What is retinol?
Retinol is a form of Vitamin A that helps stimulate skin cell turnover, which decreases with age. Retinol can refine and resurface the skin to improve the appearance of wrinkles, texture, and uneven tone.

How to use retinol?
Pure Retinol is a potent ingredient, your skin will need time to adjust. Introduce gradually. Week 1: Apply Pure Retinol 2 nights a week before Hydra Genius. Week 2: use every other night. Week 3: use nightly as tolerated. Follow with SPF in AM.

Directions

"Your skin will need time to get used to Retinol. It is recommended to introduce gradually. Apply 3-4 drops to clean, dry skin in the evening before Revitalift Laser Night Moisturiser. Always use a broad spectrum sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 15 the morning after.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to Beauty Crew for giving me the opportunity to trial L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser Pure Retinol Night Serum. Having tried retinoid creams in the past (prescribed by Doctors) I wasn't sure well this milky white serum would perform. But it exceeded my expectations and I'll certainly purchase again. It arrived boxed and the product is a good size, a little goes a looong way and it absorbed into my skin beautifully without leaving a greasy or tacky feel. After 4 weeks my skin certainly feels smoother and it seemingly controlling my breakouts. I'm 42 and have started to get pesky hormonal breakouts along my jawline and near my mouth. When using this, it's extremely important to use SPF 50+ sunscrean on your face for everyday use. If you don't you will be undoing all of your good work in using a retinol serum. I cannot yet comment on how well it is fading my hyperpigmentation as I believe it too early to see an improvement with that. But I recommend this product for a skin smoothing solution.

It has definitely made my skin look smoother and my skins texture has good much better! I would normal put this serum on my skin before bed and would leave this on my skin overnight! It feel like nothing on my skin , the fragrance of serum is bit strong when you apply but disappear within seconds after applying and doesn’t irritate your sleep! I wouldn’t like this if I could smell this in my face all night but that’s not the case with this serum! It get absorbed easily on my skin without leaving my skin greasy or sticky, which is another plus from me ! It’s a pure retinol night serum! You only need couple of drops to cover your whole face , so little goes the long way which justify the price of this serum! The packaging of this serum is very high end I love the rich blue colour of the bottle and it comes with a dropper lid which makes it much easier to apply on your face and makes it less chance to contaminate! It’s easy to travel with as of the bottle shape! It’s easily available at almost all supermarkets, pharmacies and departmental store ! I would definitely recommend to my family and friends to give it a try if suffering from any skin related issues such as rough skin surface or wrinkles! It makes my skin looks much smoother and skin texture has improved a lot ! I will keep using this serum after the trial and look forward buying more and add this to my night skin regime!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A delightfully easy to use serum that is fantastic for newbies to retinol as well as seasoned users of the ingredient! It does take some time of regular use to see the results, but it definitely made my skin feel smoother and softer as well as my pores appearing smaller. Worth the investment and regular usage - would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a retinol. It’s not super harsh and best of all - easy to purchase! I use it twice a week in the PM, however have read that you can also us it in the AM too. Please make sure you wear SPF after using!

I found I had to ease in to the product (as per the instructions) as my skin was not used to the product at first. Sunscreen during the day was a must to protect my skin (again, this is stated clearly in the instructions). My skin felt smoother quite quickly. The fragrance was nice and the texture lovely too. The dropper made it easy to measure and apply the correct amount. The glass bottle added to the luxuriousness of the product. I think this is an excellent way to achieve silky smooth skin, in the comfort of your own home and a fraction of the cost of other more invasive alternatives.

I wasn’t disappointed. The dropper applicator allows you to apply just the right amount. Don’t be over zealous with the application - a little goes a long way and if you haven’t used retinol products before less is more to start with until your skin adjusts. The consistency of the serum is lightweight and it absorbs really well into the skin with no residue or sticky feeling. I’ve been using the product for a few weeks now and the results have been pleasing. There’s a visible difference to my skins texture and firmness. As with any retinol serum the results become apparent over time so I’m excited to continue using this wonderful product to see some longer term results. The product is excellent value for money and I’d highly recommend it to those looking for a reliable entry into the retinol world.

