I enjoyed nearly everything about the product except I felt that it wasn't holding moisture as much as I hoped. It was great for body use but didn't really help my face.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Effective body moisturiser [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried out this moisturiser on my legs and was pleased with the thickness and consistency - but wouldn’t recommend for use on the face, I feel it would probably clog my pores. I will definitely keep using on my body as I saw an immediate effect on hydration, smoothness and it has added benefits of exfoliation that other moisturisers don't have. I've started using on my arms to combat keratosis pilaris and it seems to be having a positive effect!

I have rather dry skin as well as suffering from eczema which during the winter can be at times tortuous trying to get the right combo of products to keep the summer glowing skin. The cream gave moisture without leaving a greasy or wet feel on the face which I find a lot of other products do. I did notice my skin was smoother after a week of use. However, I was not a fan of the thick texture of the cream which was hard to apply without a good rub into the face almost like applying a balm. The smell was also rather off-putting, which would deter me from buying the product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to try this product as I’ve been seeing it everywhere but since using it, I wasn’t so excited to keep using it unfortunately. There are two things I would fault with this cream. One, is that it leaves a sticky residue on my skin after application. And two, the smell wasn’t very pleasant but not overbearing in any way (so not a big issue). It was very easy to use, with simple instructions to follow. Even though it disappointed me a little bit, there were some positives to this cream - it did hydrate and soothe my skin, especially my eczema prone areas without any stinging which was good to see and feel! I would recommend this product to my family and friends, as I do think it is very soothing and refreshing for the skin. Unfortunately though, I have other moisturisers that I like better for my skin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit intense! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have mixed feelings about this product compared with the SA Cleaner (which is a great product). I have dry skin and my normal moisturizer is the CeraVe Smoothing Lotion. I absolutely adore this product and have recommended it several times to friends. I was really excited to try the SA Smoothing Cream however it left my skin with an impaired skin barrier and my skin became quite sore after using it a couple of times. I believe that is product will help those more with oily/combo skin and it would be absolutely fantastic and I would recommend this for those who fall into this category. I will continue to use products from CeraVe as they make great affordable products!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hydrating, but not my favourite [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to love this product because the cleanser I really enjoyed, but immediately after opening you can smell the fragrance free smell which isn't very pleasant. The cream was hydrating and did work with the cleanser well, but the combination wasn't amazing. I still prefered to use my usual moisturiser on my body and facial oils on my face as they just felt nicer on my skin, but that might just be me - I would recommend trying the combo for yourself and seeing if this works for you - it wasn't awful, it just wasn't a must have combo like I wanted it to be.

It does help moisturise my skin and get rid of the dryness but it leave an unpleasant residue afterwards. I did apply this to my face once but after the sticky feeling I have just applying it to my body where it seems to do a good job. I think it was okay as a body cream but I wouldn't recommend to use this on the face.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for its specific purpose [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is for a specific purpose, and it works great for that purpose but seems to lack for everything else. This product worked wonders on the eczema and dry patches I have on my arms, but the rest of my arms where the skin is normal it was very meh. I tried using it on my legs, but it does not spread very well and you have to use a lot to get it to cover the area. It leaves a slightly tacky residue on the skin as well which I am not a fan of. I tried using it as a foot cream and although it made my feet feel soft and hydrated whilst the cream was on, as soon as it was washed off there was no difference. So I would recommend to family and friends if they needed something for the specific purposes that this cream says it treats, its definitely not a recommendation as an all purpose product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hydrating but not amazing [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cream delivers on hydration, however the negatives don’t exactly make up for the benefits. It is super hydrating and lasts all day, however it is an extremely thick cream that needs a lot to cover a decent surface area & it has a bit of a weird scent to it (not a massive deal but still not amazing). I also recommend only using this at night when you’re planning to wear loose clothing because since it doesn’t completely absorb into the skin, it makes it impossible to get dressed in anything even mildly fitted. I didn’t find that it had long lasting effects & was only effective when it was used. It is great if you desperately need hydration however would I would moreso recommend the regular CeraVe Moisturising Cream instead of this cream

The cream has a nice thick consistency which absorbs fast into the skin. I do prefer a thicker feel on my face which is why I wasn't overly impressed but it is still a nice moisturiser.

I would suggest using the moisturiser for other areas of your body, such as neck, chest or arms. I tried it a few times on my face and I felt like it was clogging my pores. The cream was much more absorbent on my body and my skin felt soft and supple after application.

The product was soothing and a nice thick texture to use especially over places I suffer from extreme dehydration, like my elbows, feet and hands. After using the cream i noticed a reduction in dryness and my body was more smooth and bouncy. I was a bit disappointed I couldn't use it on my face ,as it was a little to thick and i felt it was too harsh for the skin on my face, but i know i have a complicated skin type so perhaps it would be great for those with a more compliant skin type. I would recommend this product to everyone because even if its not suited to your face it works amazingly on your body!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loved it on dry elbows and legs [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The CeraVe SA Smoothing Cream is marketed for both face and body and without doubt I was a little concerned with this to begin with. I've tried it on both my face and body will write about both below. On the body - the smoothing cream was great, I loved it around my elbows, knees and dry legs. The cream absorbed relatively well and also improved the appearance my of dry legs. On the face - I found through initial there was a slight tingling feeling (similar to when you first incorporate any acid into your routine). If you regularly add actives into your skincare I don't think this will react much with your skin however sensitive skin will need to proceed with caution. What I didn't love about it on my face though was the thickness of the cream on my face. I find there is more 'pull' on the face when using this cream and it also takes longer to absorb as it is a denser cream. Overall, would definitely recommend this product for the body!

