Directions

How to use the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser:

1. Use a coin sized amount of the salicylic acid face wash on wet skin and gently massage into the skin for a few seconds.
2. Use warm-to-lukewarm water to gently rinse the off the salicylic acid cleanser.
3. Pat don't rub the skin to gently pat dry with a soft cloth.
4. Follow with the application of CeraVe Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum as the second step in your daily routine for that added hydration and to lock-in moisture.
5. Use the PM Facial Moisturising Lotion and apply it to your face and neck for a hydrated and moisturised feel.


Using the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser for body:

1. To use the salicylic acid body wash, use a generous amount of the cleanser to lather on wet skin all over the body.
2. Use warm to lukewarm water to gently rinse the off the salicylic acid body wash.
3. Pat don't rub the skin to gently pat dry the skin.
4. Follow with the application of CeraVe SA Smoothing Cream for best results.

The Smoothing Cream is perfect, but I find the cleanser is far too watery so I had to take some points off. I would prefer if it was the consistency as the Foaming Cleanser

Rated 3 out of 5 by from So far, so fine I purchased this to aid in the reduction of blackheads. I have extremely sensitive skin but was pleasantly surprised that it didn't irritate me. I have been using the product since September 23rd but have yet to see any improvement in my skin which is a shame because I like a lot about this cleanser including that it has no fragrance. The only downside is the lack of any difference I see in my skin tecture.

Doesn’t have a pleasant smell or any smell really. But I didn’t see a real change in my skin after use

I have dry skin on and around my nose and on my chin, the cleanser does seem to have helped get rid of the dryness but I have had a few break outs in other areas. Will continue to use and see how it goes after a month!

This product addresses multiple concerns and not just one which is useful and good. I don't really like the fragrance, and not sold on the scent. It is a good product as a body cleanser for shower use. There are rough bits to exfoliate your skin but it doesn't feel overly harsh which is also good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as enticing as the SA Smoothing Cream [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Firstly, I received this product as part of the Review Crew in conjuction with the Smoothing Cream. Prior to this product, I was using the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and I find that product perfect for my needs. Gentle and easy to clean off my skin, it works for summer and winter and preps for my skin for the next steps in my regime. Whilst I appreciate the inclusion of Saliylic Acid in the Smoothing Cream as the acid sits on your skin and has time to exfoliate your skin gently, I don't believe the SA in the Cleanser has enough time to make a noticeable difference as it gets washed off in seconds. For that reason, this is not a product that I would recommend and I would suggest one of the other cleansers in the CeraVe line-up as they do have a fantastic range. If you're interested however, the product has a gel-like substance and the pump makes it very easy to use. It lathers well and is very gentle on the skin. I have not tried it with heavy makeup but if it's anything like the Hydrating Cleanser, I do think you would want a separate make-up remover. Overall, I think if you're interested in the SA line, the Cream would be of more benefit than this cleanser as Salicylic Acid takes time to work on the skin and I don't believe a cleanser is a product you leave on your skin for long enough to have that effect.

At first it seemed to work wonders on the dry patches on my skin I tend to get dry bumpy skin near my nose and flaky skin on my forehead. I wasn’t a fan of the smell but It was doing its job so I didn’t mind. However just over the one week mark I got a few small pimples on my forehead so seemed to go to from one extreme to the next. I don’t think using it for 2 weeks has really shown the try outcome so I will definitely keep using as my skin can take awhile to adjust to new products and at the 2 week mark seems to be getting better.

I really saw great results, my skin became smoother, my redness was gone and even without applying moisturiser , my skin still felt smooth and soft. It's free of any nasty chemicals and hidden surprises. The only thing I didn't really like about it was the smell. It was fragrance free which I think was great but it still had a clinical odour which was a bit much for me. But other than that I really liked this product!

It leaves your skin feeling super clean! After about a week I noticed my skin becoming really dry and started to break out. It’s too strong for daily use with sensitive skin. I would still use it one or twice a week!

