Directions

Before shampoo: Apply to dry hair and leave as long as your hair needs; from 5 minutes for instant-miracle nourishment to overnight for deep nutrition, then thoroughly rinse.

In the shower: Apply after shampooing along the length of wet hair, leave for 2-3 minutes and rinse thoroughly with cold water.

As a leave-in treatment: Apply a 20 cent piece amount along the length of dry hair before styling or throughout the day.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from What I loved about this conditioner is it’s fragrance which was a yummy coconut, and that, like it says on the packaging, it made my hair incredibly shiny. I was impressed that it’s delicious scent lasted throughout the day, but why I’m not giving it 5 stars is it didn’t control all my frizz which usually dissipates with a moisturising conditioner. It certainly lived up to its claim that it didn’t weigh the hair down.\nI liked that it is packaged in a tub as I find a thicker conditioning product easier to scoop out rather than to force out of a bottle. I tried using it in different ways like leaving it on the hair longer for a nourishing treatment but for me this product worked the same when left on a short period of time. I have quite dry hair and tend to need a lot of moisture.\nOverall I am impressed with this conditioner as it lives up to its claims and I would highly recommend it to someone that has normal to slightly dry hair and wants mirror like shine without an oily residue.\n

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have long hair that tends to sit on the drier side, so I can be a bit of a snob when it comes to my hair care products. But in saying that, I love trying new products, especially when they have such a appealing price tag, so I was very excited to trial this product from L'Oreal.\n\nI tried this product as both a wash-out mask and as a leave in treatment, and was pleasantly surprised with the performance in each instance. The product was easy to use, did not have an overwhelming smell, and did not leave any unwanted residue on the hair. \n\nIn regard to results, I found the product did improve the moisture and appearance of my hair, not as much as some more expensive products I've tried, but for the price it did perform better than expected. I found that my roots did get oilier a little faster than usual, but nothing too bad. \n\nI would recommend this product for anyone looking for a hydrating mask on a budget.\n

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thank you Beautycrew for this amazing Supercrew trial product to review. \n\nThis coconut hair mask is an affordable and very adaptable product. You get a big tub of product and immediately upon opening the plastic jar, I can smell the coconut scent. The fragrance is strong, but not sickening coconut. I'm normally not a fan of coconut scents, but this one is mild, even though it is ,ing lasting scent, but it isn't irritating or overwhelming.\n\nThe L'Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil Coconut Hair Mask is thick and creamy and you just scoop some out and apply to your hair.\nThe first time I used it, I took a very tiny amount, and applied it to my hair. Then I liked how it made my hair feel instantly soft, so I scooped some more, and used it as a hair mask. I left it overnight and washed it off in the morning and my hair was soft and didn't have product buildup.\nI also like using a tiny amount just to keep my hair in balance and to stop flyaways.\nIf you use too much of the hair mask, it can make your hair heavy, so if this happens, use it as a mask and wash it off later.\n\nPros:\nAffordable\nMulti use product\nPleasant scent\n\nCons:\nCan make heavy if too much is used, so you may need to use it as a mask and wash it out\n\nRecommendation: This mask would suit anyone who wants a nourishing hair product which can help style the hair but also be used as an intense hair softening mask.\n

Rated 4 out of 5 by from As a part of the SuperCrew I am lucky to test some beauty products. This time it was not a trial for me as I had the very same product in my bathroom and I had known that product very well. First of all, the hair mask is widely available and can be bought for close to nothing. And it is not a bad product. I like it. The smell is wonderful and very addictive. Just the fragrance of the mask makes me want to use it at least twice a week. I appreciate the fact that the product is so versatile and can be used as a mask, ot a conditioner or a leave-in treatment. I do doubt though that one can find 1001 uses.... \nThe formula is very creamy and thick, it seems rich too but it does not weigh my hair down. I tend to use it as a leave in treatment after I wash my hair. The hair looks more managable and a tiny bit more hydrated. I wish the mask was more nourishing though. I believe all hair types could use this product and enjoy it.\n

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product smells amazing! As I have fine hair I was a little apprehensive to use this as a conditioner or a finishing balm as the product is designed for. I have been using this as a once a week treatment and am loving the result. I only apply a small amount to the mid lengths and ends. Once I have rinsed it out and blow dry my hair I have noticed it is substantially smoother and shiny.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For a supermarket product, I actually really liked using this! I'm a bit of brand-snob when it comes to haircare. I tend to favour salon brands over supermarket products because I generally find them to be more effective and of higher quality. In saying that, I was actually really surprised how nice this was to use on my fine hair. \n\nThe smell for one is lovely - I'm a sucker for coconut scents so this was right up my alley. The consistency is what I expect from this sort of product. Creamy, thick and rich. But this wasn't a problem for my fine hair like it usually is. My hair wasn't weighed down, or flattened. It worked really nice to give my hair that boost of hydration and smoothness that my ends begs for. I'm not really sure what 'extra-fine coconut oil' is. It does contain silicone, that might bother some people but I personally find silicones to work really nicely with hair. \n\nOverall, an affordable product that was pleasant to use!\n

