Directions

How to use the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser:

1. Use a coin sized amount of the salicylic acid face wash on wet skin and gently massage into the skin for a few seconds.
2. Use warm-to-lukewarm water to gently rinse the off the salicylic acid cleanser.
3. Pat don't rub the skin to gently pat dry with a soft cloth.
4. Follow with the application of CeraVe Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum as the second step in your daily routine for that added hydration and to lock-in moisture.
5. Use the PM Facial Moisturising Lotion and apply it to your face and neck for a hydrated and moisturised feel.


Using the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser for body:

1. To use the salicylic acid body wash, use a generous amount of the cleanser to lather on wet skin all over the body.
2. Use warm to lukewarm water to gently rinse the off the salicylic acid body wash.
3. Pat don't rub the skin to gently pat dry the skin.
4. Follow with the application of CeraVe SA Smoothing Cream for best results.

I am always looking for gentle products that give me results and this didn't fail to deliver. It gently cleanses and exfoliated, leaving my skin prepped for maximum results from my moisturiser. I am always a little nervous to exfoliate near the eyes, but this product felt great and a little went a long way. I don't use it every day, as I find that my skin felt a little precious after a continuous week of use, but great for every other day.

With all the extra hand washing at the moment my skin has been feeling particularly rough and dry this year. I was pleasantly surprised by the lather that I could get from a small pump of this product. It left my skin feeling squeaky clean without that tight feeling. I'm not sure of the exfoliating power, I usually like something a little more grainy to scrub away the dead skin flakes, but I definitely felt like I could use it daily without that tight dried out feeling. I thought the pump on the bottle was super convenient and I like the idea of being able to lock it if I want to throw it in my toiletry bag when I travel, whenever that may be. Overall, this is a product I will be continuing to use through Winter.

I've used it when I have had inflamed spots and allergies, and its gentle enough but also strong enough to clean away any impurities. At times when my skin is extremely try it does wash off the natural oils on my face which might leave my face feeling a little too tight and dehydrated.

The pump bottle makes it easy to use and a little goes a long way - only half a pump of the cleanser is enough to cover my whole face. I have very dry skin but this cleanser is very gentle and doesn’t leave skin feeling dry or tight like some other products do. I can’t really see the ‘smoothing’ effect yet but it may need a little bit longer than just after two weeks of use. It is fragrance free too which is a bonus for sensitive skin. I am not a fragrance-free person in general but didn’t find this too unpleasant. I would recommend this to those looking for a gentle everyday cleanser.

The CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser did not irritate my skin (even with my eczema and dermatitis which are flaring up at the moment), it left my skin feeling clean but not stripped of moisture. The cleanser is clear with a nice consistency. It has a bit of a scent but it is not very noticeable. I like the design of the bottle, it has a pump which you can lock into place so it will not leak. Overall I like the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser and I will continue to use it.

The cleanser is lightweight but packs a punch with amazing results. It lathers up so a small pump goes a long way, leaving the skin feeling fresh and clean helping to remove those last bits of makeup that may have been missed. If you have a tight feeling to your skin after using cleanser then I urge you to stop using that product and pick up this smoothing cleanser because it really is gentle on dry skin. It does also seem to lightly exfoliate your skin so recommend testing if possible if you have sensitive skin. I found it gentle and good when I was a bit time poor as I could skip exfoliation step to skin care. I'd definitely recommend.

This cleaner made my skin feel plump and clean after use. I really enjoy the pump action of the bottle and makes it easy to use. After a couple of uses, there was visible difference in the texture of my skin. This cleanser also did not flare up my rosacea which made me a very happy girl.

I wouldn't use it everyday but I have added it into my rotation a couple of nights a week and noticed my skin feels smoother when I do. This would be a great introductory product for anyone who would like to try Salicylic Acid but has sensitive skin. As a cleanser it has a short contact time on the skin and should therefor be less irritating than a SA serum or SA cream. I enjoyed this cleanser both morning and night, and it also effectively removed makeup without stripping my skin. Overall, a very good cleanser.

As a result, I’ve been very careful when selecting what I put on my face. I’ve tried a few cleansers that claim to ‘gently exfoliate’ your face, but they always left my face red and dry. This one is quite the opposite, which was a big surprise. I love how smooth my face feels after I use this. It’s not red or irritated either. I’m going to keep using this to see the long term impact on my face, but so far so good!

I didn’t feel much of a difference whilst I was in the shower, however was impressed when I dried off & my skin was noticeably smoother after the first use! This continued to improve after multiple uses & after using it for a few weeks, I still have plenty left which is great value too. It is unscented & great for dry, sensitive skin!

I love the addition of salicylic acid in this cleanser compared to CeraVe's hydrating cleanser and find it still leaves my skin feeling hydrated after use. For my drier winter skin, I find this cleanser great as a gentle exfoliator. Also gentle enough for everyday use. I noticed the skin around my nose was smoother after 2 days of use around the dry patches and blackheads. It doesn't remove make up very well but it's great for make up free days and I have incorporated in my daily routine. Overall, a great daily cleanser for dry skin.

I have been using this alongside the smoothing cream – mostly on the backs of my arms and legs – and with consistent use of both, my skin is feeling way less scaly and rough as well as hydrated. This rids all the dead skin cells and feels silky smooth after use. Fragrance free and works well for my skin which is generally pretty sensitive. If you're after something for that wintery dry skin then this is perfect. I will continue to use this throughout the colder months for added cleansing and hydration.

I usually use face wash with a manual exfoliant in it but usually end up with the little beads in my eyes. I was sceptical that the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser would work well without manual beads. Well I was wrong. My skin has never felt cleaner and softer. I do dry out after using this product though, so have to moisturise after.

I have found that I don't need to double cleanse with this, but I enjoy oil cleansing first and then using this after. It leaves my skin feeling super smooth and soft. First off the cleaner bottle was the perfect size to fit in the shower rack and is always a plus when it fits. The product itself is great for the skin, after a one week trial I felt my skin generally more smooth and hydrated. Due to the winter months my skin is generally more drier, the cleanser removed all skin dead cells and I didn't have any adverse reaction to the cleanser which is a plus. Unlike the smoothing cream the cleaner didn't have a scent which was off putting. I would recommend this product to friends and would continue using the product.

After using the CeraVe cleanser, my skin felt refreshed and clean. It doesn't take a lot to foam especially when you work it into your skin. It doesn't make your skin feel dry at all, if anything it made my skin feel supple. I love that squeaky clean feeling and this cleanser did it for me, I now use it as part of my daily skin routine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK as general cleanser I found this in my stash so decided to use it up, it is a sample size and I don't know where I got it! As it is a sample it doesn't have any information on it so it wasn't until I came here that I found out all about it. This cleanser is made in France and has quite a long list of ingredients, many of the actives are listed in the information on this page or of course there is more on the CeraVe website. The website says they do not test on animals. My skin is mature, combination and my face doesn't particularly suffer rough or bumpy skin. However I do have KP on my arms so I must remember to try it there. My sample is only 20ml so not really big enough to give it a good trial on my body. This cleanser is fragrance free and is a clear gel. I found it lathered up nicely, although not excessively, and left my skin feeling clean but not tight or dehydrated. I have been using it in the mornings so I don't know how well it would take off make up. I have no problems with this cleanser and would happily use it again, however I wouldn't buy it as I am not the target market and I would be paying a high price for something I don't need. I do recommend giving it a try if this is a product your skin needs.