After using it for about 1 month, I definitely saw a reduction in my fine lines on my forehead. I didn’t experience any redness, stinging or discomfort through the process at all. I thought the packaging was great and the dropper top was excellent in reducing any product wastage. I fit into my nightly skin care routine well and I think it will become a permanent product in my bathroom cupboard. I’ve already recommended it to my mum and a few friends. I’m really looking forward to continuously using it and seeing the results!

I found it really good, my skin can be quite reactive especially with retinol products but I had none of that with the L’Oréal serum. There was minimal smell to me, it went on nicely and absorbed well. I would put my regular night moisturiser on top without issues. I did start off using it slowly to make sure my skin could adjust to it. My skin appears smoother and more refined without having suffered the flakiness I normally get with retinol products. It could be my imagination but I feel that very fine lines have lessened. I would definitely recommend this serum and will continue to buy it when I run out.

I have used serums before and I have very sensitive skin so I’m always careful with introducing new products. I used 1 drop every other night to begin with and I had no reaction at all (amazing!). With other serums I find they don’t easily absorb but this one is lovely! It absorbs so easily and feels silky smooth to touch. It does have a strong ish scent but I found it quite pleasant so that didn’t worry me at all. I also found that a little goes a long way so it’s good value for money too. After a week or so I started to use it every night and that’s when I started to see results. My skin is noticeably smoother and doesn’t feel dry at all. I sometimes have redness associated with dry skin and I found that my face was a lot less red indicating good hydration. Overall I would definitely recommend this product. It’s lightweight, easily absorbed and a little goes a long way. Most importantly- it works!

I'm not a huge fan of the dropper delivery method as it gets a bit messy and fiddly but I'm willing to overlook it if the product inside is good....and this one is. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this 'drugstore' level retinol but this serum packs a punch. A lot stronger than I anticipated and my skin is fairly resilient and I have used retinol and tretinoin products previously. The serum itself is white and quite liquidy with quite a strong fragrance. Fragrance doesn't bother me but it could be an issue for those sensitive to scent and fragrance on their skin. The scent does dissipate rather quickly. I started off using the serum cautiously 1-2 times a week for the first 2 weeks then 2-3 times a week for the last several weeks. I had some slight peeling and flaking once I moved up to using it more frequently but it wasn't terrible and was remedied with a good exfoliation. My skin acclimatised quickly to the increased frequency of use and was amazingly soft and started looking brighter and smoother nearer the end of the trial with the increased cell turnover. This is a really good serum for those wanting to use a retinol. It packs some punch, enough that you see that it is working but your skin should adapt to this. For older people (like me) where your skin cell turnover has slowed down and started to dull and texturise your skin, this stuff is amazing. It keeps your skin soft, bouncy and juicy.

The results in my skin before and to now have been obvious. My skin looks clearer, feels softer and because of that I suppose you would say has dimmed any fine lines especially around eyes. I use nightly moisturiser afterwards as directed and my skin is definitely softer. It's an easy to use silky consistency that absorbs easily into the skin and one pump is all you need for all areas. There is a slight smell but I quite liked it, not sure if all retinol products smell that perfumed though so if perfumed products bother you perhaps a sample of this before purchase. The bottle reminds you of the importance of sunscreen the next day which while should be part of ritual, I like that they tell you to help avoid pigmentation.

I have used retinol for the last few years and I was keen to see how this would compare and I must say I was impressed. I used the product every second night and I had no irritation, always best to start slow though. I loved the feel and consistency and it didn't feel sticky and was gentle on my skin. It's a great price point and I love that it's easy to purchase. I have only been using this for a few weeks and I can't wait to see further results but so far I'm impressed, I feel that my skin looks plumper. I will continue to use and would certainly recommend, I am loving it so far. I am 47 years old and I think retinol is a must and this is a goodie.

