. I have a combination of dry skin with light post acne scarring. The serum was lightweight and absorbed easily against my skin. It wasn't overly sticky once dried nor overly fragrant which I appreciated. My skin felt plump and hydrated after each application and I noticed my scarring was less prominent by the 3rd week. I don't particularly have many wrinkles or fine lines so wouldn't be able to confirm how well this serum works in that sense. Overall, this serum makes a great addition to my skincare regime and perfect for those who want to slowly introduce retinol. Great product! Great value for money.

It does not have a gross obnoxious smell and has a lovely , weightless but silky serum texture that absorbs nicely into the skin. Contains great ingredients with good skincare benefits that tackle dark spots and wrinkles. I have loads of acne scars and so far have noticed a little improvement so i will keep this in my routine and see how much further it will go for me. I would say its a good beginner serum for those just starting out with active ingredients like retinol because it contains bakuchiol, nature's alternative to vitamin A which has similar benefits to retinol without the harsh effects. I agree that itg Improves skin texture and tone and reduces the appearance of dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles.

I used this overnight so I didn’t experience any issues with it under my make up but it did leave me feeling hydrated in the mornings. I already use a topical retinol so I was excited to try Bakuchiol (which is an alternative) and while I don’t know if it will have the same long term impact on my skin (in terms of anti-aging), it is definitely softer on my skin and didn’t leave me with dry or flakey skin. I’ll continue to use the rest of the product and see how it compares with my current routine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does a good job at hydrating As a Retinol lover I was excited to give the Swisse Bio-Retinol 0.5% Vitamin B3 10% Renewing Booster Serum a go. The serum comes in a 30ml bottle with a pump and lip. The serum itself is a medium consistency and is an opaque white colour. The directions on the box don't say how much to use but I have found 2 pumps is enough for my face and neck. It spreads easily and has a good slip to it. You apply this serum at night after cleansing and I like to spray a mist toner before applying this serum so that my skin is still wet and I find this helps the serum absorb better. I have found that this serum leaves me skin with somewhat of a slight tacky reside so I like to leave the serum on my skin for about 5 minutes before following with a moisturiser. After applying, my skin is supple, softer and feels comfortable and hydrated. And the following morning my skin feels smooth and has a glow to it. So far I haven't noticed any reduction in my fine lines or dark spots and have been using this nightly for the past 4 weeks but it definitely does a great job and hydrating. I don't think this serum does the same job as an actual serum containing Retinol but I would still use this serum for it's hydrating effects. This would probably be better for people with sensitive skin who haven't been able to use Retinol due to it's sensitivity effects. If you are looking to improve fine lines , wrinkles, dark spots, skin tone and texture then I'm not sure you'll get those kind of results from this serum as I haven't noticed any yet. I would stick to a Retinol product. But if your looking for a serum which hydrates and softens and provides a glow then this would be a great product.

The bottle itself is compact, but it holds a good amount of product. So that's a win. I really enjoyed using this product. I have dry skin, with early signs of aging, and this serum really helped to energise my skin. This serum seemed to return some of that glow to my skin. This serum seemed to improve the appearance of the skin around my eyes and mouth, giving it that hydrated and plump youthfulness that I was hoping for. I did find that one pump was too little, and two pumps were too much, so I did feel a little frustrated that I was wasting a little product every time. But otherwise, I feel that this product has helped improve my skin quality and given it a gentle boost.

I enjoyed the fact that this contains a very low concentration -.5% of retinol which is great to combat signs of ageing, as well as 10% niacinamide to help with oil production and brightening. I have post-acne hyperpigmentation and really enjoyed using this after cleansing, and before moisturiser. It's a lightweight texture and absorbs well into the skin! Would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to reduce signs of ageing and/or who needs help with scarring/pigmentation.

The formulation is very hydrating and it pairs well with other products in my routine. Works well under makeup as a base and a nice way to try bakuchiol without just adding stuff to a routine as it contains glycerin and niacinamide which act as a nice hydrator and resurfacer to the skin so you can swap out other products. My skin has also less irritation after 28 days of use. I recommended it to my sister who likes the product as well.

It felt nice going on and didn't have a strong fragrance which I appreciate as an acne prone skin. It sometimes didn't work well underneath make-up so I would recommend it as a nightly treatment. My acne prone skin didn't breakout while using this product and felt softer and more supple while using so I would definitely recommend. Especially since the price is incredibly affordable for such good ingredients.