Sadly however, it fell short and I really didn't love it as I hoped. I have to say that it did make my skin feel clean, but it also really stripped all the natural oils from my skin and left me feeling drier than before using it. My skin felt itchy and irritated after using it and I felt it actually aggravated my sensitivities. I gave it 3 stars because I really like the fact that there is no fragrance and a little of the product goes a long way. This would make it a great value product those who's skin can tolerate it.

It doesn't leave the feeling of any residue which is excellent. As for the smoothing properties I did not see a great difference, however when used with the CeraVe moisturiser there was great hydration.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using the product I feel it did well in cleaning and cleaning my skin but unfortunately it left my skin feeling dry afterwards. I feel as though the product "cleaned" my skin so much so that it took away my natural oils and left it feeling very dehydrated. Instead of a reduction in dryness it felt even more dry. I have extremely sensitive and dehydrated skin and suffer from rosacea so perhaps the product would suit someone with a less complicated skin type. I would recommend this product to someone with oily or a normal skin type or as a deep clean for a once a week skin care regime.

I was very excited to trial this as someone with dry and sensitive skin, I’m very cautious of overusing chemical exfoliants, but this seemed to cater specifically for my skin. The texture of the gel cleanser foamed up easily and felt nice on the skin. It didn’t leave my skin feeling too dry or tight, but smooth and cleaned my skin gently as part of my second cleanse. I also used this on part of my body where I sometimes get the odd pimple, and that worked really well too! Now, why only 3 stars despite so many positive things to say? The smell! I could not get pass how awful this cleanser smelled. Maybe it’s because I’m pregnant atm, and am particularly sensitive to smells, but I tried holding my breath while washing my face because I did really like it, but alas, I have had to give up as the smell makes me gag. Whilst I do have a preference for skincare that has no fragrance, in this case I would of preferred it had a little to mask to natural smell of the product so that it was more usable. My boyfriend whilst didn’t like the smell, was not as sensitive as me about it and did enjoy using it. However he did experience some breakouts, which I’m guessing are from purging a little as he normally doesn’t use a chemical exfoliant in his routine at all. He likes how smooth it leave his skin.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have introduced this cleanser into my weekly routine in my search for a gentler alternative to granular and glycolic exfoliators. I have normal to dry skin which is going through a period of being quite sensitised due a bad reaction to some skincare. As a result, my skin is prone to being quite reactive to anything too harsh or strong. I have only used this face wash a few times as I tend to alternate with my usual milk cleanser and so far, so good! The runny gel lathers up into a foam which feels very gentle on the skin and my face doesn't feel dry or tight after I wash it off. Instead, my skin feels hydrated, clean and a little bit bouncy. It also feels very, very smooth and as though your pores have had a deep clean. The best part - I didn't experience any redness or sensitivity after use so I would say that it is sensitive skin friendly! My boyfriend has also been using the face wash and moisturiser from this range and loves it! I think this is a great and affordable option for anyone with sensitive skin who wants to move away from physical exfoliants.

The size and price are decent. It lathers well and removes oil from the skin (ie my face felt right after using it), but that’s about it. I think I’m ready to give up on Cerave products. I would not repurchase. Skinstitut glycolic scrub is a far better product for skin texture.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cere Ve you need to detoxify your cleansers Bought this and started to use it until my naturopath went through the ingredient list with me. It contains Sodium Benzoate - a preservative best avoided, Phonoxyethenol another preservative best avoided. PEG-150 which the jury is out on. It would be good if Cere Ve could also work on replacing some of these things with 'cleaner' alternatives.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Has brown residue at the top of pumper/lid inside When I got this cleanser, a couple of months prior did I notice there was this brown residue dripping when I left it sidewards in my makeup bag, to bring it to my bathroom. Until today it happened again (when I put the cleanser in a makeup bag). I opened it and saw this dark brown colour inside near the pump area. I have been using this for months, without me realising and i highly doubt I will get a refund...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too squeaky clean for dry skin [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the idea of a gentle exfoliating cleanser, but unfortunately this left my skin feeling even more dry (too squeaky clean) and it didn't do anything for roughness or bumps. It did have a nice texture (a very liquid gel that turns into a light bubbly lather) and I liked the fact that it had no scent, but every time I used it my skin felt tight and uncomfortable. I think it would be better suited to someone with oilier skin.