So stick with it for at least that long to see the benefits. reasonably flushed, drier-than-usual, lightly peeling skin. They not only boost collagen production, but may also have the potential to stop photoaging before it starts. They've been shown to prevent the rise of collagenase — the enzyme that breaks down collagen — after UV exposure Retinol is a gold-standard ingredient in skin care because it alters the behavior of aged cells so they act in a more youthful manner. The packaging is great and the scent is absolutely beautiful and very subtle & quickly dissipates once it’s applied to the skin. I don’t understand some other reviews that say the fragrance is way too strong, heavy or off-putting. But then again, everyone is different. I use this serum about every second night. It absorbs into my skin easily and although it tingles a bit at first, it’s really nothing crazy or painful. I’ve also expected this serum to dry out my skin, but that hasn’t happened and actually, my skin feels really smooth and hydrated. It’s very easy to add this into my night routine and I thoroughly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anita B. from Very potent serum which gives fast visible results [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm currently really enjoying trialing L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Pure Retinol Night Serum and on week 4 of use. I've tried a few other retinol serums in the past, and was surprised at just how much stronger and more effective this formula was. It comes in a nice blue packaging with easy to dispense, hygienic dropper. The texture is a white, milky fluid which easily and quickly absorbs into skin. I found 2-3 drops was enough to cover my whole face, which I usually followed with one of my favourite moisturisers. Some other members mentioned a strong smell but I didn't notice anything off putting. Only a light, lotion type of fragrance that quickly faded and didn't bother me at all. This is definitely a powerful serum and it's highly recommended to follow the directions instead of just slathering it on your face straight away like I did the first two nights. I have oily skin which can usually tolerate quite a lot so thought nothing of jumping straight into it. Instead of introducing it slowly, I made the mistake of starting out using the serum every night and experienced quite a bit of redness, dryness and peeling/flaking during the first week of use. Due to it's potent ingredients, I had to switch up my usual skincare routine a bit. I normally use pretty harsh cleansers with salicylic acid, BHAs, and other exfoliators, which I had to stop while using this serum, and found I didn't need them anyway. For the first few week or so, I experienced some redness, dryness and peeling especially right after cleansing. After a quick Google search I think this was "the retinol uglies" or skin purging which is apparently normal for some people who aren't that experienced with retinols, while their skin adjusts to the new product and can take a few weeks. This may put some people off retinol, however I definitely saw this as the serum working and persisted, and I'm so glad I did as the results are better than any other retinol product I've tried so far. I normally don't require a lot of heavy moisturisers but found that I had to moisturise quite a lot, especially during the first week of use as my skin became a bit dry and flaky, with dry patches especially visible if wearing foundation. I switched to a milder cream cleanser, and sometimes mixed the serum with a moisturiser until my skin adapted. I'm on week 4 of use now and the redness, peeling and dryness has minimized unless I go overboard with the serum or back to my harsh cleansers - then my skin is a little red, dry, flaky and tight especially if I don't moisturise straight after cleansing. I work from home so it doesn't really bother me, however if I do need to go out during the day I make sure to always use SPF 50+ and use extra moisturising serum, moisturiser and/or a skin oil. I'm very happy that my skin adapted relatively quickly, and even happier with the results. I've noticed the fine lines/expression lines on my forehead look smoothed out, my pores look smaller, my overall skin texture is soft and smooth, and I don't get any breakouts. I also have some pigmentation "dots" on my forehead from past sun damage which are starting to fade, and a few pigmentation areas on my cheekbones that are starting to also fade. This is only after 4 weeks, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the final results and how my skin will look after I've finished the whole bottle, or 6 months of use. The one thing I've mostly had to change is constantly moisturising my skin, not that I mind because I have plenty of moisturisers just sitting around that I can finally get some use out of. All round this is a great product that actually delivers on it's promises - just follow the directions and be extra careful if you have dry or sensitive skin. If you're not used to retinol, use gentle skincare products at the same time as using this, and don't be surprised if you experience some redness, dryness and peeling/flaking especially at the beginning. Use a good moisturiser after, or mix the serum with a moisturiser, and definitely never go out in the daytime without SPF!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Belle T. from Fantastic serum [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been trialling the Revitalift laser x3 pure retinol night serum for around 4 weeks now and I did as instructed I slowly increased how many times per week I used it, I have noticed improvement in my skin and especially my pigmentation, the consistency is a milky serum which is easy to disperse from the dropper the scent is quite strong but I don’t find it offensive some might who have a sensitive reaction to smells, but overall I have enjoyed this product and will continue to keep it in my regime in the future.highly recommend this serum if you are struggling with pigmentation and are getting a little older.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used retinol products before and thought myself an experienced user. Even though the instructions on both the box and the information for the review said to introduce this product slowly, I decided that I would be fine. I wasn’t and I was waking up with dry patches over my face - not a good look! My recommendation is to use this as directed on the product. I started out using the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Pure Retinol Night Serum every second night and quickly realised when my skin started getting a bit sensitive with dry patches, that I needed to stop and start introducing the serum SLOWLY! Since I began using the serum correctly, I have really noticed some differences in my skin. It is now plumper and my fine lines have, not disappeared, but are definitely harder to see. I also had a wrinkle between my eyebrows that was fairly deep and that has reduced in depth as well - which I am very happy about. I like the dropper delivery system and particularly like the texture of the serum, which is thicker and therefore stays on your face while you are putting the dropper back into the bottle, without running everywhere. A little goes a long way and the Revitalift serum absorbed very quickly leaving my skin feeling very soft and supple with no greasy or oily residue. I am now using the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Pure Retinol Night Serum 2-3 times per week and am just monitoring how my skin feels before applying it that third time. I have found that I cannot put the retinol directly on my eyelids, however if I put it around my eyes and then put moisturiser on straight afterwards, which also goes on my eyelids then surely some transfer of retinol goes on there too and that does not make my eyelids peel. My neck cannot seem to tolerate the retinol even when mixed with moisturiser if I use it more than twice per week as it becomes red and sensitive. Just in the last week though I have been able to use the serum mixed with moisturiser once without getting the sensitivity and so I will continue with the once a week application on my neck. I really like how the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Pure Retinol Night Serum has improved my skin texture and I feel that my skin really is looking younger and healthier than it was previous to using this serum. I will definitely keep using it and cannot wait to see the results after 2-3 months of use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first impression with this product is amazing, simple solid packaging easy droplet bottle design so definitely you can customise how much you want to use in each application. First time using the product: The texture of the products reminds me of a milky smooth consistency not runny or not to thick. It feels good upon application in the skin and I can feel that my skin is hydrated after application . It also has a nice scent to it, I know some people might not like it but for me I do like the scent and it just makes me relax applying it at night. Continues using the product: This product is one of the strongest retinol serum I have tried to this moment. I have follow the recommended usage to start 2-3 in a week to start and I felt it actually dried my skin so fast. Don’t get me wrong that is actually the effect of retinol coz they actually help your skin to turnover skin faster that’s why it will actually dry you if you use it to much. So learning that my skin with this product turnover my skin faster I only used it once a week and honestly that help my skin just enough. My skin is glowy and looking younger, I am 35 and a regular retinol user and I will say this one is really good to boost that dull skin back to life plus bonus it’s easy to purchase so when I run out I just need to order it fast and easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Elaine L. from My very first retinol experience [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to try out my very first retinol product, L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Pure Retinol Night Serum. Thank you BEAUTYcrew for providing the product. The serum is milky and has a light consistency, so it is easily to spread all over the face with just only few drops of product. I have deep wrinkles on my neck, so i add extra drops on that area to see if there is any improvement. ALthough it is fragranced, it is not a big issue to me. After application, i feel my skin is moisturized and supple. My face doesn't have any irritaion but my neck does have some initial redness and tingling during the night. After I used it for 3 times, I experienced peeling on my full face for a few days. So I stopped using it until no more flaking. Then use it 2 nights a week again, and every other night afterward. Those peeled area appeared more radiant and the skin texture around my nose area is more refined. I can also feel my face is more tighter and plumper. For the deep wrinkle lines on my neck, one of small line gone red and irritated for a few days, then the line was being ironed and it is flat, serioulsy! Other deep lines are appeared less visible. I am very happy with the result in just 3 weeks. I would recommend this product.