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have dry, fragile and colour treated hair so I'm always on the hunt for a good quality hair mask and doesn't require long time to work its magic. After trying the L’Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil Coconut Hair Mask I must say it works beautifully for my hair type. The hair mask has a thick cream texture and I apply it all over hair after shampoo and leave it on for 5 minutes then rinse out. After rinsing out  the mask my hair super smooth and when I run my fingers through my hair, my hair de-tangles which is amazing. My hair looks smooth and silky for at least 3 days. However, my sister with normal to oily hair also tried this product and she didn't like it so much because this mask was too nourishing for her so I recommend this product for people with dry to normal hair type. \nThe con for this product is the packaging. The hair mask is in a tub and doesn't come with a spatula so I have to use my hand to get the product out which is very inconvenient, especially using it in shower where water can get into the product. \n

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I liked this hair mask from L’Oréal. It has a really great coconut scent and is thick and creamy. I apply the hair mask to my hair for about 10 minutes before my shower and then rinse off in the shower. My hair feels really soft and smooth and shiny and it still looks great after a couple of days. It didn't leave my hair oily and also made it easier to brush out any tangles in my hair.  After using this hair mask regularly for a few weeks,  I have definitely noticed an improvement in the texture of my hair. It looks and feels more hydrated and healthy.\n

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a product I will be going to buy again! To be honest I put more time / effort / money into skincare and make-up rather than hair, so I wasn't super interested in trying this hair mask out as I thought it was kind of surplus (why use more than just shampoo and conditioner?!). However, after just the first time using this as a leave in mask I noticed a major positive difference. Obviously my hair needed that hydration boost! It made my hair look thicker and fuller while still doing the job of a conditioner and getting rid of tangles. I touched my hair a lot  on the days after using this!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would like to start of with a little rant about how amazingly priced this is for the amount of product you get and also how this has become my new favourite smell. You feel like you have been transported to a little tropical island. The product has a thick consistency which makes it easy to apply as it doesn’t go everywhere. I like to apply this to wet hair and about a medium sized blob on my fingers. I comb this through my ends to prevent the friz and keep those hairs hydrated especially in the heat. You get instant results from applying it as it adds some extra shine. I’d recommend this for people who want a well priced product that actually works to maintain your hair and retain its moisture and shine. Ps- don’t be alarmed by the white product because there is so residue left behind!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I never usually use hair masks as I'm lazy and never see a huge difference. However, this product has changed my mind! \nFirstly, the coconut scent is gorgeous and stays on the hair after washing with a subtle fragrance. I also have dry hair that never seems to get enough hydration, so it was actually a little shocking how long my hair stayed smooth and moisturised after using this - it usually only looks and feel nice for one day after washing.\nMy hair was so easy to brush and extra soft!\n

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Loreal extraordinary oil coconut hair mask is a wonderful addition to your haircare routine and I have really enjoyed using this product.  I don't use hair masks often but this product helped me realise that I should! My hair is quite dry and is curly so I need products that will hydrate my hair or else it will be a frizzy mess.  The product smells just like coconuts which is one of my favourite scents and the mask itself is very creamy and moisturising.  I would take a scoop of the product from the jar and apply it all over my hair.  I found that you could use it as a conditioner and just work it through your hair and then rinse or you could make it an intense mask by leaving it on for 5-10 minutes.  My hair would feel soft and manageable once I washed it out.  I take a body shower everyday but because my hair is very dry I only take hair showers 2-3 times a week.  This hair mask would leave my hair looking and feeling great until my next shower.  It wouldn't weigh my hair down and when I would style my hair it would end up looking so much better.  There was less frizz and brushing my hair would be so much easier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I was definitely intrigued by this L’Oreal hair mask as I do love a multi-tasking product that helps treat more than one concern. This product is certainly a multipurpose hair treatment and comes in a generous sized plastic tub. The packaging states that you can use it as a pre-shampoo and post-shampoo treatment, as well as a leave-in treatment for as long as your hair needs. My hair is very frizzy and pretty dry so I decided to apply a fairly generous amount to my hair as an overnight treatment. This mask has a creamy yet lightweight texture that doesn’t weigh hair down or leave it feeling greasy or flat. As soon as I applied this mask I felt that my hair was softer and more nourished, as it absorbs quite well. \n\nThe product is concentrated so a little goes a long way, even if you have dry hair. I gently rubbed a small amount of this mask through my hair concentrating on the dry ends and as soon as I wash or rinse my hair it instantly feels soft and weightless. I also find that it’s less frizzy the next day and is more manageable. The one thing I dislike though is the strong fragrance which although is pleasant, can linger and be too overpowering for me. Other than that I do like the fact that it contains coconut oil and isn’t too heavy or rich. The tub will last ages too and this makes it great value for money. I would recommend this mask to anyone who has moderately dry, damaged hair and wants an effective, yet affordable multi-tasking hair treatment.\n

