Rated 3 out of 5 by from Olay serum Worth the hype? Not sure. Was expecting this to be super hydrating. Unfortunately I don’t think my skin was any more hydrated or glowy. Expected more for the price, glad I purchased it on sale.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great product but not for me. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loved the opportunity to try out the Olay Niacinamide + Hyaluronic Super Serum. On first look the packaging and bottle look sleek and well designed, I like the auto filling dropper aid a nice touch as well. When I applied the serum it felt light and applied well but I needed more than one dropper to get full coverage. It smells lovely and absorbed quickly. Unfortunately, I did break out and didn’t really have any improvement to my skin. I do think this product was a good budget option and might work for other skin types.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Did not wow me This serum from Olay comes in a 30ml heavy glass bottle. The packaging feels luxurious and expensive. It has a self-loading dropper which makes it easy to dose out the product. The serum itself feels like a smooth silky liquid. The consistency of this serum is quite lightweight and on application it spreads easily, glides on smoothly and absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving any sticky feeling. Hence it does not interfere with other products in my routine and also sits well under makeup which I absolutely loved. This serum is formulated with Niacinamide which is the hero ingredient in this and is third on the ingredient list; however the product does not mention the percentage of it. This serum has floral fragrance to it and on application it does not linger for a long time so it did not bother me. My skin type is dry and dehydrated. I have been using two pumps of this serum for couple of weeks now in my morning and evening routine on my face and neck. I wouldn’t say this serum intensely hydrates my skin or gives a dewy glow as the product claims. I haven’t really noticed any visible improvements in my skin in terms of hydration and glow. Since this serum has Niacinamide, I was hoping it would help with some hyperpigmentation marks on the sides of my cheek and on my chin but did not notice any visible results. (Note: the product does not claim to do any of this). Overall, I will use up this serum as it is not a bad product but I wouldn’t get another bottle of this as it did not impress me with its results and considering the price I think for a Niacinamide serum it is a little expensive.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty but useless Both Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid are staples in my skincare, and I use them religiously in the morning and at night so when I got into BeautyHeaven's trial team I was beyond happy to get this. Let's start with the positive aspects. I'm truly in love with the bottle as it looks really sleek and somewhat expensive, I'm a fan of the dropper as I think that's the best way to dispense serums in an adequate way without wasting product. The consistency is not too thick and not too thing, somewhere in between which my skin actually liked because it absorbed pretty easily. But that's pretty much it for me! I've been using niacinamide serum and hyaluronic acid basically every day, twice a day, for the past three years and my skin is very grateful as it looks so supple. But this was not the case as this product didn't do anything for me, instead my skin started looking dull again. Also, it didn't work well with my snail mucin essence and sunscreen as I noticed some pilling. And while fragrance doesn't usually bother me, this serum has a faint scent that really doesn't work with me. Then I checked the price tag and honestly why would I spend that much, even thought it might be convenient to use two products at once, when can I get my usual products for a fraction of the price?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Perhaps better for oily skin [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really happy to be able to try this serum. Niacinamide and hyaluronic acid all in one - GREAT! I was using a niacinamide serum prior to trialing this product and was really happy with it. But also having skin that borders on dry, hyaluronic acid is always a good idea so this serum seemed like it was going to be a home run. Unfortunately, I can’t say that I loved it. The presentation is nice enough and I’m a fan of the self-dosing dropper bottles that are gaining in popularity with skincare brands. However on this bottle, the opening is quite narrow so I have to really watch it when I replace the dropper in the bottle. If I bump the side, some of the serum goes over the edge and drips down. Putting the dropper back in the bottle is a bit like a game of Operation. After a couple of weeks of use, I’m not actually a fan of this serum because I really don’t find it hydrating at all. In fact, my skin actually feels dryer now than it did before. After I apply this serum, my skin feels very dry to the touch. It’s nice to have products that absorb well, but I need that little bit of lingering hydration on top of my skin to feel comfortably moisturised. I do feel my skin looks a bit more luminous, but I’m not willing to trade the itchy around the nose, dry feeling I have now for a small uptick in glow. I think if you have normal skin, or possibly even oily skin, this serum might be a much better fit. As much as I was hoping this serum would be the magic bullet in my skincare routine, it’s not. And quite frankly, I find it overpriced for what it is.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Olay Super Serum Olay Niacinamide and Hyualuronic Super Serum is for adding hydration and designed to be used twice a day ahead of moisturising. The serum comes in a 30ml bottle with a pump dispenser however you have to wind the top off first and it’s like a dropper that you push the lid down to release the serum. I found this dispenser to be overly tricky to use and found I needed to wind the lid all the way back down in order to re get a second pump of serum, certainly not the most user friendly packaging. The smell for me was a little over powering and the serum was much ‘creamier’ and thicker then your usual water based serum. Surprisingly, despite the thicker appearance the serum did sink into my skin easily and I found I needed a full two pumps to spread across my face. My face didn’t feel oily on application and I do suffer oily skin. I didn’t notice any major visible improvement in my skin after a good 7-10 days of use but did find my skin was adequately moisturised. I guess like anything long term use is advised. However I prefer a more water based lighter serum as applying moisturiser following this serum would have felt too much for me. In addition, the packaging of the serum in addition to the smell would probably discourage me from re purchasing.