I applied a few drops nightly every 1-2 days initially. And ensured I followed with a daily SPF in the morning to protect my skin. It dabs on gently and smoothly. My skin feels nurtured and appreciated. I was quite delighted with the outcome of the product. My skin appears healthier and the crows feet around my eyes have faded. I found that the smell was not to strong when applied. However if you smell the bottle directly, it is quite a strong smell. Smart compact packaging that works. Dropper bottle is well thought out and easy to use. I would recommend this product over others I have used in the past.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Emmy N. from Powerful Anti Aging Serum [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 38 years old & oily/dehydrated skin My main concerns are pores, pigmentation & skin texture (acne scars) I’ve been using L’Oréal hydraulic acid serum for a while (maybe 3 or 4 bottles) and my skin has dramatically improved (improved dehydrated skin & straighten skin) so I was really excited to try another product from L’Oréal skincare range. L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Pure Retinol Night Serum is a potent concentration serum of pure retinol. I’ve used retinol products before so I’ve been using it for every night for a few weeks. It’s light texture and it easily soaked into the skin. I didn’t experience any tingling or irritation which is great but if you try retinol product for the first time, I recommend to try a few times a week and see how your skin reacts. I really like this formula because It includes hyaluronic acid, glycerin and lightweight oils as well. It’s powerful formula for anti aging but it also nourished skin at the same time. Every night I do the double cleanse and pat dry my face with towel then I apply this product. After applying this product, I wait for 15 to 20 minutes to let it absorbed into skin well and finally apply moisturizer. If I feel a bit of dryness, I layer the moisturizer again. I don’t have any deep winkles yet but I am concerned about my skin texture & open pores. I haven’t seen any dramatic improvement for my pores yet but definitely my skin texture has become soft and supple. Only one thing I’m a bit unhappy about is fragrance of this product. Same as hyaluronic acid serum, this product has a quite strong fragrance. It subsides after the application but I hope they make less fragrance products in the future. Overall I really like this product and love L’Oréal skincare range. I think L’Oréal skincare range is underrated. They’re widely accessible and quite often good discount at supermarket & pharmacy. I guess some people may avoid their products because of animal testing but the package said without animal testing for more than 30 years. Great formula and I’ll definitely continue to use this product.