The product is fragrance free however it has a salty smell from the salicylic acid. The texture of the cream is also a bit too sticky for the face.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for me I tried this cream as well as the foot version and the salicylic foaming cleanser after hearing great things about them. I was severely underwhelmed with all 3. Actually, I’ve been underwhelmed with every Cerave product that I’ve tried. This lotion isn’t BAD, but it isn’t worth the hype and there are much better options available if you’re willing to spend that little bit extra. It did nothing for my keratosis Pilaris or ingrown hairs. It has a nice texture, is a fantastic price for the size and has great ingredients but it just didn’t do much for me. The best use that I found for it, was as a moisturiser on my legs after shaving. I applied it whilst my legs were still a little damp and it seemed to help somewhat in the sense that I think I had less ingrown hairs but I still had some and it could have been my wishful thinking imagining that it did something. I would not repurchase.

First impression didn’t really like how heavy and thick it felt on the skin. The smell is unpleasant which it doesn’t make you feel fresh after using it. My skin didn’t react to it so that was a good sign and it does feel smoother once washed off.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Caused horrific allerigic reaction [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sadly this did not work out for me for use on my face. After applying, my face burned until I was forced to wash it off. I can handle a little stinging, as that is par for the course when you have sensitive skin, but this legit felt like it was burning deep into the layers of skin on my face. It felt better after I washed my face, but it continued to burn for 20-30 minutes afterwards. Then over the following days I developed a horrible red, raised, bumpy, itchy rash all over my face and down my neck where I had put the cream. So it did exactly the opposite that it claimed to do. I am pretty sure that the culprit ingredient was the urea, as I have other skincare with the other ingredients, and they have never affected my skin like that. It took two weeks for the rash to go away. I have been able to use the cream on my hands, which have been very dry and peeling. It has helped them somewhat, but it is no miracle cure, and I find I have to apply it quite a lot, or my skin dries out badly again. I did not mind the scent, as I appreciate the lack of unnecessary harsh fragrances. I would advise caution when using this, and if it burns, wash it off right away. If you don't have a problem with urea, go for it, it may work well for you.

Unfortunately all I got was a strong burning sensation and exacerbated redness on my face, which persisted for quite some time despite washing it off. I did however find it great for my hands and arms. Prone to super dry skin in winter, this cream put an end to my dry elbows and hands. My fingernails even seemed to be stronger and less prone to breakage. Disappointed it was no good for my face, I was so excited as the smoothing cleanser was amazing! But I would still use and recommend this product for dry hands/body areas if they aren’t prone to sensitivity.

I liked the texture of CeraVe SA Smoothing cream, it was thick enough that I felt like my face was moisturised however I wasn't comfortably able to put on my eye cream ontop. It sat on my skin all night and I was conscious of this when sleeping. I felt it didn't absorb as much as I wanted. The smell isn't great but I have used much smellier products and as long as the product is effective I'm fine with odour!! It might be one of those products you need to use for a few months before your skin fully gets used to it. Overall was happy with the product, would recommend if you like your moisturiser to last until morning!

I did however did find my skin smoother almost immediately which is a good sign. After.a week trial I found a slight reduction in bumps on the skin and general redness on the arms and legs. What really put me off was the scent of the cream, never have I smelt a cream that smelt like that. Just smelling from the bottle it smells fragrant free but once applied I could smell it, not the best smell in my opinion, had to skip applying to my hands so when I rub my nose or bring it up to my face I wouldn't get a hit of the scent. overall I believe this product does work for it's purpose to reducing bumps and smoothing the skin, but the scent itself would put me off buying this product again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too much for my sensitive skin, awful smell [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I want to start by saying I love Cerave. My family all use their moisturising cream on their skin and it has does wonders. So I was excited to try a new Cerave product. I was given this with the accompanying cleanser to trial. As I have dry and sensitive skin, I was a little nervous using an chemical exfoliant (salicylic acid) in both my cleanser and cream. The cleanser left my skin feeling nice and smooth, and I used the cream all over my face. Within a minute or two, the more sensitive areas of my skin, around my nose - where it tends to be more dry, and around my eyes began to burn. It became so unbearable I had to wash my face, but it still felt like my eyes were stingy and swelling. Luckily, the next morning my eyes were fine, and it hadn’t left a severe reaction. I wouldn’t mind trying the cream again, but avoiding more sensitive parts of the face. However the smell of the product is quite awful. It smells very unnatural, and sterile, and unfortunately the smell lingered for a long time. As someone who is pregnant at the moment and quite sensitive to smells, I cannot bear the smell, as it would make me gag. My Bf who isn’t as sensitive as me, still complained of the smell as being a deterrent in using the product.

The product was quite thick and went on easily, however within one minute my face was burning. It felt very painful and it got to the point where I had to wash it off. I got my husband to try it as well, he does not have sensitive skin at all and it burned him to the point where he nearly needed to wash it off also. I do not recommend this product at all.

I have sensitive skin however the promise of "non-irritating ingredients" and "developed with dermatologists" made me hopeful that this product would work for me. The "Non-irritating" claim was completely untrue for me. I started by using a pea sized amount on my face and within a few minutes it started to burn my skin. I left it on in the hope that it would go away but the burning increased to the point where it was so painful I had to wash it off. This is one of the worst reactions I have had to a face cream. I also tried the product on my arms and legs. Within a few minutes I started to feel the same burning feeling and developed a rash (small red bumps) on my legs after using the product. As a last resort, my partner who does not have sensitive skin, tried a small amount on his face and also said it started to burn his skin within a few minutes. It wasn't as intense as I had found it but he still ended up having to wash it off. This is marketed as "fragrance free" but there is a definite unpleasant fragrance about it. This was actually the first thing I noticed when I opened the product. If I had to describe the fragrance it would be like a sterile / clinical kind of smell that I found quite unpleasant.