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The product: L’Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil Coconut Hair Mask \n\nMy opinion: \nI'm a huge fan of all things coconut based and so my sister recommended this hair treatment to me for this reason and also because I have very frizzy, dry and curly hair that needs a good treatment. I must admit I am a bit of a haircare snob and generally don’t buy supermarket haircare brands as I usually find they don’t contain enough added nourishing oils or repairing ingredients. Having said that I am incredibly pressed for time in the mornings and want a product that’s quick and easy to use, yet is effective in keeping my frizz well managed all day if possible. I was excited to use this L’Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil Coconut Hair Mask, for this reason as it can be used in more than one way…so really this product is more than just a mask! I generally prefer products in squeezable tubes or pump bottles, and this comes in a 300ml thick plastic tub which makes it a bit messy to use in the shower. As soon as I opened the tub for the first time, I got a strong but very pleasant and uplifting tropical coconut scent, which made me even more excited to want to try this product! I dipped my fingers into the tub and scooped out about a tablespoon’s worth of product to test it out as a leave in treatment or pre-shampoo. This ‘mask’ is designed to be used in various ways; as a moisturising pre-shampoo treatment, as a in shower hair mask and as a post-shampooing leave-in treatment or styling cream. I decided to use it as a pre-shampoo treatment the first time I used it, as I don’t usually use pre-shampoo treatments. When I first applied this product to my hair I was pleasantly surprised at how lightweight it is and it didn’t feel heavy or greasy like most coconut oil based products. I actually thought it would be quite heavy, even for my dry frizzy hair, but it really didn’t weigh my hair down and even helped define my curls to some extent. After shampooing my hair, I did feel that it was a lot softer and it didn’t have that dry, straw-like feel I sometimes get when I use too much shampoo. I have used this mask as a in shower treatment after shampooing and as a leave-in treatment, and I would say it does seem to work best as a mask in the shower and I leave it in my hair for 5 minutes before rinsing.  However overall I feel like my hair needs something that’s a bit more rich and hydrating, I would have also liked if this product had some more conditioning or hair repairing ingredients such as keratin, for example. This mask is a good supermarket buy if you don’t want to splurge but want a good product that can be used on wet and dry hair. I find it’s a bit too light and not nourishing enough to manage my frizz and curls, but my favourite thing about it is of course the beautiful tropical scent. \n\nBest for: This product is great for all hair types, but if you have very, very dry or frizzy hair then you may want something a bit more rich or heavier than this. Also if you don’t like strong sweet scents, then the fragrance may be too overpowering for you. \n\nRepurchase: no, unfortunately as it didn’t do too much to manage my dryness or frizz. \n

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I love trying new hair treatments. I have thick coloured andbleached hair and am always looking for new products which will hydrate andrepair my hair. Luckily my hair is not overly damaged as is generally in ahealthier condition, but I love the feeling of satin soft and hydrated hair, asmine tends towards dryness.\nI have several of the L’Oreal professional shampoos andconditioners that work wonderfully in my hair and so was very happy to try thishair mask. I definitely like treatments and masks where there are several waysof using it; in this case either as a normal wash out mask, or a leave intreatment. \nThe first time I tried this I used it as a rinse-outtreatment, after leaving it in for approximately 10 minutes after shampooing. Was it was rinsed out, I noted that my hair did feel very light and soft andthis was the same after drying. Unfortunately, I would say that I didn’t noticeany prolonged hydration from the mask. Whilst my hair felt soft andconditioned, I did not notice any increased shine which I would have liked.\nI then used this as a leave-in treatment. I used a smallamount and spread it through my ends and mid-lengths of my hair. I did notnotice any improvement after doing this and did not notice any hydration orshine increases. If anything, I noticed that my hair became oilier afterstyling.\nOverall, I love the scent as I do enjoy anything coconut, though I understand this may not be to everyone’s tastes. I did notice animprovement to the hydration of my hair after using it as a rinse out treatmentbut not as a leave in. With my hair shine was not improved, though this may bedifferent with other types of hair. I did like this product, but I feel thatthere are some others which I have used previously which do more of what I needfor a similar price point. \n