This serum has been a game changer! From the first use this serum is clearly effective and I have not suffered any irritation. Since I have used retinoids before I started using every second night and can see an improvement after only one week. The serum itself is light and non greasy and sinks in quickly. Looking forward to adding this to my skincare regime and enjoying the benefits after continued use.

The glow on my face is amazing and I have been getting a lot of compliments. I have used retinol from another brand however the results achieved from Loreal Retinol Night Serum has been quicker. The formula is infused with Hyaluronic acid,Glycerin and lightweight oils. So after cleansing my face, I apply this serum and use my nightly moisturiser. I am very happy with the product since I do not have to use more than 2 products for my nightly skincare routine. An excellent product which does the job and makes my skin look smoother with fewer breakouts and clogged pores. Definitely will be buying this product again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If your skin looks tired and dull you need to try L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Pure Retinol Night Serum! It is amazing and you can see improvement the next morning after the first application. I used it as directed: 3 to 4 drops on cleansed skin. Week 1: 2 nights, week 2: every second night and then nightly as tolerated. I didn't have any reactions to this serum which was fantastic. The serum is milky white and has a convenient dropper so there was no wastage. It was east to apply and it does have a really pretty fragrance. I loved the silky texture of the serum and it absorbs well. I definitely could see the results after using it, my skin looked plumper, fresher and it delivered long-lasting hydration. I would wake up every morning glowing! Seriously this product worked like magic for me and it certainly reduced the appearance of wrinkles.

