What is retinol?
Retinol is a form of Vitamin A that helps stimulate skin cell turnover, which decreases with age. Retinol can refine and resurface the skin to improve the appearance of wrinkles, texture, and uneven tone. 

How to use retinol?
Pure Retinol is a potent ingredient, your skin will need time to adjust. Introduce gradually. Week 1: Apply Pure Retinol 2 nights a week before Hydra Genius. Week 2: use every other night. Week 3: use nightly as tolerated. Follow with SPF in AM.

Can Retinol be used by all skin types or ages?
Retinol can be used by all skin types and ages. Retinol use in your 20's and 30's is important for preventing early signs of aging. In your 40's and 50's Retinol will continue to work on cell turnover, and wrinkles, including deep one.

Directions

"Your skin will need time to get used to Retinol. It is recommended to introduce gradually. Apply 3-4 drops to clean, dry skin in the evening before Revitalift Laser Night Moisturiser. Always use a broad spectrum sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 15 the morning after.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful serum [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical to start using as I have tried many serums to assist with improve pores and texture and fine lines however after using nightly for 4 weeks I was delighted to see a visible difference especially in the texture of skin it was smoother, firmer and generally brighter and I trialled this in winter when my skin can often be dull , I took one point away as I really didn’t enjoy the smell , it has zero effect on the skin and you can only smell when using the product from the dropper, I really liked the feature of a dropper bottle as I always knew how much to use , if you are looking to incorporate retinols in your regime I recommend this one

I followed the instructions recommended to gradually increase usage to a daily basis over a few weeks but I found better results with just using a few times a week. Daily use did cause some irrigation and dryness for me. Overall a good product that works at improving the appearance of fine lines. I will continue to use and monitor changes to deeper lines.

I found the product was good but have to introduced it slowly. I used alternate day only because my skin was itchy. I have sensitive skin. This product seems to be a bit strong for me to use every day. However the alternate day use works just fine. I have not noticed massive improvement in skin, but I did not have many wrinkles to start with. Skin looks brighter and more hydrated.

As a serum is quite creamy and not greasy which is just perfect. Smell nice - not strong smell. Just follow the instructions at the back and start using it twice a week at the beginning and them increas the application. Makes skin smooth and healthy and I can see that some of the wrinkles are less visible.

However the downfall is the glass bottle (all L'oreal serums comes in a glass bottle) twice now I had accidentally knocked the bottle from the sink & it broke on the floor, & because of this I am inclined to buy a similar serum from a different brand who uses hard plastic for there bottles, I recommend that L'oreal does the same. I am sure I am not the only one who has experienced this, & because of broken glass I had to replace it twice. I really would wish L'oreal consider hard plastic bottles.

It has a nice fragrance, not over powering, and did not leave a greasy residue like some other serums do. Will buy this again and for my mother in law also as she likes these serums and this one works. I will keep using it and see if it gets even better. I am happy with this product so far, the results are good. It lifts the skin and makes your face especially your cheeks appear younger and rejuvenated.

I didn't need a lot of the product, just a small squirt that covered all over. It didn't have an overpowering smell at all, actually it was quite nice. I noticed an improvement in my skin and will definitely buy this product in the future. I was so surprised that I could see results as quickly as I did. I have recommended this product to my friends already as I know they have been looking for something that actually works.

Seeing this mirrored back to me always freaks me out, so using products or treatments that disconnect my skin from my illness are always high on my list. This is a good project and long story short, it give me some plumpness, some glow, some brightness, which not only looks better, but makes a big difference to how I feel about myself. The serum is kind of milky-looking, spreads easily on the skin and absorbs easily. I had to remember to wear sunscreen the next day, but that was a fair trade. Good stuff.

At 30 years of age, this is the first time I've gone head first into a specific anti-aging product like retinol and I must admit I am very pleased with the results. Please, please follow the instructions on the pack. This is certainly a strong serum and it's worth noting the staggered approach to getting your skin used to it. Pair with a really good sunscreen with a high SPF to protect yourself too! I noticed visibly smoother skin after a couple of weeks of use. Initial irritation around my eyelids disappeared (I was a bit heavy handed to begin I think!) so be mindful and do a spot test. Fine lines and those squinty lines around my eyes seemed to have filled out a little and seem less prominent under makeup where as previously it used to collect in the seams so to speak! It's a worthy product to add to the regular skin care routine, easy to use, no chemical smell and applicator and consistency of the serum is great. Really pleased with the results and will continue to use!

I like the fresh scent and texture that just melts and adsorbs into my skin. The packaging is not the best I'd rather a pump pack rather than a dropper bottle for hygiene and cleanliness. I never felt any tingling or irritations but I ignored the directions and started using it too often too soon which caused my skin to flake some but once I cut back my usage and used more moisturizer my skin was fine. I would recommend others to try this serum.

I initially used too much resulting in toning but then pulled only used a few drops . The packaging is good, easily to use applicator which allows you to obtain a few drops as needed without contaminating the bottle. It’s a nice consistency with a pleasant smell. It leaves you skin feeling refreshed . Best to use an intense night moisturizer about 15 minutes following application. I’ve noticed a positive difference in my skin. Will definitely add it into my routine

I am 31 years old and this is one of my first "heavy duty" aging skin care products. I have used AHAs and BHAs mildly in the past. I have very fair skin with pink undertones and it is a combination skin type which is mildly sensitive. I wear an SPF every day. I quite enjoyed trialing this product. It has a classy, professionally styled dark blue glass bottle with red and white writing which stands out. There is a pipette for application which makes it easy to dispense the right amount of product to easily cover your face and neck. It spreads easily so you can use only a few drops to thinly cover your face/neck or if you prefer a heavier application then you can use a full pipette which is still not an excessive amount. I am not a fan of pipettes due to the product having possible contamination/decomposition due to contact with the air and and bacteria around. I'd love to see this product in a pump bottle which doesn't require opening in the future. The product itself is a white liquid which easily melts into your skin upon application. It is important to follow the guidelines for application which are listed on the packaging (only 1-2 applications in the first week slowly building up each until week by week 4 you are applying it each night) as there can be irritation, redness or breakouts if you start using the product too quickly. You must also use an SPF sunscreen after using this as your skin is more susceptible to burns. Use the retinol at night and the SPF next day. I personally experienced a few minor breakouts but no irritation, tingling etc that are listed as possible side effects for others. The reason I had breakouts and sometimes oilier than usual skin, I think, was because I was speeding the process along a little too quickly and was being impatientby applyingit to my skin too frequentlyin the beginning. However, it could also just be the natural process of my skin adjusting to the product. Now I am at week 4 I am happy with the results and I am finding my skin feeling smoother to the touch. In my honest opinion it is also brighter than usual. I also feel that it is starting to look plumper. I would recommend others to try this out. It really is more than a usual night cream or serum.