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I love that star skincare and haircare ingredients are being picked up by larger brands. Coconut oil is such an amazing moisturising and protecting ingredient for hair of all types, so I’m really happy to see an easily accessible hair mask from L’Oreal featuring it! \n\nThe texture of the hair mask is creamy yet light, and it is very easy to spread through my hair. The light texture also makes it super easy to spread through my roots and massage it into my scalp - I find that thicker/heavier hair masks are really hard to distribute evenly through my roots.\n\nI left it on for the recommended time, and after rinsing, my hair felt super moisturised. After drying, my hair felt soft and nourished. My only complaint is that it left my roots greasy and weighed down. I have thin hair so greasy roots look shocking on me. In the future I will just use it on my ends. Another thing to note is that while the scent is lovely, it is very very strong! So perhaps if you are pregnant avoid this product as the scent may be overwhelming for you.\n

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This product has a multitude of uses. It can be used to help tame fly aways and frizz, as a deep nourishing mask, a quick in the shower treatment in lieu of a conditioner, or a leave in treatment. The L’Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil Coconut smells really lovely (think coconut tanning oil), is a thick consistency that doesn't drip, is easy to apply and "work" with and is great value for money. So far, it all sounds quite good. \nUnfortunately though, I really didn't experience any long lasting results. As an intensive treatment, I didn't need to reach for conditioner after rinsing, but as soon as my hair air dried I didn't feel any difference to my hair- my hair was just as frizzy as always. As a styling product, after straightening my hair at first my flyaways were tamed, my hair felt more soft and manageable, shiny and gorgeous, but as soon as I experienced any humidity, the frizz returned and my styling efforts were unnoticed. I have naturally thick, wavy hair that is quite often oily at the roots and dry at the ends and generally just difficult to work with. Taming my toddler is easier than taming my hair (on most days anyway).\nWith this product there was a lot to like, but unfortunately I am sold on results and I just didn't get that with this. For the price though, I would recommend that it be given a try, as it just may work better for others.\n

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I was given the opportunity to use the  L’Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil Coconut Hair Mask.recently, and I have to say, I wasn't completely blown away by it. In a nutshell, this product is one that is meant to have multiple uses. You're supposed to be able to use it as a conditioner, hair mask, a pre-treatment shampoo, and, icing on the cake, it's also possible to be used as a leave in product. Sounds a little too good to be true? It's sadly the case for my hair.\n\nMy hair is a straight, Asian, and thick - using this as a conditioner, it works really well. I do love how soft this leaves my hair then. When I used this as a mask, I found that left my hair feeling flatter than I would have expected - not ideal, as I love having a bit of body to my hair. The leave-in conditioner bit is my least favourite, unfortunately, because that really does make my hair feel too heavy. I like that this does come in a jar, so that you can control the amount of product that you get out. \n\nOverall, I do like how this works, but I can't use it to the fullest extent of what it's meant for, unfortunately.\n

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I have used this hair mask a few times, and athough I typically love L'Oréal hair products, this was not one I particularly got along with. I have very thick and very straight hair, however the actual strands of hair quite thin and not at all coarse, and I found that this hair was not great at hydrating my hair. After I applied the mask I found that my hair still felt quite dry. I think especially after reading other peoples reviews) that this is not a bad product, it just may not be the best product for me and my overly thick hair. I still enjoyed the smell of the product, it left my hair smelling lovely and coconutty. I also enjoyed the texture of the product, it was nice and thick so was easy to apply to the hair. I think that if you have hair of a normal thickness you could potentially love this product as it would apply enough hydration for you!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It dries hair I can’t believe these other reviews! I will get my magnifying lens and find out why this seemingly good product literally makes my hair dry and straw like. Since I’m looking for the exact opposite, this is a big disappointment. Tried it on dry hair - awful. Crunchy hair. Tried it as a blow drying protectant - possibly works but it’s not helping to hydrate or smooth. Tried it after it’s wet and when my hair dries it feels awful. Im not sure what else to do to make this work but I’m probably going to throw it out as it must hace something in it other than coconut and something to make it a cream. It dries hair... surprising and problematic given most people will be looking for the opposite. Get something else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really not sold on this and I really wanted to be. Ugh. I am still on the hunt for the ultimate hydrating products for my hair. I have curly, thick, colour treated hair which is a little prone to dryness. This product looked like a miracle in a jar. There were so many uses - on dry hair, as a mask on dry hair, as a mask on wet hair, leave in conditioner - just to name a few. I was excited to use it! I first used it on my wet hair post shampoo for about 20 mins for a deep treatment. Did not notice much difference. My other conditioning treatment was WAY above this. hair still felt dry. I tried it as a pre-wash on dry hair as directed.....WOW. My hair was an absolute tangled mess. I washed it out and no results......my hair was no different from pre-wash. I used it as a leave in conditioner and to smooth fly aways. All it did was create a gunky feeling in my hair. \nThe smell was amazing though. My husband complimented it when i had it in. That is a plus. I can't recommend this product. I felt for something that was supposed to be uber hydrating it did nothing for my curly, colour treated hair. Not a fan. \n