However, I was always a bit hesitant to try because 1) the products on the market are very expensive and 2) I was concerned if I have a reaction or 3) the product didn’t work and that whole bottle would be wasted. The L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser Pure Retinol Deep Wrinkle Night Serum surpassed my expectation. The serum is packaged in a beautiful navy glass bottle with pumps and it already looks premium just sitting on my bathroom counter. The pump was easy to use, and instruction was easy to follow – apply 3-4 drops at night, 2x per week in the 1st week and every other night in the 2nd week. Initially I used only 2 drops because I was concerned about it being too strong as it contains 0.2% Pure Retinol (Vit A) and is the most potent form of retinol. The first time I applied it, there was no stinging or redness the next day. It was a light texture serum, easy to spread and absorbed quickly into my skin. There was no sticky feeling at all. I have combination skin and can get clogged pores around the T-zones sometimes. After a week, this serum hasn’t clogged my pores or cause any breakouts or reactions. The skin feels smoother and more supple after the 1st week. The 2nd week I applied more drops and more frequently as instructed. I had slight peeling on my nose tip, however the rest of the face was fine. I saw a small improvement on the size of my pores and my skin texture feels more refined and overall my skin feels nice and soft. I have a light scar on my cheek, so far it hasn’t fade completely although I feel it is slowly becoming fainter. I highly recommend this serum to people that are curious to try retinol but is hesitating due to the price and sensitivity issue. This serum is much more price friendlier than the other major brands and gradual improvements can be seen as early as 2 weeks. Definitely worth a try!

When I first started using this serum, I followed all instruction outlined on the packaging. Applying the serum twice in the first week, every second night in week 2 and then nightly during week 3. Your skin needs time to adjust to retinol products. The serum comes in a glass bottle with a dropper. This is very useful as you only need a few drops each application. After following this process, I’m pleased to say that I have had no reaction at all to this product. Which is amazing! I have tried other retinol products in the past which I have had some mild reactions. L’Oreal have defiantly got the combination of ingredients in this retinol product right. No redness, or dryness. After my morning skincare routine, I apply sunscreen to my face. This is important as retinol can make your skin more sensitive to the sun.The texture of this cream is beautiful and smooth on the skin. This serum absorbs well with a non-greasy feeling. I do not particularly like fragrance in my skincare products but the slight scent in this product is really pleasant. My skin definitely feels smoother and fine lines and wrinkles appear plumper. Especially across my forehead – amazing! I also have a radiance and brightness to my skin which I’ve never had before. Overall, I really love this product. The formulation of this serum is superb compared to the other retinol serums that I have tried before. It has totally changed my skin giving it a fresh youthful glow. The texture of my skin is smoother which has helped with applying my makeup. I have even had friends comment on how good my skin looks and ask me what products I have been using. A beautiful product which I will continue to buy, use and recommend to everyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried and tested this product and I cannot tell you how amazing it is! My skin is glowing! So smooth and refined that I feel 10 years younger! If your skin can take retinol then please try it ladies. You will feel wonderful and look a million dollars! My face was not red at all and I did not feel any burning sensation whatsoever. My skin immediately tightened and I felt a very comfortable tingling working its magic beneath the surface. So easy to use and no residue to worry about as it immediately dissolved into the skin.

It’s my first time introduce retinol to my skincare routine so I started with two times a week. The texture is light and It absorbs into the skin easily. I was expecting my skin to be drier in the beginning of using this since retinol is so strong but I haven’t noticed and redness or excessive drying. My skin lookes more glowy. In regards to wrinkles, i have not seen any results as yet but I’ll definitely be keeping this in my skincare routine to see better result. The only downside to this product is the fragrance is a little too strong but i can get passed that.

Your skin needs to adjust, so just use this serum twice in the first week, then every second night in week 2, and then nightly at the start of week 3. It's so easy to apply just a few pumps and you are done. You can use it at night, and use other serums too, and then follow with your night cream. and eye cream. In the morning, ensure you use SPF, either in your day cream or as a separate SPF product. This step is extremey important. The serum has a nice texture and a very pleasant scent. Skin feels smoother and the serum soaks in well. Skin definitely looks plumper, firmer and stronger, fine lines and deep wrinkles look and feel relaxed, leaving your skin and you feeling and looking younger, more radiant, with smoother and visibly less deep lines and wrinkles. Use it on your hands too, the backs of the hands and notice the results, more clarified skin, brighter, smoother and firmer.