The serum is packaged in a 30ml dark amber glass bottle with a plastic pump. I have dry to normal skin and used this every evening after cleansing on my face and neck. The serum is light and easily absorbed with a slight earthy scent. I found the serum to absorb very quickly but did leave a slightly tacky finish. I seal in the serum with a night cream. I didn't notice a very visible difference in my fine lines and wrinkles after using for 3-4 weeks. I did think it was a very good all-round serum if you were just to use one serum with the benefits of Bakuchiol (Vitamin A alternative to Retinol), Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid. Overall, I did think the serum was very moisturising and left my skin soft to touch.

Coming into my 30s, I was definitely keen to give this product a go. I love that it is gentle enough to use every night, as usually I stick to retinol once or twice a week with the fear of it otherwise being too harsh on my skin. But I used this consecutively most nights before bed and my skin didn’t react badly in any way. After using this product for about 2 weeks, my skin does feel slightly more hydrated, renewed and youthful. So far I think the results have been subtle, but I’m keen to keep on using this product More regularly and to see the results further. I would recommend this product.

I have found that this serum leaves me skin with somewhat of a slight tacky reside so I like to leave the serum on my skin for about 5 minutes before following with a moisturiser. After applying, my skin is supple, softer and feels comfortable and hydrated. And the following morning my skin feels smooth and has a glow to it. So far I haven't noticed any reduction in my fine lines or dark spots and have been using this nightly for the past 4 weeks but it definitely does a great job and hydrating. I don't think this serum does the same job as an actual serum containing Retinol but I would still use this serum for it's hydrating effects. This would probably be better for people with sensitive skin who haven't been able to use Retinol due to it's sensitivity effects. If you are looking to improve fine lines , wrinkles, dark spots, skin tone and texture then I'm not sure you'll get those kind of results from this serum as I haven't noticed any yet. I would stick to a Retinol product. But if your looking for a serum which hydrates and softens and provides a glow then this would be a great product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Made my skin look nice I have used retinol before and my skin did not like it. I think this less potent percentage of Retinol was a better mix for my skin. The Niacinamide, bakuchiol and hyaluronic acid helped my skin become plump and looked hydrated after using this serum. It did not make me look any younger but it did make my skin look nice. I used a thick moisturiser after using this Bio Retinol Serum. The booster serum’s bottle has a pump dispenser and it made me only use a few pumps per use. I would use morning and night.

I have been using over the counter retinol products for a while and found that this wasn't as strong or effective as other retinol serums avaliable at the chemist. I also found the consistency quite sticky and it didn't absorb too well. It left my skin tacky and sticky and I still felt it on my skin after applying creams. The product is slightly milky in texture and has a very slight herb-like scent which isn't too bad. The smell fades almost immediately after applying. I didn't see any improvement in wrinkle, dark spots or hydration. I do have dry skin though, so this maybe more suited to normal skin types.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pleasantly Hydrating [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this serum for a month-ish now and I’ve found it to be a nice hydrating product. I wake up in the morning and my skin still feels plump and hydrated. It feels slightly sticky at first but quickly absorbs. The scent is barely noticeable. About one pump covers my face, neck and decolletage. I have light pigmentation across my forehead which is beginning to look less noticeable, but my main area of concern was darker pigmentation on my cheek. After a few weeks I noticed it was getting darker, which as I understand it is to do with skin turnover. It’s hard to tell, but in the last few days I’ve felt it wasn’t as stark when I looked in the mirror. I’m keen to see the difference by the time I get to the end of the bottle (I’m almost halfway now). I have been experiencing constant pimples not related to my hormones since using this product however. They do seem to be getting less, so maybe it was an initial purge phase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from First Try with Bio-Retinol [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first attempt to use a bio-retinol, having never used retinol before. I found that my skin didn't get along with it as it was causing me to have small bumps and pimples around my chin which I've never had before. I'm not sure it was this causing it, but as it was the main change to my routine, it's my leading culprit. Other than that the texture was beautiful, it was very soothing on the skin. I have a shared bathroom and noticed it was being borrowed by most of my household, so clearly it was just my skin that was reacting, as no one else seemed to have a problem with it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice product, minimal strength [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Firstly, I am a little disappointed with the name Bio-Retinol, as the product does not contain retinol, but Backuchiol. I feel this is a little misleading. Whilst this is a nice, silky serum, I did not notice a huge improvement in my skin. This may be because I use other retinols however, so my skin is receiving it's dose of Vitamin A from those. I imagine this would be perfect for someone who has never used a retinol before, because it's a nice gentle introduction to these kind of products. For more mature skin I'm not sure how much of a dramatic difference this will make. On a positive note, it sits really nicely under makeup and skincare and is quite refreshing and plumping. Probably not a repurchase for me however.
